Rontoms creates a very nice casual atmosphere that's dimly lit and spacious enough for a lot of people with a variety of seating arangements. When it's warm enough outside take a step out in the patio area. I typically drink their rotating microbrew or cider and sometimes order their grilled cheese and tomato soup. There is never an issue to find parking within two blocks.

I ve been to many shows at Rontoms. It s a pretty decent venue, the food and drinks are not too shabby, the service could probably use some work, but over all it s a fun place to go for a drink and a bite to eat. Check out their happy hour, they ve got some pretty good deals. And the Sunday night concert series is maybe my favorite thing about the joint.

The outdoor patio is beautiful. Service was OK... they were pretty busy on the Saturday night that I went, and they only had 1 bartender outside. If you aren't a smoker, expect to be a bit disappointed. They allow smoking on the patio, which would be fine if people weren't smoking in the area that's mostly enclosed. I went home smelling like a walking ashtray. Drinks were priced surprisingly low. Bathrooms were actually pretty clean for being co-ed, but the line was always super long. All in all, not the best or worst place I've been to.

Had to throw my 2 cents in after reading the last review. I was back to Rontoms the other night after a hiatus - I've been several times and always forget the name(because I'm high) but always remember the flying man on the corner of East Burnside & 6th. We saddled right up to the bar, order tasty cocktails and got to see one of the Chromatid Sisters. Great place; chill, fabulous servers, great drinks. If they only had this place in Spain!

Cool place, lots of young crowd, maybe too much. Outside bar under an awesome timber awning. Fireplace inside that is converted into as tage for live music at times. Good drinks, decent staff.

The service, food and drinks were great, but they really need to ban smoking. It s disgusting and ruins the experience. BAN SMOKING! Or at least have a non smoking section. I won t be able to come back if it stays the way it is.

Somewhat dingy bar with tolerable bar food. The staff seemed a bit aloof on my visit. The menus need replacing as it is evident too many drinks have been spilled on them. The table I sat at was lopsided, which means any shifting will send drinks into motion. The bar had live music on a huge outdoor patio. The place was packed and seating was limited, which indicates the locals love it.

The space is huge and its even huger in the summer when the massive outdoor space is open. The drinks are good and the furniture is all mid-century modern cast-offs from vintage furniture stores. It's a great place for a large group of friends to meet.

Came for lunch when our intended sushi spot up the block turned out to not, in fact, have a full bar. Great Cocktail pours. Split the ahi tuna and chicken skewers---- both were good hut the chicken was the winner. The tuna dish could have benefitted from something else starchy or fatty but it was a perfect sear. Chicken skewers were lightly zingy and lightly sweet with a perfect char. Really nice ambiance /setting, totally laid back and with many comfy seating options.

Was there for the live music and stayed for the live music. I'm so glad it almost summer I'll be hitting up this patio often.....service was friendly, will have to try the food one day.
High ceilings and lots of room. It was funny cause everyone was out back so we almost couldn't find the venue except for a tiny sandwich board sign with their name.

Rontoms is a bar and music venue consistently filled with the best looking people and best sounding music, live as well as ambient. With ample space and a solid collection of mid-century modern furniture it is a joy to hang out here and be caught in the act. Sometimes the crowd looks older than average because the establishment clearly has good taste and elbow room but the music always has a way of returning it to its spry target audience. The patio seating is at least as expansive as its indoor seating and both have a band pit, fireplace, and separate bar. The only thing that is lacking here is enough restrooms and some would say it should have pool tables instead of ping-pong tables. The food is excellent, the bartenders are usually friendly, and cigarettes have been known to be sold at the bar. If you lose enough of your inhibitions while you're here you may even have an opportunity to break out their Apples to Apples game on one of their very numerous coffee tables. Start the game inside though, because the patio closes early. On busy nights ID is checked at the door. Lots of bicycle parking on SE 6th (but sometimes not enough).

Pretty quiet right now - my service was slow, but the couple at the table next to me came in at least 5 minutes after me and had very quick and attentive service from a different server. Food was good, and priced very low on the Happy Hour menu. Laid back place & nice music. Contrary to some other reviews, I didn't find it to be "grungy" at all - more like casual & rustic, concrete floors, etc. Would visit again.

One of my favorite patios in Portland. Food is pretty great and drinks are reasonable. Service can be questionable, but if you order at the bar you'll be taken care of. Don't miss the free shows on Sundays!

I really like this bar it's a mix between a classic lounge and a trendy club. It has a very chill atmosphere. The food and drinks have always been great. I especially suggest the jackfruit tacos. It can get very busy and getting to the bar to order a drink can take a bit but the staff is very efficient. It's quieter on weeknights but on weekends there's always a good number of people.

The back porch area is pretty big and has tons of seating in the form of picnic tables and a large fireplace. They sometimes have live music as well.

Fun trendy bar with one of the best patio scenes in town, concerts in the summer on Sundays, and very attractive crowd. The interior is really nice with a terraced living room feel and a fireplace. A little crowded on weekends, but worth the wait.
