This place is legit! We had such a nice experience for 3 days on Trek. The whole property is beautiful, and the Trek was very well run. If anyone is considering doing Trek here or any other activity that they offer, I would highly recommend it!
Great place for Apple picking, historical reenactments, shopping, and other fun activities.
Great place. Full of history.. Good food.. Service and a fun place to be at!
i went to Riley's Farm on a field trip when i was in fifth grade. i am now in college. i have always remembered the experience and being one of the best thing we did in school. i have always remembered Riley's Farm as being exciting and adventurous. i go with my family once a year to relive the memories. i plan to go back very soon.
This place is awesome. Get to pick your own fruit and pumpkins and what not. And the little store they have has some pretty cool stuff as well
Great place for kids to learn how it used to be before technology.
Amazing place to visit and the apples are always the best
A great place to take the family wonderful apple pie
We come hear every year. Always have a good time. Apple picking, berry picking, corn maze, pumpkin patch, hay rides. Now it's an event 20-40 of us go at a time.
It is really pretty and the apples are delicious but expensive. All of the other attractions were closed so we only did apple picking. We had a good time.
Nice place to get the family out for a day away from city life. Nothing special here. The apples are not the best and are very expensive. $4 per pound and the apples are not that great. There are many places to choose from that have better crops, in my opinion.
The farm is fairly small. However, it is nice just to get away and walk around.
Not much of a review here because that wraps things up.
Your employees smell and suck and give rude service it should be called devil farm but the food is good just not the workers
We love everything about this place, the food, the ambience.
Very educational the staff stayed in character or the whole day and the kids just loved it
Excelente history place
Hard to find a place like that
At the time we went there were no more apples. Parking was free, we picked strawberries which were delicious, the store was rather small. Did not sample the BBQ.
The drive here is risky and dangerous as either side is mountain and deep hill so please drive carefully. Be careful of the bees during blooming season along with Red Ant on the ground or tree because their bites are very painful. Great place for kid to learn more about history as staffs are knowledgeable.
Lots of things to see and different areas to explore. Definitely a cool place to take photos. The produce was decent and the cooked/baked food you can purchase was delicious. There are samples of the various foods in the general store. The live entertainment was delightful, and staff very helpful. Definitely wear shoes you can hike in and be prepared for dirt and semi-steep inclines. There's a complimentary tractor ride up and down the hill though. Also, bring your own reusable bag in case their paper bags break. 8/10 would recommend for families and people who need a break from city life for an afternoon.
Went there on a field trip with Springs Charter School Del Rio. We went back in time when there was no technology. The students realize how much easier life is now than what it was back then. Great experience for students!
We love Fall at Riley's! We went on Columbus Day expecting big crowds but were pleasantly surprised. We picked a pumpkin, pet and fed some sheep and goats, enjoyed apple tarts, dipped candles and threw tomahawks! Great family fun!
We went up for a day trip. Started at the main farm. So cute, restaurant and activities. Buy tickets for candle making, archery, tomahawk throwing. Then take your car up the road to the orchards. Thry have corn, apples pumpkins, flowers sheep and a bull. The apple press is a bit expensive but a nice expreience. For lunch, they have a lil barn by the orchards, best bbq, tender tasty and it comes with a drink. sooo cheap and delicious. It is a great day trip. Wholesome fun. When we went they had an irish band playing floggin molly hits. Must experience.
Delightful recreation of colonial times. Had a candlelit holiday dinner here with time-appropriate food, decor, staff in costume & character, and activities - including hatchet throwing & carol singing! Touched an actual location of history here, fantastic experience and great family! Would highly recommend.
Riley s Farm stance to COVID19, consumers have a choice. I choose Never to go back to Riley s. Read for yourself.
Love visiting such a historical site like this and the reason for 3 stars is because of the food.
