I have called three times. I was hit by their insured and the response I get is; its only been one day not sure what you expect. What I expect is a rental car, some understanding and my car to be moved to the location I need it at.

Not really poor to fair - more like downright horrible! My agent switched me from Hanover Ins. last fall, upon renewal, to safety. It's been a nightmare ever since.
It was difficult enough to sign up for the on=line payment and has been a disaster since. It has been difficult every month to pay! Earlier this month I tried to pay, only to be told that nothing was due. Yesterday I got a cancellation notice! I went on-line to pay, and again got the message "your policy is paid in full" and the site would not allow any balance or payment inquiry. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE !
I just got off the phone with my agent - and told them to get some other policy. I can't stand this!
I can only imagine the horror if I actually had a claim!
They re so unprofessional and keep transferring you. Can t wait to cancel with them. Only good one I spoke to on the phone was Anisa. She actually explained and helped.
Ive had Safety Insurance for years, never had an issue, but when an accident occurred last month and i went to VIP Center. This VIP center in Danvers took care of everything, i showed up with my truck, and within the hour a shop had come to pick it up, and i was in a rental. Phenomenal service. I highly recommend this to anyone!!!
Nick Frenzo and Diane Quinn were wonderful to deal with ..they actually take the term VIP and make you feel like one ! Initially, when my accident occurred, i was furious that this was going to be a giant headache and process, especially as a teacher during my school vacation week- who wants to deal with all the phone calls and paper work during your time off?! The process was smooth and quick. I called safety insurance, told them what happened, filed the claim, when to my insurance agency, filled out an accident report; and then was sent to the VIP services where i was greeted and helped efficiently by Diane and Nick. The updates were daily and I was never left wondering what the status of the repairs were ... even being the control freak that i am, i called one extra time and they were helpful and gave me an accurate time frame of when to expect my vehicle. I was also set up with a beautiful rental that i somewhat fell in love with. When i picked up my car this morning, it looks BRAND NEW!!! Safety has been very good to me and i have been insured with them since i was old enough to drive. Very , very satisfied ! Thanks again ! If i ever get into an accident again (which let s pray i don t!!!) but i will definitely be back.

Instead of blaming the company, you may want to discuss things with the agency that set up your policy. More often than not people have a bad experience with a carrier because the insurance agent set them up with poor coverage, I know this through experience.
Spoke with Maureen miller form safety claims and she IS NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. The worst Claim rep I've ever worked with. She has just such a bad attitude and does not let you talk. I'm an agent and I would never ever treat my customers like that.

