Had a horrible experience with autonation of renton. I went in to buy a 2018 Honda fit sport, I told them that I would prefer the color black if they had any available. They said that there was one over at their sister store in Spokane and can get it shipped here within 4-7 days. It was not that long of a wait so I agreed. I bought the car July 18th. A week goes by without an update so I call them and they said it will be a few more days. A few more days go by and the car finally arrives and tell me to come pick it up. I head over to get the car then they notify me that they were having issues with the paint and it'll take about a week to two weeks to fix it. Okay, so I wait. Every time I called in for an update about my car they would always say, "Oh it'll be here next week". A month passes by with no sign of my car. I speak to a different manager and says my car won't be ready until the 28th of August. I decided to void the contract since I never took ownership of the car and even that was chaotic. Managers were always unavailable or out of office and when I finally got my down payment back, I went to the bank to deposit the check and they had to call the store to make sure everything was legitimate. And the bank says the check can't go through yet because no one is in office to verify the check. Would not recommend autonation renton at all

My wife and I were looking for a Honda Odyssey to replace one that had been totaled in an accident. I found one online through AutoNation Honda of Renton's website that looked perfect. I went to the dealership to take a look at the vehicle. The salesperson was courteous, and he showed me the car which was in pristine condition. I test drove it, and it drove perfectly. So, I told the salesperson that I wanted to buy it. The salesperson said great, and we began filling out the paperwork to purchase the car. My wife and I were thrilled. As we were working out payment, and I was getting approvals through my bank, my salesperson assured me that everything was good. There was a small disagreement when the salesperson tried to convince me that I should also be paying $1,000 more on the purchase price to cover some extra work that they had done on the car. I said no, because that was not the price that we had agreed to. The salesperson said ok, and we continued on with the paperwork. Then after about an hour, everything was quiet. And then the salesperson came by and dropped the bomb. Apparently, the Dealership had already "committed" to selling the vehicle to someone else earlier in the evening. Now, that other person had not paid for the vehicle, and they also had not picked it up. However, that person said they would come by the next morning to pay for it and pick it up. My wife and I were completely stunned. At that point, after profuse apologies from the salesperson, my wife and I left the dealership very disappointed. I have never ever had this type of experience when buying a car. I can only assume that the other buyer had offered to pay $1,000 more for the vehicle, and the dealership decided that that was the better offer for them. Based on my experience, I will not be coming back to this dealership to purchase a car in the future. I saw the response from the owner (below), and I called to discuss my experience with the General Manager. However, there is no option on the phone tree to reach the General Manager and there is no way to reach the Operator to have my call forwarded to the General Manager. The Sales Department has my contact information, and the General Manager is welcome to call me if they truly want to make things right.

My family had a good time in the shop for half day...

My family had a good time in the shop for half day. I emailed salesperson and got a quote offered by the GM. What he said impressed me. Before my family stopped by the shop last Sunday at 12:00 p.m, I did homework to look for a new car, such as the auto model, must-have features, key numbers(inventory checking, incentives, bottom line budget and so on), negotiation tricks and so forth. I made effort to close the deal with the team of the shop including salesperson, GM and finance staff. They are so nice and patient. I did appreciate of their support. Thanks all of you so much!!!

Everyone here at this dealership is really friendly and welcoming but one stood out in particular and his name is James Salinas. I wasn't planning on buying a car that day but he gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. He's a great salesman and overall a great person that deserves to be acknowledged. We traveled 250 miles to purchase a Honda Accord EX-L. We communicated via email and were happily welcomed when we arrived. Best car buying experience ever!! Ossman Jibril did an awesome job in introducing us to our very first ever Honda. He was very thorough when going over the features of the vehicle. We are very happy with our purchase and don't regret our decision to choose AutoNation Honda. We recommend to all our friends with their next vehicle purchase.

Best car buying experience ever !

