Had tried multiple times to call and visit the store within posted business hours, yet they were not there. However, they felt so bad about this, they delivered what I needed free of charge to my home.

Update, 4/5/21: Mr. Vern reached out to me following my review to cordially explain the situation and clarified the discrepancy in the insurance billing and claim amount. It seems that this is a common issue they have to deal with. Given the follow up experience I m changing my rating to reflect.
Original: Overpriced and unethical practices. My wife bought a Breast pump and didn t do a lot of research. This company got her to sign a waiver paying $135 to cover 20% of the price. She found out the insurance would cover 100% later but couldn t be refunded because she signed the waiver to pay. The pump retails price is $200 so 20% should ve been $40, not $135. My wife failed to do her research and math but this company is no better to prey on her for profit.
How do I give no stars? Don t bother with them. Worked with them for almost a month trying to get a quote on a wheelchair. Every excuse in the book, waiting on the doctor to send records, waiting on the insurance company. Last call today I was told they were waiting on doctors records (lie because the doctor called ((last week)) to tell me they spoke with them and received the records) when on my last call I was told they had the records and were waiting on the insurance company. I know for a fact they had the doctors orders. Don t waste a month (or a minute) of your time with this company. No thanks to Monica. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I don t know how they stay in business. I will be reporting them and I hope no one else ever has this experience during a medical crisis.
Website is lying. Says they offer medical oxygen tank refills as a service, call the location and the lady tells me "they dont carry oxygen here". I mention the website and she responds with the same answer. Terrible website. Wanted me to revisit my review? Not once did I ask the clerk ANYTHING about ANY insurance. Our conversation lasted 30 seconds and consisted of her putting me on hold to ask someone else because she didnt know. I asked if it's the correct location and she said "Safeway medical, yes sir". So I hung up. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Thank you for your feedback. Google reviews is not letting me upload a picture of your site otherwise I would have posted that too. Thanks.
We were looking for a knee scooter for my sister in Houston. Spoke to Daniel. He provided great customer service and was able to set up and deliver the scooter on the same day. In addition to delivery, Daniel was able to give my sister a quick tutorial on how to use the scooter safely. Very impressed with the great customer service. Highly recommend.
Absolutely Horrific experience! Terrible customer service and multiple delays. They used various excuses and had a very negative attitude anytime an attempt was made to check on the status. Beyond this complaint I m filing a complaint with the BBB and notifying mutiple healthcare partners to stear clear of this company.
The ownee took the time to fix my issue and made sure he f/u every step of the way until i received my pump. I will refer other pts and friends because i know the ownee will make sure everything runs smooth.
I been through a rough road having 2 strokes messing up left and right and getting run over by a vehicle this has been a year to remember. I was called today by a man by the name of Vern miller who reached out beyond what he had to.. he expressed his heart and showed me that safeway medical does care about there clients like there his on family. I would like to publicly Thank You Vern Miller God bless you and your family.
I called the company at 9 minutes to 5, when they close at 5 on a Friday night. To my surprise, someone answered. I spoke with Vern and he went above and beyond duty. He gladly stated he would assemble my item and then offered to deliver it that night, all at no additional charge. The workers who delivered the item were not only friendly but they also cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend this company.
Unreliable and with employees that fabricate stories to hide their failings. It seems that is possible due to an absent owner, Theresa/Teresa? last name unknown per Danelle? She and Vern are in and out according, to the employees. I never spoke with the owner but was told she determined I would not be provided their services.
Almost 2 weeks of trying to get a prescription item that was prescribed by the physician that my insurance covered.. Back and forth lying from the staff, name blaming between workers... Finally employee aka Superman rides in as if he going to save the day after he said they had to fire the other coworker he was going to handle it and call me back.. Three days later no return call, when I called him back oh sorry about that let me check.. oh the lady that processes items says she needs updated prescription which by the way was faxed 3 times to them .. I am so over it I told Clark I will go with someone else... Avoid the lies and BS go with another company!!!!!!

I highly recommend this company if you want a personalized and successful outcome for needed medical equipment. This company and employees, specifically Vern, have been a godsend. After several months of unsuccessful and trying attempts (to put it nicely) with other companies, that I am now very thankful for; otherwise, we would not have been put in contact with Vern, we have now received a complex rehabilitation wheelchair for my father that he desperately needs. Vern saw the need for my father, the doctor and insurance were pushing for a power wheelchair, but Vern saw my father very differently and took it upon himself to make it his personal mission to achieve acquiring a complex rehabilitation wheelchair for my father. We can not begin to express our gratitude to Vern and this amazing company for making this happen in just over a months time, which is like 3 days when it comes to acquiring medical equipment since most insurances require a 14 day evaluation for authorization for medical equipment then add on the amount of time some other companies sit on approvals or denials before communicating with you again, there was zero procrastination on the part of this company. Vern was also completely transparent and honest about what insurance would absolutely not cover or would not consider medically necessary so as to not waste anyone's time or energy, so there was no runaround, this is such an underated asset that I was surprised and grateful to encounter during this journey. Thank you for such a positive, successful and personalized experience and most importantly thank you for helping us to increase my father's quality of life.
After first submitting my prescription to Aerocare and then messing around with it for 2 weeks and asking for more and more information from my dr., they cancelled my order at the last minute. So at the last minute my dr. called Safeway. Vern processed my prescription, knew my insurance coverage, took my co-pay over the phone, and put my wheelchair together in less than hour and half and all over the phone. They would have delivered but because it was last minute before my surgery, I went to pick it up. Janelle loaded it into the care for me. Teresa had waited on me the previous week when I visited the store and also did a fantastic job. I highly recommend Safeway Medical in Houston. Great customer service.
