I had to downgrade this rating from 5 stars to 1. The last few visits have been terrible. The latest one in particular was horrible. My wife and I arrived on a date at 5:45pm and sat outside. We didn't get served until nearly 6:30. A different waitress finally asked if we had been served yet or not, and we told her no, and that we were about to leave. They were not busy but our server didn't seem to know anything about waiting tables or how to talk to people. The lady that let our server know we hadn't been helped yet wasn't a manager and was brand new.

So, Our server came over and said "I guess I will be your server." Great, thanks for the enthusiasm and apology for making us wait for 45 min before we could even get menus. We ordered our meal, drinks, and appetizers and he didn't write any of it down. He promply came back 3 times to verify he got it right....

After another 15 minute of waiting the waitress came over and asked if he took care of us. We told her we placed an order but hadnt gotten our drinks yet. She went and grabbed our drinks for us, and told us to ask her if we needed anything else.

We sat there for another 30 minutes before our meals came. At that point we were ready to Dine and Dash. The guy that brought them out was not our server, so we asked him for some silverware. He told our waiter we needed it and the waiter brought it in 10 minutes. Our food being cold we had let the waiter know we had received the wrong food, and his reply was "we dont have that." We let him know it was on the menu and he should have told us that the menu was incorrect when we placed the order instead of after we got our cold food. I never got my BBQ sauce I had requested. We had to ask the other waitress for the check and gave her the tip.

We timed it.... over an hour and a half to get our food which wasn't what we ordered, spent 10 minutes eating it, and waited another 20 for a check. Over 2 hours wasted.

At least the first beer was good.

I guess my biggest complaint was that the server didn't care. He just seemed clueless about what he was doing or was responsible for. The waitress has told me that he had been there for a while, to which I responded he should have been fired already.

We used to love this place, and may venture out sometime in the future but my recommendation is to stay away unless you have several hours to spend and don't mind, terrible service and cold food.

Maybe you will get lucky and the waitress that actually helped us will serve you.

The food is wonderful here and they are very nice about you gabbing away with your friends you haven't seen in awhile. The centennial peach tea and warm goat cheese salad are my favorites! Cute gift items to purchase as well. Thanks for a lovely meal as always.

A coworker took me for an afternoon tea that took me back to my love of Anne of Green Gables as a girl. Talk about one romantic tea room! I think they have one of the best Cream of Crab soups in Maryland. They also have a bar under ground with a large fire place and a gift shop!

I really enjoyed the historic atmosphere. The building was beautiful. The tea they served was absolutely delicious along with the finger sandwiches and desserts. My favorite was the mini Shepard's pie.

We went for an afternoon tea experience to Reynolds...we enjoy scones and was looking to an experience that is close to what we had in London....and wow the scones at Reynolds were delicious and the afternoon tea was perfect and so was the service offered!

Unique pub, fantastic crab dip (and we've tasted many different crab dips) and great selection of beers. We felt very welcome here. Google maps brought us to the right place but we had to walk around to the front of where the pub is located with a porch area. Great place, we will definitely return!

My boyfriend and I recently began frequenting this bar. Their outdoor patio is pleasantly hidden behind the building. Bartenders and servers are always friendly and prompt. Food and cocktails are great! The beer list always has something new and interesting.

Service was horrible during happy hour. Ordered a drink and a burger and my server never brought out my drink. On top of this, the people I was with all receive their food and I didn t get my burger. Then I paid full price for my meal! Absolute joke of an establishment. Last time I ll give this place my money.

I went here with a friend for afternoon tea. It was so fun! I tried the chocolate cinnamon tea, which was delicious. The tea came with a tower of wonderful sandwiches and sweets.
What a fun afternoon! I will definitely be back.

Consistently good food and drink selections, but the staff rotation is pretty fast. I've gone dozens of times, and only a few of the wait staff were consistent. Most of them were pretty forgetful or just slow. The outdoor patio is the place to be as eating inside can get very, very toasty in the winter with their fireplace going.

The tavern was so crowded on Sunday afternoon that we had to sit in the pub in the cellar, which is pretty dark; I needed to use the torch on my phone to read the menu. The beer and sandwich in the pub were very good, service as well. On two screens American football was shown. But I'd prefer to sit upstairs in the tavern to sitting in the dark pub.

