Talked to Harlan at Richmond BMW, and it was a pretty OK experience. We were greeted the moment we entered the showroom, had the opportunity to drive two vehicles, and were treated very well. Definitely would recommend anyone looking for a BMW to go here, they were a lot more friendly and helpful than I'd expected.

Nice people, sales staff, sales manager. I found the truck online. Made the agreement over the phone. Flew to Richmond and drove home. Only downside, terrible support staff, phone operator. Very difficult to get someone on the phone.
The team at Richmond BMW on Broad Street is AWESOME! I was in a tough spot needing a new car and they did everything they could to get me into the perfect vehicle for a payment I can afford. Akshay, Charles and Shashank made the experience painless and easy. They respected me and my time. I highly recommend anyone looking for a new or used car to come see them! A Plus!!!
Took my car to this facility because of check engine light. After a courtesy check, I had repairs made to supposedly resolve my problem. After paying for the repairs upon recieving my car there was a rattle coming from my motor. I returned the vehicle and was told the repairs made previously caused my engine to rattle. After returning the car again I was charged MORE money for the rattle to be fixed. Upon receiving my car a second time my airbag light was on. After talking to various people I was promised a call to perhaps fix THAT problem and havnt heard anything since. Been over a week. I'll never take my car back there again !
Always have a good experience here. Matt was a great help and very informative. Wish they had some waiting areas outside now with the virus going around.
All good. Shashank, Eva and Andrea were all top notch people. Shashank told us what plan is good and what is bad. Andrea and Eva both did great and equal. Both of them were really nice and showed all details of car. THank you to all of them for helping us buy the car. I really liked how Shashank walked us thorough the process, and I m not wrong, his leg had injury but he helped us good. Thanks a ton for everything to the whole team. the BMW Genius team is also really good.
From the moment I stepped in the dealership, the customer service was excellent. Paul fully explained everything that was going to take place, showed me the lounge area, and set me up with the shuttle so I could take care of other things while I waited. Although I initially declined additional services, I was able to reach out to Paul, and request an oil change. He told me exactly how much longer it would take on top of the recall services, and by the time I returned to the dealership my car was ready. I would say that the way the service department functions is something that other dealerships should strive for.
Waited 2 hours and 45 minutes with a scheduled appointment for an 10K mile service (oil change)
I made an appointment for the first service (10k). Arrived early for the appointment at 10:15, checked my vehicle in, and then waited for 2 hours and 45 minutes for an oil change, top off fluids and tire pressure check. In the process of asking questions to understand why it took so long. I was told "We've had a lot of drop-offs today", "An appointment doesn't guarantee we are going to get to your vehicle in at that time".
parts department people are rude and not helpful at all deal with them more then one time and it was not a good experience would not leave one star but no choice
Great experience... Tim, Service Advisor, was excellent and thought of every possible thing I might need to consider or know about. Service requested was completed in a timely manner... However, lowered the rating to 4 stars instead of 5 because to courtesy wash was less than acceptable. The back side of the mirrors were dirty and not touched... the edges of the windshield were not cleaned leaving a 2-3 inch, very noticeable ring of dirt around the window. I believe the younger car detail guys are only concerned about being done and not about the quality of the job they do.
OUTSTANDING customer service. Paul Taylor kept me informed either by text, voice mail, or email at ALL times on the status of the repairs. Especially like the closeout using email so as to cut the time down when picking up the car and still have the face-to-face time to discuss the repairs.
Anja Heyne made purchasing our new Mini Cooper Roadster one of our best purchase experiences ever! We went in to 'just look' and Anja was extremely helpful. She answered all of our (many, many, many) questions, let us go for a test drive (we did several to compare the different ones we were interested in) and gave us space to talk things over. She did not lurk, but was available and eager to help us with our questions when we needed her. When it came time to get into the details, she was incredibly patient and incredibly knowledgeable. We ended up ordering our MINI, and Anja went through every detail several times to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. She knew the ins and outs of ordering and we were able to get our custom MINI just how we wanted it. When we picked it up, she explained everything about our new car and was full of information and tips. Now, several months afterwards, Anja still is a great resource when we have a question, and she continues to check in once in awhile to make sure we are still happy - which we absolutely are! I highly recommend Anja to anyone even just thinking about a MINI. She is wonderful. We are also very happy with the dealership as well. Crown MINI service has been great - very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the New Owner's clinic they offer every several months, as this was very informative if you are new to MINI like we were. In short, we had, and continue to have, a great experience being part of the MINI family, thanks to Anja and Crown MINI.
Excellent experience. Everything handled via email as I live in Pittsburgh. Very smooth transaction. Delivered the car to me and picked up the old in 2 separate trips (old one was in need of some body repair due to hit-and-run). Delivery folks were extremely nice. Dealt directly with sales manager Akshay....great guy. Answered all my questions promptly. Couldn't ask for an easier and more pleasant purchase experience.
