Awesome environment. Well maintained rooms. Hospitable service from friendly staff who go above & beyond to ensure that guests are comfortable. Excellent all round facilities and kids activities. Offers something for the entire family as location is literally a stone throw away from the Lowveld Mall & Kruger National Park. Would certainly like to visit again.

Always enjoyed coming here. This time our pool fun was ruined by a grumpy manager who didn't want the cheap plastic reception volley ball wet when we were playing with it in the pool. We were alone and having fun and he literally killed our fun, over a R80 ball.

This used to be a safe place to spend with the family but not anymore. People's belongings are being stolen from the chalets. Upgrading/renovations were done to the main hotel and reception but the chalets are still the same old chalets with old furniture, poor cleaning, old yellowish bed sheets and one gets charged double the price for a peak season which I found unreasonable and not worthy.

Inquiries made on relevant Facebook groups indicated that either the Waterval-Boven or Schoemanskloof routes would be suitable to take us to Sabi River Sun Resort, located just outside Hazyview. We opted to take the N4 Waterval-Boven route. The roadworks we experienced on previous trips to the area were all completed. We did, however, experience a short length of roadworks in the vicinity of Milly's, where we stopped for a light lunch.

We arrived on schedule and check-in went smoothly and efficiently. We would, however, recommend a detailed resort map to be handed to guests upon arrival as we struggled to locate our assigned unit. We unpacked and moved the vehicles to the assigned parking lot, a short distance away. The unit was spotlessly clean and well maintained but we found a couple of areas that warranted attention. A project to refurbish all the units were underway during our stay that would take care of the couple of issues we detected.

Our son went for a jog early in the morning, following the route set out on the resort grounds and afterwards, we spent the time exploring and taking photographs at the resort. The surrounding gardens are kept extremely neat. The highlight, of course, being the hippo pond with an appropriately located viewpoint, where numerous hippos, birds and other wildlife can be seen. There are various other pathways and ponds as a result of the golf course intersecting the holiday units.

Embarked for home and again stopped at Milly's after taking the Schoemanskloof (R36 & R539) route home.

Nice spot, clean and the ambient highly friendly. Not the same with the receptionists. Avoid Peter and Innocence - no idea what welcoming and coming to one's wishes represents. Clean rooms, kitchen very good, although service leaved much to be desired. Pool not cleaned all the time. Managing not to be seen around. They are counting much on groups coming in and out, staying as long as one night, so not having much time to realise what the real face of the place looks like. Golf can be played without much pretentions. Two stars max

Super. In every way a five star resort. A small heaven. Do not miss out an opportunity to stay here if possible. Could not find any fault with the resort whatsoever. Would definitely not stay anywhere else if I were to go back on a wildlife Safari to S. Africa. Stunning place.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was good. An ideal place for those who just want to relax, but also having plenty of sporting amenities for the more active guests.

What a difference one person can make! We last stayed at the Sabi River Sun a few years ago and the service was not good and staff were demoralised. There is a new GM who has uplifted the staff and the service is now slick. The food is deliciously amazing and we no longer have to find other places to eat in town! There is a hide where you can photograph hippos, crocodiles and birds.

I'm not happy with the service I received with regard to my reservation on Saturday 21 December. First, I did not receive confirmation of my booking, then I was shocked at the rate I was charged when I arrived at the resort. As a member of the Tsogo Rewards program I expected reasonable rates, This was supposed to be my third stay at the resort this year alone. When I complained that the rates are too high the guy seemed not interested to assist me, I left and booked at another place when I paid R1800 per night, dinner, bed and breakfast, which was almost R600 less than what I'd have paid at Sabie River Resort. I feel that I am not a valued client...