We went to their interactive dinner theatre and it was so much fun. We found out about it just from going to their website to see about apple picking, and so glad we jumped at the chance to see The Harvest Feast. The show is filled with everything from colonial times - food, clothes, accents, weaponry, singing, and dancing. Make sure to order a pie or pastry to take home - they're terrific.
We have brought our children to the farm almost every year of their growing up! They are all grown now and my Wife and I will still visit to enjoy a great day. The scenery, the food, the staff!!! Top notch!!!
Menu in the restaurant looked great.. everything seemed clean. We just didn't have time to stop for lunch today.. but grounds are very attractive. We did however attend a Sleepy Hollow showing last year.. all was great aside from the intense use of kerosene lamps in a semi-closed hall full of people... it was quite strong for a few folks who were sensitive to it. Maybe some LED lighting would work better, albeit the lamps do create ambiance.
This place was amazing and I loved everything about it! Exactly what my family and I needed around Christmas time! The people that worked there were extremely friendly and the food was great!!! The apple pie was honestly the best apple pie I ever had as well. I wish I would of heard about this place sooner but glad we found it now and we will definitely be returning again in near future .
Apple picking was fun. They provide samples of many apples and apple cider
Went today with my Mom, two sisters, oldest son, granddaughter and his girlfriend. It was absolutely amazing. We picked apples and pumkins.
Great place family FUN.
Absolutely love this place! The rolling hills look just like the hills back East. Historic Colonial atmosphere, wonderful theater productions and special events. Great authentic Colonial fare at the Hawk's Head Tavern. Delicious baked goods to enjoy there or bring home. Romantic dining. Staff throughout location dressed in period clothing. It's the Colonial Williamsburg of the West Coast.
Love this place!! Staf is wonderful and polite. Wandering around the farm is the best!! Will always return.
pretty cool place to spend a few
hours
I love coming up here my family and I come up in October for 6yesrs now just live iy
Riley's apple farm is one of the many orchards you will find driving down Oak Glen Rd. We picked this farm since it was the first one we found and it was great! Lots of apple trees, friendly staff and lots of fun activities. Honestly, your kids will love the overall experience. Prices are not bad either!
Great I went for the gold rush trip very realistic!
They make very yummy pie and offer ice cream with it.
A nice place to visit. Eady to shop there or just walk around & enjoy the atmosphere. Lots going on at the time
Had a great time at Riley's Farm. Went to have lunch and it was really good. It was the best!
Was open despite Covid-19. To go food only but was tasty. Had a small beer/wine bar setup outside. Nice patio seating and even some live entertainment. Some employees are dressed up as if 1800's.
There is an archery, a bullet maker, a store, ax throwing, etc. All in a very beautiful setting. Tables for picnicking, and more.
A very nice place for a family outing.
Worst experience ever! In all my years of dining out, I've never been subject to such terrible customer service. We had paid roughly $50 per person several months in advance, as did approximately 35 of my family members. When we arrived, we were greeted with not enough table space or chairs, and the staff was uncooperative, unhelpful and dismissive. At this point we were standing and the show had begun, so we sat down at an empty booth that was adjacent to our party. The staff then told us we were sitting at a reserved table and we had to move. We explained to them that they had overbooked and there wasn't room to sit with our family. The staff took no accountability while simultaneously creating a scene in front of our family and other guests. They finally agreed to let us sit there. To make matters worse, when we asked why our children were not being served, we were told that they "heard we didn't pay for them." I was beside myself - I'm sorry, who told you that? At this point we just wanted to leave. Our table had not been bused, we had bowls and cups stacked up all over our table, we were not offered drinks (we had to walk up to the "bar" to get them ourselves), and each time a request was made for silverware or water for our kids, the staff would respond with very obvious attitude; it was very apparent to all of us that they were upset with us. This dining/entertainment experience in theory should have made for an enjoyable evening, however there's several things that they can't seem to get right. In conclusion, the disorganization, bad attitudes and inability to accommodate made for last memories...not good ones.
