I miss how it was before they split everything up. I'm sorry but your parents had a good thing going. I'm still unsure why we 1700s revolutionary type reenactments happening in southern Cali. I miss the giant 1860s candy shop in the big barn, and the hay rides. I'm glad I got to see it back in the day and experience that, Rileys used to be my fanilys number one spot, now we don't go at all, can't get over every thing on how it is now

An experience everyone should have at least once in their life but once you come you'll want to come back. The food is quality and tasty. The staff are polite and everything makes you feel as though you have time traveled to the 18th century. The colonial faire is a fun day trip and a great way to teach your children history or remember what you forgot in high school. There are activities for the children to do and learn what it was like. And demonstrations and reenactments abound.

Just wish they were also open on Sundays.

Nice place to get the family out for a day away from city life. Nothing special here. The apples are not the best and are very expensive. $4 per pound and the apples are not that great. There are many places to choose from that have better crops, in my opinion.

The farm is fairly small. However, it is nice just to get away and walk around.

Not much of a review here because that wraps things up.

The food at the restaurant was just alright. It was overpriced and also seemed basic, like something i could have made myself for way less money. The sandwhich I ordered came with a side of apples and when it came it was served in a tiny little sauce cup. For having thousands of apples on the farm they sure are cheap with how much they give you....

This is a beautiful farm. You pick the fruits yourself. We picked raspberries. As there lots of other people in the raspberry vines, and we didn't get there early in the day,the fruit was pretty much picked through and it was probably like 95% of the fruit was spoiled, or hard a rock, and we were told do not pick mushy fruit because if the fruit flies. So when we had finished picking, we had not filled the small plastic container they had given us to out the berries in. A lot further up the hill are the blackberries and strawberries, but I was worn out and decided to head back to the car to wait for the rest of my family to go pick some. I walk with a walker and it was not easy for me in any place to get my walker through the rocks and sand that you( my walker actually) sank into and my oldest grandson had to pull my walker and me through the part of the farm we went in, and back to the car. For me it was really not a wonderful experience. If I were in a motorized chair or scooter, I'm sure it would be a different story. My daughter says that the farm has people dressed in colonial attire and they work performing duties all over the farm. And they teach the patrons about the job they are doing and the life back then. Like how Williamsburg is run.
There is also a restaurant there which is said to be very good. But as if now it has pick up only for pre-ordered food. My one grandsons friend used to work at the restaurant and he says it is a very great place. Not just the restaurant. Today we could not pick apples. It isn't harvest time for them yet. I am sure I will go again for the apple harvest time.

I remember going here 20-plus years ago when my older daughter was very small. The fun of picking your own apples and pears along with seeing the colonial-style mansion and the live demonstrations of things presented, really gives you a great feeling of what it was like back in the colonial days. It is a great place to spend with your family and true to form picking and buying the apples there may be a bit more expensive than the store, but the memories you make by doing that with your kids, are priceless!

During this pandemic NO mask requirements? And no social distancing? These people there do not care for your safety , for their employees safety.... none. I will never go back there again, nor will anyone from my family. I was so upset, it took me 2 weeks to post this, but I have to just to warn others.

So much fun throwing tomahawks and shooting bow and arrows! Prices are high on products like apples and cider, but that is true of all orchards in the area. I really like this place. The blacksmith was awesome to talk to as well.

This place is amazing. Reasonably priced, beautiful nature, accurate history and one of the few people standing up for the First Amendment. The cider is the best and all the food is amazing. The crafts and activities are fun for all ages. Highly recommend at any season.

Great place for a getaway! Period costumes, colonial demonstrations, nice restaurant, all very enjoyable! Apple picking is pricey, and though they were very fresh the apples weren't very tasty.

One of the best living history museums/reenactments I've ever been to. The staff are great and stay in character even when they are asked questions about how it is to work there. My children had a very good time learning about the American Revolution and life in the Colonies.

Ate at the Hawks Head restaurant for lunch November 2017. Portions were huge! The Stilton Cheese appetizer was phenomenal, we LOVE cheese. Also thought the Harvest Salad was also giant and very very good. Flavors complemented each other well. Staff was friendly. Didn't hover, but wasn't hard to reach either which was real nice. Pleasant, quiet atmosphere and location. Would recommend for something out of the ordinary.

I love to visit Riley's Farm. It's old time ambiance. It's fun to see how they make the Apple juice from the apples. My kids have gone there on field trips as well and have always enjoyed it. The only drawback is, It's mainly a weekend place to visit.

Bad first: Not quite entertaining enough, needs comedic elements; Good next: Better than learning from a textbook, puts you in the experience of the 1850s in the civil war, as in it makes you feel like you are there, in that era.

Some love this place others...so so. It's so so to me. The Pot Pie is ok a little bland but I do favor the Apple Turnover, YUM. The kids seem to get into the reenactment ie;Red Coats/Blue Coats

My child went on a field trip with her class. We were told we could advance order on Riley's website a food item. I ordered an $18 pie. I printed the receipt, gave it to my daughter, and told her to tell her teacher. She followed directions- she took the receipt, and gave it to her teacher ( was a sub). My daughter said the teacher took the receipt to "workers," came back and said she didn't get a pie. I called Riley's Farm the next day and spoke to their reservation person- Sherry- who was not very helpful. I was informed there were over 700 students at the farm that day and it is up to the student and their teacher to get the pie. At no point do they tell students who ordered to come up, they do not all the students' names, or have a way for the student to know to go get the pie I could not get a refund. I don't believe I should be charged for a pie we never got!!!!!! If they do not have a way to make sure students get their items then they should NOT offer this service.

