Nice patio, not too much of a college crowd. Great fish and chips.

Absolutely the best fish and chips anywhere in Arizona. They have several other very tasty menu items too. Make sure to try the bread pudding dessert as well.

Great drink selections too as long as you realize you are at a Irish pub.

Awesome place, killer staff, fantastic food. I've worked there on two separate occasions, and even enjoyed not being a customer. Staff is uniquely trained and knowledgeable about their expansive whiskey selection, and several have been working there over 10 years. The bar fixtures and furniture were all imported from Ireland and are super homey. Trivia nights always draw a dedicated crowd, and the patio is lovely when it's not hellaciously hot (they are diligent with the misters and giant umbrellas, but hey, it's Arizona). All the hot-selling items are delicious, but my faves have to be the Fish and Chips (I crave this fish now that I no longer live in the Tempe area...no other fried fish I've had comes close) and the Bangers 'n' Mash (that gravy, my lord...I could bathe in it).
I've had many a good (and weird/wild?) night here. Grab a cigar, some whiskey, catch some good musical performances, and don't skip St. Patty's Day.

We had a very pleasant lunch here on our last day. The setting is lovely and the pizza was very tasty. The menu seemed a bit limited unless you want pizza.

Didn't get to meet Granuaile, but the fish and chips were as good as advertised!

If you are in a hurry to eat this might not be the best place but if you are looking for a fun atmosphere and great food this is it.

Excellent service from our bartender David! Thank you for the great experience. On point with drinks, arriving when we wanted them but leaving our group to talk and discuss when needed! It is a truly rare skill to know when and where to pop in for refills, and David has this art mastered. If you see a gentleman wearing glasses serving your drinks here, you know you re in good hands.

The closest thing you will find to a real Irish pub in Tempe. Food and drink have always been good here.

We dined on the bar side of this pub. The young lady who was our waitress was seriously outstanding. Very nice, check on us at least 5 time or more. The Rula Bula house wings were the best I've tried in years. We were there around 7:30. Nice atmosphere

I'm giving three stars today simply because I know today, St. Patrick's Day, was not their best by a long shot. This is our go to place for Irish comfort food for the gf who's Irish.

We had two Dr. Peppers for drinks which the syrup ran out, we notified two different servers and they were never replaced nor were we asked about alternative drinks, we couldn't even get the staff to get us two seconds to ask either. The food arrived cold and we had to send back the gfs order because we ordered the Corned Beef Platter, not the sandwich. We were told that it was being rushed but still came out cold after 20 mins and had an odd greasy flavor on everything. The "Shepherd's" pie felt rushed and was bland but was at least warm when it got to the table. We had to ask several times for silverware and napkins before receiving a few forks and no napkins, which made it take even longer before we could eat. Others around who were oldering alcohol had much better service than we did, gf doesn't drink and I'm on antibiotics rn so can't drink.

I'm really hoping that this was a fluke and not the "new norm" for such a great place.

This is a great place to eat. Good service. Love Love the place. OF COURSE. A little Guiness helps.

This was an awesome Irish Pub! They have actual wood from Ireland at the bar that was flown in making them one of the only official Irish bars in AZ. So go and appreciate a little bit of Ireland, they have friendly staff, and great food!

Kevin Hearne is right Rula Bula does serve the BEST Fish and Chips in the State. Found out about this place reading the Iron Druid Series of books written by Kevin Hearne. Was shocked and amazed when I looked it up and found it really existed. While I was eating at one of the booths I had to make sure there was not an invisible dog hiding under the table. Great atmosphere with good food and drink. Before paying for parking go inside to get your two hour free parking code. I will be visiting this place again with the family.

Cozy little pub on mill ave great food and history to be had here. Eat indoor or out on back patio.

Best fish and chips I have found in Arizona. Good selection of beer and the staff are very friendly. The banger's and mash are also tasty. If you call ahead the staff will give you a code to use in the parking next door fro 2 hours free parking.

What I always order is the Sheperd's Pie. I never had it and I've seen it in cooking shows before. The fact you can add cheese on top makes it richer. The meat filling has some carrots, peas, and onions. I tasted red wine in there to make that meat filling rich. The mashed potato was buttery and soft. I felt like I don't need sides whenever I eat it but if I'm drinking some alcohol, its necessary.

