It's a beautiful, modern theatre just a few minutes walk from Angel tube station. The seating is both staggered and has deep raking in the Circle 2 (equivalent to upper circle) which means decent sightlines. However, you are very high up indeed and quite far away and that left me with a terrible stiff neck on my last visit. Also, if you don't like heights, don't choose seats in Circle 2!

Visited recently to watch a musical, convinient venue to get to, lots of on road parking available a few minutes walk away, which was really useful as was free to park after 1pm on a Saturday!
Comfortable seating, tiered which helps. Sound was good, very clean too. Would visit again.

If you love ballet you must come here!

If you love ballet you must come here!
It has a great selection of performers and productions. The highlight was The All Male Black Swan by Matthew Bourne. He is a genius.
The atmosphere is always electric and the crowd eccentric.
It is slightly out of the way (unlike Covent Garden) but it is worth the trip. Take the tube to ANGEL and follow the crowd.
Sometimes some seats are not gradient enough so if you are unlucky to sit behind somehow with a beehive or who is tall, you may have a problem.

We came to Sadler's Wells to watch our daughter dance on one of the Mardi Gras shows on April 21st. The venue itself is lovely and in a beautiful part of London. Our only issue was that there were not enough staff in the auditorium to stop the unruly behaviour of some of the spectators seated behind us. They were talking throughout the whole performance, using their mobile phones, swearing, clambering over seats and generally being disruptive and disrespectful to other spectators and the dancers. Our 9 year old son was very intimidated by their behaviour.

Please get more staff in your auditorium. Or even security. This was meant to be a wonderful experience for us and the other families watching. This show was a one off for our daughter and for us. It shouldn't have been ruined by the behaviour of others.

Sadlers Wells is one of London's more contemporary theatres - expect to find some really amazing modern dance acts here. I'm a big fan of the Islington location, but the venue is a little low-key compared to the Royal Opera House.

Best venue in London for a wide range of contemporary dance productions including ballet, Bollywood, hip hop and Latin American to name but a few. The auditorium has good acoustics and offers good sight lines from all seats, but, as the seating is quite shallowly raked, views of the stage can be spoiled if you're unlucky enough to have someone tall sit in front of you. The theatre is also home to the Lilian Baylis Studio which hosts smaller productions that are mainly conceptual and experimental works and supports upcoming new dance companies. Something for all dance fans.

Saw Carmen La Cubana here, an interesting take on the original Carmen with the storyline set in Cuba during the revolution. The Theatre is modern, spacious and reasonable amount of leg room. Would definately go again to see other productions.

Lovely modern theatre access excellent apart from facilities being downstairs making them more difficult to access for those with mobility issues. Excellent seating and good views from everywhere. Would recommend the experience

Great theatre if you like modern dance. It's in a good location with a bus stop just outside and about 10-15 minutes walk from Angel tube station. You can purchase food and drinks on multiple levels, which eases crowding. Very organised for letting people in. Most seats will give you a good view.

Seen Gisele by the Birmingham Ballet. Very nice show in a modern and comfortable theater, several bars for a drink at intermission. Located in the district of Angel which is worth the discovery.
