Robbed! On our second night staying in this hotel, my wife woke up to find the door ajar and her purse missing! Someone had broken into the room during the night and grabbed my wife's purse that was sitting just at the foot of the bed! Read the reviews on facebook, trip advisor, etc. this happens a lot. After my wife asked for another room because she didn't feel safe, they told her it would be approximately 5 hours before they could get us another room. Meanwhile we would have to leave all of our stuff in the room that was just broken into! After telling them this was unacceptable they finally moved us to a smokey suite, someone a couple doors down was smoking weed and you could smell it in the room. We spent about 4 hours at the police office filing a report, and the hotel did not try or want to do anything else. The crazy thing was that the police officer taking our report said someone staying at the RIO came in the day before and filled a police report for the same thing!!! They obviously have a problem! Also, if you want a hotel with a pool, go elsewhere. Our convention didn't get out until 5:30 everyday and the pool closes at 6. So, the next day we went on our lunch break and they were telling everyone they were closing down the pool for a "private party" for the rest of the day. There were quite a few people upset and we tried to talk to a manager only to be told that the pool was not part of nor an amenity of the hotel! What!? They were unwilling to budge so we contacted corporate (an awesome guy named Ben helped us) and really helped us out. He was the highlight of the week. The rooms were terribly outdated, worn furniture from who knows when. THE WORST experience I have EVER had staying anywhere.
