The most amazing seafood. A local favorite and for the right reasons. I would suggest a reservation in a great spot inside as the bird wildlife does get close outside (I ve seen this first hand) it s romantic and delicious great for a celebration dinner as well. I suggest the Chilean Seabass for sure!! And any drink from the drink menu.

Service Amazed me ! Our Waiter was Santiago and I promise you I haven t had service like this in a while. Santiago was attentive, knowledgeable, and was very sweet. As a appetizer we ordered, GRILLED HERB MARINATED OCTOPUS. Before ordering I notified Santiago about my dislike for octopus because of my previous experience eating it and he told me he ll give me something else if I didn t like it. Let me tell you the octopus was better than I expected and I was satisfied. Yet Santiago still brought out something else and I really appreciated it. We had a cornbread and It was very good. For dinner we had the RUSTY PELICAN BOARD FOR TWO. If we dissect the entree we enjoyed the Whole Fried Snapper, New York strip, salad and Smoked Sweet Plantain Mash. The risotto was not a favorite but we ate the shrimp and lobster in it. For drinks we order the moscato and white sangria. The Moscato was very crisp and sweet. Sangria was enjoyable as well. Our eating view inside was really nice and romantic. At the end of our visit Santiago asked us what we were celebrating and he began to bring out a candle with tiny fruits. Him doing that made our night because he did not have to but he did. For more follow my Instagram: @a.differenttaste

First time visiting this establishment and will not return for our check to be over 300 dollars i should have been wowed. For starters we get there with reservations and had to still wait in an absurd long line. Once we get up front we are told we'd have to wait for a table no biggie. Once we were called for our table the hostess who was taking us to our table gets sidetracked and just leaves us standing in the middle of the restaurant. So my hubby goes to get some help and once we found someone to sit us she was very rude. She proceeded to sit us at a table in the corner and when i asked can we sit in a table with a view her answer was I guess. So once we are seated we wait 20 mins with no water or anyone to check on us. Once our waiter finally came he took our orders. I ordered a fillet mignon and it was so dry and tasted like dust. Once I told the waiter he did get me another one which was ok. I would never ever come back the service was not up to par for spending over 300 dollars . This restaurant needs some etiquette lessons because they did not make us feel welcome.

Came in last thursday the 13th, food was very fresh and well prepared, service was also nice.. reason why I didn t give a 5 star is because THE HOST, lady with short blonde hair and black dress ruined my mood as soon as we stepped in the door! She was yelling at my husbands face when she asked him if we were comming in for lunch, like back up you rude lady! And the whole time we were there she kept mean mugging us. Be careful if you see her

I ve been here a few times. It s a staple restaurant on Key Biscayne with picturesque views of downtown Miami.

The location is right on the water giving it that extra special feel, and makes you crave seafood.

The food, and there is very good. I really enjoy there happy hours if I can make it because it makes the price much more reasonable.

It is a bit fancy, but they welcome you if your coming off a boat too... you are on Key Biscayne after all

I am extremely disappointed of this restaurant. First, I made the appointment to have a table outside, and when I got there It was raining. I asked for at least a table by the window and they told me I had to wait. I decided to take the table they gave me which was all scratched and Dirty. At this point I was already upset. The server took more than 15 min to greet us, didn t even say her name, or recommend any dish. Whatever, for appetizer we ordered the pork croquettes which they tasted like crab meat, and the short rib empanadas which taste like a common empanadas, Nothing special.
Besides that, our main course was taking more than 30 min to arrive. Drinks took a while as well. The only GOOD thing was the corn bread which was awesome. The manager( Devin Perez) took care of the us, and apologized. He was really nice and invited us go back again. It was the first time coming to this well known restaurant and I had high expectations, but it literally ruined my anniversary night .

Been here a few times, not coming back. I wouldn't recommend coming here on a Saturday, they are too busy so you will have very very slow service and very rushed food. I had two appetizers , one that I had before that was excited to eat, ended being very rushed and blend. I order the lobster for 85 that sounded on menu full of flavor but being one of the most disappointing lobsters I had and most expensive.. though I do like how they cut it in half.. but again it wasnt as described on the menu, not sure if it's the meal or it was rushed due to it being a Saturday maybe lunch is better ... nice servers. But not enough time to reach the customer. I'm not super picky but waiting 45 minutes for the bread. 45 minutes for bill is too much, they need more servers and better cooks on Saturdays

A nice evening out with great views. We had a few questions due to dietary concerns, and our server (Chris L.) was very knowledgeable on the spot about things; anything he was unsure of, he didn't guess and came back with full answers. The food was prepared wonderfully and we were well taken care of.

Dining here was a major disappointment. The build out and view were beautiful however the food was hit or miss and the service was appallingly negligent considering the reputation it's supposed to have. I could even understand the FOH issues if it was a busy Friday night but this was a Wednesday and half the restaurant was empty. I was really hoping for a pleasant experience but considering the money that was spent and what we received in exchange, there are much better options throughout Miami and South Florida.

