Hotel is of course very central and is perfect for a city break. For the 3 stars is certainly in the years come hotel but nice. Who likes the "old" in Scotland is in the right place. Staff is very friendly and the "tea" with sandwich, cake, chocolate and fruits is really NICE.
Lovely again.

On 14.07.2019 spent a night with a group there. The room was good, finally a bed without sagging mattress. The dinner was ok. But getting coffee and juice from a vending machine for breakfast does not suit the hotel. The staff seemed to me a bit unengaged.

Room was grt 327. It was cosy and warm. Reception was quite hostile infact a rude glare was given by a lady in the phone. A colleague came along and was reasonably OK. Not friendly but still OK. Breakfast not so good. Sausages, mushrooms, bacon not good and the young ladies waiting on were not trained well. They want to take any player that's empty or nearly empty away and instead of taking empty plates to the kitchen they try and stack them from each table. I can't tell you how much cutlery was dropped by me and behind me. Don't get me wrong they were very apologetic but I blame the lack of training. Not the most enjoyable breakfast I've had to start a working day.

Stayed here for 1 night in Nov 2017. Location and staff were superb but accommodation was poor - decor old, beds creaky, lift takes forever to come etc. My first room was 106 and it was a single room adjoined to another. As the noise from through the joining door was atrocious, l requested to move. My next rooms was a single on 3rd floor (328 maybe?) which was better. Worse view but no noise and it had a bath as opposed to a shower cubicle. Some nice touches in room like biscuits, tea, shower toiletries (no hair conditioner though) Breakfast had a good selection although the room reminded me of a canteen! Wouldn't stay here again as l have had better accommodation in Inverness. That being said, if your looking for convenience for the train station then you can't get better!

Nice looking hotel with a grand staircase. Rooms are smoking and non-smoking, so be sure to reserve the room to your liking. Room was clean and nice with all necessary amenities. Even had a fan in case it got a little warm. Also, there is no parking here. You have to park several blocks away thus 4 stars as there was no warning of the parking situation on their website.

Had a two night stay here. Location is great. Close to railway station and bus station. In centre of city handy for shopping and local attractions and good travel links means it's easy to get around the wider area. Hotel itself has friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and good quality. Have stayed here several times and will continue to do so.

My kids and I stayed 2 nights in this hotel, conveniently located right next to Inverness train station, as well as a bus station. Close to all the local historical sightseeing or busses or trains to nearby attractions. Sweet staff, grand Victorian building with a unique atmosphere decor like you just stepped back into 19th century, but all upgrades and conveniences of 21st century as well. Comfy beds, great breakfast and also a good night's rest although located on a busy street. Highly recommended!

Stayed one night last night. Warm, comfortable, convenient for railway station (and therefore my train home to Altnabreac today). Bit "Olde Worlde" inside but ok. Superb Scottish breakfast.

Quick stop in just for one night as we were passing by. The room was clean and decent sized for a double bed, everything seemed pretty average, though I did hear the neighbours through the wall.. We lucked out and snagged the last parking spot in their tiny lot. Overall I d say it was decent for the price we paid (aka didn t really expect too much). (Visited in December)

Hotel was lovely but advertised having WiFi which our room would not connect to and when connecting in other areas kept disconnecting. Giving we were planning to work whilst our stay online this was a huge problem. Asked one receptionist who said all they can do is reset it and she didn't seem to care. Asked another the next day who said they would check down the hallways but we didn't see improvement at all. Rooms standard but great hotel for location. Breakfast wasn't very nice very basic but restraunt great and bar staff fab.

Great location if you are arriving by train, it's basically part of the station.
Rooms aren't massive, and are a little dated, but still comfortable and clean. Shower in my room was at a constantly awkward angle, which resulted in me waterboarding myself by accident a couple of times.

Staff were professional and friendly.

Breakfast was pretty impressive too, though no square sausages..

My only complaint is the lack of parking. The hotel doesn't check who parks outside, and they only have 9 spaces for maybe 40+ rooms, so it's near impossible to actual park. Inverness is a nightmare for parking, there are no free spaces. We picked the hotel on Expedia as it said they had free parking, so we were a bit disappointed we had to pay all the time.
I think if we'd known they had so few, and didn't check only guests parked, we'd have chosen elsewhere.