Excellent and efficient service on my BMW. Ready way before I expected and the van took me home when I dropped it off and picked me up later to retrieve it.
My recent car buying experience at Richmond BMW was excellent! As an out of town buyer, my salesman (William) was very patient and respectful of my limited time when I visited the dealership. He listened to my desires and played a huge part in finding the right car for me.
Brian was great! The EV mobility program really makes a difference when you have an i3 and need to travel. Thank you for the loaner, and for making it so easy.
My experience with the Service Department at Richmond BMW has been nothing short of exemplary. I have been a customer of the dealership for the last 7-8 years and the one reason I keep coming back is because of my Service Advisor, Tim Peterson. Tim customer service goes above and beyond. He makes my wife and I feel like family. He is extremely helpful, attentive to our needs/concerns and takes the time to explain issues to us in detail so we understand what s going on with our vehicles. Every time we have had our cars in for service the technicians themselves have been great to explain issues and even point out the problems. Crown Richmond BMW is lucky to have people like Tim Peterson working and representing their dealership, he is what a model employee delivering great customer service looks like. You are definitely in good hands with him, Paul and the rest of their team.
Professional, Courteous and Nice Experience. Winston, my mechanic, was very knowledgeable and skillful in correcting the issue with my vehicle. Also, Tom and Tim made sure I was informed and very accommodating to my time and needs. Thank you! Crown-BMW TEAM~GMMSA
Stopped by at 6 p.m. on a Friday night with the intention of just cruising the lot to check out options. Ended up staying 2 1/2 hours and taking home a certified pre-owned X1 SAV! Dan was awesome - kept me, the hubs, and our child fueled with refreshments throughout the purchase process since we missed dinner. I never felt pressured to buy or to change my answers.
Paul Taylor was very helpful and professional. The services were completed ahead of the expected time and they washed my car. The service here is the best!
My Service Advisor Tim was excellent as well as the parts dept. Very friendly, courtesy and professional. Highly recommend getting your vehicle service there. Thank all
I am sorry to say my experience was worse than poor on my BMW M6 (although service contact, Tim was the lone bright spot). I had an autotrain malfunction which required the replacement of two injectors under the extended warranty. Before replacing injectors, I was advised that all of the spark plugs needed to be replaced at a cost of $700. I had all of the plugs replaced six weeks prior so I said that was not the issue. After injectors were replaced, there were still two misfires. Shop foreman at Richmond BMW told me that my regular mechanic put in the wrong plugs and gave me the part number of the "correct" plugs. It turns out those were exactly the plugs my mechanic had installed six weeks prior. The autotrain malfunction fault came up before I was out of Richmond BMWs parking lot. I took back to my regular mechanic who found that two of the new plugs were fouled when the new injectors were put in. He replaced the fouled plugs (at cost of $430) which cleared the fault and the car runs great. I don't know if Richmond BMW was incompetent or trying to get additional revenue from me but I would like them to reimburse me for the $430 that I spent to fix their mistakes.
I highly recommend this dealership. I bought my car from a Crown BMW dealer in NC and they drove it here for me to pick up. Aaron was the client advisor who worked with me in setting up and learning all about the my new X5 M50i. He was outstanding - patient, knowledgeable, thorough, detailed and friendly. Since I purchased the car, I have contacted him a few times with further questions and he is always responsive and helpful. Overall an excellent experience!
The sales team here is amazing. Not pushy, not cheesy, classy and willing to extend the extra mile for their customers. My experiences were with Dan and Andre, both of which were amazing. I have been on the hunt for the right F10 M5 for a long time and was lucky enough to locate 2 in the US. Being from out of town i wanted to be sure that the car was in the condition i wanted and there was transparency into the service and records of the previous owner. Dan did an outstanding job providing me that transparency and spent time with me on the phone going line by line of service records. During this process i had a car to trade in and Dan put me in contact with my sales rep Andre who was able to accept pictures and all details via text. Once I made up my decision i was able to call and place a downpayment on the car before traveling to VA. Once i arrived (way early by mistake) they were very accommodating and made the process extraordinary painless. Very very positive experience with them. My one "complaint" would be that the detail crew did not clean the vehicle very well, and had not even vacuumed or wiped down. Not that big of deal since i am very picky about my car being clean and was going to clean it myself regardless. Thank you for everything! Love the car!!
This was my second time using Richmond BMW for service, and I am extremely satisfied. Tim was my coordinator and he did an awesome job communicating and sharing knowledge throughout the entire process. I will continue to use you guys as my "go-to" for anything BMW. :)
I just wanted to again thank you to Dell Bynum for the outstanding job he did with not only finding me my dream car but, making me feel comfortable during the entire process. From his patience, to the way he explained everything, and even his excitement for me. Thank you so much!!!! Buying a car can be so stressful but although we had some obstacles, I can say this process was stress free. Please if you are looking for a car, go to Richmond BMW!!! Thanks also to the manager that helped, the tech guy and the finance guy...you are all amazing!!!