My family goes here every time we visit LA to see our family. The food at the tavern is amazing, the atmosphere is truly authentic from the costumes of the employees to the architecture of the buildings. The U-puck has wonderful berries, pumpkins, pears, and of course apples all in a picturesque setting. This a gem in the mountains. A must see!

We had a great time at Riley's farm. Berry picking and the 18th century atmosphere was a nice change of pace from the slog of 21st Century life. The Hawk's Head Tavern had really good food as well with delicious mead, all in period correct outfits and atmosphere. It was very enjoyable.

Enjoyed a pleasant lunch with my family. The historic ambiance of the property is one of most fun aspects. They wear costumes, assume roles, and speak in accents colonial. This was at the Hawk's Head Tavern, the eatery on the property.

Pros:
Homemade pot pies, buttery flakey crust, well cooked orange ginger carrots, flavorful garlic green beans, extraordinary frosted pewter mugs, homemade apple cider, stilton cheese appetizer was potent and creamy, historical tavern ambiance, friendly service.
Cons:
When the lunch rush hit, they seemed a little too under prepared. They did not clear dishes for the next course. So, there was not a comfortable amount of room to eat our dessert.

The restaurant is a great stop. They do their best to make you feel transported back in time. The clothing, utensils, and menu. The French toast made from fresh baked bread is the thickest slice of heaven. I ate that from my kid's plate, but I ordered eggs Benedict. YUM.

My family and I have made coming to Riley's Farm an annual tradition for the last 8 years. Originally we came just for pumpkins, but over the years we have made a day of it and started picking apples, grabbing lunch, and for the last two years, visiting for the Sleepy Hollow Dinner.

I was disappointed with this year's pumpkin and apple crops. Although it was the first week of October we left without any pumpkins since we didn't find any we liked and the apple orchards were practically barren. We found more decent apples on the ground than on the trees. This is a trend I have been noticing over the last few years, which is unfortunate because it's the main reason we come here.

Another thing I've noticed is that the people running the farm and its events are obviously devout Christians. While this isn't an issue for me, it's definitely not something that's really mentioned on their website, so when the Sleepy Hollow dinner is kicked off with a prayer, it throws you a bit. Tonight's dinner ended with a religious song, which again, isn't really an issue, but it can be a bit awkward if you're not a religious person and aren't joining in in the singing. This is just something I think people should be aware of in case they are offended by it, or for some reason don't want to partake in it.

All things considered, we'll continue to make Riley's Farm part of our annual fall tradition. And if you're staying for lunch be sure to try the Tri Tip it's delicious!

What a amazing place. My wife and kids love to come up to the Farm . Great food, things for the kids to enjoy. The historical atmosphere is a great way to forget about the week and to relax.

As a former employee, Im glad that I do not work here anymore because it is a bad work environment and that is coming from someone who used to work at Raging Waters and that place was very terrible. At least Raging Waters took genuine concerns and safety measures their employees whenever they were threatened by the guests or felt unsafe.... unlike this place. Sad to say it but someone had too.

Great place! We did the Goldrush Tour and it was pretty extensive, very interactive and engaging and pretty accurate. No sugar coating of anything. Kids got to participate in a live auction at the end to use whatever money they earned during the gold panning or chores they did. Beautiful grounds. Lots to see and do. Appreciate the fact Rileys engages in common sense about Covid-19.

Well run educational program to learn about colonial time America. It's well organized and it showed the professionism everyone at the farm had. There were about 10 schools there , but everything went the way it was supposed to.

The apple pie and he chicken pot pie were fantastic as well. The bakery worked well to accommodate all for he orders.

Will definitely come back. Thank you!

The prices are high,
The food was horrible.
I will never set foot on their property again.

Eating at The Hawk's Head Public House at Riley's Farm is an experience. The staff is all dressed in colonial garb and the decor and ambience follows suit. It's wonderful. I especially loved their signature pewter mugs that keep your drinks ICE COLD!

My wife ordered the chicken pot pie and I had the Forfar Bridies and they were delicious! For a great price too! Excellent value. The one place they could significantly improve is the kid's menu. Luckily, my son loves hot dogs (which I'm not thrilled about), so we were ok... but the kid's menu was literally a hot dog, grilled cheese or one other thing I can't remember that wasn't much healthier. The apple sauce which we ALL got was unbelievable and the garlic green beans my wife and I both had were also fantastic.

The other great thing about this place is that you can explore the grounds, where they have different colonial buildings. On weekends and special days they also offer games and crafts for the kids! Everything from archery to tomahawk throwing!

We had a very good time and would absolutely go back! I hope they're open during Christmas time as I'd LOVE to see how they decorate!!!

Went the weekend before Christmas. It was a beautiful day to be outside, enjoying the fresh air and participating in the activities! The few downsides were: very long lines (waiting for at least an hour for tomahawk throwing and archery,, some unfriendly staff, and I paid online the day before to get the discount and paid extra for 3 "not included with admission" activities but turns out I didn't have to pay the extra $15 because they were included. The pot pie and corn chowder were good, but not worth standing in line for almost an hour.

I have been here multiple times for apple picking, reenactments, and school field trips. I just went this past Saturday to their Sleepy Hollow event. I have been wanting to go for so long but it is always sold out. I loved it and had such a good time. There is a hayride, delicious dinner, a 3 part play, apple bobbing, pumpkin carving contest, pumpkin seed spitting contest, & pumpkin pie eating contest, dancing. The employees were awesome and do it all. The actors, serve the food, bus the tables, clean.... it is crazy!!! I highly recommend going to this event if you can get tickets!