This place is amazing the view is beautiful, the food is exquisite and the attention of its staff at the height of the restaurant, they are attentive, friendly and willing to give you the best service

I was expecting a better menu, more fish menu but now it looks like a McDonald's kid's menu they are even serving sushi and hamburgers also they either were or are famous for their salad but it's gone from the menu maybe was because of the hour we got there 4:30 pm don't know, however service was excellent so the dessert

Beautiful view! Food was good, but not the presentation or portion size relative to the price. With that being said - good for a special event, or vacationer, but locals probably know of other more reasonable locations with the same quality.

Came with a small group. Took my order then 20 mins later they still havent taken the order of our second table. They were stingy with the bread, the ceaser salad was nasty and when i was walking to my car, there was a boot on it. I parked right next to the Big Rusty Pelican Sign and made sure there were no "do not park " signs next to my car. There was one sign that said NO FISHING right next to my spot but thats about it. I Asked the Hostess what they can do and she was rude enough to tell me there were signs every where that say no parking. Should have told her to point them out to me since she wanted to be smart about it. Anyways, the manager was just as lost as she was saying it happens all the time and they cant do anything. You are paying $50 a plate for the view and thats about it. First and Last time there

Our experience started great. Our waiter was very professional and polite. The view was also quite nice. But that's where the good part stops. We ordered some oysters and were missing a few. We had to request the rest of our order. Next, we ordered a medium rare steak, that came medium well. When they brought out the replacement, it was very very rare. We didn't even eat it. We took it home so I could cook it properly. Lastly, we ordered some lobster. With the first bite I felt immense pain in my mouth! There was a razor sharp piece of bone or shell in the meat and I cut my mouth pretty good. I had to go to the rest room to stop the bleeding. I think they need to rethink who they have as a chef there. I will not be coming back, that's for sure. Honestly I feel like the pub down the road would have been better food. Especially disappointed considering the price.

View was spectacular. Food and service were extremely underwhelming. Raw bar selections were mediocre and swordfish was overcooked. Waiter was only really around to take the order and drop the check. Definitely don't feel the need to return.

Everything was fine, my fiancee ate the lobster rissotto and it was good, I ate the filet mignon, it was a lot of money for that dish, it wasnt that good, the dessert was delicious, the waiter was a very nice man. $ 44 dollars is too much for that filet mignon, I don't recommend it.

The food was excellent as well as the Service. We ordered the swordfish and the filet as well as the calamari. The calamari was a little to rubbery but he rest of the food was really good. We got the plantain mash and the rusty fries as sides. Overall good, can t beat that view of Miami.

Had a 730 reservation. Arrived on time and was told to wait at the bar. No seating in bar area. It was an important night for me and my lady and it wasn't that great start to the experience. Chefs were great as well as the server. Hostess not so much. Disappointed that they over book their tables. Seems like poor management. Won't be back.

Last weekend I attended the Miami University Graduation at the Banquet Hall upstairs. The view is amazing!!! The girls that provided service to the tables, w/ water, coffee , drinks were very good and attentive. The man that was the manager should be replaced with some one that knows how to run a banquet. All the meals were prepaid, head count and seating were assigned ahead of time, so absolutely NO reason to run out of food, 50 -70 people (out of 300) had only some chicken and potoatoes left, all the rest was gone ($40./ plate for lunch) all desserts ran out also . Plates on the buffet were gone and not replaced in a timely fashion, guests had to wait for him to go and get plates. NO butter at all on the buffet or tables for the rolls. Just very poorly managed.

A great location for a special dinner in Miami! The price is a bit higher, but of course you also pay something for the view. But that doesn't decrease the quality of the food. Definitely worth a visit!

A Miami classic! Whether you are visiting or live here, The Rusty Pelican always comes through for special occasions, work events, and family dinners. Their outdoor seating allows you to enjoy a fantastic view of downtown Miami and Brickell. Try the seafood tower or their other delicious signature dishes; you can t go wrong!

The wait was too long even with the reservation, it was 5.45 before we arrived and we sat at the bar to have a drink, at 5.30 we got close and we told the Hosters that we were there for the reservation, the girl said ok We told her, we went back to the bar and at 6 o'clock in the afternoon we went back to see what was happening, and then she says ok we are not ready, at that time she gave us the pin to let us know when a table was available, instead of giving us the pin when we went to tell him the first time and we waited more than 45 minutes more. Afterwards at the table, the attention was very good, the food spectacular and the view wonderful. The prices are not bad, although the drinks are very expensive and a bit bland. If it had not been for so much waiting, it would have been perfect.

First of all, the bottomless mimosas are no joke. Michael does not play around when filling those mimosas up. Great service. Definitely made me feel special. Food was delicious !! Desert is definitely my favorite with the white chocolate mousse. I want to come again but at night time when the lights outside are on :)

Don t know what people see so special about this restaurant. The only thing I liked was the view to the water! And boats. Other than that i have eaten much better for way less. I asked for a filet mignon looked like burnt chicken breast. For all the fame it has it s not a big deal.

I was married at the Rusty Pelican in the mid 1990s and I can still recall how beautiful this event was and how excellent the food was. I haven't had the opportunity to return recently but the next time that I choose to eat great seafood and I find myself in Miami, I will return without much hesitation.
