This place is in my top 5 of best restaurants. The wait is not too long, the atmosphere is pretty chill, and the food! I usually just get a house salad, but every now and then I get an extra food item (chicken, a burger, crab dip, etc.) I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a calm environment with great foods.
Pretty good but not as good as I remember... didn't care for the style chicken fingers....too much breading... croissants are too die for any make it worth the trip!

We visited this restaurant on 8/28/20. We put our name on the list like normal but they didn t have a PA system or a buzzer like we are used to and of course my husband had us go to the side of the building to sit down. The lady told us it would be 35-45 mins but I saw several go out and in and I told him we should check, finally I went up and the manager said they had been looking for us. He came back and took the appetizer off our bill. The service was excellent and friendly we placed our orders and when we received our food my steak was well done but I had ordered medium. The waitress saw it and agreed, I really don t like to complain and I ve never sent anything back, I usually just get A1 and eat but she insisted one getting me another one. Again the manager came out with the steak and made sure it was ok, I was embarrassed, again he took it off our bill. Over all the service was great, the food was absolutely worth the wait! The steak will melt in your mouth! I was very impressed. It was the best place we ate on vacation.

Good food, although my wife's flatbread had been burned. The manager had another prepared and took it off the bills and sent us home with some complimentary croissant buns. A waiter dropped a spoon on the floor and waitresses, waiters and managers passed it and stepped over it coming and going from the kitchen at least 50 times before an employee with a sweeper picked it up. But, I have to say those employees were hustling in that place.

Hearty pub grub with a few surprises. The management runs a tight shop and it is easy to see that the staff is happy but not allowed to run wild. Food is tasty, temps are tight, pleasant setting.
Food was ok. Our waitress was the best! Menu is is small but I think that's a good thing especially for indecisive people.
Went here recently with my Ha-Ha Sisters for lunch, and it was great as usual! Our wait person was attentive, and pleasant, and didn't try to rush us though we stayed a little longer than normal since it was beyond rush hour and some tables were empty. The food was delicious as always and the restaurant appeared to be clean. Prices are competitive. Rucker John's is always a great place to go when you want great food at great prices.

Food was great, but we were completely out of drinks and while I was looking for our waitress, I seen three of them standing at the bar socializing. I had to get up and ask them for someone to come and refill our drinks.
The food has always been delicious and the staff is nothing less than exceptional. If you're in town looking for a casual vibe with great food this should be your only stop!

We are currently sitting in the restaurant almost 2 hours after arriving and just receiving our food which is ice cold on top of extra late. We we're just offered desserts when they clearly see we are with special needs adults and they can not eat desserts. I was recommended to go here and I will make sure to never return and let everyone know to never to waste their money.
For a chain restaurant, they had a particularly creative menu and the croissants with honey butter were amazing! A table near us had an issue with an order and the manager and out and made it right.
My favorite restaurant to go to for a really fresh salad. Both the House and Chief are my favorite salad. Just depends on how hungry I am. The servers are friendly and very nice. The manager is quick to respond and correct any mistake made. The salads are priced great !

I actually heard the bartender say to someone that was picking up a to go order for somebody that they dont give a damn about those customers they are not their problem so the driver had to wait like 20 min for food...If i could give this place a 0 i would... bartenders and staff are some of the rudest people iv ever seen...

I recently went to Rucker Johns... The food is pretty good, but it is time to add a couple of new items to the menu. I will continue to go there,
even though the commercial is really stupid, with the woman sleeping in her car, and someone honks and she looks at her ring on her hand and realizes that she was dreaming... This commercial has nothing to do with a restaurant, and is just plain silly.

RJ is by far the best place to eat in Wilmington. The food is ALWAYS consistently awesome. The service is great even when they are busy. We have never had a bad experience and as locals, we eat there often. The cajun shrimp wrap, prime rib, shrimp BLT, seared tuna, and the black jack ribeye are always awesome. Even the fat is good on the black jack ribeye. Best ribeye ever!!!!!Steaks are always cooked perfect. All of the sides are delicious. I cant forget the croissants! They come with the salad or you can order a basket. They melt in your mouth. Tonight we had the catch of the day which was grouper. We passed on the cajun seasoning and it was absolutely delicious. Best grouper ever! The apple crisp dessert is to die for. The wine list is phenomenal. I order via curbside a lot as well. My order is always on time and perfect. There is also outdoor dining that is available for smoking and nonsmoking customers. Great environment when weather permits!!! We always eat outdoors. You can not go wrong with Rucker Johns. Consistency is the key. Food that is awesome and consistent every time is tough to find. RJ is always a great experience. Hands down five stars! Keep it up RJ!!!!!

We are regular diners at Rucker Johns in Wilmington. The food is always delicious and the waitresses are so friendly and attentive. We always have a great experience here. Wish they had a location closer to the Wrightsville beach, but still worth the drive from anywhere!