My car looks brand new! The team at the Danvers office were wonderful- they handled everything and I had my car back very quickly; there were even mints in the cup holder! I sincerely hope my beloved CrossTrak doesn't get in another accident (knock on wood), but I'll go back here if it does!
Not sure if it's Safety or the local agency, but over the last few years service is getting worse and worse. The recent billing change to combined accounts has been a nightmare to say the least. Not to mention the fact that no information on this change was ever communicated ahead of time. I stumbled across it and had to make way too many phone calls and send way too many emails to figure it out. And now I find it's still not fully resolved. Would not recommend this company.
Safety is the worst insurance company I have ever to deal with. It is amost a week since the city condemned my condo unit because of mold; and Safety has been giving me run around, not picking up the phones or calling me back when they should. City is now saying the whole 6 unit building may get condemned if a quick action is not taken to remediate the mold conditions in my unit. I called the head of property claim department. Even he has not called me back yet.
Bad insurance company, I was with them for over 10 years until my car was hit in the rear, they couldn't help, the insurance adjuster Rose Wullerie showed no concern and was very rude to me. It is expensives as well, compared to many other companies
Everyone could not be more helpful and nice. My car was a mess - It was towed to the Safety VIP office, and then the Safety VIP service took over. Always got updates on my repair status, calls that ensured me my car was being repaired properly. My 2014 car looks new, could not have been easier, took away all the stress of a major repair. Excellent across the board ..
Absolutely had the best and easiest experience with Diane and Nick. Made an uncomfortable and stressful process so incredibly easy especially with 2 small children. Went out of their way to help and updated us of the process along the way. So incredibly thankful for their amazing service.
Awful awful insurance company. They try extremely hard looking for ways to avoid paying/helping you. I was rear ended over a month ago, and all I keep hearing from the safety agents, one by the name of Kyle or a nick, and the other a woman who was extremely rude, "an adjuster will be there the end of the week." Well it's been over 4 weeks safety! STAY AWAY from this company and choose any other one, honestly not being sour over my own experience, I was advised by other prominent insurance companies this is how safety operates and they hate dealing with them.
I can only assume any positive review regarding this god awful company, is either by a friend or family member, or shockingly from all the awful drivers who have caused accidents
This is my second time using Safety Insurance's VIP service in Newton. The last time was probably 8 years ago and it was a great experience, made even better by the local staff. I was pleased to see that even 8 years later, Mary Ellen Souza, who is the direct interface for the customer, is still there, as she is extremely professional and helpful. From the moment of my first call, to the initial adjustment by Don Bradanese, the service was smooth and efficient. When I dropped off my car for repair a rental car was waiting for me, and after the work was performed my car looked almost brand new. They even detailed the interior of my car, which after 3 years of small children in the backseat, was a HUGE job. While it's never good to have to go through the repair process, Safety's Newton VIP office makes it as painless as possible and I wholeheartedly recommend their service.
You guys are the worst. You side with other people's claims than your own customers. You should go out of business. I would never recommend you to anyone. How does someone get hit from behind and still gets blamed for over 50% at fault. Losers can't understand how I'm at fault and I was hit from out of nowhere and I'm at fault. Rude rude rude claims adjusters! The accident wasn t my fault, all I needed was clarification on my policy details. My adjuster immediately got defensive and told me he has 400 claims so he doesn t have mine memorized He moaned he didn t have my policy number yet never asked for it, I was trying to vent and he kept trying to interrupt me. If you can t handle the general public, don t work in a job that requires it
These people don't pick calls all they do is a hang up. And telling me how my witnesses aren't corresponding. Like seriously what nonsense is that?? Am still paying insurance even if am not driving . Is suffering the reason why we pay loads of money monthly? My witnesses say they have never received a phone call from people. It's now 2 months and my case is just hanging. Am suffering spending $400 on uber weekly. My question is, do I pay insurance to suffer?
I was involved in an accident 5 days ago. I have yet to hear from my rep or given anyone at Safety a statement besides the number I called to start the claim. I have left 3 voicemails and no return calls On Friday at 9p I was emailed of my assessment and this morning emailed the check was being mailed to me. But the previous email stated they would be sending the check to the repair shop. I have yet to be able to find a shop let alone speak to rob my rep. So frustrated Don t know if my deductible is covered or how to start the process of a rental car. Not only has this been my first accident in 15 yrs the other guys insurance has called me 3 times checking in and getting information they need. And I have yet to talk to anyone at mine. How sad. As soon as this is done I m switching.
Used the v.i.p., the process was smooth and fast. Staff was professional and helpful. Dropped off my vehicle at safety and the rental company met me there. Filled out the paperwork there and left with my rental. My vehicle was I left there and The body shop took it from there. The repair was seamless you could not tell that it was hit. Very fast repair time, would recommend this service to anyone
Diane and Nick in the Danvers location were great. They made the whole process of getting my car appraised, repaired and back to me quick and easy. I expected it to be a nightmare, and they made it a dream. Thanks so much.
I have been a customer of Safety Insurance for a long time, since 1999. I have auto & renters with them. I have never ever put in a claim. Today I tried to have my windshield replaced because my current one is very pitted. There is no real damage such as a crack or hole but the attitude I received from Safety was very concerning to me. I believe the mans name was Roy or Ray. He said instantly an adjuster would have to call me (no one ever called) so I cancelled the entire thing. Why go through that for a windshield? What was really concerning to me were the other reviews I read about Safety insurance now I m scared. I am going to consider switching. The biggest thing is no one calling u back & it seems like that s what Safety is good for not calling people back. I have never called them & hope to never again especially the way I was treated on the phone. Call me sensitive but there was no need for that. If that happened with just a windshield God forbid I have an accident
Worst experience ever! I was the claimant involved with this company. Its been 3 weeks since the incident and here I sit at enterprise and they still don't have any payment information through safety insurance. They are so slow at everything!
If there was a zero i would give it that. here is the run down, plow backed into my car. I repeatedly called the rep, she never picks up (her name is Cheryl) so i leave voicemails for weeks telling her the location of the vehicle my statements etc. She still sends the auditing company to the wrong town... for 3 weeks, 10 voicemails, zero calls back. Had to call in and speak to a different person. They got the auditing company there in 4 days. Currently it has been 4 weeks they only just got my statement, I have paid over 300 dollars for rides to my work at this point, And i still don't know the status of my case.
I had the displeasure of having someone hit my car but I had the pleasure of the worry free attention I received at the Safety Collision Center in Andover Streetin Danvers. I can t think of one thing that they didn t do for me and made the process so worry free. Brought the car in for the estimate, view days later made an appointment with Diane Quinn brought it in for the repair and a rental car waiting for me. An email from Nicholas Frenzo telling me every step of the way how my car was coming along. Picked up my car and it looked perfect. They even washed and vacuumed the car and left me candy in my console. They even took care of returning the rental. All business should take customer service from you all.
I had total 3 claims with in last 3 months! what a luck! but I am so happy with the VIP claim Braintree service. Diane was always very helpful! my rental car is always available each time I dropped off for repairs! they also did little touchup on my one of car which is outstanding! I highly recommend this Vip claim services and very happy with all the services.
Can anyone in this company tell me how it works for the refund when you paid in full and want to switch to other insurance company in middle? I have asks in emails , they simply reply: "No idea" Worst customer experience ever.
Cheryl Riley called and harassed me even though her client took full responsibility of the accident. Lied about talking to my adjustor, lied about recording the conversation, told me I NEEDED TO ANSWER HER QUESTIONS WHEN I KNEW I DIDN'T. She and awful being, and I'm sorry I'm not sorry for saying it.
Great service at the Braintree VIP center. Had a minor fender bender and John and everyone in Braintree took care of everything. They called me to let me know what was happening every step of the way. A week an 1/2 later I have a better than new car. Simple drop off and easy pick up! No insurance headaches or hassles! Safety's VIP Center in Danvers was very helpful. Nick Frenzo was very persistent on making sure I received my Total Loss Check and provided me with insightful answers to all my questions!
One of their drivers rear ended me and caused mechanical damage as well as exterior body damage. Because of the extent of the damage the repair period took longer than 30 days which is usually the amount of time insurance will pay for a rental. Well my car took well over 30 days to repair and Safety insurance paid for 30 days but I was left to pay the rest which was over $500. Now safety insurance is not picking up calls from my adjuster when he has tried multiple times to contact them to reimburse me for the rental. It has been two weeks since we have been trying to contact them. Obviously they are ignoring us because they don't want to pay. Hopefully none of you are hit by anyone that has safety insurance or if you are then hope the repair period is less than 30 days.
Edit: got a call from their adjuster, said ante8mbursement check was on it's way to me, up a few stars, will up more when I actually get the check

