Richmond Station is an excellent restaurant. Having done take out orders twice in the last month (pandemic life), it is clear that they take pride in their food and their business. The staff and owners go above and beyond in their customer service which puts them in a class of their own of Toronto restaurants for that alone, not to mention the delicious dishes. They ve won us over - we will be returning customers time and time again. Can only imagine how fun and enjoyable the dine in experience must be. The most recent meal we enjoyed was the new chef s meal, each course was delicious with the exclamation point being the incredible pear galette. Easy five stars.

Had heard about this place from many people as a must-try. Didn t totally understand what the big deal was until going and trying the food. Smaller spot, can have a bit of a wait but worth it. Every dish was delicious, the pork Wellington being my personal favorite.
Open kitchen cool for watching from bar. Get the tasting menu and the open wine options to save a bit of cash. You'll spend at least 200 per person. Attentive staff.
Amazing food, amazing service, ambience is casual and cosy! Service is incredible and waiters/waitresses are well informed! Burger and duck exceptional. Kids menu was super healthy and tender (roasted chicken breast). Hats off!
Easily has become one of my favorite Toronto restaurants. From the small storefront to the moment you walk in to realize it goes deep in and with two different seating areas...it changes the atmosphere as well. The staff here are great, responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. The kitchen team..outstanding. It is on the pricier side but the care and selection of the dishes are well thought out. With the tasting menu and at the chefs table..it was the best way to understand the food and see the work behind it. The food is absolutely delicious with a lot of flavors and textures (the most important part I found which made them stand out more). They were also very accommodating with allergies and courteous about it.
This is my go to restaurant when I want a fantastic meal with equally superb service. The Chef's tasting menu is my go to and it has never let me down with a series of courses that ranged from good to dishes that I still think about months later. My only grip is others know how good it is and you need to make reservations to get a table without waiting in my experience.
Wonderful place for lunch, cannot wait to go back for dinner!
The Lobster capellini was perfect! Each bite contained numerous flavors that you can choose to approach individually or in combination (my preferred choice). Chocolate Tart was well done as well for desert with multiple flavors and textures to taste.
The food was amazing, the ambience was nice but I found the service mediocre. Our waitress only came to drop off the food and explain what was on our plate but she failed to check up on us and ask us how the food was tasting. She insisted on asking several times if we wanted anything else to drink other than water. We weren't up for drinks on a Monday night, but we did order the farmer's ricotta, station burger and lamb pasta dish. The food was really good but if the service was better, I would give this place a 5 star rating.
One of my top 3 restaurants in Toronto! Great for a date or casual dinner with friends. Food never disappoints. I have introduced this spot to many different people all of whom loved the spot as much as I did. I recommend trying the chalk board menu items - the chefs at Richmond station are culinary geniuses!
This place is awesome. The atmosphere is cool. The food is delicious. A bit on the pricey side but worth it. Their burger had beets on it which I thought was less than desirable, however it added an extra level for a well rounded flavour. The chef knows what's good here. Definitely recommend!
Amazing atmosphere, attentive service. I had the beef tartare and the duck two ways. The food was unbelievably delicious and well presented. Already looking forward to going back.
Richmond Station is best known for their tasting menus that are always changing, making every visit a unique experience. I highly recommend the beef tasting menu, which is an off menu choice that you need to reserve for in advance for a min. party of 2.
I experienced one of the best meals I've ever had at Richmond Station. I was really impressed with the wide range of flavours in the Cheddar Pierogi, Pork 3 Ways, and Pumpkin Spice Tiramisu. I thought the menu overall was really inventive with the ingredients being put together, but the price points were very reasonable. The presentation of the food was spectacular, and sitting at the kitchen view counter I had a chance to see everything being put together. The service was always on point, and each course brought to us was explained in good detail. There was a nice selection of beer and wine that made sure I left with a smile on my face.