Went for high tea and had a delightful time. The service could have been a bit more attentive (I waited a bit to get more water for my tea). But the food was quite good. I'm taking my mom when she comes to visit.

Ihave always loved Reynolds tavern and the tea and food is to die for. Everything is so nice and the waiters are amazing. I had afternoon tea. The food was delicious and they can also do vegetarian options. I had a cucumber sandwich in an egg salad sandwich with some desserts and a plain scone with raspberry jam and clotted cream. I was very very happy with what I got and I definitely be coming back. All together I was very happy and the experience was perfect I rate this place five stars and I will be coming back. This is one of many times I've been here and I'm always happy with it.

The history and ambience of this place are amazing. The beer garden was very cute and the live music was a great touch. The food and drinks were delicious. We stayed the night there and the owners were the sweetest couple. We definitely plan to visit again for some tea soon.

Poor customer service. Wouldn t take meal that was taken back to fix, then brought back poor again off the bill or discounted. We were planning on going to rams head down the street and decided to come here instead. Disappointed. Didn t have kettle and had a fan blowing cold air on our heads the whole time.

This is a tough review (only for the 1747 pub, not the tea room upfront) to write as a long time Annapolitan...zero stars. New management at the pub has ruined the service and experience at this unique spot. Rude... Go to Rams Head around the corner or Galway Bay on Maryland Ave. for gracious Annapolis service

The Pub area was a stellar choice for our office's mid-afternoon happy hour and fit 20-25 people fairly snugly but perfect for the occasion.

The cocktails on offer were inventive yet felt absolutely appropriate for the environment, which I was told George Washington might have been thrown out of once upon a time. The Smoked Old Fashioned was perfect and I heard a lot of "ooohs" and "ahs" over the Chai Spiced Old Fashioned. Everyone in the group who ordered food found it very good, including my buddy whose fish and chips might've been some of the best in his life (or was that the tartar sauce?).

Overall, there are very few more appropriate places for a nice little mid-afternoon office happy hour sesh, and the ambiance kicked that into another gear. Shout out to the bartender Danny for dealing with our sudden bombardment.

My absolute go to place when it comes to afternoon tea! (*Actually booking a reservation for tomorrow after I'm done writing this review. *)

The staff is so friendly here!
The service is also always fantastic whenever we visit, and never had to wait a long time at all for food or drinks to arrive.
The environment is absolutely stunning. We've dined in both rooms multiple times and I always enjoy taking photos of things in each room, but always seems like there's more to take photos of each visit here. :)
The food and tea never disappoints! The Cherry chocolate chip scones are so decadent and amazing, and Cupid's Arrow is my absolute favorite tea to have here.

I can't recommend Reynolds enough!

Best place in downtown Annapolis to take a date. It is quit and intimate. Prices are reasonable and menu unique.
It is also the best place to start or end a night of bar crawling. You really get the historic vibe.

Beautiful cozy atmosphere, with very attentive staff. Coupled with the delicious tea selection and superb food, it is easy to imagine you are in Colonial America or a Tavern in the English Countryside. A lovely place to have lunch or a proper Tea.

1747 used to be my favorite bar in Annapolis. Recently their beer selection and menu quality has not been quite the standard I had fondly grown to expect. The wait staff is always very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is wonderful. Especially the patio and downstairs pub. I would definitely recommend, but hope to experience the food and selection I used to love so much in the future.

The tavern was full, so I went down into the pub area. It was quaint and historic. Really felt like you went back in time. The hot apple cider was a godsend on a chilly day. The steak sandwich was very tasty through the roll got too soggy and I had to eat the steak without it. Also the ladies room needs to be refreshed. Purse hooks are a must.

Great spot with historic charm and good food and lengthy tea selections. Servers are not all well schooled on tea service. They have a lot of nice special events. Good place for a bridal/baby shower. Options for kids are limited.

I parked at Gotts parking garage and walked. Fairly easy walk. Service was good, though i found the food a bit lacking. The French onion soup was lacking soup, but tasty nonetheless. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was very fresh, but the batter was rather bland. Overall would probably return, but would get different food.