Meh. Very "faux" Irish. Don't sit outside if you don't plan on smoking a cigar or smelling like one.

If you park in the lot right by them, you can get a code for two hours free parking, too. Just remember to ask before you eat!

Only come here because my friend likes to. I just really don't enjoy it. The misters get you soaked. Seems to generally be a pool of water out on the patio. Drinks are over priced. Some of the bartenders are nice.

This place. This is the best Irish pub I've ever been to. Food and service was killer. Prices were super good. This is a place that is featured in a wonderful fantasy novel that I have read and when I knew I was only going to be 20 minutes from it I had to go. The staff was all too happy to let me geek out on the bar and food and were super happy to tell me stories of other fans. I had a great time here and cannot recommend this place enough. Get the fish and chips. I have never seen a place execute on fish and chips better than this place.

I had delicious bangers and mash that were incredibly authentic. My buddy had the biggest and most succulent fish and chips I've ever seen. With real Irish beer on tap, you can't beat this Irish pub.

Don't go here and get a burger (not that they aren't good, it's just that they have much more to offer). Order something Irish. Bangers and mash, cornbeef, shepard's pie; anything like that. You won't be disappointed.

Great venue with everything you would expect at an Irish Pub...whiskey, Pimms, Shepards pie, fish and chips, potato skins. Their chicken curry over quinoa is wonderfully spicy. The even have a half serving of bread pudding so you can have a one person dessert. They do sell cigars which can be smoked on the back patio (so don't sit outside if you are bothered by smoke).

Good atmosphere. The Mac and Cheese burger was a bit over-hyped and the meat was a bit more cooked than I ordered.

This place is great if you want to come in with your family and have some nice good old Irish comfort food. The only downside is at night, specifically Friday and Saturday nights, they want to pack the place as much as they can. Suggestion is getting there early or have a reservation. It's very hard for the staff to keep up with everyone as people try to play musical chairs and ignore any of the cdc guidelines posted all around the establishment. I believe the only person that actually tries to regulate the guidelines is the manager Ben.

Play good music! went during Halloween. Lots of country music.. had a live bad performing. Beer was a little expensive though.

Service was slow and indifferent. Food was just ok. The place wasn't busy, but it took forever for the server to come to our table. Beer selection was the usual. Meh.

Food and drinks were amazing. Service was slow and we had to ask several times for forgotten drinks. Music choice is good but volume is so high that it is hard to hear someone at the end of the table. Saturday night and we had no problem getting a table outside.

Rula Bula Irish Pub is the place to get a pint of your favorite Irish draught or some of the best Irish food in the Phoenix area.

You will find Guinness, Harp, Kilkenny and Smithwick on tap, plus plenty of Irish liquor drinks on the menu.

The food menu is full of Irish dishes, but my two favorites are the Fish & Chips or the Corned Beef & Cabbage. Both are made in traditional ways with the fish and chips made fresh to order. The corned beef is made in house, cooked to perfection, sliced thin and served with horseradish sauce. Every time I go I have to battle myself to decide which one I will enjoy.

Start with some pub style appetizers to share. I recommend the Irish Chips with Dipping Sauce, and order of Wings and the Spinach and Artichoke Dip.

The atmosphere is what we Americans would think or and Irish pub and it's quaint and fun. The bar gets busy on weekends and offers some great love music. Prepare for crazy crowds during St. Patrick's Day and leading up.

Rula Bula is one of the most fun and best eateries in The Valley and should be on everyone's must try lists.

A "Must Stop" on Mill Avenue. A Real Irish bar where you'll get a "Proper Pint". Guinness was involved in the design so it's not just some shamrocks pasted on the wall. Menu is excellent and the even have a vegan menu now so everyone can get what they want. Highly recommended.

I came here twice during my visit to the area because I really enjoyed my first meal. I had the veggie shephards pie with brussel sprouts, and the Mac n cheese. Both were great, and the brussel sprouts and apples actually felt like a delicious and fancy side.

I can admit, when I came the first night the service was lame. Stood around a while with no one saying hello or telling me to be seated, and it was not busy. Then sat, and waited 10 minutes with no one coming by. Finally just went to the bar to have my drink and a meal.

So some of the servers could use some improvement ... Who doesn't acknowledge you when you walk into a somewhat dead scene?