I took my man here for the first time today and we did their chefs tasting menu. Firstly, the staff was fantastic! From the moment we stepped in to the moment we got slipped the bill; this is a well organized team of bubbly, knowledgeable, lovely people. 5 stars for staff! Secondly, we were enthralled when we received 10(!) beautifully put together dishes that tantalized all aspects of food preparation and execution. I don t want to say too much here because the menu is totally a surprise, and I don t want to spoil anyone s experience. (But I will just say there were 2 desserts, so yeah, what s not to love?) Lastly, they take your likes and dislikes into account for this menu, so if you re not into some things just let them know and they will work around it - an act of top-tier customer service. Also the drinks, although pricy, were well worth it, and I recommend tasting a cocktail during your stay. We loved it! Would go again.
The best experience I have ever had at a restaurant, to date. As soon as I was sat down, they asked if I had any allergies so they could actually change their menu just to fit me! Absolutely fine food for a very reasonable price, the fact that you can actually get this quality of food for this price is
It was really good, experience overall was fun. A little let down that they did not have the salmon I had been wanting for a while. Had the tofu instead and it was nice.
Good value for money in Toronto. You can try rabbit food too. Very friendly and you can eat with very little waiting without reservation. If you have wine, the price is a bit high.
he stellar reviews DON'T LIE!! Believe the amazing rating that Richmond Station has because its 110% accurate.
I came here with my family for our annual Christmas dinner outing; we were a group of 6 and we had an 8PM reservation. We arrived and it was quite busy and it never really quieted down, and for good reason. They're doing a crazy good business in this place. We stood by the front while we waited for out table to be ready; Richmond Station isn't a large joint so we were sort of milling around a high table and ordered a few drinks to start. We were seated pretty promptly near the back where the chefs table is.
We all had looked at the menu, but for me, nothing was standing out as "I really want THAT". I wanted to try the burger, since its been touted as the best burger in the city, but to come to Richmond Station (we've been trying to get a reservation here for YEARS at Christmas time) and get a burger... seemed.... almost sacrilegious?
After perusing the menu, our server came by and made a suggestion of doing the chefs table for our party. We would give them our likes/dislikes and he'd create a menu custom for our table. We had one person who's picky who was on the fence, but after discussing, we opted to go for the chefs table. Best. Decision. Ever.
We got to try a number of fantastic dishes off the menu that we wouldn't necessarily have tried otherwise. Our only stipulation was that we wanted no seafood. We had a six course meal that was to die for. Most courses were plated family style, so we could help ourselves from a large platter or bowl.
We started with a share course: we had some oysters to start (delicious) and some polenta fries. The polenta fries were lovely, I had never thought of using polenta like that, but they were great! They also brought out the duck liver pate.. my absolute FAVOURITE. The pate itself was light as a feather, almost whipped, and sinfully delicious!!
Next was an absolutely fabulous charcuterie - the touches on the charcuterie just put it over the top. Lovely grainy mustards, pickled vegetables, beets, just amazing with the fantastic selection of meats.
Our next course was a selection of their salads, which included quinoa salad, a beet salad and a roasted carrot salad. All of which were absolutely incredible. My father commented that he wasn't super interested in the quinoa salad at first but it ended up being the table favourite. Such amazing flavors pulled together!
We had a mushroom ravioli, which was incredibly rich and decadent. The portions for this course were small (on purpose) but I know that there's no way I could have eaten a full portion of the ravioli! Such an amazing mouthful of pasta but SO very rich!
For the mains, they brought out rabbit two ways, served family style and two station burgers that had been quartered for us to share. I was really pleased that we got to try both of these dishes - the rabbit was incredible, I've never had rabbit before and one was fried with breading and it was AMAZING. They had daikon in with the rabbit but after trying some, I learned I'm not a fan of daikon, so I just avoided it. The burger was truly one of the best burgers I've had. Wonderful mouth feel, wonderful toppings, just expertly put together.
To finish, we had the special dessert, which I can't quite remember but it included a mocha ice cream and "snow" merangue pieces with some kind of mousse I think. We were all so full but the dessert was just the icing on the cake for the end of the meal. Perfection.
Drinks were fun, lots of neat names and some really interesting concoctions.