I've been buying/leasing new cars for myself and my relatives/friends several times already and every time it was a pretty long and annoying process. Every time all dealers wanted me to come in before even starting to discuss any numbers or anything, which really bugged me a lot. Before dealing with Renton Honda I visited few other Honda/Toyota/Mazda dealers, plus I just bought brand new Mazda for my wife in November 2013, so I have something to compare with.

These are the things I found very appealing to meat Renton Honda, that none of other dealers have:
1. Their prices are the lowest across all Honda dealers in WA. And I really did my extensive research prior to that.
2. I was able to discuss prices/models/features/etc with their internet sales person (Thomas) which I never was able to do before. Plus he helped me to find cash incentive that brought the price of my car even lower.
3. There were absolutely no hidden costs or additions that were not discussed prior to coming to the dealership.
4. Their sales floor sales guy (Nhat) was really nice and helpful
5. Sales manager was able to work with me on the price of additional features that were on the car, unlike managers at other dealerships who was saying only "that's the best I can do", when I knew they could do better (they just didn't want to).
6. The whole process was faster than I could even imagine. I came in around 3 and left with my new car around 5:30. Just get in and get it done.

So, as a result I got:
1. Brand new car at amazing price that no other dealer could even get close to
2. Fastest process time in my history of buying cars from dealers
3. Best service that a dealer could ever provide
4. Absolutely no hassle from the moment I sent email to dealership, till the moment I took off in my new car

Experiences like that make me want to recommend these guys to my friends and it's no brainer that I'll be coming back there next time I'll be buying a car for myself or relatives.

I purchased a Honda Odyssey from AutoNations Honda of Renton and had my best car shopping experience ever here. My salesperson Matt is very friendly, patient and does care customer a lot. I've been to couple of dealers recently, Matt really sets a bar high for great car salespersons, and made AutoNations Honda of Renton stand out of other dealers. Salesperson Alvin (Mutian) also helped me a lot and it was a great experience to work with him as well. I would highly recommend AutoNations Honda of Renton for the people who is looking for the best price as well as the best service!

I brought my car in for The engine feels like it has low power intermittently during acceleration, which may be more noticeable in hot
weather.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The PGM-FI software misinterprets sensor inputs and retards the ignition timing.
Honda Advisor said I need doing tune-up that I already done at 120,000 miles from Pep-Boys, the transmission is clear they said it is dark, the Spark plug brand new been replace by PepBoys but Honda want me to replace again. That mean the honda tech did not do what I came there for and charged me for $135 and advice me to do the tune-up instead, I refuse to do it and I did not have the shuttle pick me up they said I need to take the Uber. It is sad, is that mean if I done the tune up and paid them $2100 as the quote said I will get the shuttle to bring my back from my work to the Honda shop? they drop me off at work without problem. My brother is a Mechanic for 35 years and reason I brought down to honda because the Software need to update by Honda. my car now is 140, 000 miles.

As usual, AutoNation Honda is a wonderful business to purchase a car or to have it serviced here. Employees are personable and professional. I enjoy the amenities offered while waiting to have my car serviced. The waiting area is clean and comfortable!
Kudos to Bill Ackerman and to Michael Stokes, who sadly is no longer a Service Advisor here! I ve known both since I purchased my Passport 15 years ago.

Arrived a little early which didn t turn out to be a problem. Tim was very helpful and nice. Explained everything in detail and the waiting area was large, comfortable and very clean. Prompt service for such a busy place.

Had to take in my 2017 Honda CRV for the recall on the gear shift button. The service was very prompt and welcoming. The service was great and done in a timely manner while I waited. I was particularly happy that my driver side floor board was vacuumed with the car wash! I have never had a less than a stress free experience at Auto Nation of Honda. I still give them five Stars! 2/13/2020

I've never bought a brand new car before because I didn't want to go through the whole negotiation dance associated with a new car purchase. Going through the Costco program, I felt that I would get a fair deal, which I did. But more than that, I received excellent service from Thomas as well as the finance dept. I was treated with respect and patience. Overall, this was a painless car buying experience.