This is by far the biggest scam posing as an insurance company I have ever seen. I am a 50 year old male,have been driving since I was 15 licensed since17. I've had insurance my entire adult life,but in another state. This company is charging me as a new driver because they don't want to verify I was a licensed driver in Virginia. Also when I wanted to add a second car these nuts wanted another 200.00 deposit. For 2 vehicles they want 1500.for the year. I've always said insurance is legal thievery
I'm very dissatisfied with Safety and will make sure never to use it again. I moved from MA to CT. I talked to a Safety agent about changing coverage to lower my premium for the part of the new insurance cycle until I finalized the new car registration. She said she couldn't change the coverage because I lived in CT but that I would only be charged for the days until the start of my CT insurance policy. I got charged $413 for the ~1.5 months until I finalized the change of car registration. I'm very annoyed - not so much about how the agent didn't know that Mass law didn't allow canceling insurance before canceling MA registration because I *tried* to drop collision coverage and significantly lower my premium! How can I not be allowed to change coverage while living out of state but am required to have the same coverage as in the previous cycle? It's just a way for the rich to make more money off the not rich. Don't use Safety if you can avoid it.
Has accident in 2016 and now four years later they are saying I owe money when the accident was a hit and run from another person. Very unprofessional and does not help out clients. I will be cancelling home, personal and auto with them. This is the forth time I had had a problem with the company.

