The Rio had always been very nice and the eating is very good!
Use the fast check in kiosk to find your reservation and check in. In less then 5 minutes you are walking to your room. Prints out 2 keys and directions to your room. Avoided the long wait at the front desk. Casino has a variety of things to keep you entertained... and there were many food options available if you choose to eat there. The room was spacious and clean. A little dated... but I wasn't expecting luxury accommodations with the price I paid. If you choose to use the valet... they were very efficient receiving your vehicle. When picking up your car be advised it can be quite busy and to be patient especially on Friday or Saturday night.
Loved the hotel! Rooms were so large and clean! Easy check out.
The poker room and sportsbook staff are top-notch!! The atmosphere is always fun and enjoyable. It's just a comfortable place to kick back for a few days, play some cards, wager on a few games, and enjoy yourself.
Very Family Friendly one of the best pools near the strip.
Very dated. Think thrift store furniture, threadbare carpets. Floor lamps that barely stand up (use your ironing board to keep them upright) complete with faulty switches. Door locks that take countless attempts to open, screaming taps that reverberate through walls - not to mention the constant vibrating fridge that rocks the cabinet it's housed in - use scraps of paper to stop the doors rattling all night or have a few drinks before turning in for the night. Staff though are friendly and helpful.
Bad experience all around. Was here for a convention and the rooms were okay. But they need to update all their rooms now. My door key went out 3 times and then the AC didn't work. You try walking the convention hall all day and then multiple trips to the front desk. Was frustrating. Then leaks from the bathroom sink. Noisy fridge. Shower doors that are old and feel like they will break. But the price is right for a major resort.
Was fine I guess. We gambled and saw a show. I didn't have a great time. Cocktail waitresses outfits are horrid
Nice hotel! Plenty of eating options. The convention center is big with many rooms. The view from the Voodoo Lounge is very nice. The Zip Line Ride is fun.
Super tacky and in need of a renovation. It seems to be a little off the strip. I am sure that it used to be fun and inviting. It looks a little sad now.
Nice hotel with good spacious rooms with big bathrooms, a good view and a decent casino downstairs. Very busy but still nice. Missed the Penn and Teller show as one of them was ill. Maybe next time. Overall it was very nice and worth the money.
From self check in, to great staff eateries pool and casino. The Rio didnt disapoint. A little off the strip however nothing a short Lyft ride cant handle! If looking for singles, couples or family trip this is the place
Hotel room was very clean and super large. Bathroom was the biggest I've seen at a hotel. The casino was nice and well ventilated. The bed was "ok" and the pillows most certainly need replacing. Despite being off the strip the views were great of the mountains and pool.
Very nice suites. Quiet. One block off the strip. We had a rental car so it was no problem.
Great place! Had a lot of fun watching a comedy show at the Comedy Cellar. Hope to catch about her show again
We had a spectacular view of a rare thunderstorm coming right over top. The view was spectacular.
This is one of the best places to stay in both price and hotel amenities. Don't be put off by the distance to the strip, it's a short Uber away. The at hotel food was excellent and many places were close by.
The room was very clean and spacious.
Friendly staff and clean rooms but old interior decor. No coffee machine in room. Gift stores overpriced. Food options are, ok. Its It's worth staying only if offered at a discounted price.
First time visiting the Rio, everyone we met was fantastic, drink service was rapid. I just think the place needs some TLC, it feels a bit tired, several of the VP machines were faulty at one of the bars.
The hotel is a little outdated compared to most of the hotels on the strip. They only had one counter open for check in which made foe a long check in line. The rooms were average and beds were comfortable for a nights rest. Our washroom tub was clogged and had to call service to have that fixed but it was still not draining properly after they kind of fixed the issue. You definatky need a vehicle or cab to get to the strip, it's quiet a walk from the hotel to the strip. Pools were closed for the season so couldn't try them out. Would not stay there again. The only thing I found good about this hotel was that we had a strip view. That's it !!!
