Restaurant "La Quincaillerie" Review

Very good food, attention and location in Brussels!

I really like the setting. The food is pretty good. The noisy atmosphere is the downside.

The team is always friendly and available to answer our questions without getting upset very good food so normal price but be cooperative for the wait because the restaurant is always full!
I also recommend it for the atmosphere of the establishment

Reservation 'confirmed by phone. I go there on the day ... The restaurant was closed .... A shame! Never again in this restaurant

Setting: Great setting, probably the most positive point of the customer experience. The use of space is on the other hand abusively maximal. The tables are on top of each other, impossible to move without jostling the neighbor's chair

Home: Variable based servers. Given the mass of the table, I can understand that the staff can not take the time to be as warm as in a gourmet restaurant. We are more in a Parisian brasserie.

Product: Nothing exceptional in the kitchen, the level of a brewery. No culinary revolution.

Prices: The prices are relatively high for the level of taste quality.

Environment: The district of the American street is rather alive and eclectic in term of restoration or bar.

Amazing Oysters. The service was very slow but the food made up for the wait.

Very impressive scenery, very disappointing service and overall experience. We opted for the group menu (35 ) since we were a party of 20 people and we ended up paying 54 in total for 2 glasses of wine and some water that weren't included. I am sure that the ones around us who were ordering from the general menu they ate better (their portions were significantly larger than ours) and possibly cheaper. I think it deserves a second chance before I decide on my final opinion...

It is a place where you can go with confidence, it has places both on the ground floor and on the 2 floors, it is quite crowded so it is impossible to find no place if you do not have a reservation.

A restaurant where I like to go there. I prefer places on the floor less noisy and with more space. Very good Belgian cuisine, price a little expensive but we have the quality and then we are near Chatelain all the same.

Timeless decor, between the hardware early 20 'century and the Nautilus by Jules Verne. The welcome is charming. The service is dynamic, precise and very attentive. The hearty and tasty plate. Nice experience to repeat.

26 euro and three mussels in the pan! Disappointed!

Recommended by a friend and, while a little daunted by the reviews, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at La Quicaillerie. If you get easily annoyed at slightly longer waiting times, then this place probably isn't for you, but once you've ordered, the dishes do arrive on time. We spent three hours enjoying a three course meal. Would go there again...

The beautiful place, the food very good but the service too slow and carefree.

A classic in Brussels: this place was a real hardware store until 1988! Today, it is an excellent restaurant that keeps the same decor, we would say in a Disney movie where we travel through time!
What I liked: the quality and local products (from Belgian farms), the charming and dreamy atmosphere, the wines and champagnes selected, the varied and seasonal menu, the furniture which is a magnificent testimony of the 'Art Deco.
Small downside: the service is not up to the standards, but I would come back anyway.

La Quincaillerie is a very pleasant place which offers very good dishes. We were not disappointed.
The prices are slightly high for the dishes.

The mushroom/parmesan risotto was the best I've ever eaten. The service was fabulous. The ambience wonderful.

Great restaurant, great food. Friendly staff, big variety in wines. The only minus is that my clothes were smelling fish when I went out.

Let's not hide it, the main motivation for a visit to La Quincaillerie is the decor and the retro atmosphere. I love the huge clock at the top of the central staircase. Tables on two floors, mezzanine on both sides of the room, envelop you as you enter. The place always reminds me of a station hall or an old library. The architecture of the building is superb, all in wood and copper.
The Hardware Store has its success and its regulars! On week-end evenings, I recommend you book your table. Fish and seafood are eaten like oysters served with foie gras. There is gingerbread if you want, but I did not dare to try it. Otherwise, game and other appetite suppressants typical of the traditional brewery are on the menu.
The trio of chocolate is delicious and all desserts are offered as an option with a drink studied to accompany them: a sweet wine or a whiskey. Speaking of wines, the card is impressive. I remember getting lost in the choice. Prices have no limits but start below the 20 euros mark.
Overall, a place that is definitely worth a visit!

We were celebrating our 5th anniversary and decided to go to this place, I used to love it, but last Saturday we experienced the worst customer service ever.
We booked a table for 2 and they gave us one on the second floor, not on the main restaurant but on the adjacent room, I have the feeling we were completely forgotten , waitress never monitor those tables, so if you need extra drinks or what so ever , you need to wait until they bring your dish, otherwise they will never pass by.

One of the best brewery in Brussels ... Super nice service and exceptional food. I go back with my eyes closed.
You must taste the meat of this restaurant ...

Th service here is awful. It took 45 minutes to get a glass of water or a cocktail. Was so unimpressed. I wish I would have just eaten at the Burger King near by and then gone to some of the cool bars nearby.

Superb restaurant, atypical decor, very nice, good food, nice map, very expensive but good service, we will not do every day ...

Lovely restaurant with a great selection of sea food. We went there for a anniversary dinner and had a great experience. The service was great and quick considering the amount of people presented. Speaking of which, I didn t expect it to be packed even mid-week so I would recommend making a reservation if you plan on going here.
The only letdown was the appetiser which was nothing special but pricey. This is not a cheap place be any means and we didn t expect that but 14 (if I remember correctly) for 2 small croquettes is not really worth it. Next time we ll just skip it.
That will mean more room for the desserts which were worth the price.

Huge disappointment. A dish made of fresh fish, with an amoniaque taste and smell, a coarse tomato salad, tea without tea. With only excuse that the server was new. No proposal to replace the inedible dish, more than 23 anyway. Other than that, smiling service and beautiful place ...

It's a lovely place with great food and service. Everyone was really attentive and we were seated immediately with a reservation. Our only issue is that our mains arrived about 30 to 40 mins after the starters.

I went in with high expectations, they specialize in sea food platters and chicken which look very good and tasty but not worth the price tag.
For the price I paid I expect gastronomic dishes.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Be careful with the chicken nuggets and the shrimp nuggets not to go wrong. Otherwise a very good sea bass and good meat of very good quality accompanied by crispy homemade fries as we like them and a salad with a nice vinaigrette. Very fresh dessert to finish on a nice sweet note.
We had a great time, I recommend it for the quality of the food.

Visiting for the second time, we were disappointed by the seafood, average and poorly seasoned with cooking and a friendly but extremely long service. Disappointing. We will return a third time to see if it was an accident ..

The service is not at the price of the card: more than an hour waiting for the main course for a table of 8 (with the excuse that the restaurant is full - not acceptable), and no gesture automatic commercial. The setting and the quality of the dishes do not make up for this lack of tact.

Love the decoration, super nice atmosphere. it tends to be very very packed and you feel a bit like in Disneyland, with a lot of noise and not the best service. However, the food is really good, we tasted the "fuit de mer" platters. It is expensive but the food is really fresh and you also pay for the decoration and suburb.
I would recommand to at least test it once if you live in Brussels, if you are just a tourist, don't bother there are cheaper restaurants out there

The hardware store in Chatelain is an institution: the place is gigantic and beautiful, it's like a movie set, and the restaurant is excellent. It's a brewery a little upscale so the prices go with it, but we are not disappointed and the dishes are hearty, ditto for desserts. The staff is very professional and remains pleasant despite the world.
The dishes offered are seafood or traditional dishes, including Belgian specialties, cooked to perfection. Coming with family, we were all 3 conquered by our respective dishes.
