This place is very nice and their cause is noble. The cats are mostly freeroaming while still being separated due their own personalities or circumstances. The only ones really caged are the new arrivals and the ones that have some sort of medical issue that was recently or still needs addressed.

They are firm supporters of the Paw Project and also require anyone that seeks to adopt a pet to first pass both a written test and a verbal interview before they'll even consider letting anyone walk out of there with an animal. This way the cats are much more likely to get good homes where they will be loved instead of abused.

I have had great times adopting kittens. I look for polydactal cats.my current cat "the dude" is a snuggler, he plays with my dogs. I received the support from the shelter when he had a cold the next day after adoption. Thanks for all your hard work rescuing the cats & kittens.

Treat & care for kitties & cats with excellence. They take care of ill animals & accept all kinds of cats/kitties regardless of animals health condition, but they will separate sick pets so the healthly ones don't sick and they test them for many diseases. They are exceedingly kind, and they are always willing to take an animals back if it is not a good fit with the owner or home, but I have never received one I would ever retur an I've adopted 4 from them. I preferentially would adopt from here because they check out the animal's health more than most other places. I only have great things to say about them.

I love this shelter so very much, both as an adopter and a volunteer. The cats are loved very deeply by the staff, the other volunteers, and our vet. Everyone brings a different approach to helping these cats socialize and find their forever homes. The facility is clean, the cats are well cared for, and the staff is attentive. To address some of the negative comments: 1.) it's a shelter, some cats spray. It happens. It will smell like urine some times. 2.) In my two years of volunteering on a regular basis, I've never seen anyone get "kicked out" unless they were doing something to warrant it. And 3.) people sometimes lie about circumstances on these reviews. Use common sense and take those with a grain of salt! :)

Adopted a black kitten on 12/ 13/ 14. he is definitely the most awesome cat I've ever had. The staff was very friendly and took special care of all their cats. I would highly recommend anyone get there felines here.

Horrible... They denied us two cats because we have a two year old son. SOME KIND OF BUSINESS, DO NOT GO HERE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY. The have to much of a connection to there cats to the extent it's a personal level and purposely deny adoption because of personal reasons. THUMBS DOWN!!!!

The people that work here are so rude, minus the one older woman who gave us a tour. We spent about 30 minutes in a room with the kittens and became really attached to one of them. While filling out the adoption papers I told the two women at the front my bad luck with Dumb Friends League - I had adopted a kitten from there that turned out to be extremely fearful and after a week of doing everything my vet had suggested to help her, she was still terrified. I ended up bringing her back to the DFL in the hopes they could socialize her better than I could and give her a better home- and she judged me for bringing her back and said she worried I would bring a kitten back if they allowed me to adopt one.
What did they want me to do, keep her and allow her to be terrified for the rest of her life? Force her to live under my bed because she refused to come out? My situation was not ideal for her, and I did what I thought was best FOR HER. And RMFR denied me one of their kittens for that reason.
It's very unfortunate that if I had lied or kept my mouth shut, I would have a happy loveable kitten to care for. But because I tried to share my story that kitten has to stay in the shelter for who knows how long until they "approve" someone to adopt her.

We adopted the sweetest skittish little orange female tabby here. She is adored by our other cat, and is a little sweetheart. I would strongly recommend adopting one of these kitties. Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue does a fantastic job.

URGENT THIS IS A MUST READ
ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN FIXED

3rd update: I just called Kari the owner and she hung up on me after I told her the the issue has not been resolved. 11:45pm Feb 5 2020

another update:
At RMFR, the felines are always our priority. We have "resolved this issue in the best way possible for the cat in question."

NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AT ALL. NO REFUND. NO APOLOGY. NOTHING. THEY GAVE AWAY MY CAT PERIOD. AND THERE IS NO FIXING IT. I WANT MY CAT BACK.

January 2020
UPDATE AFTER 7 MONTHS: I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THEY THEY GAVE AWAY MY CAT THAT I ADOPTED AND NAMED MAMA AND SPENT 60$ ON.
2 weeks ago I called and they said she had been adopted out after telling me to come back in 5 or 6 months. How is this even right?
I have been told that I would recieve a refund in the mail and guess what, nothing. I havent recieved a dime, nothing. Not even a cat as a replacement.

To anyone wanting to adopt here, DONT. choose a different shelter to adopt from. For gods sake they literally gave my cat away.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:: I really wish I could give this zero stars.
I got a cat from this company, (being promised that it was a perfectly healthy cat) come to find out 4 days after I adopted her, that she had a severe case of ringworm and on top of it a severe urinary tract infection (UTI) (the vet said it had been untreated for quite some time).

I was informed by the company to return her to the store I had adopted her at so that they could pick her up immediately and get her better, they picked her up and later tried to tell me that I had "dumped" her back there. They told me to wait 5 to 6 months and to come back to come get mama after she was better. I checked in for months asking what her progress was and it was always the same. "WE HAVE NO INFORMATION AT THIS TIME, SHES IN A FOSTER HOME". I did everything in my power to see how she was doing, I went as far as going to the shelter to check on her and they wouldnt even let me see her.

I really wish I was making this up but its sadly the truth.

When I called the president/CEO top person of the company and expressed what had happened she hung up on me. After several failed attempts to contact her with no response and almost 6 hours waiting, she finally "had the time".

She answered and basically said well,
" you are SOL out of a cat" after me expressing that I wanted my money back for purchasing the cat she proceeded to tell me that " it was a donation".
This is not a donation if I clearly payed for the feline.
60$ is not a donation, it's a price tag. Period.

I had then proceeded to ask for a new cat in replacement and her response was totally unbelievable..." we aren't in the cat trading buisness".

It's not a matter of trading cats, it's a matter of making your wrong right. Period.

I myself have a very pricey service animal and the fact I brought the cat into my home not knowing is very frustering.

With that in mind what would have happened if my family had contracted it or my service animal?

Also when I read her paperwork it said that the cat was 3 years old, when I took her to the veterinarian they looked at me crazy and told me there no way this cat is even close to 3 years old.

I even had the top dog of chuck&Don's contact me in regards to the situation and she told me that its completely unfair to anyone including the cat.

That this is the worst customer service of any company she has handled.

I have also informed petsmart about this issue and they were completely flabbergasted, the main manager didnt even know how to respond. He stated he would not being doing anymore buisness with this company becuse they have the same issue. They are always bringing in sick cats with respiratory infections and ringworm to boot.

This says something about the person in power of the rescue.

All I have to say is that they are not in it for the wellness of the animal..all they do is take people's money and expect everything to be fine.

Thanks for reading and I hope this will caution anyone from adopting from this shelter.
