I Love this place. It is the most relaxing and enjoyable Autumn adventure around. If you haven't come, you seriously need to experience this place. The apple cider and the chicken pot pie at the Tavern are to die for. Bring your girlfriend or the wife and kids up. This place ROCKS!

Travel back to the colonial times! So much fun here. There s tomahawk throwing, archery, candle dipping & more! This is a huge farm that offers shuttles to the apple picking area. We dined at The Hawk s Head and had a DELICIOUS meal! It exceeded my expectations. The chicken pot pie was homey and to die for. The braised beef sandwich was amazing... surprisingly not heavy tasting!! Potato salad served on the side was yumyum. Hubby and I were so satisfied.

Loved it. Looks really colonial. All staff is dressed in colonial clothing. Apple dumpling was heaven. Many nice activities for kids like apple picking, archery, tomahawk and others. Nice for 2 hours with the kids. Gets cold as its pretty high.

We went up for a day trip. Started at the main farm. So cute, restaurant and activities. Buy tickets for candle making, archery, tomahawk throwing. Then take your car up the road to the orchards. Thry have corn, apples pumpkins, flowers sheep and a bull. The apple press is a bit expensive but a nice expreience. For lunch, they have a lil barn by the orchards, best bbq, tender tasty and it comes with a drink. sooo cheap and delicious. It is a great day trip. Wholesome fun. When we went they had an irish band playing floggin molly hits. Must experience.

Love this place! Every Saturday is full of amazing activities and fun. Needs some work with maps and information from newcomers, otherwise a great place to go for some family friendly fun. I suggest the colonial area with tomahawk throwing by Rollain and candledipping/corn husk doll making by another Rollain. Though the blacksmithing presentation is always fun.

Only not giving 5 stars because of the hot weather. Great place for school kids to go back in time a bit to experience history and how our American ancestors lived. Realistic costumes, vignettes, etc. Many of the parents were also buying apple pies to take home with them. Apparently the history covered is divided between gold rush, civil war, and independence from Britain..different days for different history emphasis.

Not much to do here when they are not playing out battle scenes. They have a very good restaurant and a small petting zoo with some aggressive sheep. Their blacksmith was excellent although the bow and arrow staff could take a few pointers from the blacksmith on how to stay in character.

Absolutely amazing Civil War experience! Really immersive, and the dressed-up workers there REALLY treat you like a recruit! An absolute must for teachers or parents who want to teach their child/student about the Civil War through a hands-on experience!

Went mid-October to pick apples. They were completely gone. The area is beautiful, and the food was great at the tavern. Just make sure you research ahead of time to ensure they have the fruit you want to pick. Parking can get crazy mid day, so get there early if you want an easier time. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

An Annual Fall visit is a must, before the September rush. We love Rileys, its more homey than the other options in town, takes us back to our childhood, when things were simpler. Taking fruit right off the tree/bush is something every child should experience. WE LOVE RILEYS

We've been to several of their Living History days and they were all exceptional. Lessons learned through experience are less likely forgotten. The actors are great with kids, keeping them engaged and moving so that they never have a chance to get bored. They also explain difficult concepts in ways that are easy to understand. Great for any elementary age child.

The restaurant had a menu of foods similar to old times in those days. The workers dressed in their costumes to give you a reality of what they wore back then.

This place was great!! Our 1st time in Oak Glen. This place was definitely worth the visit at least once.
Your typical orchard/farm where you pick you own fruit. I went Sept 15th. Apples and pears you pick by the pound. Blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries you pick by pay by the basket. At the top, there is the a cider press where you can make your own cider.
They also have few livestock just to keep the kids busy.
There are 2 restaurants: bbq at the top of the hill next to the store and the Hawk Tavern at the bottom of the hill. We went to the tavern and that pot pie does not disappoint. We also ordered the spinach dip which was good. The apple pie and cider were also good but a little on too sweet for my taste.
Tips: park your car where you want to have lunch (top of the hill or bottom). Start your journey at the top of the hill (take their tractor shuttle if you do not want go walk, it takes you from the bottom and top). And work your way down. That way you do not waste time going back and forth or to walk uphill

Had a great time! The whole entire cast was good! And I say cast not staff or employees because as soon as we got on the farm they were in character the entire time even when they were alone off to the side they were still in character. The chicken pot pie was out of this world! Very delicious and fresh! So was the apple turnovers!
Can't wait to go here again!

I loved the apples here! I went here and got about 25 apples. They tasted so much better than store-bought ones. There are a good amount of bugs, but they only go for the apples on the ground. The price for the apples was WAY cheaper than I thought it would be. The scenery was awesome also. I really loved this farm. Thank you for great apples Rileys'!

My family and I had a lot of fun apple picking. We made homemade apple pie from the apples we picked and it came out delicious. You must wash the apples you pick really well because they spray a pesticide. We threw tomahawks and went to the bakery. We will he back in the Spring to see all of their flower fields in bloom.

Riley s Farm and the other properties owned by the Riley family in Oak Glen are popular places to go in southern California in the fall. James Patrick Riley is the owner. It was really hard to choose from among his array of racist, homophobic, misogynistic, obnoxious tweets, maybe there are better places to spend your money this fall.