If you want to have a genuine HIGH TEA experience with the finger sandwiches, scones and pastries, COME HERE! This place is so cute and offer you the full experience and more.

Great food, great drinks and great staff! We had the burger, the crab cake sandwich and the fish and chips for dinner. We also had the baked brie and crab dip for appetizers, as well as the strawberry shortcake for dessert. I recommend trying it all. They also make a really good mojito. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Also a lot of restaurants in the area didnt do a great job with social distancing and keeping up with service during covid, but this tavern has done an awesome job adapting and accommodating. Highly recommend trying and will be returning.

P.S Follow me @a_head_in_food to see good food from all over and also straight out the kitchen.

They have their outdoor beer garden set up nicely with plenty of room between tables. They have a great beer selection. I had the burger with the 1747 fries, well worth the $2 upgrade. For $13 total, a great deal. My wife had the fried chicken BLT and was very happy. Service by RJ was outstanding.

Shepherds pie was odd. It smelled strangely of tomato, and there was a lot of cheese in the potatoes. But the atmosphere in the tavern is amazing, although it could've done with more heat, it was COLD in there.

Former space of Sly Fox...the new owners dropped the ball. First the good: the server was excellent. He was attentive, quick, and kind. The music, a female duet, performed really well. The bad: the menu. I ordered the crab cake with sweet potato fries. Crab cake was bland, had too much filler in it and they put a fried green tomato on it, didn't do anything but make it difficult (in terms of holding the sandwich together when biting into it) to eat. The sweet potato fries...okay, sweet potato fries are naturally sweet, so why in the hell are you putting sugar on them??? I didn't want a carnival fountain cake, which is how sweet the sugar made them. I tried to brush it off, but sugar on something hot melts. So I ended up ordering an order of regular fries, which were meh. I polity told the server and he was kind enough to comp the fries. The last thing is the table layout. It seems like there isn't as much seating as the Sly Fox, nor do they have high tops in front for the casual drinker to hang out at. The amount of seats may have been due to a large party, though. The Fox was a chill place that you could pop in for a few minutes or a few hours, whether it was for a drink, or food. 1747 is not for the casual pop in. They want you to sit down and spend a lot of money in one sitting, making it feel stuffy even though the patio is huge.

So service was excellent, music that night was nice, the 'vibe' was stuffy, and the food was not good.

It's too bad the owners forced the Fox brothers out of this space in order to try to steal their customers, their greed cost this town a chill, fun spot. Maybe in another 5 years, the current owners will learn how to run this place as well as the Fox brothers did, but I won't hold my breath.

My daughters and I enjoyed a lovely afternnon tea at Reynolds last week. The atmosphere is delightful, the teas were great, and the selection of savory items ( tea sandwiches and some tarts) and sweets was wonderful.

We went for high tea, pretending we were fancier than we were--it was great fun. Definitely a special occasion place because of the prices, but it's fun to get the ladies together and put your pinkies up.

Service here was, by far, the most unprofessional experience s, that I have ever had I live in DC, have worked in a couple local bars, and frequent many establishments with friends who are visiting... I thought that I would give F&H a try...again. Fail. I waited with my in-laws for more than 15mins before being thrown one menu for the four of us. 10 minutes later, we decided to get up and leave since there was no one serving us....I kindly told the bar manager who happened to come out as we were standing... Thanks we were heading out because we were waiting for more than 20 mins to put in a request for files and drink. His response didn't have any words... Just a wave of the wrist to brush us off. Not what I would expect from an out-of-date 17th Street establishment.

Attended an Afternoon Tea social event. Reservations a must if with a large group as seating was limited (at least in the room we were seated.) Tea list was fairly extensive with descriptions. Able to get just a simple pot of tea or choose from a tiered list of various edibles. Bar/restaurant list was also available. Prices were fairly moderate.

We stayed for a weekend during the Fish for a Cure Event downtown. Convenient location, great price, beautiful rooms and a very nice light breakfast. The tavern downstairs is a must visit for history buffs, and beer garden is the perfect place to end the evening... awesome!
Wes & Marilyn are fantastic hosts.