Richmond Station is a must see for anyone visiting who's a foodie. You won't regret having to wait for a reservation, its SO completely worth it. So, what are you waiting for?! :D
Awesome meal! Son took us there for my 50 th birthday, due to their friendship we had the Chef's table my meal was perfect, the atmosphere in the back was great! Carl definitely deserves best chef in Toronto status. Richmond Station should be a destination you don't miss if you are going to be in Toronto. We don't live in the City but it was well worth the drive! Thanks for making it a great night! Everyone from wait staff to hostess to the trio in the back, thank you. Going to go back soon!
The burger is TO DIE FOR and the duck was phenomenal. Service was amazing, they brought us a beer taster to have with our meal... just because! All around wonderful experience and left feeling very satisfied. A must eat in Toronto. Period.
I had the Organic Tofu on a bed of caramelized onionons and wild rice, along with some roasted brocolli & Brussels sprouts. The food was delicious and atmosphere quite relaxed. Do not go here if you are used to getting meals in front of you in under 5 minutes. For the wait was long. Like looong. But if you do have time, go ahead and splurge on the delicious menu because it's worth it after all.
Usually I don t slobber over a place but Karl and his team never fail to impress with their skill, creativity and sincere love of cooking. Try anything. Try everything. If there is on place you go to in Toronto this should be the one. Atmosphere is always bustling yet laid back. Perfect.
Every restaurant has a signature dish that is unique to them. The Chicken Fried Oyster Mushrooms ($12) is that special dish I have not had at any other restaurant, including Michelin Star restaurants. The crispness of the light batter and the tenderness of the mushroom makes you think you are eating calamari. The subtlety of the kewpie mayo, balancing the sweet and sour, with a touch of spicy togorashi brings the fried mushrooms over the top, so much that you wipe the plate clean. Our second favorite dish was the Saturday Slow Roast Special of Porchetta ($25). The apple and pear chutney, pork jus and pickled mustard seeds play an important part to balance the porchetta, root puree, grilled mushrooms, baby Swiss chard and chickpea panisse. The Tamworth Pork 3 Ways ($28) is a well thought out dish of pork sausage, pork tenderloin and pork croquette. The star on this plate is the croquette. The Dijon mustard seeds, pickled cabbage, roasted shallots and Reisling jus tie it all nicely together. Our least favorite was the Squash and Endive Salad ($14). Though it was a good tasting salad, there were way too much squash in the salad. Every bite became a mushy texture with maybe a few crispy greens to balance it, though the dried cherries and pepitas were a nice touch. We enjoyed our cocktails, Kiss From a Rose ($16) and English Milk Punch ($17), though Alo has a better tasting English Milk Punch.
Amazing staff and food! The experience of watching the crew in the kitchen and the love they have for one another comes through in the food they serve you. Next level!
The shareable apps were delicious. Especially the mushrooms. However, the perogies lacked flavour. Was quite dry and a let down. Ambiance and service was great.
Love this place, excellent customer service, wonderful food. Creative healthy desserts. Just don't go there if you expecting a quiet private place. For us this is our favourite place.
I ve been here several times and it s great. The food is superb and they use really fresh ingredients. One day i want to book the counter by the kitchen which always looks so fun (they serve you from inside the kitchen). But - my last visit was marred by the rude front of house staff, hence 4 stars instead of 5. We were shown to a table but i explained i d called a few days before to request one at the back. The host demanded to know who i d spoken to which i thought was odd. Of course i didn t know. She took us back to the front desk and told the girl there that we had requested a table upstairs. The girl working the ipad visibly rolled her eyes at my request. I didn t see but my boyfriend told me after that she s rolled her eyes at me when i wasn t looking. I find this impossibly rude and totally unnecessary - there was an available table upstairs and they corrected it quickly. I really have no idea why it was such a problem for them. The rest of the meal and the service was excellent, as always. Those two host girls should reconsider working in customer service.
It was definitely the best burger I have ever had. But they had so much more that looked fantastic. My wife had 2 half salads because she had a hard time deciding between the Quinoa and the Mahi-Mahi Nicoise salad. It was the perfect answer for her palate du jour and she thoroughly enjoyed. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience and we would go back in a heartbeat!
