I was more interested in the walking trails, which are a bit too established and more like roads. There are some reasonable options with mild undulations and diverse scrub and open fields. Surprisingly there was a lot of wild life with echidnas, bandicoots and wallabies. The smell from the local landfill did waft in around some areas and spoilt an otherwise nice walk. I'll return, but it's not high on the list for great walks. Also, no leashed dogs allowed seemed a bit restrictive.

You don't realise how big this place is until you're there. Stunning gardens, gorgeous play areas. I gave 4 stars because I feel like along the walking tracks there should be more water facilities.

Beautiful scenery and walks, plenty of quality play equipment for kids, varied souvenir shop, good coffee at the cafe though catering for special diets could be expanded. Great place to spend a sunny afternoon and let the kids wear themselves out.

Probably the best native botanical garden I've seen. They've quite obviously spent a lot on the design and landscaping. One of the signs said it took 18 years to design & construct. The interpretive signage is excellent, with pointers for your home garden. This place is excellent, when quiet, to reflect on the simple majesty of the Australian landscape. Keep away from pestilential groups (that seem to follow you) with children that you can hear for a mile. There are at least 2 cafes that I saw. The gift shop has tasteful & quality goods. Pricey, not unexpected.

If you're expecting to see beautiful plants, trees, flowers and a lot of greenery, this is not the place. There's not much to see or do here.
It's too bad though, because there's a lot of potential for this place.

If they just add a couple of big objet d'art on the wide grassy areas for attraction, plant more vibrant flowers (really lots more), remove all those tall spear grass and replace them with better looking (greener) shrubs, and just try and make everything more greener then this place will be a lot better.

In know it's free and maintenance is hard. But I'd rather pay a fee if the place that I'm going to actually deserves it. As of now, it's not worth the trip even if it was free entrance.

One of the best garden I have ever seen.

Wow amazing. My first visit to this part of Victoria to a place that has been recommended for years. Authentic and beautiful Australian gardens full of Australian flora. Despite the 45 degree summer day it was an unforgettable visit.

We all had a great day. Took a picnic lunch with us. While we we sitting & eating some of my munchkins were off playing on the ground when we noticed this GROUSE little wallaby just over from the playground, slightly behind it. 1 of my sons was right at the top of the climbing tower & had such a FANTABULOUS view. After lunch we all then went for a walk to check out the look out. & GEEZ WHAT A WICKED SIGHT THE VIEW FROM UP THERE WAS... WOW...

These gardens have to be experienced to be believed. It would be an injustice to spend only a couple of hours here. I think we spent around 4-5 hours. The photos tell much of the story. Try to choose a sunny day to enjoy it at it's best.
