It's an old-fashion cinema. It might not be able to provide a sophisticated movie experience for some "high-tech" movies (e.g. 3D movies). But, the atmosphere is good here. A nice place for some "less-special-effects" movies (e.g. romantic movies).

I purchased a block of ticket andwent to attend Dunkirk but was told I couldn't use them because it was in 70 mm and was not allowed to pay an upgrade even. I wont get caught with buying in advance again. Difficult to tell on the website what shows are eligible and not !

The Ritz is the best cinema in Sydney. Safe distance in seating, masks encouraged, friendly staff, latest diverse movies, comfortable lounge, and relaxing cafe or bar. I had my first Margarita in years and think I'll make it a ritual. Off to see Aliens in 70mm next Saturday, 12th Sept and I can't wait!

Great movie theater. You don t choose a place. And just buy a ticket. Where he found a place he liked, he sat down there. All the money from the sale of the ticket went to extinguish fires in Australia. Great idea.

Great prices, facilities, and selection of current movies and classics. Even better deals if you're a member. Good bar facilities and you can take drinks into the cinemas. No assigned seating though, so make sure you get there early enough on weekends or opening nights if you want a decent seat. There's parking in a Wilson carpark down street, you can get $6 parking validation from cinema.

A cinema themed in the past offering new and old movies, a rooftop bar with an outside terrasse, and your expected popcorn, snacks, and beverages. Tickets are very affordable, and rooms are rarely at capacity. My only comment is to perhaps invest in better seating. Other than that it is a joy every time I go to the Ritz!

Best of all worlds. Beautiful 'old world' and authentic art deco style architecture, very reasonable candy bar prices and movie tickets (made cheaper again, for all on the entirety of Tuesday) and wine bar with a good view.

Air condition is freazing even on cold days. Very stupid management of micro climate! Air con so windy and cold, very uncomfortable to watch movie. Often they block access to higher sitting level, and keep all people togeather like a herd of sheep. Also at times the sound level of movie is extremely laud, so its not pleasant to watch with such an ear popping rumble. Website design is lame, older version was better. Impossible to see a summary of film sessions for today or a specific date. Thats so inconvinient. Just make a button "on screen today" and display all movies for today with session times. Why its so hard for them to understand that this way its much more convinient rather than looking at the screen overpopulated with data for different dates.

I really love the classical feel of the theaters with the red drapes in front of the screen and very broadway renovations. The screen quality is great, the sound is Dolbe 7.1 surround, and the amount of ads they show is surprisingly few.

I highly recommend this cinema, but given it's the only one in the area...

Ticket guy was quite ride to my gf mother who is technologically challenged. His over the top grilling of her buying the online tickets was not necessary. Also the air conditioner barely works, so we were sweating during the movie. A shame really. I try and get to the movies as much as I can to support the industry. It's these kinds of things that make me just want to stay in the comfort of my own home.

The building is beautiful. They have great quality sound and visuals. But the chairs are terrible. It is the morning after the movie and my back is still sore. No reason they can't upgrade their chairs. I'll never come here for a particuarly long movie. And that's sad because otherwise it's a great cinema.

Eclectic mix of mainstream new releases, art house features and older films. Beautifully designed (although the seats aren't as comfortable as I'd hope). Staff are super friendly and helpful. I'm visiting from Vancouver and would love to take this theatre home with me! It's a real neighbourhood hub.

This surviving Art Deco cinema has been having a continuing update and has good screens, comfortable seating and excellent sound in its six cinemas. It has a coffee shop and a bar for enjoying a drink before the show but its best feature is its customer reward service which makes the very affordable and especially so for students and seniors.

I have not been here for ages and I was happy to see that it had not changed. Great service and prices way better than Hoyts or similar. I will be coming back here as opposed to Hoyts or the big cinemas. The only problem is that the arm rests on the seats are very short and I bumped the cup holders all the time. I'm only 175 cm tall so it's not my height.

For some reason in the main theatre the arm rests are very short and have a drink holder at the end so my arms sit in a plastic cup holder. Very uncomfortable.
To add to this ... The seats don't have a lot of space in front for legs and they are quite narrow, especially for a 6'2" tall person.

Have to love the Ritz cinema. It's stood the test of time with everything else around it changing but the cinema remains the same. It really feels like an experience every time you go. There are good food options really closeby too so perfect for a night out.

Best cinema I know in Sydney boasting a classy interior, beautiful rooftop bar, very on-point selection of movies and offering interesting events regularly.

One request though. Please expand the range of snacks. There are really not many nice food options... How about some nachos with cheese or a larger selection of Ice cream? Or just fries?

This is a great cinema and has become my go to option for midnight screenings Everytime a new star wars movie comes out and I NEED to see it at 1201!!

They always out on a good show with pre-show entertainment and extra staff to see you through the big nights.

On a typical evening, the venue takes advantage of being nestled amongst the restaurants and bars of "the spot", or if a quick drink before your movie is more your style, you can head on upstairs to the Ritz's own bar for a drink or coffee.
