My wife, 6year old, 2 year old and I really enjoyed our visit. We went during a warm snap in February, but had no issues getting around in fact many exhibits are accessible from inside. The animals all were within view. Best of all you can't beat the price, I was truly surprised at how low admission was.

Very inexpensive for admission - only $9 per adult and $5 per child.
We visited the zoo during the Dinosaur takeover so it was a blast! During the dinosaur takeover there are very realistic dinosaurs placed throughout the zoo within the attractions and vegetation. They had realistic sound and movement so my son really enjoyed it! This zoo has a lot of animals and interesting facts at each habitat. We spent about 3 hours and were able to see everything so it was a great way to spend the afternoon. The gift shop is full of fun goodies.

Great place for the whole family. I like the addition of the misting areas throughout the walk. It wasn't a very hot day but a lot of the animals weren't there...maybe a renovation. We also got a membership and on the pamphlet we took home it says we get a shirt but we never received that

This zoo is extremely high quality despite its small size. With a true dedication to teaching and conservation, it is extremely obvious that this establishment cares about its animals. The zoo staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and was able to answer many of my questions regarding the animals.

The weather was beautiful and the crowd was light. This is very clean with a good variety of animals. We stopped here on an afternoon in town on our way over to Utica. Glad we made the decision.

Big bugs were are favorite. Not many animals to see. Seems to be under construction in some areas. Disappointed and would like to try again, maybe when more animals are out. Update...the zoo contacted me and sent us out tickets to return

We were at this zoo last weekend and this one just falls short in every area. The animals that were there looked miserable/lifeless. Lots of construction equipment, fences everywhere, torn up dirt and emptiness. The Fenneco foxes were pacing badly like they wanted out. There was no food or water for most of the animals. They all looked depressed! The lions need a bigger cage with more shade as do most of the animals there. The tigers and bears etc, had no water filled in the cement holders where they could swim or drink. I felt these animals were very neglected. The elephant I saw from the window had a big sore on his face. Two thumbs down. I hope this review goes to the right people so this can be resolved.

Very small (not their fault) however a lot of information placard's backlighting is burnt out so you cannot tell what is on it. A lot of the time it was the placard that tells you what species it was so that was somewhat annoying. Can walk through at a slow pace in about 2 hours.

A lot of animals to see and the look well cared for. They also have interactive statons for kids to learn through play. Great outdoor seating for bag lunches or food from their jungle cafe and concession stands. Great indoor aquarium and aviatory.

I love this Zoo. Its a great place to bring the kids on nice days. The new elephant exhibit is so much better than it used to be. It can get pretty packed in the main building, but once you're out and about its very pleasant. The penguin exhibit is also very cool. They also do special events like the dinosaur event this year which was great!

We visited the zoo yesterday and were very fortunate to see animals playing, eating and enjoying their environment. The elephants, bears, tiger with her 3 month old cubs, birds, panda, flamingos, and all the animals made the afternoon observing and reading the posted information about them, definitely a wonderful and educational experience. If you live in the area, visiting or just passing through, stop and visit the Zoo!

Lovely little zoo with a pleasant outer circuit spanning both farm animals and elephants, wolves, tigers and such--and an indoor loop with primates, reptiles, nocturnal animals and fish. Well worth a 90 minute visit.

First time being here and the kids had a blast. The bridge/trail that goes around a lot of the zoo is well built and maintained and the variety of animals was a great change from our local zoo! The octopus was the biggest hit!!

So my family and I got ickers and a membership in advance. We had a really long drive 8hrs + hours worth. We got there later than expected from some unforeseen road blocks, accidents and a shooting! Which made the zoo hours terrible. 4:30 is really early for something like this o close. 10-4 gives people literally no time to enjoy the animals long enough so people rudely rush through and push their way in. The food was WAY over priced. For four popsicles I paid 15$! You can get a box of 8 or more at Walmart for under 5. That was seriously taking advantage of the horrible heat. Every drink we got that was out of a machine tasted off like it hadn t been cleaned. I returned one drink in exchange for a bottle water but had to throw the slushies out. Which as you know cost a lot and are in small cups. The gift shop was also expensive for five kids it cost 235$ and some change. Small stuffed animals were 8$ mediums were 20 and up. What they considered large were very expensive. One of my kids got a plastic car that feels like it was got at a dollar tree. It s so cheaply made and the mark up the price because there s a sticker of a tiger on it? We were really disappointed considering we rented a car to be able to attend this event. It cost so much money and due to the hours and not clear map we didn t get to see all the animals. People in the area were very rude to people who don t know where they are going. (Hanging out of car windows screaming at you and giving intimidation glances while driving by hanging out windows) the staff at the zoo was a toss up. Some were nice while others were rude. As for he animals it was a toss up. It was very hot so a lot of the animals were not active and a lot of the enclosures are so far away you can t even see the animals. We likely won t be going back.

The Syracuse Zoo keeps on improving their exhibits and has friendly, informative staff. The animals all appear to be very well taken care of and are usually pretty easy to spot. It's a great place to spend a few hours and a relatively cheap destination. If you live in the area I would recommend purchasing a zoo membership, it pays for itself rather quickly, especially if you have children.