We got one of the suites. It was huge. It had a living room, dining room, bathroom off of the front room, big bedroom, then a big bathroom. The toilets flush insanely loud, but everything was clean and really nice. I didn't like how we had to walk through the entire casino everytime we wanted to leave. That was frustrating.
There are 4 pools, each a different temperature. I didn't spend much time in the casino part, but my sister did and she seemed to enjoy it.
The Rio is also a bit of a walk to the strip, best to take a cab. I would have liked to been closer.
This was the most amazing vacation I've ever taken! This place is huge! So much to do you almost forget there's so much more outside!
When to the Rio for the first time while I waited to kill time before a flight. Big sportsbook and lot of table and electronic gaming options. Free parking on site with easy access to the strip and interstate.
Great Hotel and Casino awsome pool! Good food options! Recommend the Sports Deli!
Very nice place! A great variety of restaurants, not too smoky, easy check in process, very nice pool with kid friendly sections and adult only sections! Rooms are very big, however could be cleaner. Found stains on the floor, hair in the bathroom, no microwave or coffee pot in the room and water pressure was horrible even though we were on the third floor.
Didnt stay here. Just visited for an hour or so. Really clean and tidy. The parking is free and in Vegas that's a great thing to have available. Its rather far from the strip though. I might stay here when I'm back in vegas
Went here to see Penn & Teller. What an awesome show. I would recommend this show to anyone going to Vegas. Reasonably priced show. Drinks are kinda pricey. The mixed drinks almost worth the price, they have plenty of alcohol in them. You also get a meet and greet after the show. Penn & Teller will sign autographs and pose for pictures.
The rooms have potential, but are in desperate need of a makeover. To start, please replace the carpet; it has seen better days! And the furniture is worn. But it met our needs on a weekend where everything was booked.
Great place!. We asked the cleaning lady for location to the conference center, she actually stopped what she was doing and walked us all the way there. We apologized for talking her away from her job but she smiled and was very polite. The staff are really friendly here.
We did not stay at this facility, but attended a show and ate at this place. The are a variety of restaurants and shops. There are both old/ new slot machines. The place has a luxurious feel!
Though not located in the strip, its an easily accesible place. They have a nice casino and its also very lively. The rooms are very neat and have an amazing view. The service is very prompt and the staff is very hospitable. Would definitely like to stay there in my next visit too.
The best Hotel for the kids ,big ,clean ,good restaurants , Great Costumer service, rooms clean and nice view ,big and clean swimming pool ,my kids loved
I have to say that Rio has really stepped up their game. Our room was beautiful and the beds were so comfortable.
We had breakfast at the American Restaurant, and the food and service were excellent.
Every aspect of or stay with Rio was excellent. I'll be back
Note: Please bring back the carnival Sky show.
Voodoo Lounge on the top floor is an awesome club. The view can not be matched. It's slightly off the strip so can't walk to it, but an easy Uber/Lyft ride or a party bus away. The DJ on Saturday night was not great. Rough mix of Top 40 but no blending like a polished, skilled DJ would do. The drinks were good and prices of them were on par for other clubs.
The entire staff experience (with the exception the restaurant upstairs on the top floor), was excellent. We stay at the Rio several times a year in addition to some other hotels and it's a fine Hotel.
Pretty cool. A little walk from the strip but they have everything here. We got their cards for points and they gave us free vouchers.
Room was very large spacious suite. Very clean with a mini refrigerator and safe in room. The casino was very dark and kind of smokey smelling but I am a non smoker and notice those things. After the first day I didn't notice it so much. This hotel is on the strip, but it's on the other side of the freeway. Very short ride over freeway and your in the center of very thing. You could walk it. I drove over an park at the Flamingo for free.
Wow show was excellent show for whole family. Dancing, archery, juggling, acrobats, co.edy, great scenery and costumes.
We did the Zipline. 500 feet in the air with no safety net.