A valet smashed up my car, safty insurance is their insurance company and is responsible for the damage. Right now I'm trying to set up a rental car as my car gets fixed. After over 10 calls the adjustor STILL has not responded. This is a shady and terrible company to work with!
Recently our daughter's unattended vehicle, which was parked on a city street, was hit by another driver. She obtained a police report (for all the naysayers on Google reviews, it's YOUR responsibility to get a copy of the police report!) and we contacted our insurance agent the next day. The very same day we were contacted by a Safety Insurance adjuster, who authorized towing her vehicle to the auto body repair center of our choice, sent an appraiser, and set her up in a rental car. Our daughter is 22 and would normally be subject to a youthful driver surcharge but Safety Insurance has a waiver for just this kind of situation. I checked online this evening and the appraisal was already posted. Although we're early in the process, I am VERY pleased with the efficiency and professionalism with which Safety has handled our claim. Rather than trying to deal with the other insurance company ourselves, we are letting Safety handle the details.

I've been a satisfied customer of Safety for years. Their VIP claims center in Danvers, MA was great. Everyone involved was very friendly and professional and my car was in and out in no time looking better than before I was hit. The regular status updates were helpful and appreciated.
I was rear ended by there insured and it was clearly his fault and yet his ludicrous claim that i backed into him was believed by this dumb ass insurance company...also claims to not speak english which i proved was a lie just like his story...this insurance company is criminal in my opinion..they screwed me over for something that wasn't my fault...my vehicle was completely stopped for christ sake...how can i be at 50% at fault for being rear ended....CRIMINALS! DON'T EVER USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY....and if you have them switch quickly...totally dishonest and a bunch of liars!!!!
I found the VIP service to be very well organized and coordinated. From the time I dropped my car off to the time I picked it up the service was first rate. I would recommend the service to my friends without any hesitation.
Pretty awful. I had a car accident before and my insurance company at the time was all over it and it was resolved in about 1 week with a check.
Stay on the other hand... Took over 1 month and my agent would never pick up her phone - message after message and nothing. I honestly thought she no longer worked there. so awful and frustrating. Once the issue was resolved I immediately switched insurances and would not recommend them to anyone

This is what happend when you want cancel a policy with them be careful if you want to open a policy with them: I want to close my policy with you guys. My new provider already sent the A2 form. Safety insurance has treated me and my family very well! We had severe water damage at my home and as a result had to have my kitchen ripped out and part of my guest room and dining room. Safety sent an adjuster(Dave Griffey) who was polite, thoughtful and thorough. He returned phone calls promptly and answered all of my questions in detail. Then the gentleman that Safety connected me with for the claim(Bryan Savosik) and ALE expenses was also very respectful and courteous. He helped us in whatever way he could. He was thorough about documentation of expenses and receipts but that is to be expected. One area that could be improved on is the large check that came for the kitchen repairs took a long time to get to me and therefore the repairs are still in process.
Overall, my experience with Safety has been excellent!

I have never filed an insurance claim before and I am so happy my first time was Safety! I have a home insurance with them. Last year, when my husband and I were traveling, someone stole our possessions. A lot of things were gone including our passports, and money, but more importantly, my husband's camera. He is a photographer so this was a very special and expensive piece of equipment. He was devastated. With the help of Safety Insurance, I got reimbursed according to our policy and was able to give my husband a brand-new camera for Christmas as a surprise. He was over the moon happy :) Thank you to Anne and to Safety Insurance!

