Bimini is beautiful. For anyone in Miami you have the option of taking a ferryboat and spending the day on the island. When you are disembarking there is the option of renting golf carts to walk freely around the island, which is quite indicative. You walk both in the resort and in the native part. On one side of the island you can find a shipwreck.

It's SO beautiful to look at, however, it has its share of problems. We were there in late July and the main pool attached to the hotel was closed. It was full on green. They really need to hire someone who can manage to keep a pool that hot and crowded, clear. No easy task. The only pool on site was the rooftop one and there is NO shade available up there so it's unbearably hot unless you are in the pool. Forget lounging poolside. Additionally, we had a room where the lock didn't work, and after 5 or 6 attempts to rekey, and changing the battery on our lock, we were given a new room. The downside is that we had to move all our stuff that we had unpacked. The new room did not have a shower door, so water went EVERYWHERE when anyone took a shower. That being the case we were never given additional towels even though 2 of the 4 that were in the room had to be used as floor covering in the bathroom. But the hotel is gorgeous and modern and the AC was cold so we slept well. Even when the power went out after a terrible thunderstorm, AC seemed to keep going, at least in common areas, and the power was back up within an hour. Worth a try because Bimini is a fun place to visit.

Beach was filthy (liquor bottles all over, trash everywhere), the customer service was atrocious. Both of the men who were ushering people on and off the tram could not have been less pleasant if they tried. They were rude and dismissive which caused our group of nine to be separated. It took us over an hour to finally meet back up. Wasted time due to awful customer service.

Mama Mia. I want to come back sooner than I can. A paradise on Earth. Clear water, fresh air, very welcoming locals, no traffic because we got adventurous golf cart for a ride. Super vacation. Simple and cozy. All I had to do is rest. Feel well rested!!!

The resort is generally pretty good. Importantly, must be assessed within the Bimini environment which in general lacks services. Other than king brown's grocery there aren't many places where to get fresh food and cook -if you stay at the Vilas like we always do- so the resort and its services become essential.
Pools (3), restaurants (3) are very good. The water in the pools is really, really cold which makes them less enjoyable in winter months. Security is great and the whole place feels safe at all times.

After years of visiting we are now seeing some disturbing trends. The resort is heavily promoting day trips from Miami so every day hundreds of day tourists visit the island only to leave in the afternoon. In such a small place this makes a difference and crowds and issues are part of the scene. Understandably, customer service has been impacted and it is not unusual to see loud people at the front desk.

A nice and still quite place to spend a week or so in awesome beaches.

Very upscale feeling within the resort, which we loved with the added privacy of having your own luxury villa. It felts like our very own secluded oasis with just about everything we needed, available at the resort. My wife loved the spa and there were plenty of restaurant choices. So close to get to from Miami, we will definitely be back!

this place ruined the island.. water quality is consistently going down. its attracting the wrong crowds and lots of drug use. this island used to be a secluded fisherman's paradise now its a spot for under aged girls to go clubbing. this tiny island is unable to sustain the amount of pressure the resort is putting on its natural resources and beauty. the amount of trash this place puts out is ungodly and they dump it all on South Bimini which is getting smoked out by the trash burning happening more frequently. we do our best to stay off the north side of the island and find the resort repulsive. they destroyed a huge portion of a reef just so they could park a cruise ship outside the island for a couple months. the project failed and thousands of years of reef growth were destroyed just to pump the sand to the bay-side of the island to create more million dollar homes.. please do your selves a favor and visit support the smaller establishments on the island, go out and spend money at Bahamian owned bars and stores.

Resort is not ready to be opened . Does not seem like much renovation was done. All restaursnts were closed ex rot main dining room and Smokey bar food in casino . Not like advertised. Pool heaters were broken , hot tubs were broken , executive lounge was closed , perk for diamond members . Showers had no pressure, water not hot , ants in our room . The grounds were not upgraded like promised . We booked 2 rooms and they only credited our points for one room . Do not book st this hotel at this time.

Pros: for the most part, friendly staff. The hotel looks nice. It was clean. Location is great.

Cons: the water stopped working MID-SHOWER!!!!! It took about 30 minutes with shampoo in my hair for the water to come back (I know this sounds like a movie). The door sensor the for air conditioning is extremely sensitive. We closed and locked the door and the air didn t turn back on. We tried to force the doors even closer together - nothing. Finally, my husband open and SLAMMED the doors closed!!! After 45
minutes it came back. All this time, waiting for the engineering team to come to see the issue.

Now, still at the hotel I can confirm it s been almost two hours and no water. Thank goodness we had water bottles to brush our teeth. FYI - we called the front desk three times and no answer.

Nice place. The ground level iconic infinity pool that you may have seen from a bunch of photshoots is now closed to the public unless you live on the island. So that really sucks since its the best pool on the island but other than that its a quite nice. Make sure you plan to rent a golf cart when youre visiting here, it can be a bit expensive but its extremely necessary if you want to get around the island. When its fully operational this place is really nice, however since the hurricane one of the three pools (the ground level one that goes around the hotel) was closed and the hot tubs on the roof were empty / broken and the pool was extremely cold, spent about five minutes in it. Food around the island is kind of scarce, ESPECIALLY if you dont have a golf cart. But if you go to the Bahamas your main focus should be the beaches and they have a lot of nice ones around the island. I really enjoyed my time here despite all the negatives. Just call in advance to see whats working and whats not.