Called and scheduled an appointment for oil change and fog lamp bulb replacement and told them that I would wait for the car to be completed. Arrived at 9:30 for the 10am appointment. Waited three hours for the service to be completed. Much too long. I think I ll try Midlothian next time. They do have a great salesman, Steve Lerner which will bring me back for my next purchase. Service no.
Steve Lerner showed me three different cars during my visit at Richmond BMW. I didn't exactly know what I wanted but he was incredibly supportive throughout the whole process and didn't once get frustrated. He is very easy to talk to and tells you like it is. I really enjoyed my experience and please ask for STEVE if you want to buy your next car from Richmond BMW.
This is the my first time that I felt to write a review of what had gone with my car. Steve Learner is a great person to work with. He is really nice guy. I had even referred some of my friends and they even bought from the store. But on the other hand, I bought my 2009/X3 in June 2013. Went for a test drive, it was WOW. But as the rainy season started I found there was a leakage from the Driver side rear door and the whole floor mat used to get wet. Also the rear windshield pump was not pumping any fluid out of it. I took it for the repair, paid the servicing cost of some $600. Thought that they fixed it. I checked the Windshield fluid pumping well and thought that everything was perfect. In a few weeks I noticed that it has stopped pumping the fluid and the mat was still wet. I was really upset to see this and stopped taking my car for the services.
Three MINIs myself and have referred three people to buy vehicles in two years. My experiences with the sales team has always been amazing, they care about you, not your money. Service department = I would rather drive to PA BMW for service. I was treated so poorly, to say the least. Charged for things I was promised in sale I wouldn't have to, rudely, no budging. Luckily Alex was around to assist me or my car would have been traded, at another dealer, that day. It only gets worse, I don't wanna waste my time typing, to be honest.
This dealership is utterly dishonest. They gave me a quote of $2200 to investigate the problem with my car in addition to $1800 for what was really wrong with it. Fortunately I did not get the work done there. I did however print the quote. I happened to go back and look at the quote the next day and it has been changed to $232 to investigate the problem in addition to the $1800 to fix what was really wrong with my car. I plan to file a formal complaint. Do not take your car to Richmond BMW...buyer beware!
As a follow up, I called the manager at the dealership/service department and left 2 messages per his message to me. Its been 3 weeks and he has not returned my call. In addition, to trying to overcharge me by 2000 to identify the problem (that does not include repairs, just a diagnostic) they also have poor customer service. I am extremely disappointed in Richmond BMW and will never purchase from them or take my car there for repairs. It's time to contact corporate. This business gets a one.. I have never scored a company a ONE.
The service team is not what one would expect from A BMW dealership. I have moved to Richmond from NH. I bought a new car from the dealership and my experience has not been pleasant with the service department. They are not even in the same league as other BMW dealerships i have dealt with.
The Service Department at this location is Deceitful and dishonest. I took my car in for a promotional oil change on Friday 6/21. After waiting at the Dealership for 1 hour and 30 mins I was told my car was ready. I paid for my oil change which included a fee for disposal of your old oil and left the dealership.. Immediately after I got home I decided to check my oil to make sure that in fact my oil was really changed.. ( Which is sad because you would think the dealership of all places are HONEST! RIGHT?.. WRONG!!!)) I ve had problems with this dealership not performing the work requested before and yet still taking the money for the service.. This time was no different.. My oil change was never done. My car had the same dirty oil as it did when I took it in. I immediately called to speak to the Service Manager Mark Dobinson thinking that he would right the wrong done by his service department.. Wrong!! Not only was he unhelpful but he seemed in on the scheme. I even sent him the pictures of my old oil and filter still in my car which he could care less.. He pretended he wanted to see for himself , however when I showed up to the appointment for him to take a look he never showed up or even came out after 45 min to acknowledge I was even there.. WARNING! If you have received work from this dealership for an alignment or an oil change or work in general recently or as long as this Service Manager has been there. Have your work checked by another dealership or a honest mechanic.. BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP!!
Steve Lerner, Senior Client Advisor at Richmond BMW, was absolutely outstanding. Every interaction with the employees at Crown BMW of Richmond was pleasant and professional. Additionally, I am hard pressed to find another vehicle brand with the build quality, reliability and teutonic engineering and styling that truly make BMWs "Ultimate Driving Machines". The experience is holistic - quality and inviting showroom, superb client advisors and staff, extremely well trained service technicians, and a general sense of caring about the customer's needs.
It was a very good experience, in general. People were attentive and courteous. A communication problem developed, but it was handled and resolved in a professional and agreeable way.
