Very nice brasserie on several floors in a very trendy district near the Place du Chatelain / 1050 Brussels. Original setting: old hardware store. Very nice and varied menu: fish, meat, shellfish. ... Nice wine list. Good desserts. Very neat. Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices. One must reserve. Sometimes very noisy.
Went there for my birthday and was utterly disappointed. There was a very long wait until we got our food even though we had reserved our table and we were only two. We took the lobster to begin with, which was good, but small. So were the glasses of champagne. I took the sole as a main dish, but it was undercooked - couldn t eat it. The service was kind and polite (the reason for 2 stars rather than one, which I was tempted to give), but they are clearly overwhelmed by the affluence of people.
Beef meat of very poor quality !! Can do better for the price !!
The place look lovely with different sections for various groups and get-together hang out for dinners. The food was lovely although the steak was a bit small but nice.
The pork was huge that my friends couldn't finish theirs so as a glutton, I had to complete the rest Where I come from we don't waste a food that taste so nice and lovely.
The staff that served us was nice and understands English language so it wasn't difficult for us to communicate .
Kudos to everyone that made sure that we got our food on time and the reservation.
Good food, freat atmosphere, but be prepared to have a loooong meal on the weekends as the service is quite slow and the place is packed
Attractive for its 'lunch business lunch', but slow service, often lukewarm dish, 'good quality of the goods', but cold meat. . . .
Too confusing, not for lovers ;-)
A famous place in Brussels. Worthwhile discovering
"This brewery-scaling is a must. Housed in an old hardware store (1903), its Art Nouveau decor alone deserves a visit. A decor of choice, between authentic dressers and wall shelves, to enjoy a delicious version of the classics of the French-Belgian cuisine. "(The Michelin Inspectors)
beautiful area!! the map is very interesting and varied, maybe a little expensive but very good
Excellent seafood platter, pleasant setting, quality service
Very good food, very tight spots, but very fast and adequate service. Nice appearance, great atmosphere and continuous long line at the door, reservation pays.
Excellent fresh Food, amazing combinations, wonderful ambiente, and a adorable concierge Johan
Excellent choise, specifically for seafood, lobster and oysters. Quite impressive interior atmosphere and particularly good desert as well. Absolutely recommended!
Extra frame! Typical dishes, friendly service ... price a little expensive but worth it. The flaking is sensas.
Service is excellent as well as the food, highly recommended!!
Way to pricy for a normal food experience. Nothing extraordinary served, no surprises. Somehow arrogant. Stars are for the interior design only.
Friday, April 10 with a group of 20 people excellent table. The reservation for a large group was no problem at all and the follow-up of the reservation was fine.
The lunch (starter / main or main / dessert) has an excellent price / quality ratio. The service was smooth, correct and with a smile. Everyone was extremely satisfied.
The frame is also beautiful.
Highly recommended.
Super restaurant delicious dishes impeccable and smiling service the best ....
A place full of charm and the platters of seafood are divine.
An emblematic decor, a courteous and efficient service, an original menu with real "homemade" products and a quality-price lunch UNBEATABLE!
We eat well with fish, prices a little higher than ours, especially the wines
Very nice place, great selection of oysters. Very good chicken dishes. Very nice atmosphere. One of the better places I visited recently.
Everything was excellent, from the service to the dishes!
A fabulous restaurant in an old ironmongers shop. Tables on the upper floors are arranged around narrow balconies, so there's not a lot of space but the atmosphere is great.
The staff were pleasant and helpful and our food was delicious. Unusually for somewhere like this the portions were actually pretty big.
Definitely worth making a reservation.
French cuisine restaurant, first-class bar grilled with creamy lobster, and the supporting mashed potato on the side is delicious because the lobster sauce is mixed together. , Full of fragrance in the mouth, delicious! Next up is dessert, Belgian chocolate mousse! Sweet but not greasy, the scent of cocoa reminds you of Elephant Brand Chocolate ~ praise ~ bought with a gift? Not yet come to eat ~ business hours until 11:00, the restaurant is open late in Europe, we dine until 12:40, no time to hurry, the atmosphere and location are very comfortable ~ worth visiting
During my last visit I found that the value for money is not what it was and the service leaves a little to be desired.
