Horrible customer service. Obviously does not care about you. Requested a phone call through their website, heard nothing. Made an appointment and also used the "call me about my appointment feature" - nothing. Called in myself, receptionist was nice but took a message and no one from service called me. Will be going elsewhere.

I came in to the Crown BMW service department for an emergency fix to my tire as I was traveling from Md to NC. Manaya answered my call and assured me that they would take care of me when I arrived. And take care of me they did!! Paul T worked overtime to get me two new tires and back on the road. Manaya and Paul s customer service was over the top. Thank you!!

This was my 1st car buying experience at Richmond BMW, and I have to say by far the best. Will definitely be a repeat customer. Excellent customer service and the sales team is so accessible and knowledgeable. Had my 1st visit to their service department and Adam Jensen was wonderful to work with. Highly recommend this dealership.*****

Richmond BMW is a stellar dealership. This had to be the best car buying experience I have had to date. Phillip Moo was an exceptional individual who went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant, hassle-free transaction. The entire staff was caring, professional and helpful at every step of the way. An overall commitment to excellence was evident and the welcoming atmosphere of the dealership was second to none. I would recommend Richmond BMW without hesitation to anyone looking for a great car, value and an enthusiastic staff to work with. The level of integrity and professionalism exhibited by manager Matt Perry was greatly appreciated and I thank them all for a job well done. My expectations were exceeded in all areas. Thank you so much! The car is awesome!!!

UPDATE: So after this review, the GM emails me and tells me to contact him. I call and call and call and leave multiple voicemails but he refuses to return my call. I only got to speak to my sales person for him to ask me what they can do to make things right. I tell him I would like a reimbursement of what I had to come out of pocket and i have receipts to prove. He says he'll get back with me. Many days pass and he refuses to call me back nor return my calls. Then finally, I get a text telling me that I'm basically lying about the tires even if I had pictures and a receipt to prove what I paid. And I've only had the car for 2-3 months.

ORIGINAL POST: Before and after purchasing my 6 series, I was assured that the car was inspected and safe and told that they provided the best inspection. Last week, my tire is leaking and go to get it checked. Come to find out the tires are so bad that the wires are showing. The crack on the glass that they also said is safe looks like it's getting bigger. And lastly...the front senor on the passenger side was apparently loose that it was pushed in by I guess wind because the car was not damaged by any force while I owned it, which was just a few months. So now I'm out of hundreds of extra dollars to get all this fixed. Such a disappointment especially this being a very pricey car and a BMW!

I made an 11 o'clock appointment here because my top brake light was not working. I drove a hour and 15 mins to get to the BMW of Richmond and proceed to wait another hour and 20 mins. The gentleman was very nice, but told me that they didn't have the part and would have to order it, which means I wasted my day driving to Richmond and waiting a hour to find out that they couldn't fix something I presumed was a common problem. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because the gentleman that helped me was very kind.

Pay attention people! Sure they may be nice BUT these guys are over pricing cars and under pricing your trade in. Take a 2013 BMW 328i currently for sale at the Richmond BMW, the sales price is $13,991. Their website will even show you that the car is priced over KBB value. Why would a dealership do that? So honest people like yourselves walk onto their lot, see a car you want, look at the price, and go geez I don't want to pay that. Then hero of the day, the Richmond BMW sales member, can drop to price MAYBE $1000. You feel good because you "saved $1000" but in reality, you still paid TOO much for the car because it was already priced $3000-$4000 more than the average value on the car AND when you look at the trade in value (via KBB), if you turned around the second you drove that used BMW off their lot and tried to trade it back in, Richmond BMW is going to offer you LESS than KBB value. For the 2013 328i they currently (Feb 28 2019) have for sale is $7000 -$9000 dealer trade in value (KBB). They will offer you $6000 and tell you they don't use KBB, KBB doesn't sale cars, wholesale price this, the internet makes selling cars hard, etc. NOT TRUE. They care about KBB value when they are selling a car or it wouldn't be part of their marketing. They just want to see a $7000 profit. Sure, they have to make money, and it is a business, blah blah blah BUT that is $7000 of your hard earned money out the window.

I had a good idea what I wanted when I arrived and Steve Lerner helped me find it. I hate shopping and this was a pleasant experience. After I found the car I wanted financing was easy and Steve made sure I knew everything about the car. Arrived around noon and drove away later that day with the perfect yellow mini convertible for me.

Have been back twice for regular service since I purchased the car and a short workshop on the features of the car. The services department is friendly and I have been happy with the service.

