Shrimp & bacon burrito, when I'm busy and need something delicious, healthy and fast! , Love mixing different salsas together

I have always loved Rubios ever since they opened here is San Diego, food is fresh and tastes great! Prices are reasonable to.

Fish burrito was tasty yet a little small for the price. Good customer service very friendly.

They recommended a nice bowl; included rice beans mango sauce salad, chicken boy was it delicious a bit pricey but good food.

Rubios has a great variety of food and it was really good as well.

The fish tacos never disappoint. I was in and out quickly and the cashier was really nice and helpful.

The test kitchen is cool because sometimes they get food that other rubios do not have. The price is a little much, though.

Seafood at this spot - excellent. Filled me up. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. It has a great interior.

I find it odd that they put the lettuce at the bottom of the bowl of hot rice, beans, and chicken. I was disappointed that they don't have lemons.

The staff are always so nice there! Gave me a free drink for being a regular customer every Monday.

First time at RUBIO'S aw man the California bowl with chicken, was amazing !!! I'm definitely going back for sure !!

Delicious fish tacos and salads. Pretty decent burritos

Thought this would be just another version of a fast food chain, but I was definitely wrong. Like the fact they have sustainable seafood and a salsa bar. Salmon taco is worth coming for, but the whole experience is good. Great food, fast service and great salsa.

I would have given it 5 * if it was still a Test Kitchen with new items to try... now it's just another Rubios. Food is good, it's not as good as it once was however.

Not the best food. Fish taco were great when they'll were $1-2 but not worth the price now.

For a QSR restaurant, this place is awesome. Great food and reasonable prices. The fish taco especial plate is my favorite.

What isn't to love about Rubio's. The Clairemont Mesa location is great. It was remodeled a few years ago. I didn't think it could be any better, but there is now more seating as well as having a variety of seating. There are tables/chairs, a counter/stools, bistro type table/stools and out door seating. It's a fun place to eat. The food is amazing and I love that they are always coming up with new menu items. I would highly recommend this Rubio's.

It was just ok. Fish was not crispy like it should have been

Up until a few years ago I think Rubio's was prepared with a microwave. Kind of like Taco Bell or Burger King or whatever. And that's not the kind of food I enjoy eating. I've eliminated microwaves in my life including in my own home because of the radiation. There's so much radiation in the world right now including cell phones and Wi-Fi and so on. So, I DON'T want it in my food. Anyway, Rubio's, now I believe, is fresh grilled like the ad says. I get the Coastal Trio here for about ten bucks and it is three rolled tacos, two are fish and one is shrimp. And they are terrific. So if you haven't tried Rubio's lately give them a try. You'll enjoy the food.

But $9.50 for a tiny burrito is a hard sell in San Diego.

Decent place to eat if you don't want authentic Mexican. More of a Baja Fresh menu.

Great place for tasty seafood. Service is always timely even when they have a full house. Service treated us so kindly. It has a good feel to it. They have so many great reviews for a reason.

Its rare that I give Rubios more than 3 stars. Their staff is not the best, 4th and 5th stars are based on customer service and how clean the place is.

This place is sort of the Chickfila of Mexican food, good food at a decent price. It's a sit down restaurant and what would probably be called quick service, no tipping required and you get your own drinks and salsas. There are also very limited beer and wine options.

Clean. Friendly staff. Fish tacos seem to be hit and miss on how large the portions of fish are.

Now that I live on the East coast Rubio's is home town food. Love their fish everything! Salsa bar. Most meals come with great chips.

I love the quesadillas. They put a lot in them and give you a lot of sour cream and guacamole and chips with them. I like the tacos and burritos too, I'm more of a shrimp fan. Which they do well grilled

I have been a loyal Rubios enthusiast since 1989 when I had my first one as a 9 year old. Literally eat a pesky combo once a week. So obsessed my husbands proposal included fish tacos from Rubios! We used to love the Kearny Mesa Test Kitchen, and ordered take out all the time! Recently, they've taken away the order ahead counter so you cannot pay for your phone in order when you arrive, but must wait for all the others in the general line to place their orders, which means all our food is soggy and cold by the time we get it home. I spoke to them about this and the employee couldn't care less. I will no longer be going to this Rubios since they obviously do not care to retain the business of their current mobile order clientele.

I have been eating at Rubios since there were only two of them. It was an odd relationship, because I had to be forced to try a fish taco, the ingredients of which did not sound good to me. Corn tortilla, cabbage, white sauce? Weird. Yet combined, it is a flavor that became on of my favorite foods, one of the passions that defines me. And over the years, as I have watched and helped (through eating many, many tacos) Rubios grow, it has only gotten better. Highly recommend you try it.

This is Rubios clairmont mesa. I find that all Rubios experiences are different from each other. This resturant is fast, efficient and clean. Brujillo is an awesome manager and takes really great care of me every time! Way to go Rubios

Excellent customer service. I always order for takeout during their busy lunch hour. If I have to wait a few mi.ites it's fine because they are great at updating me and keeping it positive even if there's a line out the door. Shrimp is always grilled to perfection. Salads are plentiful. Beer battered fish is perfectly crispy.

so disappointed with my 3-taco pickup when i got home there were no salsa and no napkins in the sealed takeout bag. they probably cost-cutting on the salsa and napkins?

This place is ok. Just okay. The food is good to great and the service is just good enough to be mediocre. A little enthusiasm goes a long way. No complaints.

Rubio's fish tacos are the best around... The sauce used inside if the tacos are from an old recipie that still stands the test of taste and time even today...

One of the cool things is their condiment salsa counter... Always super fresh varieties of salsas, onions, cilantro and Mexican styled carrots are to die for...

It's a very popular place with all ages and income ranges..

I had the shrimp burrito. At first glance it looked a bit small, but I'm used to burritos stuffed with rice and beans. This had a nice balance of shrimp and other fillers that didn't make a gut buster, but a nice meal. Great chips, great salsa, friendly staff, and a clean restaurant.

My favorite go to when I feel like Mexican food. Clean and healthy. Wish they have more variety in their menu.

Wasnt very busy walked right up to counter and ordered a original grilled salmon taco. Taco was well assembled and appetizing...the taste of the taco was pretty good. Would go back again.