Attended the Supernatural convention at the Rio, they had a nice convention space. Also, couldn't resist the Kiss Monster Golf.
It was a real nice experience:] we got the VIP room and a nice view
I m a Vegas local. The Rio was a nice place to spend a relaxing day by the pool. Not super busy and just close enough to the strip. I hosted a surprise party at one of the cabanas Jay was just awesome from day one. The staff are nice and engaging very helpful. The pool grill was stunning, fantastic food presentation by Mo & Marvin. I can continue to brag for days. If you want to enjoy Vegas style cabana party with great food and reasonable prices this is your place. We had an awesome time.
Friendly and helpful staff but the hotel is definitely past its prime. A little run down and not cleaned well. Even Guy Fieri's restaurant had lopsided letters on its sign. However, they did do a really nice job of hosting a very large and sprawling convention.
Did not get the room I reserved and was not accomdated at all by front desk staff. Actually I was disrespected and talked to in a condescending way when trying to get my room issue fixed. Extremely outdated rooms. The only good thing about this place is the food. Breakfast was over $70 for two people, not worth it. Las Vegas has so much more to offer than this dump. Must Taxi to the strip and action, too far to walk!!
I loved this hotel. It was very modern and clean. The housekeeping was super nice. It's very big and amazing. I would come again.
False advertising "on the strip"...... its actually about a mile or more walk. The casino is nice, but I wish they had indoor pools or at least have the hot tubs outside open. Cant check in until 3-4pm and check out is 11am. Would've given a better review if they didnt lie online.
We visited Winter Wonderland, and we really had a great time. It was a beautiful event, and since it was the first year the lines were super small. Well worth the time and cost!
The buffet had a nice variety of tasty food and dessert. Service was good. Venue was clean. Ambiance was okay. - Overall, a pleasant eating experience. - Only negative... was standing in line waiting to get in. It took WAY to long to eventually get seated, and that was the biggest complaint from people that were waiting in line around me. - Had that process be quicker... I would have rated them higher.
Really enjoyed this hotel, decent prices, really great food at their restaurants, and huge rooms, possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in at any Vegas hotel. Their employees are also pretty awesome, they really appreciate their guests.
Not too crowded, large functional room , free parking, easy freeway access and comfy after a full day of hiking
Very nice hotel with my favorite show: WOW. I'm pretty sure it's an acronym for "World of Water". Simply spectacular. The buffet was excellent as well. The Rio seems to do a lot of things very well. I didn't stay in a room (yet) so I cannot comment there.
Usually pretty happy with our stay but not this time. We arrived to a room that had just had the carpets cleaned. Carpet was soaked, my daughter almost slipped after walking on carpet onto tile so we had to move. Long story short, we had to move 2 times to finally get the room we booked and they only returned out resort fee to us not the hotel stay.
I only stayed here because the room was comped & they had 4 pools. The room was old there was a tear in the rug the beds were comfortable but clearly have seen better days... basically the room needs major updating but u get what you pay for
The hotel is pretty cool, got a good view of the strip from our room. Lots of good food that will filk you up
Old place with dated rooms, staff is extremely unfriendly and terrible value.
My friend and I went here because I had been told that there were aerialists and trapeze artists and things like that that we could go watch for free. Unfortunately they discontinued that several years ago. We were going to eat here and do some gambling but decided to head to the strip instead. The front desk gentleman was very friendly and nice when we made the inquiry but beyond that we didn't have much interaction at the hotel. It seemed a little run-down and not merely as glitzy and nice as the strip hotels.
Breakfast at Hash House a Go Go inside Rio casino and hotel. This was delicious, potatoes perfectly seasoned, egg whites and bacon...pancake just ok! But I'd definitely eat here again.
So many amenities, the live music is fantastic. The convention center could use a better way to show what rooms are hosting what. The elevators to get up to the rooms has a wait. The building is amazing and the atmosphere is fantastic
Clean, but smelled cigarette, i know it is smoking place. but if you dont care about that smell then 5 stars. but for me i dont like the smell
Better gaming than Caesars properties on the strip.
