Breakfast was the highlight room was nice and clean but bed was a bit too small for a double I would say. We had to park in the shopping center as there was not much parking spaces at the hotel

Had a great few days in this hotel. Great location for car, bus and train. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Restaurant food really good. Afternoon tea lovely. Clean and comfortable. Best breakfast, great choice. Will definitely be back

We had lovely stay in Inverness. The hotel was very good although the room needed a bit of a lick of paint, although a great size and clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast had everything to set you up for the day ahead. All the staff pleasant and very helpfull. If back in Inverness we will go back to the Royal Highland.

Its an old building so really squeeky floor boards and could hear room above walking, decor quite outdated, got woken up one morning early (just before 7am) to the sound of bottle bin being emptied. But clean and tidy bedroom and bathroom. Single bedroom pretty good size. Very good location, next to train station and only 5 minute walk from bus station. Would stay again.

Lovely Hotel, enjoyed the decor and location and interactions with staff. However sleeping was difficult due to thin walls and loud constant pigeon sex outside our room. Our radiator didn't turn off, so it was very stuffy and the bedside lamps were about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

First impression is very good, beautiful lobby / lobby with great flair.

Unfortunately, that's all that's positive.
The rooms are extremely in need of renovation and unreasonable.
In addition to mold and crumbling paint, it is so loud at night that sleep is out of the question.
Construction work in and around the hotel is carried out with noisy machines, as it always happens.

I can not recommend this hotel!

Went for Cream Tea - due to a reasonable price being offered in such a historic venue. Service was prompt and efficient, however after ordering & paying, we were advised no full sized scones remained, as we were presented with smaller ones. We were told we could also select a further item from the cakes section instead. This was appreciated.

Really lovely hotel. Room was amazing with a 4 poster bed and jacuzzi bath. Only let downs were that you can't set up a bar tab and when ordering room service you have to pay cash, which is not clearly stated anywhere, and you can't get it added to the room bill.

Built in 1856 for the Highland Railway Company it was formally known as the Station Hotel. this hotel has a staircase that is thought to have inspired the owner of the White Star Line to have a similar one installed on the RMS Titanic. The staff could not be more helpful to the guests or visitors and the meals are of a high quality with good sized portions at a very competitive price. the cream teas are to die for.

Literally right next door to the train station which was super convienient. Check in isn't until 3pm ( and they will not budge) which can suck if you get to town early. They do offer a place to lock your luggage though.
Walking distance to many sites like Inverness Castle and the Ness river walk.
Old style rooms, but it's a very old hotel.
Wifi doesn't work well in the rooms. It kicks you off every few minutes.
Breakfast was great! Super good food and a good variety. The front desk staff were a little cold and not very friendly, but the staff in the kitchen for breakfast were super friendly. One even wished me "Happy International Women's Day." Most of the people staying there were older people, which could be a pro or con depending on the demographic you're seeking. The attached restruant was not very good food. I recommend venturing out for food.

OK

The old station hotel, it is in a great location in the centre of the city. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good - self-service buffet style. The room where it is served is a bit big and characterless but the foyer area and bar are very pleasant.

Classic Highland Scottish hotel, very convenient for central Inverness. The rooms are as would be expected, high ceilings, very comfy beds. Decor is classical, a little bit shabby in places but echos the period nature of the place. Food in the restaurant (Ash) was ok (bit pricey, bit we had a Groupon deal with food included).

This is the second time I have used the Royal Highland Hotel for essential travel between home and work. I am very pleased that they take their COVID precautions very seriously. They have always been helpful when I've contacted them by phone or through the booking.com app. The rooms are warm and comfortable with very good baths/showers. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed two days in Inverness. This hotel was excellent. Very clean room, excellent breakfast and the evening meal was really good. Staff were very welcoming and nothing was a problem. Would definately stay here again.

Great 3 star hotel with lots of charm and character that's located in the perfect location. The staff is friendly and they are eager to help. Not to mention the delicious breakfast every morning. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel . Old fashioned elegant feel. Very clean and the building is just beautiful. All staff very nice and the rooms charming and comfortable. A welcoming feel to it too . The whole ambience of the place suited me just fine compared to some I've stayed in. Very welcoming to my child and always had a cheery word for her.