The car runs great. I have never been so pleased with a vehicle.

I bought the car on line and that process went well. Completed negotiation and agreed to buy car 12/7/17. Car was to be delivered to me in Goldsboro, NC. After several Fed-ex package exchanges, completed paper work 12/13. My check cleared my bank 12/15/17. I had to call them 12/18 as I had not heard anything about delivery to me which had been agreed upon. Car arrived at my house 12/20 unannounced and had to change my schedule to accept car because had not been given courtesy of prior notification car was arriving. Although price was good, service after the sale leaves a bit to be desired.

Richmond BMW Service center personnel are consistently very attentive to my needs. I live 40 miles out of the city, so I rarely drop-off. Instead, I wait and enjoy coffee, tea or pastries while I wait. For an oil change, I am in and out in a very timely manner. I am kept up to date on status via text and one-on-one communications. Great Job Team!

When I went to Richmond BMW I confess that I was not so confident as long as I was looking for a cheap and used not BMW car . However for my big surprise Steve Lerner treated me since the beginning like I was buying the more expensive BMW model. I arrived on the store late night to see the car when almost nobody was there anymore so he couldn't find the car key to show me. Steve did not give up and kept looking everywhere until he found it. The usual would be send me home and ask to came back next day.
From that moment until when I drove my new car away, Steve was 100% professional but with the benefit of a lot of good and funny conversation all the time.
If you want to buy a car, I recommend Steve Lerner on the Richmond BWM. If you don't make business, at least you will meet a great guy! I become a big fan of BMW and of Steve Lerner as well.

My car down on my way to Richmond for the NYE weekend. I was just visiting and am not familiar with the area. The dealership provided great service and got my car fixed very quickly during what I assume is an extremely busy time for them. They also worked with my difficult warranty company and were very accommodating. Thanks for helping me out during a stressful time.

My service experience this past time was horrible....

My service experience this past time was horrible. I went in for a routine service, state inspection, and right front tire replacement (under warranty) Matt was great to work with but the fact that I had to pick up with car a week later due was unacceptable. When I came to pick up my car the first time they said it was ready, but I checked all of the tires and there was a nail sticking out of my back right tire and the cap on my front right tire was missing. Matt was quick to respond to the incident and said he d talk to his boss and take care of it but they needed to keep my car over night to fix it. The next day Matt called me. I was expecting to hear that my car was ready for pick up, instead he told me that some how while my car was there a ton of water leaked into the front drivers and passenger side of my X5 and that they were working on cleaning it up but they would need to keep it a few more days. I had to ask them why it happened and that they needed to check if any windows were left open or if there s was another problem. I have never had this problem or a leak in my car before. I am so disappointed in the service and how they took care, or actually, the lack of care of my vehicle. Finally over a week later I was called that my car was ready and when I started to drive off I went to check my tire pressure and it was all off. The right side of my car was set at 30 and the left at 40. I drove back once again to have them fix it. I have never had such a horrible experience at a dealership before. Matt was great about helping and he was very responsive but this whole experience was just ridiculous. I m hesitant to go back or even recommend going there to friends.

Drew Fletcher was just about perfect. From the time he first answered the phone, until the car arrived at my home, Drew was fast, efficient, and personable.

I live in Colorado, and Drew handled paperwork quickly, sent me a personal video of the car I wanted, and made the entire purchase happen in one afternoon despite the fact that I was over 1,000 miles away.

The sales service was impeccable.

I have dealt with the Parts Department there 5 or 6 times over the last 15 months and the service department once. I can tell you service all-around from them is on-the-mark. My service experience was exceptional, from drop off to pick up later the same day. My service advisor patiently answered a bunch of questions for me, then went above and beyond helping me track down previous service history on my BMW. The parts department is always helpful and very friendly. A top-tier dealership.

I am in the military and I have been there trying to get my connected drive fixed since April 2016. I took it in 3 times already and each time I get the workaround. No one knows how to add it to my vehicle which is a 2016 435i (American spec) with the technology package but since it was purchased in Germany and they don't offer connected drive it was never put on the vehicle. My co-worker also in the military with a similar vehicle took his to Midlothian and it was fixed the first time. I tried to email their connected drive tech 3 times (Yousaf) and he was supposed to give me a follow up call which never happened. I can understand if they were still working the issue or just don't know how to fix the problem but the fact that no one followed up is really unappreciative especially when I am on a tight schedule due to my job. This is the worst service I have ever had with BMW and it is really irritating because this is my fourth vehicle. I will not be returning here since I already wasted several months and they couldn't rectify a simple problem and are ignoring my emails.