My salesperson, Steve Lerner, was personable, professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. I have acquired 4 bmw's using this sales person, The finance person, Anton, exhibited the same traits. It is a pleasure working with both of these gentlemen
Tom was my service Mgr. and was super - he followed up on the additional maint. items needed after a recall visit. Tom went above and beyond to ensure I was pleased with the service - I am!! Fred Howe
Very professional staff. Steve Lerner (sales) was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for either new or used cars.
I leased my fourth straight vehicle from Richmond BMW on 10/13 and wanted to make sure to provide a review of my experience. I have been a customer now for approximately 6 years and I am more impressed each time I deal with their sales team. I truly believe that they take pride in their level of service and customer satisfaction and they operate and carry themselves at a very high level. Each member of their team is very knowledgeable and easy to deal with and they exude a positive attitude and level of confidence that makes the experience very enjoyable. Thank you again for all of the time spent this past weekend and thanks specifically to Adam Herbert. Excellent Job!
Excellent service. Very clean and very efficient. Would not consider anywhere else for any significant BMW service. Very knowledgeable and superb communication during the entire process. Highly recommend
I drove all the way from NC to get my service done at Crown Mini! They go above and beyond and are a perfect example of what EXCELLENT service should be like. I will continue to drive here even though I do have a closer MINI. Thanks so much for taking care of my mini!
Staff was friendly and courteous but issues with vehicle were not resolved. They said they could not find issue with tire that they said they would replace when I got the car back tire pressure was low again had to go up the street and add air. Tire lost pressure on the way home very disappointed in so called diagnosis as I can feel air escaping tire when adding air. Vehicle still shaking at highway speeds. Would recommend getting your vehicle serviced elsewhere.
Anton Kulay and the whole team at Richmond BMW completely satisfied me and made me feel like they have my back on my purchase of my BMW. They are all so friendly. It was a very good car buying experience!
Lazarus and Leron Did a great job. Both are very professional, courteous, proactive and made shopping for my first BMW a success. Both are always readily available when you need something.
There were no delays with my appointment. My service advisor was very professional. He explained the process and kept me informed while I waited for my car.
Tim Peterson is my service advisor at Richmond BMW... he s awesome and he has made my experience there very pleasant. I previously owned a Mercedes S550, and now I own a 750Li M executive package. I am pleased.
My experience with Richmond BMW was great due to Le'Ron Gales. He was patient and his customer service was sincere. He is the only reason I traveled 2 hrs to purchase the BMW X1. After the purchase, Aaron was great in going over the vehicle functionalities. He was patient and very knowledgeable. Thanks Richmond BMW for employing 2 very knowledgeable and respectful people.
Went in to look at a used car to see if it was the one for me. Spoke with Jonathan and Paul in the Mini section of BMW. They were really helpful. Help me with a very old trade in and the process was outstanding. This was the 1st time going in to a car dealership that I didn't feel pressured, it was overall a great experience. Thank you guys. Josh in the financing department was wonderful he made sure that we knew what was going on every step of the way.
Service was excellent from the time we walked in just looking until we left a few hours later with a new BMW! Our sales representative, Greg, was amazing and took very good care of us!
A week an a half before my scheduled visit / Service request, I stopped by to verify an issue that I was hearing with my car. As usual, Tim Peterson is always very helpful and willing to do what he can to help. He also verified with the Service Manger that the issue did appear to be with the drivers side rear Shock. An appointment was setup and was preformed as expected with all issues resolved with my 2008 335i!
Richmond BMW service department is absolutely the best at what they do. From arrival to departure everyone is pleasant and efficient. There is a reason I drive there instead of Alexandria. Great team, thanks guys/gals.
It was time to buy my 2nd BMW and I had been looking online for months. I finally gave-in and visited Richmond BMW in person and felt truly lucky to meet salesperson, Steven Lerner. Steven is great to work with, he is very knowledgeable, he does not put any pressure on the buyer. He sincerely wants to make sure the buyer is happy and will do anything he can to deliver a great experience.
Nick, my salesperson, was knowledgeable and helpful. When I had some detailed questions (especially regarding the audio system), he either had the answer or did some swift research and got back to me. Only had the car a few days, but driving it is a delight.
Because it was a special order, delivery took some time. Nick kept me informed of the car's status with every update (manufacture started, manufacture ended, loaded on ship, arrived in port) then went full St. Nick and got it ready to be picked up Christmas Eve afternoon. Once the car was delivered, he's called back to see if I have any questions and told me to call anytime (more a factor these days with all the loaded technology). Anton in financing was equally pleasant. A much car buying better experience than anticipated!!
This was my first BMW purchase and I want to thank both Bobby and James for their Insight and patience with my choice. The entire team was very accommodating and professional from beginning to end and made this the most enjoyable and trusting car purchase experience ever. I really enjoyed working with you guys and keep up the great work.