Great hotel. Only bad experience was I asked a waitress for a drink staying there and gambling she said the bar is right over there.
Cant beat the price but this hotel needs some serious updates. The rooms are spaced but furnished with things you might see at your grandma's house. Also the carpeting really could use an update. This is a case of "you get what you pay for".
Staff was very welcoming from the get-go ... rooms were clean dot-dot-dot and there was a lot of shows Inside the Hotel only downfall was it was pretty far from the strip ...would love to come back if the hotel threw in a Uber or cab allowance
Hotel is nice. Pool area is great. They have some great food, the voodoo up top has a great steak house. The rooms are decent and clean. Not sure what the deal is with the super small pillows on a king bed though I've never seen a pillow so small. I would stay again.
This is a beautiful hotel, casino and resort! Enjoy it...
The hotel is ok, but definitely outdated. We only stayed here because we were attending a convention on site. The room was clean but we ended up getting a handicap accessible room which was completely different from the pictures we saw and expected our room to be. Management needs to do more to make the hotel look decent. This is the first and last time I will be staying at this place.
Great rooms and the desk person was fantastic. The pool is big and beautiful. Would highly recommend
Staff overall very good job. The room we stayed in could use an update but all good. The Masquerade tower appears to be the better choice. Food and beverage all great. Pool area if you are over 21 go to the over 21 area the other pools are hit or miss on open during week. Lost a star for Bell Sevice which was nonexistent.
The rooms are large, although a little dated. I would like to see a better variety of restaurants. For example, there's really only Starbucks and the Sports Bar for breakfast. A bagel shop would be nice. Lunch seems to be confined to mostly burgers. There are no fresh salads available anywhere for lunch.
We went to eat at the Rio. We decided on the All American Bar & Grill. It took us about 10 minutes before any server showed up to get us water, but he could not take our drink or food order. After finally getting an order taken, the food was excellent! The philly cheesesteak was amazing and the fries were great!
Dated rooms that look nothing like the websites. I can deal with dated, but dirty, yuck. Friendly staff though.
We were here to gamble for a bit and to see Penn & Teller. Very nice variety of slot machines, the waitresses on the floor were nice and pleasant. The drinks were good as well. The show was fantastic! It was a great theater with very courteous staff. I'd like to stay here next time we're in town.
Not terrible but the hotel is in bad need of a remodel! Also can still smell cigarette smoke in your non smoking room.
Do not stay here, unless you want to sleep in an ashtray! We entered our room and were knocked over by the smell of cigarette smoke. Called Mgt -- we don't have the staff to relocated you...no more rooms...BS at 3PM! House Keeping was to come up -- no show,,,we had to track down a house keeper, get the spray ourselves and try and get the smoke out. Did not work it was in the sheets, walls, furniture. Mgt said they would send some "magic machine" up to clean it...we left our room hours early so the could...no machine. Said they would wave resort fees ... had to fight for this at check out. It's obvious Rio does not care about it's guest!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU LIVE IN AN ASHTRAY
A must see Penn and Teller was one of the best shows I've seen in my whole life!!! And even better you get to meet them both at the end of the night !!! A must see if your in Vegas !!!!
First time staying at this hotel and I Love It Great service, kind and friendly.
It's Vegas and a Casino.. what can I say. Indoor smoking allowed and a bit dated. The place is huge and signage is terrible if you don't know where you are going. Staff was plentiful and helpful.
We went to Carnival world buffet. Food was good but their manager discriminated against us and we don't want to go to rio ever again. Very bad experience.
Old rundown feel, wouldn't let us check out of room at 8am, no coffee or water in room, no cups in room, comfortable bed, no coupons or perks, zip line was great, rude staff at the hash house restaurant
their Chinese restaurant served very delicious food than my expectations.