Recently I visited this dealership to by an bmw 5 series, almost each year I switch from one car to different one, this year I decided to switch to BMW 5 series.i walked in and Spoke with Joshua, he was nice and professional.i find some damage on car it s effect the price. But the sales manager was one the unappreciated person I ever seen working in dealership. Totally bad experience with him , never will go again and trying to by car from them unless they putting some people who knows how to treat people

Update - 9/2020: Service has improved. I still think they are overpriced but that is probably the same with any dealer. Thankful they are keeping my beemer alive until I finish school!

They definitely need to work on their service. I'm pretty sure they didn't flush my brake fluid like they were supposed to because they didn't even reset the alert.

Tim worked together with us and our warranty company for some repairs on our X5. He kept us constantly updated and went the extra mile to make sure the warranty company held up their end. Car is running great! UPDATE...GAH MY OIL LIGHT JUST WENT BACK ON WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING AT THIS DEALERSHIP!

I am somewhat finicky about maintenance on my cars. Until recently, I ve preferred to do it myself as I know the level of quality that gets done. (Yeah, I have been deeply disappointed in the distant past!) I started using Crown about a year ago on two different BMWs and can enthusiastically recommend them. They not only completed the work I requested but found problems of which I was unaware. I know, usually you expect that to be a sign the dealer sees you as a cash cow...not so here. Their recommendations were spot on and the repairs were accomplished at a very reasonable price. They earned this customer s respect for being fast, friendly and honest.

I went into Richmond Crown BMW to have my truck Service, Timothy was the guy who checked me in. He gave me a 2 hr time frame and sent me a text should I need to contact him directly for anything while waiting. Tim was quick, professional, and practicing social distancing during this pandemic. Instead of my service taking 2 hrs, it was ready in 1 hr on memorial weekend. Everyone was nice and friendly, I even enjoyed the owners singing. It s my third time going there, they will see more of me in the future!!!

The worse BMW dealership I've ever been to. I've had BMW's for 10 years and LOVED them. I've also loved the service I received through dealerships in Boston and Northern, VA, especially the stuff covered under the great 50k warranty - I had some serious issues and BMW kept their promise. Well, now my love has faded since I moved back to Richmond...

This dealer's selling process is atrocious. I was looking to purchase a new X3 when I moved back but ended buying it from Alexandria because of the "no care" experience. Well, I didn't factor into the equation that the car would need service sooner or later .. In Richmond you're tied to this dealership because they own the only two in town and the next nearest one in Charlottesville. Maybe that is why they treat their customers like crap.

Well, I've got news for you Richmond BMW Having a monopoly in Richmond won't protect you. You'll soon realize that BMW enthusiasts like me will either stop buying BMW's altogether (Sorry BMW, but you've lost me until there is a better option in Richmond) or they'll start going to northern va for service as well.

For folks that are interested, here is a summary of the experience from the last three times. the 3rd did it for me
1. Old BMW... I took it in for routine maintenance. They told me I need new tires. I told them I just put on a new set less than 5K miles. The guy quickly conceded that oh yeah. i see that the tread is fine, they must've accidentally marked that in the system. It was also horrendous to get a loaner, when it wasn't available I had to push them to give me a free rental - I shouldn't have to plead.
2. New BMW... still under warranty... I took it to upgrade the maps and because the engine coolant and drive train malfunction warnings came on. Instead of calling me to say its fixed. The first thing he says is, "you have a nail in your tire and you need a new set along with a new fog light." He wanted to charge me $350/tire and tried to create a sense of urgency on the phone. There was also no real acknowledgment of the other issues i originally took it in for. I expect this behavior from other car dealers but not BMW. This is part of the reason why I buy BMW's.
3. I have been calling them to schedule an appointment (I've tried 2x), but they don't have the courtesy to talk to me properly - it's like they're doing me a favor by mildly acknowledging I am on the line. I just got off the phone with the service advisor named Scott who I was trying to explain my situation to, he interrupted me before I could finish by saying, "let me transfer you to service". I said no, I would like to ensure it can be done tomorrow and he just responded, "well then I'm transferring you to parts", snickered and transferred the call before I had a chance to explain further.

Maybe I am spoiled, but when I lived in Boston I had access to top notch dealers. Something I will miss. I'll also miss buying new BMW's which I'll never do again thanks to the great folks at Richmond BMW. Oh, I am also sending this same story to BMW USA. If enough people complain maybe we can get them to change this dealer's attitude.