Beautiful place. Deserves a 4 stars but service to improve. A must see. Varied choice. Excellent value. Shrimp croquettes to improve (heat, volume), sole (beautiful), red meat (famous), wine list (very good) but table service to improve (respect the rules of how to live ... the ladies first. ..the young at the end.) A lady's toilet does not close anymore!
Amazing sea food and friendly service! We ve got a huge plate!
Very welcoming, pleasant and authentic place. The meals were delicious, despite a little disappointment: we ordered chicken skewers and some pieces were a little raw. Nevertheless, we loved the place! The service was impeccable, fast and the staff very welcoming!
A shame
A minimalist entry is A chicken kibble the size of a small egg and a pork square from which I managed to release 30 gr of meat the rest was bone and fat accompanied by a minced carrot all for the modest sum of 45 or 9 the bite
In compensation I am offered the cheese ..... 3 mini pieces of cheese of uncertain age
I have never eaten so bad without counting the deplorable service
A word of greeting
The food was too expensive and not even worth the price.
Can't miss when in Brussels. The steak is great and the seafood even more tempting. Try the steak tartar.
Definitely a place to discover in Ixelles, both for cooking and decoration. On the plate you will have the choice between meat and fish, all cooked to the Belgian. The old style brasserie setting is simply outstanding. However if you want to avoid noise I recommend the mezzanine. Only flat, a bit expensive, but it's like everywhere the quality is paid.
Standard not matched with the 2 other eateries in Antwerpen and Ghent.
Missing attention - fill up your own glass of wine and you pay a few bucks when visiting.
I used to go to this restaurant everytime I went to Brussels, with friends.I went there on march 27 and got very disappointed. There were many less clients, and I could see why: i ordered chicken croquettes, and got croquettes filled with lefovers of chicken liver. After spitting out the hard nerves etc several tiems i gave up on it. Main dish, fish of the day. Overcooked and with no taste.
Never again.quality has gone down enormously but the prices remain the same. 60 euros two people, lunch of the day
From family & friends dinners to business lunches, this beautiful restaurant has always been top notch. It s beautiful atmosphere together with a brilliant menu, make the perfect combination to a remarkable experience. Food is delicious and their winery is out of this world. Try the seafood - oysters are a must here - and also the best desserts. If you are in Brussels and love a genuine food experience, La Quincallerie is not to be missed.
To do and redo. The place is magnificent, full of history, the super friendly and welcoming staff and the dishes very good.
Everything about this restaurant is great. The food is amazing, the drinks are really good, the decor is very unique, and the atmosphere is beautiful.
We had a special table in a chamber, on the upper floor right behind the clock. The service was amazing. Thank you, La Quincaillerie was an amazing experience.
It's a little our canteen when you do not want to look for a restaurant at noon. There is always something good in the lunch formula ... The price has unfortunately risen a lot for 3 years, but it remains acceptable because we always eat very well. One thing does not change is the service: just one of the best I've seen. Smile, politeness, efficiency and especially exceptional speed. If you are in a hurry for lunch, or for a business lunch that should not drag on, this is the perfect place. In addition oysters are excellent. A good address that can always help!
I love this restaurant, not least because of its authentic decor (an old hardware shop) but also because of the high-quality and seasonal food on the menu. It is indeed on the expensive side, but a good place if you re looking for a fancier dinner experience on a special occasion. The staff is very professional, attentive and might even offer you a free drink degustation at the end of your meal.
Most brilliant seafood Restaurant in Brussels... Lobster, oysters and codfish best in town. Visit also the wine cellar. Recomondation chablis premiere cru to oysters - you will love it
Warm and pleasant place. The service is efficient but slow once the room is full. The dishes are good and quality but a price / quality ratio rather expensive; example: 2 small shrimp croquettes for 17 , 28 for a cod dish with a very / too small piece of cod, 12 for a white lady. In short, it's good but expensive for what it is.
I visited this place for a business dinner organized from a local company. The food was good, served on time. The quality of the service was as well good and the price fair.
Better than before. The pleasant service and the kitchen has regained its luster.
Former drugstore / hardware store. With the presence of the furniture of the old activity and about 4 floors visible from the room on the ground floor, an excellent restaurant service is developed today.
Average price from 50 to 60 euros.
Good job.