Normally I don t give 5* reviews but after experiencing the other Medical Supply businesses customer service, I would give 10* if I could. My issues are a lot to deal with and no one else wanted to help. If anyone reading these reviews wants to know an honest and fair opinion I ll say this.... I thought I knew what was available for me with my coverage but with the extra leg work they did I found out there were other options I had to choose from and am so happy because I feel so much better now.
I called after hours and Mr. Clark answered stating even though they are closed, he would assist me. He logged back into his systems and proceeded to address my inquiry concerning my mother s bed. After reviewing the information in the system, he assured me he would follow up and see what he could do to get her bed. I truly appreciate him for the excellent customer service he gave and for taking the time to speak to me. Thanks Mr Clark.
I called to see which type of wheelchair was best for my situation and the sales associate was extremely helpful and accurate. When my boyfriend went to get the wheelchair, the same associate helped him and didn't try to upsell.
I purchased my breast pump at this store. I initially had a problem with my purchase but the general manager went the extra mile to fix it and made it right. I really appreciate his work ethic.
These people are life savers and miracle workers. My Grandfather recently fell ill in June and since then has required various medical equipment and devices to help in his everyday life and rehab - regardless of the need I can count on Safeway Medical Supply and team to get us taken care of. Not only have they helped with our every need, they get it done quickly, professionally and courteously! Can t say enough great things about this company and how much they have helped my family.
I have known the management professionally for over 15 years. They are in business to help people which is rare. They are always ethical, hard working, and eager to please. I highly recommend them and Safeway Medical Supply.
This has been a a rough ride but the people at Safeway have made it a smooth as possible. The CSR I spoke with about my mothers hospital bed explained everything to me all the way to co-pay ect. I will send all my friends and family to get what they need from them if they don't have it they will get it! All you need to do is ask for Shanna, Teresa, or Vern BEST people I have worked with in yrs. THANKS
I needed a walker for my grandfather. I couldn t find any companies that would deliver same day! A huge thanks to Daniel who made it happen in a matter of minutes! Great customer service.
I have been to this facility multiple times, and it was amazing. Not once did I visit and they did not have what I needed. Each and every time I walked in Teresa and Vern greeted me with the biggest smiles and they had the most welcoming attitude. All I can say is THANK YOU so much! for all the help you all have given me and giving me the knowledge that i needed on new product that I did not know about.
Teresa and Monica are literally angels in how they treat people in the service they provide. Me and my family went in with the Dyers time of need to get a wheelchair and we couldn't even do business with them but they still went Way Beyond in over for any expectation of customer service and selflessly provided us with all the help and information that we could ever even ask for it didn't even know we needed to ask for ANYBODY who's looking for a true honest real medical supply company the only one I would ever recommend is Safeway Medical Supply it's worth traveling across the city or from another city to go to them
Have been by 3 times during posted business hours. Nobody there. Called and left message. No call back. DON'T WASTE your time going there if you don't call to make sure someone is actually there.
Store hours state they open at 9 am. Lights on, but nobody inside. Called number listed on door and was told by answering service that they were at training and may open at 11 today. Was it really that hard to put up a notice on the door that they were not opening today? No respect for customers.
My mother has been very ill and unable to get in and out of bed without assistance. Sadly, on several occasions, she wet her bed, because she could not get up on her own. Since we were unable to give her 24/7 care, our family decided that the best option would be an electronic hospital bed. The insurance company gave us a list of equipment suppliers and I called Safeway. I was pleasantly greeted by Lubna (spelling?) and Vern, who clearly explained my options and associated costs. They immediately faxed the request to my mother's doctor to get the ball rolling. Once her doctor finally faxed back the form, Theresa helped expedite the insurance approval and coordinated the delivery of the bed the very next day! Anytime I called into Safeway, whether I spoke to Lubna, Vern, Maureen, Ed, or Theresa, I was absolutely blown away by the kindness that I was treated with. While I was overwhelmed with my mother's deteriorating health, they took on the burden of diligently managing the paperwork. They treated my mother's needs with urgency and personal care. I felt like she was a top priority. You just don't find this kind of extraordinary service at most retail stores these days. I am beyond grateful that I had the blessing of working with the incredible folks at Safeway. They were instrumental in providing the relief and assistance that my mother so desperately needed. Thank you!
I agree completely with Diedra G! From the 1st day over a year ago it has been an absolutely horrific experience! Terrible customer service and a lack of knowledge on the products they sell. Don't try calling, you can't ever reach anyone who can help you. It is always "I'll take a message and someone will call you back". Don't waste you're time, they will never call back. There are always lame excuses and they truly don't care about support after the sale. And don't try ordering anything from them, they will take your money and never provide you a status on what you ordered. And like Deidra G I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, providing this review to every social media service I can find and notifying everyone I know and meet to steer clear of this company.
I don t even know who these people are. Calling me a couple times asking for a mrs. Davis. I told them they had the wrong number. The guy was persistent and asked if it was my mom or grandma. Annoying as hell company who don t even explain what they want.
Thieves this company has charged my mothers card over 100 falsely we bought something from them late last year now all of a sudden we are receiving a charge when we paid full price last time we were in business with them. Ive reached out more then once to attempt to talk to customer service or a manager but i keep being told ill get a call back but never do. My mom is disabled and legally blind. I did not they take advantage of the elderly! Thieves
I drove out to Safeway medical to get my new CPAP. My doctor had written a prescription for a certain brand. The very informative and nice respiratory therapist at Safeway medical had a different option for me. He had a Luna Luna CPAP. It looked really good but what really surprises me is how quiet it was. I kept asking them to turn it on and it was already on! When I took it to my doctor he was suprised to see I didn't get the one he wanted me to get. But after downloading the machine he said he gave him everything he needed and more. My wife, my doctor and myself are all happy. The Luna was quieter and easier to breath on than any other unit I have tried.