It is a peculiar hotel, the years are noticeable, but it is very clean and careful. The staff very attentive. The bed comfortable but our room had a significant slope on the floor. The dining room in the Wallace room More

Dreadful Hotel . Outdated room decor . Paper coming off walls . Cracked tiles and sink in bathroom with rusted fittings . Cooked breakfast was cold on both mornings and over cooked . Asked twice if there was anything we didn't want. Got it wrong on both occasions. Ash Restaurant was overpriced. Won't stay here again .

Beautiful staircase in the entry. Can't comment on the rooms as there was a problem with the fire alarms so the hotel had already arranged alternative accommodation when we came to check in.

Having stayed with you on many occasions, I have found standards to be very high. The hotel is warm and welcoming and staff friendly and helpful. When I have stayed alone, I have felt very comfortable especially in the public areas. Facilities are good.

The food is of a high standard.

Only once did I find the bathroom a wee bit chilly, but apart from that you will always be my first choice when I come to Inverness from the Isle if Lewis

Could do with being a bit more cleaner and probably being updated a wee bit. The service was good, can't complain, prices of drinks are quite pricey but in line with most pubs/hotels. I like the size of the place, and the architecture, reminds me of hotels ect that I go to when in Canada. Seems to be used more fr bus tours and people that use scotrail

This was our first visit to Scotland. One of the things we enjoyed the most was soaking in the history. Our stay at the Royal Highland Hotel was very enjoyable. The staff, service, room and dining were top notch. We look forward to visiting once again.

The building is nice and the rooms clean - that's about all that's positive. We had two rooms, a single and a double. The single was defunitely not one of the advertised "spacious rooms with very high ceiling". It had an exceptionally low ceiling and was so small (approximately 2x4m) you get claustrophobic.
The double was ok in size and the ceiling was high (not very high), but had a stain on the ceiling and was very hot. When we asked at receiption to turn off the towel rail, they told us only maintenance could do this since you needed a special key and promised to do this "first thing in the morning". When we returned from our day trip the next evening it was still on. When we complained about a torn duvet, they gave as another one to put on ourselves. And the advertised free parking is less than 10 spaces for 84 rooms, so you need to pay for parking at the Shopping centre.

Currently staying here and would highly recommend this hotel the rooms are immaculate and the staff are all amazing so friendly...I don't want to leave but we only have one more night .
Compliments to the chef the food is by far the best I have had in Scotland so far .!

The front desk staff was only minimally helpful. If you are renting a car to park, good luck! After asking twice, we still couldn't find parking ("two lights and it's right there"). The room was very small with a huge TV (we don't travel to Europe to watch tv). The location was the only really great thing about it. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. They offered a great variety for breakfast and the food was good. It seemed old, worn and was disappointing, compared to the other 5 places we've stayed so far on this trip.

The Royal Highland is everything you could want in a hotel. It has excellent beds and rooms, provides soaps and towels, offers breakfast, and the staff is both willing and able to answer any and all of your questions. Frankly, the only downside is price. This is a nice hotel, but not by any stretch of the imagination worth the 200 per night I paid

We have been coming to this hotel for 9years, sometimes twice or three times a year. We have taken different guests with us and they all were delighted with the level of service ,food and the accommodation

This was our second yearly visit, having loved last year so much. Location of this hotel is perfect when travelling by train. The staff, especially Gail the supervisor and the blonde lady who served us breakfast on Sunday morning (28th Feb) are brilliant. Always professional, helpful, kind and caring they are a real asset to the hotel. We ate at the hotel on our first night and this was lovely. The food was excellent as was the wine! The cocktails are especially delicious and very easy to drink.
The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the mix up we had when checking in and out. We were asked both times to pay our supplementary charge which had been paid 3 months ago. After verifying by email (thank goodness I hadn't deleted it!) on checking in, I was upset to be asked to pay the charge again when checking out. Please fix your communication between members of staff.
Otherwise a fantastic weekend in a great hotel.