The room was nice, clean, and has plenty of space. It has a hot tub in the bathroom, and the window has a great view. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the incredibly slow check in service. We arrived at 11:30pm, and we didn't get our room untill 1:20 AM.
Great Resort!! Treated With Class and Respect Even Took Home A Lil Earnings. Carnival Buffet, The Rio Has Many Options.
Went to Comedy Cellar
It was great!
Room was very big. Not what we would consider a true "suite" but much bigger than your standard hotel room, totally comfortable. Hotel is clean and easy to get around in, all staff was friendly and helpful.
Pool area is nice with 4 different pools, was not crowded when we were there.
The automated check in terminal did not work for us, so we had to wait in a long line to check in.
Fitness centre was well equipped, but too small for the amount of equipment in the room. It is great if you want to use a treadmill or one of the weight machines, but it is difficult to find a spot to use free weights without being in the way.
Went to Guy Fieris restaurant El Borracho. Lada our server was a genius fast nice server. Food was good but a bit pricey for the type of food & $14 margaritas.
I visited the hotel to experience Voodo Zipline at top floor from Casino to Hotel. Staff was helping and guided well. When I was at top floor and wanted to go to the roof with club just to shoot some pictures but security didn't allow. They wanted me to go downstairs again and then come up for club but I don't want to enter the club.
The view of Las Vegas Strip is awesome.
The Rio is incredible the view is out of this world my goodness! If you are in Vegas this is a must see!
They have the best view of fireworks for NYE.
Great hospitality of staff.
Room was spacious. Delicious Buffett. Starbucks inside was a wonderful treat.
Live DJ at night in bar area during entire stay.
Parking was easy.
The room was beautiful, and the price was really great!
Really nice room for the price! Very spacious! And we were really close to the front door which is a rarity for the price!
Warning : Front Desk Service is really bad. Careful!!! They will Charge you extra if you coming before 3pm check in time. Hotel is not Kids friendly. Security will not allow kids to walk through Hallway of Casino. They will not clean trash from the room. Restaurants are pricy than outside restaurants. So Better plan to eat out side. 4th of July week whole Casino is Empty !!! Make sense .
The hotel is well-appointed. Since it's off-Strip, it not quite as busy as some of the other hotels. Very friendly staff throughout. And all rooms are suites so they're a bit more spacious than other hotels standard rooms. The pool area is awesome! Several large pools, some with waterfalls. Many different dining choices. Downsides? No shuttle to the Strip. So be prepared to do a little driving if you want to visit other major hotels/shops/casinos. (Or pay for cabs or Uber) Machines also seemed to be a bit tight in my opinion.
It's okay. Things like no coffee makers in the rooms, no garbage can in the main room, an awkward TV set up, not great sound barriers from loud guests, and really poor water pressure on the 3rd floor shower. We opted out of housekeeping to get a meal credit and it never was provided. Could use an airport shuttle in such a visitor city. Pool was freezing, you know it's cold when even excited little kids last 2-3 minutes before giving up and getting out.
On the plus side it's clean, the staff is friendly and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are tastefully decorated, spacious and plenty of room to put stuff away if you opt to. There are several restaurant options with good food at casino prices. Lots of gaming options and the Voodoo zip line was exhilarating and fun. The views were amazing.
This hotel is a little out of the way so walking to anywhere is a long one. All in all not a bad experience, just not one I am thinking I will repeat.
Nice stay...wish it was longer. But it was short and sweet. They housekeeping was on it when we needed more towels and soap
OK I was in Vegas quite a few years ago and bragged to my wife how great the buffet was. The last time we went to Vegas we didn't have time to get there. This time we made time. I was looking forward to King crab legs but was willing to settle for snow crab. I hate iced crab and shrimp. The snow crab was iced and so full of water it had no flavor. I've also seen shrimp much bigger around than the crab legs. Add to this that it was a holiday weekend and the price was even higher. We could have eaten closer to our hotel for less and gotten a better meal. It might not have been so disappointing if I hadn't seen it before when it was good.
