The entire staff at this office go above and beyond their call of duties to make sure our two pugs get the care and attention that we feel they deserve. They are so kind and gentle to my dogs and they truly care and have passion for what they do. I have been asked why we don't take our dogs to other "discount" places in Federal Way, and my answer is honestly always this: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. My dogs are always treated so nicely and the staff is always so helpful and knowledgeable about their services and any questions or concerns we may have. I never feel like my dogs are treated as just a "number" here but instead are treated with the care and compassion that we like to treat our dogs with ourselves. I cannot thank them enough! Also, their hours of operation are SO helpful to people that work during the week. Open until 8PM some days, which is PERFECT!

Our littlest pug, Claire was recently attacked by a pit-bull and we rushed her up to their office not too long before they closed. They immediately took her in, examined her, ran tests on her, gave her stitches, medications etc and helped reassure us that everything was going to be ok. They truly understand how much our dogs mean to us. They even called me the next day to check up on our little Claire, and unfortunately I was at work so I wasn't able to give them an update. Instead of leaving the conversation at that, the lady asked me if my other half was at home with Claire (which he was) and if I minded if she reached out to him to check on Claire. This to me, showed me they weren't just following up to say they followed up. They were truly caring enough to make sure our little girl was doing ok.

Sacajawea has 100% of my confidence and trust. I've been bringing my Pugs there for 8 years. I just brought in Mack for a fairly complicated dental procedure, complicated further by an his pulmonary disease. Dr. Virgin and Connie did an outstanding job, and Mack is recovering nicely.

We have been using Sacajawea Vet for a little over a year and have had incredible levels of care. With all the options available I am so glad we found them first. Highly recommended for the professionalism and knowledge of the staff but mostly because they actually cared when we needed them the most.

I m always nervous bringing my german shepherd in with his skin condition and having any other person handle him because he can be high anxiety and excitable... top that off with not being able to go into the facility with him I was very apprehensive.

The staff was incredible and when the doctor called me to update me on what was going on I was relieved.
Probably the most communication and open conversation I ve had with a vet where they didn t make me feel dumb for not wanting to keep my dog on certain medications 24/7 if I didn t have to.
Great experience and the bill was 1/3 of what it usually is at other facilities for his specific condition so that s an added bonus.

Dr Crouthers is a caring, personable veterinarian who interacts well with our family and pets. Vet Tech Linnette is our favorite.

I have been taking my pets here for over 25 years. They have wonderful caring doctors and staff. I have lost a few of my loving pets over the years and the doctors and staff feel your loss and share in your grief. Very dedicated to caring for your pets. Highly qualified staff. I would not take my pet anywhere else. They will refer your pet to other clinics when needed. These clinics are highly reputable and very caring as well. I LOVE Sacajawea Veterinary Hospital! Not only is the office staff helpful, courteous, and accommodating, but ALL the doctors are AMAZING. You can trust my recommendation because I've been trusting these wonderful humans with my SIX fur-kids for THREE years. These doctors are supportive and understanding of all our fur-parent concerns. Their "PAW Plans" make it easy and affordable to provide quality care (all of our fur-kids are on a paw plan, by the way). Their new location is so nice and convenient as well. THEY ARE THE BEST!

I have been taking my 7 month old lab to Sacajawea since we brought him home. This is my first puppy, in the past I always adopted older dogs. The team has been incredibly patient with my questions and so helpful. My little guy is always excited to go visit (even when he shouldn't be)! I have dealt with three different front office staff Nicki, Matthew, and Amanda and they have each been great! The doctor's have done a great job, and I am always pleased with our visits! They have Covid protocols in place to protect the employees, patients, and pet owners. The team is marvelous!

I would highly recommend Sacajawea! Dr.Virgin was fabulous and really took the time to really care for my fur baby and she was thorough in explaining everything to me and making sure I understood. She answered all my questions and her staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good visit.

I love this place. They have seen my guinea pigs over the years, and helped them every time. Staff is very knowledgeable, and very caring. I will continue to come here.

Been going here for almost 5 years--since my lab was born, fantastic service throughout our time here. We've done everything from routine to emergency services and they have been compassionate, informative, and reasonably priced for every visit. My pooch Wyatt gets excited when we tell him we're going to the vet. If he loves it, they must be doing something right.

They are always super friendly and take great care of my pets. You can tell they really care about animals and have been a great help over the years.