We bought a Mini from this dealership a couple of months ago - we came in Pre-Approved with a loan. We asked them not to run our credit again for a loan through them - they did anyways - now we are getting charged twice and have a big mess to clean up because the wanted to run it through "their" system for the loan to get the kick backs. BIG MESS - HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

Website offers at home vehicle pickup for service. Submitted request online and received no response. Called to schedule service and was told pickup was not offered. Fix your website!

They also pawn you off to other rental car companies even after you reserve a loaner call. I assume they save the BMW loaners for those leasing or otherwise they want to impress.

...and no I don t want to call you and work something out so I remove this review.

BMW of Richmond provided me with great service while they work on my car for a recall. Tom Gemellaro who was my service contact kept me up to speed on what's going on and provided me with a loaner while my car was being serviced on. The service tech and Tom where both knowledgeable and friendly. The showroom and service area where very clean. I would bring my BMW back to Richmond BMW to have it serviced.

Not good! Simple procedure for a recall to Disconect SOS Comm Box I end up with a large gouge taken out of the leather steering wheel. Called the service rep had to leave a message. He never returned my call so call him back 7 hours later only for him to tell me his supervisor has to look at it and i need to bring it back in. Well this means i need to take off more time from work since they are over an hour away. This was not the first time they had let me down since it only took them 3 time to fix a bad oil seal on my new BMW. So Im done with them and I was changing dealerships.

I walked in and they treated me with the upmost respect. They never once tried to up sell me. Trust me I do that all the time as a server. I really appreciate all the great work they do and put you on amazing plans towards success with your new vehicle. Thank you Richmond BMW!

My sales rep was good, followed up with several choices over a period weeks and when I found a 2017 with 13k miles he acquired it for a drive and I paid 40k cash. However, I have driven it for a few weeks around town and a message comes up it needs servicing in 4600 miles . Then on my first trip out of town I am in the mountains and an overheating message comes on . I am about 100miles from a dealer in a no cell tower zone. I made it to the nearest town and added some coolant. This is my first BMW. My Mercedes went 10K miles between servicing. Makes me think this luxury sedan did not have service or fluids checked before my purchase. Not good. Now the widows and trunk are opening at night while parked. Any thoughts?

I really had very bad experience everytime I been with them. I didn't expect a continuous failed sloppy services .
1. First time when I bought this car, they registered with a wrong VIN and I was driving with it for 3months. Later on they called me and said they were correcting it and registering with correct VIN. But they didnt even bother abt it and was driving with a temporary license plate. Everytime I called them, they said they were working on it. After sometime DMV sent a notice saying my license will be suspended as I didn't havie insurance for the new VIN. I called these people again they said we were working on it. One day I went in person and found that they lost the whole registration package to the DMV. Then It took 6-8 months to correct the registration. Few times I went personally to DMV.
2. Once I had a flat tire and was in the middle of a highway, and found that they didn't keep lugnut key.
3. Once went for a service and they said would take 1 hour and I waited but it took 3 hours.
4. today morning I called them for first place finish , they asked me to bring the car, when I went there after driving 10 miles, they said they cannot do it today as everything was booked. They didn't even apologize for it.

I'm @RichmondBMW for the Spring Service Clinic. They're offering free inspections on cars, based on 4,000 invitations that were mailed out, and to entice recipients to attend they claim to be offering a chance to win 1 of 8 iPad tablets. It's a hoax! The mailer says you have to be present to win BUT once you're here they tell you that the 8 'winners' have already been chosen, based on the mailer, BUT they only get to claim prize IF they show up. So, if you have to be present to win then how is it that 8 people were already chosen as winners but they're not present and there no way of knowing if they'll show up. I spoke to the young women who's checking people's mailer to see if they've 'won' and when I asked her why it wasn't limited to the people that actually showed up she quietly whispered, "you know how these things work... If it was limited to the people that actually show up then we'd have to give out the 8 tablets.". WOW! That's so cheap! Come on Richmond BMW! That's enough to make me start driving to Midlothian BMW! Your contest is rigged, I'm betting that there's no winners at all!

Richmond BMW exudes professionalism and are the standard bearers for customer service. Eve and Akshay were more than helpful. I was on the fence about purchasing my brand new X7, but they made the process as painless as possible. They did not pressure me to make a purchase but instead walked me through the steps, taught me about the car and left the decision up to me. If you are in the market for a new or quality used car, I would recommend no place other than Richmond BMW. The staff is amazing and very helpful. This is what car buying should be.

