For the first time being in Jamaica and staying at an all inclusive Sandals Resort...I was blown away with the level of service and attention to the most minute details. Our personal butler and his Co butler were very good about not pestering us when we did not need their services. The weather was great, the food was great, the whole experience was great. Matter of fact we booked for next year.

Worst vacation ever!!! Do not go to Sandals Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios!!! The staff are rude and lazy. Staff are more interested in fraternizing with each other rather than taking care of guests. Staff sighs anytime you ask for something. Staff sit around and flirt with each other. Staff are much nicer next door at Sandals Ochi where you can eat if you stay at Royal Plantation. I would definitely recommend Sandals Ochi instead of Royal Plantation. The staff at Sandals Ochi were so nice and accommodating (a completely different experience that Sandals Royal Plantation). My husband and I had a great experience at Beaches in Turks and Caicos last year. We had such a good time that we decided to go with the Sandals company again. The experience at Royal Plantation was awful, far below the experience last year in Turks and Caicos. Royal Plantation has a completely empty French restaurant that staff say is full every night, but it is not. They won't let you eat at the French restaurant unless you have a reservation. Royal Plantation only has a couple of nighttime restaurants, so your food options are limited, especially if you don't have a reservation at the French restaurant (unless you get bused over to Sandals Ochi). Staff won't let you pick your table at the French restaurant. Staff get upset when you ask to sit inside rather than on the windy humid terrace. They say the restaurant seating inside is booked, meanwhile there's not a single person eating inside the restaurant. It was very confusing. My husband and I laughed about how absurd it was several nights in a row. My husband would joke around with me about being able to "pull some strings" to get us into the completely empty French restaurant. My husband and I signed up for a $323 couples massage, which was mediocre at best. When we were checking out, they tried to charge $475 and said they gave us a "special technique" massage. When asked about the "special technique," we were told it's a lighter massage (even though both my husband and I requested deep tissue) and we would get a candle with the less expensive massage. I needed them to repeat what was said (so you're telling me with the less expensive massage package you get a deeper massage and an extra candle)... There were so many absurdities. I cannot list the all. The only good thing about Sandals Royal Plantation was a butler named Chadsworth. I will never ever return to Royal Plantation. I believe Sandals is a good all inclusive company, but Royal Plantation was a horrible experience and I do not recommend that anybody go here for vacation. I have been a lot of places and without a doubt Sandals Royal Plantation was the worst vacation I ever had.

Brilliant. Rooms could maybe do with an update but it was a comfy bed and everything was functional. Food yummy. Small resort but thats good. You get to know the staff and they know you. Very relaxing.
If you are looking for a boutique hotel with every suite/room butler served and want a quite relaxing vacation with the most attentive staff on the planet then this is it. The Royal Plantation is our home from home and we cannot praise it enough, every member of staff at the resort ensure that you want for nothing. From the top down the General Manager Mr Arnold Nugent and his team excel themselves in their commitment to fulfilling your own individual needs ensuring you want to return again and again. Although we travel to many other places we always revisit Sandals Royal Plantation at least once a year and have already booked for later this year and next year. Thank you all for making our vacations so special and making us feel like part of your personal family.

We love the Royal Plantation! The staff is SO Professional and Friendly!! You never walk by an employee without them speaking to you. All the Butlers are "Top of the Line"! Our Butlers were Ricdardo and Kadesha. They were AMAZING!! Some other "Stand-out" members are Jason, Stephanie, and Cleon. Try the French restaurant, it is out of this world! Winston will take good care of you!
All the food is DELICIOUS!! Their chef is wonderful!! You won't be sorry after you go to the Royal Plantation.

Poor Service for what should be considered five star. Visited a friend who checked two nights ago from New Jersey... They room was not as advertised. They complained of a dirty bathroom with a hole in the tub... oh and the Butler Elite serviced sucked... this one i witnessed first hand

They have the best all butler suite services, seclusion and intimacy at its best. The spa services are phenomenal and there is access to water sports and golf at this resort. The food, drinks and liquid are perfect for every taste bud.
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in April, 2015 here; it was fabulous!! The accomidations were really great; can't believe we had butlers. The food was to die for and the people working at the resort couldn't have been nicer. We are planning on going back as soon as we possibly can and can't wait to get back! You have to go and enjoy an adults only resort that is the best I have been to in the Caribbean!

We had problems from beginning to end... they didn t try to accommodate us in any way... the service sucked the butler tried to get out of all and Amy responsibility... even a candle for our anniversary they couldn t provide... the food was terrible... no selection what so ever and if you asked for anything they made you feel like you are bothering them

All inclusive resort perfect for complete relaxation and pampering. Sandals have day activities available averaging $125 per person depending on the activity. Way over priced and cheaper if you just rent a car and do them yourself. Great hospitality. Butlers took care of us well.

Royal Plantation resort was amazing. The resort is awesome. The staff was incredibly accommodating including our butlers Sheryl and Hector. The beach staff was also awesome (lifeguards and beach butlers). Excellent food and drink selection. Well done, would happily stay again.

This is our third time at this resort (second visit was six years ago). Since the first two visits, both the entertainment, food qualities, and menu options/varieties have diminished. Considering the expense, it should be the same/or better quality that we experienced the first two visits. I attribute this decrease in quality and value to the responsibility of the ownership and top management (decisions to cut cost to their "premier" or flag ship resort).
Of course, the location and resort is still absolutely beautiful and a prime choice.
The best of the best...EVERY staff member was absolutely incredible! They are the reason that drives my three star rating to four! If the ownership and top management want to increase the resort back to the quality of the past (reference above), I would be more than happy to give a 5 star rating!
My wife and I stayed here in early June 2017 for our honeymoon. What a great choice it was. This resort is the ultimate in luxury, we did not have to worry about anything for 10 days. The resort is isolated and very private. There are only 72 rooms and we never felt crowded or had to ever wait for a chair at the beach or a table for a meal. Our butlers were great and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. They checked in with us at breakfast each day to ask what we needed for the day and if we needed dinner reservations made. The food was amazing at all the restaurants. We ventured next door to Ochi for lunch one day and dinner another to try some of their restaurants, and they were just as good. It was nice to return to the quieter more relaxed vibe at Royal Plantation.

This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. This was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary (2 years late!). Yes, it is very expensive, but we got so much for the money: we felt so cared for and coddled by everyone--no one will pass you by until he is sure "all is well." Ask your butler early in the week to make reservations for any restaurant you might wish to try; Valentinos fills up quickly if you are staying here at Royal Plantation. Come and enjoy yourself: it really does feel like home!

The service here was outstanding. I had two butlers and they were seriously some of the sweetest people I've ever met. I felt safe and secure the entire time and with traveling to Jamaica basically alone for the first time that was a big deal and all the staff made sure each guest was okay! I had a beautiful view. The water is so beautiful. I highly reccomended and can't wait to go back