Very Bad company. I've been trying to get in reach with Pauline reichardt that is dealing with my claim. It's been three days these Ive been trying to get in contact and left a few voice mails to call me back and nothing. This company is trash and WOULDN'T even recommend it to ANYBODY.
I had one of the best costumer service experience s at the Safety Insurance VIP center in Danvers. My car got into a little accident and from the start to finish they really went above and beyond to make everything go smoothly! Nick and Diane were the two that had helped me and they were wonderful throughout the entire process! I brought my car to the VIP center and right away was greeted and set up with a rental car. After my car was fixed all I had to do was bring my rental car back and pick up mine. When I got my car back it was absolutely beautiful and looked even better then before my accident! With all the stressors that come with car accidents, Safety took a lot of that stress off of me! I constantly was getting updates on my car and they were there if I had any questions/concerns. I would highly recommend this insurance company to anyone!
The absolute worst company ever existed. If you got hit by someone who had Safety don't waste your time trying to get them to talk to you. They wont! Never answer the phone, never call back. Go through your insurance, save yourself time and nerves. My car is scheduled to go to the shop for a repair already and they haven't even opened a case. They keep telling me "we will call you in a day or two". Never do...
Terrible insurance company. When they record your statement they will tell you it looks like it isn't your fault, then you will shortly thereafter receive a check minus your deductible. Guess they forgot they recorded themselves as well.
Oh yeah, police and appraiser said it looked like it wasn't my fault, but Safety couldn't make the effort to get police report. Wanted me to do their job.
The deductible they refused to pay was $500. I plan to appeal and will make every effort to run their legal expenses well over that amount.
Literally the worst insurance company I have ever had. I had to track them down to cancel my insurance after getting sent a $500 cancellation fee because they ignored my new insurance company's cancellation notice that was sent to them. Charged WAY too much for basic insurance and refuses to lower it year after year. Horrible insurance company.
Nick and Diane were so amazing from the Danvers office! I have never been treated like a VIP, but they made me feel so comfortable and taken care of. I received emails everyday to let me know what was going on with my car. It was perfect and the rental car was great!

After my accident the communication I received was terrible. At first i was told the car would be repaired and that repairs had started. Only to hear from the BODY SHOP a week later that the car was totaled. Noone from Safety ever contacted me. 45 days later my accident/liability/settlement is still not resolved, and I was found not liable! I asked several questions in emails on several occasions and got replies irrelevant to the questions asked, and not very timely. I am very disappointed with Safety's service through my claim.
I've changed my review from 1 star to 5. I got rear ended by a Safety Insurance customer. For a few weeks it was impossible for me and my insurance rep to get in touch with the Safety person handling the case. We left tons of voicemails and never heard a reply from her. It felt like we were being stonewalled. Finally I left a voicemail on the general line and another person, Marcus, got back to me. From there he handled everything quickly and efficiently. I guess it depends who you get?
There is no reason our rates should be as high as they are. We bundle home and auto and my husband and I have perfect driving records, no tickets, no accidents, for like a decade. And the billing fee and service fee to pay online add up to and additional $100 a year. Ridiculous.
I recently switched from Safety Insurances to Geico, which represents other insurance companies. I saved nearly $1,000 on my home and auto policies. However, the main reason I switched was because I was being sent checks on a regular basis from Safety for overpayment. After confirming with my agent their legitimacy, I deposited the checks into my bank account. I later realized that the checks were pulled back from my account by Safety. The bank then charging ME fees for Safety's. mistake. I was unable to recover the penalties from my bank, Safety refused to reimburse me and my insurance agent did not follow through with Safety to ensure the bank penalties were returned to me. Poor service.
I've been absolutely destroyed by this insurance company. I was in a small fender bender that caused a scratch to a woman car. She initially demanded $1,000 to fix the issue and had quotes from mechanics to back up that number. I told her to go through insurance. Next thing I know Safety Insurance processed the claim for $5,500 which added 4 points and a $1,500 premium increase. That stays with me for 5 years totaling a $7,500 surcharge for an accident that should have fallen under accident forgiveness. Due to COVID courts have been shut down and I have been unable to appeal. Of course Safety Insurance still raises the bill on me every year for some reason or another... They always find a reason to raise your premium. Ultimately I am upset that Safety Insurance failed to recognize blatant insurance fraud. They told me there was damage under the vehicle which is why it cost so much, well I want to know how a scratch to the rear passenger door could have done damage to the "underside" of the vehicle. Customer service has been horrible regarding this issue.
My Neighbor hit me in the middle of the night, by the next day I had an insurance claim against me saying I hit him. Safety appraised the damage at 5k. It cost me less than 1200 to fix myself. Safety is a scam go somewhere else

