The Royal Highland Hotel has been very enjoyable to stay in. Rooms very comfortable and clean. The service in the restaurant was slow but food was good. Staff in the hotel very helpful and friendly.

Extremely central - which can lead to problems with self-drive with car, since the hotel only about 8! Pitches. These can not be reserved, but can be used free of charge. Very nice, noble and old, venerable house. Even with dog had zero problems.

Room is tiny and banana yellow really hard on the eyes.A view over tin roof is from an inside room with no window in the bathroom.Facilities in room excellent but no room to even swing a cat.No where to access luggage easy.Staff polite but no chance of upgrading the room. This is first day so two more to go to find out what to think.Got a move to bigger room no bother today great.Still awful yellow anaglypta hotel needs some tidying up and a good paint with vintage colours would definitely warrant 4 stars then.furniture is lovely hotel is tiered but very quaint.Breakfast plenty middle of the road food but you get what you pay for plenty to eat.Staff excellent very polite.

Busy while our group had tea and other beverages in the large reception area Lighting was poor but decor good apart from the toilet cubicles which were painted dark brown which made them claustrophobic!

Well, let's start with the "positive" the mattress of the bed is not worn out and reasonably clean, the internet works.

What I knew was that parking spaces are in short supply, but there are parking garages nearby.

At the reception the ladies were very absorbed in their private conversations and obviously felt disturbed by guests who wanted to check in.

Hotel room 227 is on a mezzanine floor and the last renovation was a long time ago.
Small room with worn out furnishings, bathroom musty and used, low water pressure, bed under queen size.

We stayed here on the 1st of may for the weekend. Staff very friendly and polite. Made us feel very welcome. Room was lovely. Breakfast was fab! Again. Staff were so nice and accommodating. We really did enjoy our stay. Gutted about the restrictions so we couldn t sit back and taste the cocktails, but we will definitely be back. Look forward to it.

This was very disappointing, the room's were badly in need of painting, Paint flaking off the bathroom, the shower was not very hot. The breakfast was awful everything was luke warm. Our meal in Ash restaurant was ok nothing startling. Had to ask for a clean knife as it was dirty. The carpet could be doing with a shampoo in restaurant also. One good point there was plenty hand sanitizer in hotel. Definitely won't be going back.

Lobby was really nice but room 110 was out dated and the noise from creaking floor boards coming from the room above had us awake from 6am. We didn't eat there so can't comment on food or bar service. Parking is tight . We were very luck to get a free space to the front of hotel for our motor bikes. Location is 10/10 and staff extremely friendly just like all the Locals we talked to. Area is full of great restaurants and bars . On a sunny day sitting by the river is a must.

Ok, there is no distance between here and the train station... So that is a huge plus. Very nice place. Your not going to have problems here. This is defientely a high end location and the hotel staff are wonderful. The only thing I would be cautious of is keeping your bags after you check out. the room is unsecured and I found my bags opened which was disconcerting.

Good hotel, but don't try to check in before 3.00pm, they claim room not ready, come 3pm all rooms surprisingly ready. People with cases occupying the foyer, not a good look. But staff pleasant, breakfast OK. Room good when we finally got in.

Friendly place. Restaurant is very good had a lovely fillet steak with pepper sauce. Although I am not a cooked breakfast fan there was plenty of choice for people who like this or a continental breakfast. It's an old hotel so enjoy it for what it is. Clean rooms also

Classic grand old hotel, Parking in the shopping centre not on site, plumbing (shower) very classic, built in to wall shower head with minimal water pressure. on the plus side huge room, strangley with 2 double beds (booked a double room) but no problem as the room was huge. breakfast was buffett and ok. I got an incredibaly cheap deal so good value, personaly would have paid more for onsite parkig, good shower and cooked to order breakfast. If I had paid full price I would have been very unhappy. do not use onsite resturaunt, poor food and overpriced. service in resturaunt and bar patchy at kindest

Had a lovely 2 night stay in the hotel. Room was big with traditional decor.
All staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast excellent. Only bad point was staff too eager to clear tables when we hadn't finished eating. Had dinner one night in the restaurant and it was very well presented and very tasty
Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Its not a 'local bar for local people' so u get a good welcome and the bar doesn't descend into uncomfortable silence when a 'stranger' walks in - this is good. Large selection of draught ales - this is good. Sporadic opening times - not so good.

Nice hotel, with feelings of old world grandeur at a good price point. Starting to show some signs of needing refurbishment in places, but overall still very much enjoyable. Shower was incredible; one of the highest pressures I've ever had!

Excellent service from start to finish, great location and food in the restaurant was second to none. Only down side was breakfast buffet food could have been warmer but that is always a problem with these kind of buffets. Will hopefully be back.

Room clean, lobby great, food in the ASH very good, but reception behind wood sculpture no stalk. For breakfast the worst coffee in Scotland, impossible vending machines. station atmosphere

The location was match bang in the middle of the city. From what I understand they recently opened after the lockdown. The continental breakfast was below average but I was included in the price of the hotel, can t complain about that. Handsdown I think they have the most Instagram worthy stairs on this whole trip. We stayed on the third floor the rooms were a little bit small but cannot complain.

Superb!

Great central location next to the railway station. Handy for the shops and Castle. Friendly staff, good food. Hotel is 160 years old with a lot of nice original features - staircase and stained glass windows.