Went here last week for an early dinner and was not disappointed. Saw it was a popular restaurant through the OpenTable app and it was hard to get a reservation. I got one for 4pm last Saturday, finally! It was worth the wait! My boyfriend and I ordered a light beer made in Barrie and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was friendly and informative. We ordered the charcuterie board with a selection of meats and mustard. It was probably the best charcuterie board we have ever had. Our main course we got the rainbow trout with crispy potatoes. It was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. We ate it very quickly and hardly talked it was so good. For dessert we got the orange creamsicle. It was not like a popsicle but was very tasty. It was not an expensive meal but would have paid even more for the excellent experience I had here. I will come back for sure!
The pate was delicious and extremely creamy. Would definitely want this again. The brioche like bread was heavily buttered which made the toast perfect and elevated the richness of the pate overall. Perfect appetizer but a bit on the heavier side so just pair it well. Absolutely delicious.
A sublime and memorable tasting menu dinner experience. My party and I were fortunate enough to be seated in the semi private dining room, perfect for a group or 12. We were delighted with various tasting plates, all carefully crafted. Service was top notch with great attention to detail presented in a professional yet casual manner. Well worth the experience!!!
Fantastic, epicurean cuisine. Had an excellent charcuterie, a walnut bitter old fashioned, and the rabbit two way main. Everything was near perfect, save the black pepper dumplings (there was no black pepper!) Chocolate torte was inspired, and the orange sorbet was soothing. Ate at the chef's table, which felt like a sushi bar, but service and ordering time was friendly, knowledgeable, and impeccable. It was also fun to watch the kitchen staff work their magic with the long tweezers -- very careful measurements of each plate, and descriptions from the server (main and dessert) show the pride and care they put into their work. I'd recommend the chef's table over reservations or the bar -- it's a personal, quality experience.
The food was great, the service was fantastic. We had a baby with us and asked if they had changing table. They quickly prepared their office for us to use which was very sweet.
The food is so so, but because the service is so bad, I don't recommend new customer go. The bar waitress is not warm and is reluctant to recommend and serve. That make me order too much, waster food. And the price is unreasonable.
Only tasting menu I've ever tried but so worth it. I love that it's a good way to try new dishes without getting a full portion. Their house baked breads are really good and the burgers are super juicy. It is a different experience every time I go but that's the fun part. You can try the fixed menu or tasting :) a good date night option if you're looking for something fun.
Amazing menu that changes every so often. Been three times and am never disappointed. Everything is delicious. Great place for either a couple apps and drinks or a full meal. Not the cheapest option but great quality and value.
Very pleased with our experience here. Celebrated dad's 80th with whole family! The staff was great our server Andrew was very good. Good was awesome as well!
Easily one of the best restaurants in Toronto. The food is phenomenal, the service was fantastic and the location makes it easy for nearly everyone to get too.
I had a 3 course meal with wine. The meal started with the roasted carrot and tahini salad. The carrots were cooked to perfection with interesting contrasting flavours that made the dish bright and delicious. I followed that with the Duck 2 ways, confit d and fried in a stick. The Confit leg was easily one of the best I ve had with crispy skin and moist, melt in your mouth meat. Seriously order this dish when you re there. Lastly the dessert was a squash cake which was a perfect way to end this autumn dinner. The ice cream that topped the cake could ve been a hair fresher as this scoop started to turn crystal-ey. But I m leaving that to the timing at which we ate, which was in be late afternoon.
Overall as far as downtown/financial district restaurants go this is #1. Forget Canoe, Richmond station is where it s at in the core.
Pretty solid meal. The burger was delicious, although next time I will probably order it medium instead of medium rare. Service was great, even though someone was in training and did the basics, another server came over to break down all the dishes for us. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I believe the portion sizes on some of the dishes are a tad too small.
Quirky little restaurant with a great menu. Was with a work group and we ordered most appetizers and about half the mains across all table. All looked great and feedback was strong all around. The black code and duck duo were particularly excellent. Decent wine list as well with reasonable prices.
Love all the dishes there. Went there for Valentine but didn't get the set menu. Ordered from the regular menu. Really like their code and duvk two ways. Their duck liver pate and mushroom soup were amazing too.
SO GOOD! The beef tartar is the best I've ever had. Had heard a lot about this place and it didn't disappointed, evething was fab but dessert was amazing. Highly recommended.
