River City Casino & Hotel Review

I personally don't care for the city so location isn't ideal. And i never win on their slots.

Haven't won anything in so long I have forgotten how to get there.

Service was amazing! Never had to wait for a drink and the room was spotless!

Do not plan a romantic rendezvous with your husband or significant other if it's not you who books the Room you would be sitting in the parking lot for 3 hours waiting for them to arrive hotel policy

Was not very impressed, to much smoking made me sick

Hotel nice but flooding caused us a scare to leave earlier then wanted.

The casino is clean, and has a wide variety of gambling games and slot machines. I enjoy when they have cover bands playing behind the bar, the music can be heard white playing the machines. Alcoholic beverages are available at the bar, and they also have complimentary fountain coke products, teas, and coffee self serve on the floor for your enjoyment while using the machines. The only problem I have had is at the casino entrance. I apparently look a bit younger than I am, and some of the workers sound more like they are busting teenagers trying to come in instead of needing to verify ID because they are unsure. Also some of the workers act as if checking ID is an inconvenience, instead of inconveniencing their guests.

We took my oldest daughter there as she just turned 21. We went on a Sunday morning. It was clean, the staff was courteous and friendly, and she won a little bit. Overall, it was a great experience.

Great place to meet family and friends. Best casino buffet in the area. It's like a city w/I a city.

Just visited to gamble. Plenty of options for gaming and entertainment.

They charged my sister an extra $12 for something called the "lemay event" and when she asked our host what that was she couldn't tell us and had it removed from the bill.

We will stop coming soooo tired of losing every week should have gotten more free play but noooo tight wad owner

We love River City! The staff at both the hotel and Casino were very friendly. Super clean room..love the bed and rain shower! Highly recommend Cibare and the brunch buffet is amazing if you're there on a Sunday! Great food for a great price!

What time does the casino close on mondays!? Do they allow free drinks long as you are playing the slots!?

Very clean and very cute casino. Had a lot of fun on the slot machines. Even got a free buffet just for registering.

We spent our anniversary night here and had breakfast in bed before our day of adventures..great room with a view

The buffet was well stocked and tasted good. The experience on the casino floor was enjoyable.

Half the machines are shut down and out of service to social distance, very few actually have the plastic dividers between them so not every other machine has to be out of play. They need more of those put in, and more sanitizing and cleaning.

The hotel rooms are clean and the staff ate very friendly and helpful.

Big rooms ,nice casino, good atmosphere. The card dealers were fantastic ,but I lost my money on the slots lol.

If one Is in St. Louis area and feels the need to push some slots I would say river city isn t too bad of an option ! None the less I was a big loser here still had a great time

Drinks are not complimentary and the casino is smoking which I am not use to at the casino I usually visit but it was good.

I went to see Brett Michaels perform. It was a great concert, the seating was not good for anyone in a wheelchair.

Very nice hotel and casino! We stopped here on a quick road trip to Illinois and we're glad we did. The walk-up price was reasonable. Our room was very nice, including a spa-like shower and TV built into the mirror! We enjoyed the buffet. Unlike casinos I'm familiar with in Tunica and other places, you have to pay for beers in the casino. But, I do like the fact that they have a non-smoking slots area. I would definitely visit again, if I'm ever in the St. Louis area.

I visited the casino and buffet restaurant about a week ago with my 2 sisters as soon as you enter the smell of cigarette smoke hit you in the face very poor air quality. That made my visit not so Good because of the smell, you can even smell smoke in the restaurant. You guys need to fix this problem for us none smokers

Always pleasant and welcoming. Valet is very polite and accommodating. Most of all I love the architecture. Feels like Las Vegas.

This place sucks! First they lies and said I had to valet parking ( there's a parking garage attached to the hotel) then I requested a card to help me with all my luggage not only did I never see anybody with a car but then when I had to try to get through the heavy doors and pack on my luggage at the same time cuz they were already gone with my car and valet parking they were so heavy and do you think anybody helped just by opening the door nope. From Dusk gas is extremely rude I didn't bother to tell me that you have to use your key card to even get the elevator to go up or down even though they knew it was my first time here the only reason I gave this place to Stars it's because the food was good at a decent price the staff of the restaurant was very helpful and very kind. Moving over to the casino side I was greeted by a happy lady who helps me get a play card and told me that it would be loaded with the free $5 comp and wish me a happy evening I proceeded to the bar where I was given a $4.50 Malibu and pineapple hold the Malibu because there was not in it I come back to the to the bar to see if I can buy an additional shot aka the shot that should have been in that drink to begin with and she charged me another $4 and then acted disgusted when I didn't give her an additional dollar even though I just handed her a dollar fifty for a glass of pineapple juice okay I played for a little while quarters and pennies typical time machine here time machine there give you a little take back a lot I ended up breaking even which was cool thought I'd go ahead and play my free $5 since I didn't plan on coming back. Lo and behold it wasn't there big surprise. Not impressed would not return the only reason I gave two stars is again for the helpful waitstaff and and the good food and the Beautiful shower. Huge disappointment but I'm sure management won't care anything about when I write them tomorrow.