Top for seafood! Diligent, friendly and very attentive service. A very good experience
Very nice interior, reminds me of T Pakhuis in Ghent (industrial meets art). Good food, very correct service and affordable! Worth repeating...
Please watch out with the managment of this place. They are thieves, and not friendly at all. They charge you much more and you dont get anything for the price.
Reservation for 36 people, 6 could not make it but they forced us to pay for the total of 36.
The place is nice but that is everything.
Dont spend you money with them!!!!!
Great food, cool vibes in the room and good service. However, not such great value for money ( 170 for three of us, and all we had was a starter and a main, no oysters or expensive platters, plus a drop of wine) and in there it's a tight squeeze, with people sitting elbow to elbow.
Still a very nice and cosy place. We enjoyed the warm and bistro type of ambiance. I know that we have to evolve but I miss the old menu.
10 of 10
For seafood lovers, you should definitely stop by the Hardware Store
An attic place for its original decor.
As for the seafood platters ... a delight
Beautiful presentation, freshness and impeccable service.
Nice wine list to accompany your dishes
The Hardware store I recommend
Delicious, well provided dish, pleasant staff. Everything to spend a beautiful evening
As usual .... I love and lemon pie always different .... Thank you to all the team
Beautiful place, nice food, but it gets overcrowded easily and the service, though nice, struggles to serve properly. Pricey.
Nice restaurant in an old shop maintaining all the antique furniture. Good food.
Very nice place with a cachet (hardware rehabilitated in restaurant), very good quality on the plates, impeccable service, only downside, the addition salty compared to the primary vocation of the place: a brasserie! For oyster lovers, I recommend the refined oysters, a real treat!
It is a good restaurant held in high regard in one of the most "in" areas of the city, eat well (especially fish), the service is good but in a total judgment I would not give more than three stars because it is noisy, the tables are small , close together and without a tablecloth.
Conclusion: good but widely overrated.
Very good and well served, although towards the end the service was slow for dessert,
Great place, with a very beautiful interior architecture! 20 at tables and everyone came out delighted with their choice. For my par, we fell in love with the wine. 5 Finques 2014
It is a former hardware store. The decor, old, is beautiful and warm. The interior space has been cleverly arranged (there are tables on the floor). Possibility of eating on the terrace. The staff are welcoming and smiling ... but not always attentive and do not always control their subject. Beautiful card of wine, meat and fish. They specialize in seafood platters (one of the top 3 in Brussels). Book a few days before as they are usually full. The ingredients are quality but the presentation is not always level. Prices are overrated (see Tiquet de caisse). A tip: book via the The Fork app and you receive a 30% discount on dishes
Beautiful, even amazing art nouveau venue! Service was good and food was good too. Good experience
Great Food, Nice ambience, perfectly cozy for winter lunches & dinners. Love their oyster plat! Awesome seafood spread.
Tasty midday lunch at a very reasonable price, very positive price / quality ratio
Portions were very generous, service OK, but it was the interiors that was the most interesting. Side vegetables seemed like from a frozen pack.
The shank! The hock what the devil
A must
Frame of rare beauty, charming staff and delicious meals!
Original setting, surprising and well highlighted, that of an authentic hardware store from the early 1900s.
High quality products with surprising associations on the plate.
Home a little cold but this
restaurant still deserves a detour.
Lovely place with lots of character, very good food, nice atmosphere and friendly attentive staff..
The interior is amazing, very beautiful place. Service is very thoughtful and friendly. Food is really good, but not something I would come back for this price. We had salmon toast, Ricotta ravioli in cheese sauce, fried fish with fries and lemon tart, drinking just sparkling water. Total was around 75 for 2 people.
Very good service (I had a problem that was quickly settled and apologized) and quite fast mm when there are people we do not wait 1:30 to receive our dishes as ds other restaurants
Remarkable setting. Very warm atmosphere. Quality dish. Recommended for seafood lovers.
Horrible experience. Place to definitely avoid. The food quality is so poor.... it is uneatable. I have shared my concerns with the waiter... he told me that it does not bring much to share it with manger as many people before me complained about this and nothing changed. They did not even apologized. Moreover, they are way more expensive than other restaurants with excellent Belgium food.
Very good food. Waiter was unfortunately unnecessarily arrogant.