I am enjoying the new location. The employees seem happier as well. Frankie our dog likes it too!!!!

Dr Crouthers and Lynette were amazing. I took my cat in today for a surgical procedure and they were so reassuring, compassionate, and provided excellent care. She was in good hands! And I appreciate the clear communication from Dr Crouthers, Lynette and the people in the front office. Great team and such peace of mind to know my pets have the best care around.

Bird owners beware!!! They are not bird specialists. I had them clip our new birds wings last week. They didn t do it right because this morning our bird was starting to fly. So we went back today and they said they re personal who did the work last week didn t finish the job. So today they did but they clipped our birds wing and it started bleeding. I can not recommend this vet and will look for a bird doctor who really knows their stuff. They were very expensive too!

I still go here even though I live in Tacoma now. My bunny always gets the best care and they generally figure out what the issue is fast without me having to pay for additional pricey tests like other vets do. My baby also had to be put on a diet and he s better than ever thanks to Sacajawea. My only thing is that reception is always a bit slow at checking in and out patients because of drawn out phone calls with clients. In my experience, you should put the call on hold to check your patients in, especially if they ve been waiting past the appt. start time. I still highly recommend them, but definitely block off more personal time, just in case.

The veterinarians I interacted with at this office were great. Every single interaction I had with the administrative staff/ front desk was not. Starting with the first appointment, when the front desk person I spoke with on the phone to make the appointment actually forgot to write down what kind of pet I was bringing in, and provided me with the wrong instructions for my appointment. It didn't bother me at the time - mistakes happen. Little did I know, this was standard practice. They were horribly incompetent, and actually apathetic and demeaning on one particularly fun occasion when I called because my pet was actually dying, and I'd been told three different things by three different administrators about how to get a prescription filled while I was out of town for work and trying to get medication to my pet sitter. Here's a quote from that fun conversation: "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" Yeah. A few days later (still no medication) my pet had to be put down. The vet I spoke with on the phone at that truly terrible time was great. BUT when I returned from my trip ten days later and went to pick up the remains of my pet, there was some confusion about where he was, and whether or not he was actually deceased. I kid you not. I had to explain to the front desk guy that my pet was dead, and he should check the fridge. Oh, and the prescriptions finally arrived. They sent a condolence card, and I threw up in my mouth a little bit. AND THEN, SEVEN months later I get a call from this office telling me they have no record of my having paid for the euthanization of my pet, and I needed to provide evidence of payment so they (this is a quote) "didn't try to collect on it." The audacity. I. was. so. mad. I was able to pull up my credit card statement, and, of course, the charge was there. Because I'm an adult, and I have records of my financial transactions, unlike this business. The incompetence, the lack of professionalism AND compassion.... truly appalling.

The only place I trust the care of my best friend to these days. I've been to many vets over the years and the staff here is really special and my dog loves them too.

After returning from the clinic, Alice eliminated, took meds and rested in a cage. Today she was less wobbly. I am so glad Dr.Virgin promptly provided the best treatment for Alice'IVDD. Thank you very much.

Love the staff! Been going for over 10 years. 3 different dogs and 2 cats have had excellent care over those years. I tried 4 other vets when I first moved to the area and this place was superior by far.

We just started going here and I own Mastiffs. So far they were able to get the chance to meet one. Here soon they will meet the clan and they think they fell in love with the Mr. Fonsworth. Just wait till they meet the rest of his family. They worked with him with such gentleness even though he put up a protest when they tried to walk him in. The staff was so sweet to him and Mr. Fonsworth didn't complain a bit after he was back with us.. I very much enjoyed the phone call for Fonsie's follow-up the very next day. I came to them with a million and one questions and they gave me phenomenal answers/advice. What a very nice place to bring pets of all sizes

Diagnosed my dog with cancer and just put him to sleep months later. Still, best vet I've ever experienced and I'd recommend them to anyone. Great vet...

I have recently moved to the area and was looking for a vet that is close to my new location. With all the good things I'd seen about Sacajawea, I was very excited to try them out. I called to make an appointment and they asked if my dog was current on his vaccinations. I told them that I Titer and they replied that I couldn't bring my dog because they don't accept Titers. I was very sad to learn that they would prefer to over vaccinate then check to see if a vaccination was even necessary and then if so give the shot.

Guess I'll keep looking.

Dr Mason and team are considerate and truly try to help in all areas of the pets life.. I have a special case animal and they go above and beyond to try and accommodate her needs. Great staff, great doctor! Thank you team!

