This is a shout out to Freedom, the duty manager, who made my parents feel special on their wedding anniversary. I cannot fault the management at Sabi River Sun.

My parents have been regular visitors since 1988 and they take care of their guests. We were there during a terrible storm back in 2009 and they sent us complimentary pizzas along with some staff to check up on us. They arranged a hire car for us to get back to Johannesburg when a tree at the bungalows fell on to my car and it had to be towed during the same storm.
The units are well maintained and the nature and surrounds are spectacular.
It s a very special place with a super golf course for those that play - mind the crocodiles and hippos!

The service was exceptional. Nolan, Prudence, house staff Susan(?) The grill men, all extremely pleasant and professional. The views, nature the grounds are beautiful. However, the rooms (Chalets) are dated and worn. The pool was in repair most of the week (without advanced notification), there is minimal programming and entertainment, and no shuttle service or public transportation into town. We paid the ultimate price when choosing to move from an extremely old and worn chalet #28, out in the back boonies to the offered chalet #9. Somewhat in better condition (actually pretty nice) BUT chalets 1-8 were being repaired with teams of individuals pounding, hammering, shoveling, communicating loudly, using some sort of machinery, carrying wheelbarrows back and forth past our back lounge area (which is also nice with bbq pit, large table and lawn chairs). This went on from early morning until about 1700 or 1800. Nope, didn't ask to move again. The first lady upon check in made it clear that they had nothing else since we were only Exchange guests.

One of my favourite places to spend a few days. The chalets are well equipped and generally far enough apart that one doesn't feel crowded. It has an 18 hole championship golf course for the golfers and there is lots to do in the area. My favourite is the chalets overlooking the hippo pond especially watching them come out at night to feed.

I own week 50 in a chalet... The resort is 10/10 in terms of service and maintenance. The restaurant however is truly shocking. It is dead quiet(for a reason) and way over staffed by people who simply don't care. The other reviews show a general and overwhelmingly positive towards the resort but the same comments on food. Senior management at TSOGO sun need to look into this as hotel management are clearly incapable. Would I recommend the resort? 8 days a week

Sabi River Sun chalets are always clean and neat with friendly service and are well equiped.
Located close to the Kruger National Park's Pabeni gate, local Checkers and other stores.
Amazing being able to view hippos, crocodiles and a large variety of bird life right from your doorstep.

An amazing resort that we try to visit on an annual basis. Suitable for all families whether to play golf, relax by the pool while the young kids are entertained, or as a base to travel to the Kruger and surrounding tourist attractions. All in all an experience not to be missed.

Probably some of the prettiest gardens in whole area. We had dinner in the new golf club house. Excellent food, and really good service. Not well signposted from the car park though. Lovely ambience in the evening

Hotel in beautful setting, on the banks of the Sabie river. A challenging18 holes golf course winds it way through well appointed self-catering luxury holiday chalets of various sizes. Hotel rooms and suites also avalable. Tennis, bowls and volleyball courts on the premises. Kruger National Park gates less than 30 mins away. Ultra friendly staff cater for every whim a guest might have. Ideal for family holidays, breakaway weekends or business events and team building excersizes. Enjoyed my time there.

One of the most hospitable hotels I have visited in South Africa. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to accommodate your needs. Other hotels should take lessons from Sabi River Sun Resort

Rooms were comfortable. Disappointed that we booked a room for 4 people and then we only get supplies for two people, 2 towels, 2 coffees etc. The food was really not good. The evening buffet was shocking actually. There should be consistency with hotel groups like Tsogo Sun. The food between yourselves and Riverside Sun cannot be compared. Actually not worth the R2700 for the night.

Playing here when taking a break from Joburg is always a pleasure. Their new club house, pro shop and bar area, which is also the halfway, is a major improvement since I last came in 2016. The fairways are manicured and always in good shape thanks also to good rains. Improvements in their aloe and succulent gardens around the course are noticeable - good water-wise planning for the future. The T-box distance and par markings are now looking a little old. The greens remain a challenge, some showing spots. The many water sections make for excellent photography and the occasional call of a Purple-crested Turaco makes the game a touch bit more interesting. The Safari Gold draught beer from Sabie Brewing Co. available at the Clubhouse after the game didn't touch sides.

Sabie River Sun is a beautiful resort and golf course. Hippos can be observed in the afternoons and walking paths along the course are wonderful for visitors who would like to take a stroll when all the golfers are gone. A large swimming pool is available and the restaurant serves delicious food. Not forgetting the new club house and pro shop which is really nice for golfers who cannot resist the urge to buy a memento from every course they play.