Nick, the bartender at Judy's Lounge was extremely friendly and procided excellent service.

I would like to first start out by saying the hotel side of this casino trip was awesome. The ladies there were real pleasant and helped my wife and I out with some issues we were having with our players cards and room package. However, with that being said, this was probably one of my worst casino trips I've had. We made reservations to arrive on a Sunday. Our plan was to go to the casino buffet, eat, and relax before we checked in for the day. So we went to grab some players cards first. As we waited there in line the ladies behind the counters seemed less than pleased to be there. So we approach the counter once our turn came about stating we need some players cards for our trip, just the norm. The lady that took our information was still in a not so pleasant mood and seemed a bit short with us as she was just trying to get us through. You would have found more cheer in a grave yard. But, it was our first stop so surely that would just be an isolated incident.
We then proceed to the buffet we get there and our total was a little over 40 for brunch. No big deal, I saw the price on the website. After all, this is going to be some slamming food-- wrong! The food was pretty horrible actually. It was pretty much golden coral style food. Real bland tasting, or hard, or just old from sitting out too long. The only thing that was good there was the omelets. Well, once you got them as it took forever to get our orders. So pretty much, we paid 40 bucks for a couple orange juices and omelets.
Next we checked into our hotel rooms. We had no complaints from anything on the hotel side and went on to table gaming. The table personnel were meh at best. A lot of people just seemed like it was a chore to be there. But we stayed and rode it out.
With the stay and play package we received we were given money to put towards the slot machines in which, we tried to use. We couldn't quite figure it out so we went up to the rewards card desk again. This time an even worse experience. The lady pretty much said she didn't know what I was talking about and had to take it up with the reservation side. So, we go to the hotel desk, at the other side of the building, and they called down there for us to clarify. Then we headed back to the rewards card desk and the lady has to pass us on to another gal because she didn't know how to do it. Fine, it was getting done at least. So we go to use this and my wife's 5 bucks for new members and we couldn't figure it out. It would not register on the slot machine. So we go back to the rewards counter and stand in line. The lady says all you have to do is plug it in. In which, we explained to her we had. She angrily storms out from behind the counter there, takes us to a slot machine. Has my wife put in her card, no more than it registered her name, the lady says, "there it is." and before we could clarify she is already storming off and heading back behind her counter. We couldn't figure out how to use the 20 on my card and the 5 on my wife's. The thing kept registering a zero balance. At this point we said f#@k it and just headed back to our room.
We will not be staying at this casino again. It was just an unpleasant experience and I expected more after seeing it was given several 4 diamond awards. So, to sum it up, casino side bad hotel side good, lol. Hope this helps someone. I would recommend traveling out of state to a casino. Tulsa, Gulfport, Shreveport....

Well attended a company Christmas Party the food wa s goo an d the servers were awesome

Concert was awesome Joe Dirt rock's great guy's can't wait to see them again. Got to meet the lead singer would love to meet again at another concert I'll be watching for it.

I've had good stays and poor stays. The upper management staff has worked to make my poor stays better.

Like staying at their hotels and sometimes playing slots. Cozy place and if u hate smoke from cigarettes this isn't the place for u. Other than that it's a great place to have fun.

I had dinner with my family, it was a buffet however I felt the service was terrific. Specifically, I have never ate at a buffet were our table of 7 had 2 people serving us. Drinks were always full and table cleaned of plates when we got back. The wait was long but worth it, due to such service. Quality, I don't eat at buffets that often but the food was exceptional which is sime th ingredients to be said for a buffet. It was seafood night there and usually when eating crab legs I end up soaking wet from the water used to broil the crab. I mean water usually goes everywhere but they prepared these crabs well and sired the shells prior, which was also appreciated. I give the experience a 5.

River City has space to move around comfortably in the casino. Parking is convenient. We feel space should be first come ,first serve. V. I. P. has the convenience of Valet parking or chauffer driven lemo service. Disabled, senior and hard labor experience more aggravation from losing their hard earned money. So, afford them a few more courtesies.

It was pretty fun. Clean and roomy. Only played the slots and lost, but had fun doing it

River City has fun games that make a night out really entertaining!

Extremely smoky. Being a sister property of Ameristar I expected it to be a bit nicer.

It wasn't very fun. Only 1 bonus I received on $40 . Don't expect to win big, but would like to play for awhile and not get anything for several spins.