Best experience ever!! Extremely knowledgeable and responsible with my Lion Main Head bunny!! She gave me a full report on my fur-baby's health and even regulations for traveling with her to Puerto Rico!!! Best vet ever! Reasonable with $ and accesible! Friendly, attentive, understanding!!

Love this place! I ve been going there for the past 7 years with our miniature poodle mix and he s absolutely horrified BUT the staff is so understanding and nice to him so it makes it a positive experience for us. I feel like they are honest and work with you & your schedule and I would definitely recommend them to anyone that is looking for a vet for their pet!

Super friendly staff! Very sweet and knowledgeable. I called and got my gerbil in same day (one of few who sees gerbils in area!) While waiting was offered coffee or cocoa. Front desk staff very nice and courteous. Dr. Mason is very gentle, offered us two treatment options and the vet assistant reviewed them with me. Still waiting for treatment to be administered but I have the feeling they will do their best. Quite pricey compared to my other vet, wouldn't mind too much considering gerbils are not super common except that there is no option for a payment plan. Very disappointing because it limited my options for treating my pet. Have long ties in community would be nice if that could be considered without doing a sketchy credit card app. No payment option is why I knocked a star off.

This is a great animal hospital! The vets and techs are talented, compassionate and very thorough. The office staff are very.friendly and are a nice first impression when you walk in the door!

I took my puppy in for an exam/evaluation because he was limping and obviously in pain.
I told them he may have been experiencing growing pains, well they took him in and brought him back in "8" minutes and said it was growing pains! I guess they followed my diagnosis because he was out in a flash! Prescribed a medication that didnt work, I even sent in his previous medication bottle that I said worked prior. $132 dollars and "8"minutes later he was the same if not worse! I called to tell them this and they said I would have to pay another $$80 bucks for the right medication!!! These are not true lovers of pets!! Would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS MONEY PIT! Not to mention they forgot to call me when the prescription was ready! He had to wait 3 days in pain until reopening! IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET!! AVOID THIS PLACE.

I took my cockatiel kiwi and they took such great care of her . I also took my cockatiel ginger and all the medicine prescribed all healed them . I RECOMMEND this vet to anyone who has birds . I just wanna thank all the kind awesome workers ! Thank you ! Dr mason is the best bird doctor shout out to her for being an awesome doctor for my babys !!

I filled out the pre-appointment paperwork online that states what my extra concerns were, and I reviewed them with the tech when we checked in and I gave them my cats... One concern was never addressed and I didn't realize until I was home- the doc was too busy trying to upsell me. At least that's what it felt like- recommendations for expensive flea med, other labs, etc. took the conversation away from my original concerns. Quality has decreased greatly. I had gone here for many many years but haven't had an animal or been back here in about 4 years. Very disappointing appointment as I'd come to have high expectations for this place. They were not met this time.

They have taken care of all of our pets and have done wonders in saving Anubis the Wonder Dog

Very friendly and helpful! Even in these tough times, the entire staff was very courteous and I trusted my pooch was in good hands. Dr Rooker was really lovely over the phone and I am happy to bring my pooch back for regular care. I even signed up for their PAW Plan which is a great value!

I was recommended to this office by a family member but I did not feel or see any kind of hype that I was told. What I did notice is that the office has and they are very noticeable when they have favorite clients/patients and that is pretty bad to see because you start to wonder if your pet is also getting the same attention and care like the others.

I would never bring my dogs back to this place again. Took 3 workers to hold down my shih tzu to put ear drops into his ear.
Would not let me do it in front of them. It would have been so simple! But they wanted to torture the pup instead and then try to sell me unheard of products just to move there sales
What a freak show

I took my puppy here at 7 almost 8 weeks for an exam after getting him from a breeder. I paid almost 100 for it and his second worming med. I scheduled an apt for his 2nd shot. They wanted to do ANOTHER exam and wanted 95. I canceled the apt and called 2 other vets both said if he JUST had an exam a week ago no reason they should be charging another exam fee. Also they SOLD me tiny some samples that was labeled on the back NOT FOR RESALE. This place is all about $ be prepared to spend ALOT here! The Dr is thorough but they have you do alot of unnecessary things and it's not a cheap place. I wont be going back there needless to say!!

We took our turtle. They were great I would recommend them for anyone with certain exotic pets!!!!!