The hogs head tavern is fun and amazing for time appropriate quizine I recommend heavily.
Was there for some field trip. It was pretty good. Based off of old war stuff with red coats and muskets.
I absolutely love this place. The first time I came here I chaperoned a trip for my daughter's elementary school (5th grade) and we spent the night. When we first arrived I wanted to live there because it is so unexpectedly beautiful and serene. The class trip surpassed my expectations. Now my youngest daughter is a junior in high school and we still visit at least twice a year (we were just there two weeks ago). My oldest daughter visited from out of town and with her finance and we had a blast (archery, blacksmith, throwing tomahawks, making candles, petting the goats and leaving with a fresh baked strawberry pie). I could go on, but I won't except to say that different times of the year we go for different things like pumpkin picking, apple picking, etc). I'm grateful for Riley's Farm, it's always fun!!!
It's a bit hot, but tons of things for children to do. Nice staff.
Wonderful experience, history re-enacted and good food.
Awesome i went thier today and i loved it i had so much fun and learned more than i had known already
Loved it!! I recommend this place for teaching about history and their family events!!!
I was so excited to take my kids there, but when we arrived no one was wearing masks or social distancing. When I asked a worker about this, he was very rude and dismissive. I had been planning to bring my whole church group here also, but will be changing my plans!
Enjoyed a pleasant lunch with my family. The historic ambiance of the property is one of most fun aspects. They wear costumes, assume roles, and speak in accents colonial. This was at the Hawk's Head Tavern, the eatery on the property.
Pros:
Homemade pot pies, buttery flakey crust, well cooked orange ginger carrots, flavorful garlic green beans, extraordinary frosted pewter mugs, homemade apple cider, stilton cheese appetizer was potent and creamy, historical tavern ambiance, friendly service.
Cons:
When the lunch rush hit, they seemed a little too under prepared. They did not clear dishes for the next course. So, there was not a comfortable amount of room to eat our dessert.
We went to see sleepy hallow, at Halloween. Very much enjoyed the show, dinner, dancing and other activities. Highly recommend this for families!!!
Great staff loved all the smiles. Totally recommend this place for a family Adventure. I really loved the Carmel apple pie.
Riley's Farm is an OK destination for a little farm style nostalgia. There are other places near by that are much nicer but not as well known.
Riley is more than you think. Stop by good to the restaurant have great meal
You feel transported to the good old days and consume comfort food and commune with nature.
Not much Variety in drinks on the alcoholic beverage do you have to drink outside.
Lovely place. Great place to take the family. A little of everything to have a good time. Deducted one star because I felt there was some things were really overpriced.
We have a family tradition of picking raspberries every year. We usually go to snowline, but they didn't open until 10 a.m,. so this year we decided to try Riley's. We are so glad we came here, they have raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries. They have a really cool gift shop with a lot of history as to the Civil War. I learned that some schools actually do field trips here to educate the children as to our history of the United States. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean, and we've decided that this is our go to from now on.
I was excited to drive here from LA and finally go apple picking. However after a two hour drive when we showed up and NO ONE was wearing a mask. Not even the people in the kitchen or general stores. I understand that it was about 85 degrees out but for none of their staff to be wearing masks or enforcing masks on their guests during a global pandemic was pretty concerning. I overall felt unsafe and wanted to leave ASAP. I will say the farm is beautiful and the staff (despite not wearing masks) were very friendly.
We had a church youth group Pioneer Trek at Riley's Farm. It was great. Scott Riley was just fantastic and the whole program was amazing.
I eat here a lot since I work nearby. I must say their service is always awesome and they keep the spot neat consistently. Prices are convenient and they serve sizeable portions.
This is a yearly tradition for us. We always have fun.
Great entertainment and lessons important for all to remember
Good weekend leisure place, picking apples with family, the service staff on the farm are full of medieval style and full of retro style.
Not enough stars for the place and expectedly the food and service!
