I've been here three times to see ballet performances & cannot fault the venue. Love it.
Best theatre for mid shows and dancing spectacles, competes only with peacock theatre...
It's a beautiful, modern theatre just a few minutes walk from Angel tube station. The seating is both staggered and has deep raking in the Circle 2 (equivalent to upper circle) which means decent sightlines. However, you are very high up indeed and quite far away and that left me with a terrible stiff neck on my last visit. Also, if you don't like heights, don't choose seats in Circle 2!
Not really a ballet person, but really enjoyed Mathew Bournes swan lake, fantastic performances.
A great theater. If you are in London, you should visit a piece. I was with Pina Bausch "ancestors". Just great.
Didn't anticipate but it was massive theatre across 2 floors, sound quality perfect and lighting was beautiful.
Love this theatre. Definitely the best to see contemporary dance shows !
I just love Sadler's Wells. I think the price very reasonable, and there are no bad seats. I prefer the 1st balcony.
went to see sara baras on a flamenco performance. amazing!
Enjoyed the show, Carmen, very much. However the seats towards the back are very cramped - my knees were pressing against the seat in front! Not good considering the price of them.
Good seating clear view of stage . the dancing was great . a great afternoon with friends .
Gorgeous theatre. The Red Shoes was memorable. Annual flamenco also amazing.
Visited recently to watch a musical, convinient venue to get to, lots of on road parking available a few minutes walk away, which was really useful as was free to park after 1pm on a Saturday!
Comfortable seating, tiered which helps. Sound was good, very clean too. Would visit again.
Great attractive & modern venue. Even in 2nd circle the view is good & seats comfortable enough.
Sadlers Wells is a major home of dance, both home grown and international companies, located wirhin a 10 minute walk of Angel tube station. Pre-booking is essential as it is a very popular venue.
Brilliant shows, ideally try to get seats in stalls or circle one, circle two is very high up.
Great venue, easy access in an out of the auditorium, lots of good seats and productions of a consistently high standard.
Great theatre, seen many great contemporary dance shows here - and you can get really good prices if you book in advance
Great to have our senior management conference there
If you love ballet you must come here!
It has a great selection of performers and productions. The highlight was The All Male Black Swan by Matthew Bourne. He is a genius.
The atmosphere is always electric and the crowd eccentric.
It is slightly out of the way (unlike Covent Garden) but it is worth the trip. Take the tube to ANGEL and follow the crowd.
Sometimes some seats are not gradient enough so if you are unlucky to sit behind somehow with a beehive or who is tall, you may have a problem.
We came to Sadler's Wells to watch our daughter dance on one of the Mardi Gras shows on April 21st. The venue itself is lovely and in a beautiful part of London. Our only issue was that there were not enough staff in the auditorium to stop the unruly behaviour of some of the spectators seated behind us. They were talking throughout the whole performance, using their mobile phones, swearing, clambering over seats and generally being disruptive and disrespectful to other spectators and the dancers. Our 9 year old son was very intimidated by their behaviour.
Please get more staff in your auditorium. Or even security. This was meant to be a wonderful experience for us and the other families watching. This show was a one off for our daughter and for us. It shouldn't have been ruined by the behaviour of others.
Saw the Mark Morris Sgt Pepper performance. The venue is cosy but not cramped so it is nice to be able to get a drink like its being at a football stadium kiosk on match day.
Sadlers Wells is one of London's more contemporary theatres - expect to find some really amazing modern dance acts here. I'm a big fan of the Islington location, but the venue is a little low-key compared to the Royal Opera House.
Best venue in London for a wide range of contemporary dance productions including ballet, Bollywood, hip hop and Latin American to name but a few. The auditorium has good acoustics and offers good sight lines from all seats, but, as the seating is quite shallowly raked, views of the stage can be spoiled if you're unlucky enough to have someone tall sit in front of you. The theatre is also home to the Lilian Baylis Studio which hosts smaller productions that are mainly conceptual and experimental works and supports upcoming new dance companies. Something for all dance fans.
Great venue for dance; ballet and modern. The bar area is a bit squished and not enough seating. Otherwise great.
Magical place. The well is still there and the trees dressed in fairylights. One of my favourite venues.
Cheaper to buy tickets directly from here than online, which doesn't have admin fees. There were empty seats before start of show and the staff let everyone move forward. Great service
The Sadler's Wells is certainly the best theatre in London for international dance. I've been recently to watch the flamenco festival.. amazing experience!!!
was late for 2mins for the show, not allowed to enter until bunch of other late arrival to enter at the same time.
The theatre is a national treasure. Real fun night breaking convention was GREAT!
Wonderful space and great performances. One of my favourite places to visit.
Great venue for theatre lovers. World class contemporary dance, drama and many more.
Very nice theatre staff are very helpful even though ballet is not my thing still enjoyed the experience
Saw Carmen La Cubana here, an interesting take on the original Carmen with the storyline set in Cuba during the revolution. The Theatre is modern, spacious and reasonable amount of leg room. Would definately go again to see other productions.
Everytime I go their it's always been an enjoyable performances
Lovely venue. Come every year to see the Spanish flamenco dancing.
Great place to check international contemporary dance
In my opinion the best venue in London to see dance/ballet performances. Has a varied programme from introductory shows for children and adults right through to contemporary and classical.
Great place , just awkward for my grandmother to get to.
Saw Vamos Cuba there an it was very nice. The venue is nice and the staff friendly and helpful.
Lovely modern theatre access excellent apart from facilities being downstairs making them more difficult to access for those with mobility issues. Excellent seating and good views from everywhere. Would recommend the experience
Bourne's swan lake - best performance I've seen to date. Mesmirising for all.
Great theatre if you like modern dance. It's in a good location with a bus stop just outside and about 10-15 minutes walk from Angel tube station. You can purchase food and drinks on multiple levels, which eases crowding. Very organised for letting people in. Most seats will give you a good view.
Great venue to see dance, we loved Matthew Bourne's Cinderella. If you book in advance and eat beforehand the food is excellent.
Very nice theater with nice snacks and selection of wine. A little pricey.
An excellent theatre with a strong, varied program.
Iconic London venue, especially known for its daring dance programme
Lovely theatre in a place of London I didn't know at all. I really had a good time with my wife.
Seen Gisele by the Birmingham Ballet. Very nice show in a modern and comfortable theater, several bars for a drink at intermission. Located in the district of Angel which is worth the discovery.
Always surprised by the artists here, Natalia Osipova show was amazing
