Very nice setup. Good animal selection. They had new baby red pandas for viewing when we went on the clinic. Kids liked the zoo. There are a few nice areas on the outer loop of the zoo where it was nice to sit and observe the animals patiently while enjoying some rain protection. Only drawbacks were that there were not very many zoo staff around. We wanted to find where the red pandas cubs were but couldn't find anyone for help. Also, while a brilliant display for sales, the gift shop had a see through display as you exit which can make it tough with tired toddlers.

Must visit place in Syracuse area... Especially for families with kids... This zoo has got almost everything: aquarium, different species of monkeys & birds, lion, penguins, bison, elephants, deers & so on... The list goes on...!

As far as small zoos go it wasn't bad. They had a couple interactive activities that my kids enjoyed. My family liked that by some animals they had skulls and skin and allowed you to touch them. The cafe could've been more organized and cleaner. The food was not that great even for a cafe inside a zoo. If are looking to kill a full day this is not the zoo, but a 2-4 hours it's a great place.

A nice zoo with recent improvements, I like the new larger area for the elephants, I am so saddened to see the lions in the old fashioned glass wall type room, they have territorial ranges that extend miles and miles yet they ate housed in a room?? They need an expansion desperately.

Excellent zoo for a city this size. Great family value. Clean inside and out. Good parking but gets crowded because so popular. Animals all well cared for and easy to view. Great variety. Indoor and outdoor exhibits. Contests, events, good eating and picnic areas. Clean restrooms.

Honestly there's alot of amazing animals at the Rosamond Zoo. Altogether they have a large mammal exhibit, for the price they definitely could add more exhibits. Currently the red panda exhibit is down due to their oldest passing away but they will be back in again!

It's not much but it's fun for the kids. Zoos are pretty depressing as it is and they do a good job with the animals. They actually care and are usually adding more and more to the exhibits. They have cool events like the dinosaur visits and evenings for adults only to walk around the park and drink. Like all Onondaga County Parks, veterans get in free.

Nice

Rosamond Gifford Zoo is one of the better zoos I've been to. The cost of admission, souvenirs, food and drinks is minimal in comparison to bigger city zoos. The charm and cleanliness of the zoo are also on point. If you have children, add the Rosamond Gifford Zoo to your list. The zoo is kid friendly with many attractions and activities for youngsters to enjoy.

Dino expo at the zoo...I brought my two year old, and she was in aww the whole time. Doesn't look kept up like it used to be, penguin habitat is NASTY...it has green sludge caked on viewing windows. The price for snacks are high. Cost $3.50 for one ice cream cone

A good zoo that is constantly improving itself and getting new creatures. A steal as far as admission goes (check out snow leopard days in the winter, half off or free with a non cell phone camera). Do a lot community events so something is always going on and do a lot of outreach. Really uped their game in the last decade. Great place for kids, a casual date, or just anyone who like animals.

We had our reception at the zoo, catered by Catering at the Zoo and it was magical. From the first day that we met with the staff they helped us to create the exact day we were looking for. Everyone was so flexible (we planned half the wedding from Texas for crying out loud) and they were so willing to help with those last minute touches that usually fall to the couple or the wedding party. The food was INCREDIBLE, the chef also personally came out to make sure everything was to our liking.

The zoo is where my husband and I had our first date and we were elated that we could return to celebrate our marriage. We could not have asked for a more professional, warm, and happy staff to help make that possible. We would recommend the zoo to anyone looking for a family-friendly and happy wedding day (or any party!).

This is a great trip for us with the kids, it has a lot of exhibits that keep us entertained. Two kids under 3, and we can enjoy ourselves for several hours here. As a military family, the free entry is a bonus that brings us to the syracuse zoo over the one closer to us near Fort Drum. Easy access to rest rooms, concessions are convenient, but it's easy to bring our own snacks and drinks without any complaints or stress.

Great zoo. You are able to get very close to the animals which was a unique experience we have not had at other zoos. Many animals are also inside so you can visit in the harsh cold winters of CNY. The most active animals we have seen at any zoo. Almost every animal was either walking around, interacting with guest or playing. Would definitely recommend.

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is an excellent zoo. The zoo is small enough to stroll through in a couple of hours but not so big that it becomes an all day event. I find that the kids do very well here because you are done before they start to get tired and cranky. I like the Komodo Dragon that was added over the summer and my youngest really likes the little baby black sheep. I highly recommend going when the temperature is lower say 35 to 50 as the animals seem a bit more active.

Pretty good zoo, I prefer Rochester zoo better as the animals are easier to see and I feel as if there are more animals. The lepord Cubs were adorable and very active. The zoo itself had liter in some places which was very saddening to see but overall it was a good day

I liked this place. Its quaint, not too large, decent amount of animals for being up north. Of course we visit and 1/4 of the animals werent very active due to the cold. Id definitely go back.

A lot of the exhibits were closed, and at this point I'm not really convinced that that's really necessary. All the inside exhibits, and the restaurant were closed. But what was open was nice. Seems like we came at a time when most of the critters were sleeping. (12pm - 1:30pm). Also, the penguins were molting and weren't swimming around.

The zoo is absolutely beautiful. Its clean. So many animals all around. The kids loved the dinosaurs there. Last time we went when we called no one told us they were closing early so we got there 30 minutes before closing. The man for tickets let us go in for free since it was such a short time. They have food there. Such an amazing place

One of the nicest zoos I have visited! It is well organized and includes different species. The zoom was undergoing some construction during my visit. This didn t disturb me at all. The construction consisted of making extra space available for the elephants.

Zoo was a little light on the animals but what do you expect... itvwas March! Bitter cold outside so that wasny fun, but good to get out and explore with the family even still. Always a good couple hour excursion. We had free admission included with our Destiny USA Winter fun passes.