I have been with Safety Insurance for 5 years now as combined insurance policy with Safety auto insurance with their home insurance company, Ironside. In that time, I have filed 0 home claims and 3 car claims. The first two were separated by 4 years and were admittedly both wrecks. However, prior to submitting the third claim, which was an optional claim to repair damage my car had sustained in a parking garage, I called to weigh the pros and cons with an adjustor in their company. I was informed that this claim would not be something that is reported to the MA RMV and would not be used as points against me as this was damage in a parking lot and there was no ticket, etc.
However, here I sit pending driver's retraining course and now, two days after selling my house, receiving a notice from them that they will be dropping me from their insurance coverage. 5 years paying into both companies at their generally higher rates for worse coverage; no missed payments on to either insurance, and with them losing my home insurance with its 0 claims, "spontaneously" deciding to end my car coverage from a claim that wasn't supposed to affect anything (which the representative was completely wrong about) filed 3 MONTHS PRIOR to the notice.
I tried emailing my adjustor from the claim multiple times, called the main line, and tried emailing anyone who had been involved in the claim. However, no one responded or returned an email and ultimately I had to call the main customer line located in a different state who was unable to do more than apologize.
Summary: do not trust this company, do not use this company. They are uninformed and unresponsive. They just want your money.
While dealing with a claim, my representative reached out only once and I never heard from him again. Numerous straight to voicemail phone calls and emails sent out but nothing in return. After a month, I find out my representative had been promoted and I was given another representative. This was again met with non-returned phone calls and emails. I have since been dropped from the company due to "failure to submit payments"
My son's car was totaled and the Safety Insurance process (rent-a-car, adjuster report, car comps, payout) and comps for a replacement cost was outstanding.
Jackie Smith and Deb Penniman made a very stressful situation so comfortable and their responsiveness was amazing. This was a no fault accident, my son's car was rear ended and in less than a week I had a full replacement check to be used for the purchase of new car.

My car was hit while parked and this company refused to fix a part that was damaged in the accident because it was listed as a wear item so $1,166.59 came out of my pocket to fix said part and that s not including the tax on the rental car that I had to pay as well! This company is a joke and I will be looking for different insurance
My mother s car got totaled in an accident and Safety denied us any coverage when we ve been loyal customers for 5+ years with no incidents or even a late payment but offered the other car up to 5000 when his front bumper was dented and the paint on his doors were scratched off. They gave us the run around for a whole week when they pretty much made their decision on the day of the accident
Called 2 days in a row left my claim number phone number and name they never called back. Would definitely never recommend this insurance company to anybody.
One small home owners claim that they did not cover in full and now a nonrenewal notice. Also did not inform me of the nonrenewal 45 days before the policy expires per mass law. I'll be moving both my home owners, rental property and three cars from this company. Very poor service
I recently had the most OUTSTANDING experience with Safety Insurance VIP Claim Sevice. My car was parked beside/hit by a wooden farmstand structure that was blown over during a freak microcell thunder storm. There was significant damage to the entire right side. I placed a call to report the damage and was given the opportunity to get it taken care of through The Safty Insurance VIP drive up claim center in Braintree. In 15 mins the damage was appraised, the appt for the repair work was made and the coordination of a replacement vehicle was set-all by the VIP CLAIMS COORDINATORS Diane and Arthur. A few days later, I returned to VIP Claim Center in Braintree to drop off my keys/car which was transported to the body shop by Safety, picked up my rental and off to work I went in under 20 mins!!! Arthur kept me up to date and informed of progress every 48hrs. When the work was complete I received a call from Arthur to inform me that the car was back at Safety, re-inspected to ensure all work was completed and ready to be picked up! I returned to the Safety Insurance Claim Center to find my car looking shiny clean and as good as new! I gave the key for the rental to Arthur and was back on the road in minutes! This was the most amazing experience I have ever had with an auto insurance claim!! I can't stress enough how grateful I am for Safety's VIP CLAIM SERVICE and to Diane and Arthur for making this claim the easiest convenient and most pleasurable experience! (did I mention that this amazing service is free) I'm now a Safety Insurance client for life!