The breakfast plentiful (full Scotish breakfast and continental breakfast), coffee is so (but quite strong). There is even haggis, black pudding anyway. Baked beans, toast, sausages, bacon (dry), scrambled eggs, fried eggs, tatties, cheese, sausage, jams, honey, fruit etc. Teaspoons are in short supply. Don't drink coffee in Ash (in-house restaurant) (unless you're American, then drink an Americano), as an Austrian or German: leave it . In the lobby: for a bit of lifestyle, eat the delicious "Cheese and Prosecco" platter for 2 and don't be surprised that there is no bread with it, but crackers. One of the employees here is really hard-working and warm .

About the room: surprisingly spacious, small double bed, a duvet. Large bathroom, fixed shower head . Toilet flushes when it wants (lever hangs), sliding window is difficult to open or not properly locked (broken off). Staff mostly friendly and hard-working . Disappointed in Inverness, the restaurants overcrowded in the evening, best to reserve - even in the supposed pub. On the first evening I had to go to the Italian restaurant (Little Italy - very small, very recommendable - molto gentile ).
By the way, in Scotland there seem to be no toilet brushes in the bathrooms in 4 and 3 star hotels Bade.
Summary of the hotel: outside the railway station, correspondingly a lot of public traffic, is extremely loud late in the evening (to shouting). There are an estimated 8 free parking spaces for guests in front of the hotel (the rest can be parked in the department store garage, 5 pounds per 24 hours). Unfortunately also in the hotel quite loud (outside and inside. Drafty windows, simply glazed.
We were disappointed, traveled back to Edinburgh one - paid - day early. Incidentally, the 3-star rating is a gift .

I was given an out dated room, heating didn't work, WiFi didn't work, TV remote missing, sound proofing between rooms was terrible and the double bed was 2 singles pushed together.
Tried to change rooms, staff only provided a portable heater and new TV remote.
In fairness room was 2/3rds cheaper than most available in Inverness at the time. But think I will pay the extra next time.
Location was very good.

Our second visit to this hotel.....staff are very helpful, the rooms are cosy with everything you need. We had afternoon tea which was lovely. Had evening meal in The Ash restaurant.....highly recommended.
The breakfasts have everything imaginable and are worth a visit for this alone....two minutes from the train station in the midst of Inverness....couldn't fault it...will return...

I stayed in room 305 and had one of the worst trips away I've ever had.
I requested a double room not the twin room I was given. Yes, it's a small thing but when your paying way over the odds you expect to get what you've booked.
There was, what sounded like a pump/motor, going in a nearby room all night. I can normally sleep anywhere but it was not easy to get to sleep with this whirring away.
I was then woken from my short sleep at 5ish AM by an alarm going off outside for a couple hours. This obviously isn't the hotels fault but this probably would have been a bit more bearable if there was double glazing installed.

There would have been no point in requesting a room change as I had already been told a reception that they were fully booked.

Plus points would be the large flatscreen TV in the room and the Ash restaurant in the evening, the food was good and reasonably priced.

Lovely comfortable rooms with a large en-suite although the shower was extremely hot at times. We had a room overlooking the station and found it very quiet apart from the third floor guests but you can't really avoid noisy people. Friendly staff and the hotel is obviously going refurbishment as new carpets were being fitted. Ash restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent. Would stay there again.

Quaint hotel. Great, old feel to the place. The staff seemed friendly enough (I didn't interact with them much). The rooms are nice. The floorboards creaked a little, but that's to be expected from an older building.

We went on a groupon voucher deal and had a great time in this warm, friendly hotel right in the heart of Inverness. The en-suite room was v comfortable with a good bed. Our breakfast included the option of freshly cooked smoked haddock which was delicious. The deal included a free bottle of wine with dinner which the bar staff kindly allowed us to trade up to my favourite sauvignon blanc. Staff were helpful and courteous. This would have been a good experience at double the price. On the deal it was AMAZING!

Hotel with an unbeatable location to get to know the city. It is a very old but cozy hotel. The receptionists we dealt with were very dry and not pleasant at all. If you do not find parking in the hotel squares, there is a public parking 24 hours a two minute walk with very affordable prices. For 12h 5lbs, for 14h 6lbs.

The rooms are right above the train station.
Impossible to get a good night sleep because of the train engines running all night long.
Nice hotel but the noise from the station is extremely disturbing.
There's an old woman at the reception that is quite rude .
