This book store has antique books and books on every subject. I easily spend over an hour simply browsing the ever-changing and wide selection every time I walk inside. With decent prices and truly something for everyone, it's always worth a visit.

I love used book stores in historic locations. Local business, great pricing, friendly staff, cool building, cozy space, well organized, and full of books I didn't know I wanted to read. Spent a bunch of time in there and got a stack of great books for very little $.

Will definitely visit again and continue to gush to anyone that likes books about how awesome this store is. Loved it!

This gem is indescribable; I could spend my whole day here. Huge selection of used books in mint condition - be careful, those hardbacks add up ($10 for hardbacks, $5 for paperbacks - typically)!

The upstairs has a window lounge area if you want to read prior to purchasing. I'm in love!

Great little book shop. Some new books, some used books, and some rare connections. The staff is really nice, and very helpful. Located in downtown Fredericksburg, on a great street. Lots of fun stores, and not far from the parking garage! I highly recommend a visit, and taking some time to look around.

Love this place. I hope it always stays open, there is just something about the smell of old books. They are very nice and helpful here. Even my kids like to look around all of the books they have to offer. If you like old book stores, this is the place for you.

I was pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is cute, but so many of their books are old and kind of gross. There was a whole series I was looking for, and all the books were there, but they had pizza grease stains (or something) all over the front and back covers. So gross. So, I didn't buy. Wish they'd be more discerning over the quality they accept. I didn't feel comfortable shopping and touching their products.

Cute and unique bookstore downtown FXBG. Friendly staff and interesting finds for books. They also accept donations and a resell option at their bookstore. I recommend calling ahead to make sure they'll accept your books.

A small bookstore with a very large used book collection, with volumes ranging upwards from the 1700s. Spending a few hours here just browsing the collection is a must.

There is also plenty of seating throughout the store (and it's never too crowded), making it a great place to pick up a book and read.

The employees are also super nice and super helpful. There is also usually a $1 bookshelf outside the store which is always worth a look.

Great bookstore with books at a great price! Their merch (t-shirts, hats, etc.) is also pretty cool. I didn't purchase it, but the best writing pencil I've ever encountered is just in front of the checkout desk!

There are bookstores that sell books. Then there is Riverby, a bookstore that encourages reading. Comfortable seating throughout the stores welcomes longer visits, with a friendly and informative staff to match. I will be recommending any and all of my book reading friends to visit this place. This is the small city version of Powell's City of Books in Portland, minus the crowds and higher prices. I look forward to visiting again!

First things first, remember there are books upstairs and down stairs and all around stairs. In short many folks miss the huge selection. I find a lot of great gems for cooking, and history and occasionally old pulp sci fi.

This bookshop is a gem in Downtown Fredericksburg. There are three floors on which to peruse books, with chairs and sofas to sit on to enjoy reading the books. The different genres are clearly labelled. Sets of books with a similar theme are put together with ribbon to be bought together. Outside on the sidewalk is a book case with books for $1! My sister in law bought a book from the bookcase of walks and bicycle routes in the Acadia National Park in Maine. A perfect gift. The staff are friendly but non intrusive; allowing customers to browse at leisure. Historic posters, paintings, prints, and baseball caps and tote bags with Riverby Books on them are also for sale. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this bookshop.

I love this place. One of the best things about moving closer to Fredericksburg. As a lifelong reader, this is one of the best used book stores in Virginia. Look for all the clever signage and decorations, and come prepared to spend more time here than maybe you planned once you get caught up browsing. I love to perch in a window seat upstairs and read for a bit before I buy. Always an interesting selection and fair prices.

Pretty substantial selection, almost every book is $10 which is great when you find rare books that would normally run you $50. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and there are also a few neat knick knacks here and there. One of my favorites

What a great place to get books for my kids! It is an inexpensive place to locally buy used books. They had such a great verity to choose from, had everything we needed!

When back in town I'll be visiting them again for sure!

Great little local book shops. Cozy and has so many books! Just wish it had more locations. Need more book stores like this in the world and across the country. People would love reading again!
