Really great experience. This is a working Apple farm that doubles as a revolutionary war reenactment living history center. The reenactment actors are amazingly informed and entertaining. Apple pie is amazing of course. Only thing that I would criticize is the sheer number of schools they allow at one time makes the whole thing feel chaotic.

We went to Riley's a while back and had a genuinely middling experience. There weren't many apples and the ones we picked tasted normal. Not good or bad, just normal. Staff were also less than friendly, which is odd for a farm. This is coming from someone who visits Julian almost every year.

Riley's shared that they will not be enforcing the state mandate to wear masks in public. The economics behind the decision are obvious - this business doesn't want to lose customers who choose not to wear masks. Simply put, Riley's is willing to risk your health for profit. After they mock you on social media, of course.

There are lots of places to pick apples, and I can't think of any reason to do it here.

A great place to go with the kids. My youngest son came here today with his school and he had a great time. By the time we got to our car he was so exhausted from his fun field trip. The beef jerky was the bomb, made fresh $3.00 for 1 big piece but very good so well worth it. We so plan on coming back here to try out the restaurant all homemade foods.

It was a perfect day to pick a few Granny Smith apples for my Thanksgiving Day pie! I enjoyed walking about the grounds and seeing everyone enjoying the activities and food Riley's Farm had to offer. The glass of wine and the beautiful rose bush on the patio was a great way to end my visit.

A fantastic place to wander among historical buildings and a working farm. There are several exhibits and some tasty grub. Some days they have battle recreations. A gift shop for souvenirs and delicious teas. It's a great place to bring your kids.

My sister brought our whole family here. I had never heard of this place & I didn't know apple picking was a thing one could do so I was pleasantly surprised. It's best to go during the peak season in order to pick apples. As it was for us, we didn't find many to pick. But it was still absolutely beautiful to walk through the orchards. There was also the chance to make your own cider, which we did & turned out delicious. We also bought a whole apple pie which we could tell was homemade and very good. Plus, a bunch of other activities available for people with kids. I loved my experience here & hope to go back next year.

Great place to enjoy a walk with your family. There's a lot to look at here. You can also find merchandise that is made from their own fruits that they grow on site. Most of their merchandise is like that. Only bad thing is that they start closing close pretty early. If you truly want to enjoy this place get there early.

This place is kind of gimmicky, but has its charm.

For apple picking, they have newton apples, pippins apples, and granny smith; if you care about the particular varieties anyway.

Otherwise, this is kind of a staple stop for people who enjoy a fall visit to a socal farm. It's quaint and lovely.

Watching the children reenact the Revolutionary War and the Civil War is amazingly fun.....AND they're learning at the same time. Come on up. On Saturdays we have Tomahawk Throwing, Archery, Candlestick Making, Blacksmith and even a booth for making Corn Husk Dolls. Operational hours are M-S 9 to 4. And a little-known fact about Rileys is we have great dinner theaters check them out online.

Oh and on your visit don't forget to stop by the Hawks Head Tavern to have some of art amazing chicken pot pies or corn chowder in a bread bowl.

Always my favorite place to go in Oak Glen. This location offers a colonial mercantile shop and Hawks head restaurant in the front and a backwoods bbq in the back (bbq only offered during apple season). They offer tomahawk throwing, archery and candle making as well as a u-pick selection of berries, apples, pears, flowers, squash and pumpkins depending on the season. They charge by the bag or the container. I recommend the glen seedlings as they are an Oak Glen specialty apple.

*They have the BEST pies in Oak Glen. You can order these unbaked and bake them at home. Beautiful scenery and amazing food, service and atmosphere.

Side note: bathrooms are located across from Hawks Head Restaurant. Please be patient for good food and good times.

Fun place to pick apples, drink cider, and take in the great country air. John gave us lots of good tips for picking apples. We knew exactly what to do and where to go for the apples we wanted. And the apples are delicious! They offer samples of their apple butter, pumpkin butter, and other jams. You can also participate in crafts and press your own cider. It was a fun place for any age.

Great place for families. Many different kinds of activities, which you can find on their event page. Nice place for lunch and dessert. Ther had chicken pot pies and beef and potato pies, as well as a couple of sandwich choices.
Their apple pies were heaped up over the top of the pan, or the next stop down they were flat across the top and $6 less.

Took a day camp there we had a blast very interesting setting. A lot of walking though. Timed children activities which was good.limited food options. There is a small gift shop with medium priced items for the kids. Sodas candy options. Small parking lot. But overall i would recommend this place. But call ahead and make sure they are completely well staffed so you can get your money's worth

We had a great day here! Picked apples, made cider, threw tomahawks, made candles and got to see a musket demonstration. Perfect fall day trip! The cast there stayed in character and we learned a few things about daily life in the past. The apple pie was great.

Plus you learn about history. They are dressed and play the part of a person in colonial times.

A favorite for our family, Riley's Farm is a beautiful hidden gem. Our kids love their activities especially the tomahawk throwing and archery. During the right season, you can pick all sorts of fruits and even flowers. They're most popular is the apples but you can't beat the strawberries, they're always delicious. Make sure that if you visit Riley's Farm, you come hungry, their restaurant, The Hawk's Head Tavern is like going back in time, from the decor, to the staff, to the food, everything feels like early America. The oil lamps and pewter mugs help with the ambiance and the smell of Apple cider and food baking will make you anxious for more.
There is so much more to discover there, and I am looking forward to camping in one of their luxury tents one of these visits!

Well first off it was amazing! The weather was nice and cool! The trees were vibrant colors! Everything was just perfect and it was so much fun! It is a tourist area so no parking for starters. Get there early if you want a good spot. The picking apples was kinda pricey $3.50 a pound. 1 gallon of apple cider was $24.00! We didn t get any but they have individual glasses and it sure was yummy! Everyone was nice! Definitely worth going!

Riley's Farm is like stepping back in time and place to 18th century colonial America. A real Farm, you can pick fruit in it's season, enjoy fresh food at the Hawks Head tavern.Special events and dinner theater happens throughout the year.