I was an out of state buyer who had the car shipped to me. The sales staff were very nice and the process went off without a hitch. However, the car arrived with multiple obvious problems that should have been addressed before it was sold. When I contacted them about the issues, their service department provided responses that indicated they had no idea what they were talking about (I m an ASE certified master tech). Since the car is still under warranty I was told to take it to my local dealer. I will do so, but would not have to if the car had been properly prepped for sale. As many other reviewers point out, the service department at this dealer appears suspect.

My experience at Richmond BMW was the Worst! This was our third visit, sales team did not assist us or wanted our business. There for half hour, no one offered to assist us. We will never go back there to try to buy nor would we reccomend Richmond BMW to anyone. Very Poor Customer Service!

Enjoyed my transaction here and purchased a beautiful car. This is my first BMW purchase as I have only purchased Mercedes Benz throughout my past. My sales rep was William and he was very helpful and laughed a lot with me. When he came to negotiation, he seemed to be on my side and helped however he could. The business office (Anton) had a great demeanor and personality as well. I felt like I got a decent deal and didn't feel like they were trying to take full advantage. The only cons that lost a star were 1. We were there for 6 hours (far too long). 2. The car was not detailed properly upon delivery (granted we finished everything after closing but I never have driven off in a new semi dirty car so I had to pay to get it detailed the next day) 3. I didn't get any bells and whistles gifts. At Mercedes, I received a nice silver keychain after my purchases at the very least. Lol. So that was very different than what I was used to at other luxury dealers. Overall, I got the car I loved at a price I'm happy with, just no bells and whistles.

Took the E60 to get some service done. Tim was the guy that helped me out and he seemed to know his stuff. Easy to talk to and he kept me informed through out the whole repair process. I used to get my services done at Fairfax BMW (also a top notch place) but moving further south has made it a little harder to travel there. However, I found a new 'go-to' place here and I definitely recommend.

Cheers

The rating would be higher but the afterservice follow through is lacking. After seeing that the cleaning crew scratched the woodgrain on the center console 6 days ago after my BMW was serviced I notified Tim, the service person, of the problem and was assured that the part would be ordered and the scratched woodgrain would be replaced. I have yet to receive a call from the service department.

I picked up my first car here this past weekend and my experience was great. Andrea, Tim, Shashank, Matt, Jonathan, and Adam provided amazing customer service throughout the entire process. I was able to get exactly what I wanted and the process was seamless. They took the time to explain everything to me, which I really appreciated. They truly made sure that I left the lot happy and satisfied. I would definitely recommend coming here. I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

This review is for the bmw service department only. If you do have to go there, ask for Tim Peterson as your service advisor. The rest are clowns. They have managed to scrape my bumper, logged 10 extra miles on the car that was not documented (ie I got the car back with 10 extra miles not accounted for in their paperwork) and left bolts off the valve cover after finishing the work. Complete incompetence and a lack of care. Do not take your car there, but if you do, ask for Tim and check it over completely when you get it back...

This establishment is full of crooks. Im an out of state buyer who was told there were no mechanical issues with the car. Received the car and not even two days later Check engine light went on and entered limp mode. Will cost thousands to fix. Better yet they will not answer my calls how convenient. I will be contacting my law team and get these crooks to make it right whether they want to or not.STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT A GOOD CAR OR A HONEST DEAL.

I recently upgraded from a BMW X1 to an X3. While I still believe there s an opportunity to transform the new car purchasing experience, especially on luxury vehicles, my experience with Richmond BMW was pretty painless. Time is my most precious resource these days, and the BMW sales team was very respectful of it. However, most importantly, the service experience at Richmond BMW is exceptional - especially with Allen Grim, the Service Director. Allen and his team always treat me like their most important customer, and for this reason, I will continue to give and refer them business. If you re torn between Richmond BMW and another dealer, the BMW service experience should seal the deal. Thank you, Allen!

After horrible customer service experiences with the Midlothian Store, I was called by the sales manager who guided me to Broad St. to see if they could repair a damaged relationship and to see if they could get me in a car. Upon arrival, I was well greeted and found the Staff to be very friendly and courteous. My sales person as well the GM worked untiringly to get me in the best car for me and for my budget. Each staff person, in their various functions, was helpful, informative, patient and efficient. My sales person, though fairly new, exhibited exceptional product knowledge.
They even went so far as to locate the perfect car for me from another state in the region. They then followed up with congratulations via texts and emails from various departments, other salespeople gave me handshakes of congratulations as I left the store, and I received a call to see if all my issues had be resolved and if I was satisfied with my services. This was a great first experience with Broad St. BMW.....and most likely will not be my last.
