A fabulous day out. Entry is free. It's an easy wander around a well landscaped display of native Australian plants. Or, for a fee, there are guided tours in small vehicles. Plenty of space for picnics. A cafe on site with a delicious variety of meals. A shop with gifts & souvenirs appropriate to the theme of the gardens. Highly recommended

This is an absolute hidden gem! I have lived in Melbourne 7 years and only heard of this recently. Well worth the drive if you don't live nearby. Very family friendly with lots of cool hidden corners to explore.

A very peaceful and well laid out garden with Australian native plants and beautiful garden structures to sit and enjoy the sceneries. It is pretty busy on the weekend, but people are very considerate and move at a leisurely pace. There is no BBQ but there are cafes for refreshments and toilets inside the garden. It's free entry, but you can make a donation in their boxes. A beautiful gift store is at the entry. A short walk outside the garden there is a BBQ area with under cover seatings and a large playground for kids. Well worth the visit.

I took my 7yr old granddaughter, she just loved it and ran me ragged trying to keep up with her, had a lovely time and enjoyed an ice cream with her at the kiosk. It was lovely to spend time with her out in the flora and fauna.

We spent a delightful couple of hours wandering through this beautifully designed garden. A layout intended to draw you in and encourage you to meander. Waterfalls you can wade in, the weird and wonderful garden and the musical sculpture just some of the highlights

A very regular haunt in all seasons. Peaceful tracks and the opportunity to spot some local wildlife - I've seen wombats, echidnas, gliders, possums, bandicoots, snakes and a wide variety of birds. Good picnic facilities and a great park for the kids.

Lots of different gardens with different themes. Lots of Australian natives as well as plants from around the world. Make sure you walk up to the viewing point near the Australian Gardens entrance. About 400m

It's beautiful and it's free. There is a relatively big park with a nice path that is suitable for prams. The landscape is colorful, very well maintained, with cards to explain all the different types of plants and trees. Great spots to have a picnic with tables and even chairs. Many other things like water features for kids to play, playground and more. On top of this, you have more tracks around the park itself, leaving plenty of opportunities to come back for more fun and keep things interesting.

A fantastic garden to explore Australian natives. Well kept and beautiful plants and designs. Liked the variety of attractions, water features. But did find one grated walk section slippery after rain. It was going from the central section up north. Unlimited photo opportunities. Great for kids too.

If you don't have better place to go in a boring afternoon noon you can consider the Australian Gardens. Not too existing but the red sand garden is reasonably spectacular (no visitors are allowed to walk on it, though)

For those with a minimum of interest in botany this place is perfect, the flora of Australia is explained in a fairly comprehensive way, perhaps the only flaw is that it would take some more explanatory panels. In addition to the botanical garden there is a large park with a picnic area, a children's play area and walking paths, with an observation point on a hill that offers a suggestive panorama.

Such an amazing place to walk around for all ages. For the elderly there is a train. We took a picnic then enjoyed a walk around the gardens exploring the sights and amazing flora and quirky exhibits.

A wonderful place. Such incredible variety of flora and native fauna as well. Not uncommon to see a wombat or echidna. Excellent cafe on site as well as gift shop celebrating all things native Australian and bush-like.
The perfect place for a calm stroll or educational tour.