I can't think of a single thing I am dissatisfied with as far as my experience at the AutoNation Honda Renton service department. Everyone was professional and the service specialist has never invented bogus service requirements as has happened to me at Burien Honda before I switch to Renton Honda. I've learned to always get a second opinion when a service technician says you require work beyond a simple oil change. This place has a good record with me.

AutoNation purchased my car with very little hassle and was able to sell it for a competitive private seller price, rather than dealer trade in price. Way better than dealing with lowballers on Craigslist. Would definitely recommend. Fast and helpful.

Although the location is convenient for me to get to, the service has been anything but convenient.

I received a recall notification and scheduled an appointment to take my car in. When I got there they advised me that they don't have the parts needed but just wanted to check on my car. This is a complete waste of my time. It took me several months to make another appointment after having received additional recall notices.

This time they made sure that they have the parts in stock to service the recalled parts for my car. The other complaint is the wait time from walk in to completion. There were times when I waited over 2 hours. It's just frustrating.

Then at the end of the service, it's great that they not only inform you that your car is ready but they also washed your car for you. However, the car wash is never clean. My recent visit, my whole back windshield didn't get washed at all. Hmmm.

One highlight is that the folks there are friendly and always very apologic for the wait time.

Large dealership where you feel free. Comfortable chairs and tables, a selection of hot drinks. great atmosphere for the selection and decision-making. It was a pleasure to work with Ossman Jibril, he showed courtesy and professionalism, we got excellent value for money and it does not have the feeling that your decision to push and hurry.

Great experience at AutoNation! We went in with my 2013 Civic to see what they could offer as my lease was coming due. They were able to get me into a new 2016 Civic for even less, which was amazing. Michael was knowledgeable and efficient, no pressure at all. Dealership is very clean and inviting, everyone is friendly. We highly recommend them!

Me and my wife have decided to purchase a new car at Honda(Renton). We just got married and we are expecting our first baby next year. we are still starting to build our family and buying a car is one of the biggest purchases that we made for our new family. Big John was recommended by our church friends and when we met him at the dealership, we just felt very at ease and we felt that we are part of his family. he was very accomodating and very friendly. it feels like we are not pressured to purchase a car, he was so transparent to us, very honest and very professional. he worked so hard along with brian to give us the car that fits our budget and fits our new family. thanks big john and brian! thanks honda for helping us start our new family!! may God continue to bless your company! we will come back to purchase our cars in the future and refer people to your dealership!thanks again!!!:)

I usually do not like taking my car here because it seems like I'm always waiting in line....for long periods of time....to drop my car off and pick my car up. This time was so efficient and so quick. I arrived Thursday evening to drop my car off, no waiting for a rep to help me. When I picked it up on Saturday afternoon, again, no waiting, the rep was available, had all the documents for me, and got me out of there in no time. Kevin helped me and he was the best!

Beware! Never buy anything from them or fix any me...

Beware! Never buy anything from them or fix any mechanical issues ,their staff is very unprofessional. I bought a car and added Vehicle Care Program from them (the worst decision ever) ,which included oil change,tire rotation and change air filter. The first problem happened after regular oil change I had huge motor oil leakage on the next day. They fixed it and said the reason was O-Ring on oil filter, that they were supposed to change during oil change. I waisted my entire day because of their mistake. They even didn t apologize. In four months I came back to change oil again (I prepaid for their services) and guess what happened? Huge motor leakage after I came back home. So the next day I was again in their service and they denied their fault even if it was obvious. After talking with management I figured out more than one year I had leakages from 4 places and somehow they didn t put all this information in my inspection list(they always marked it green, so basically they lied). I was driving and damaging my car whole year thinking that everything was alright. By the way, the Manager was extremely rude, he even tried to convince me that driving without motor oil doesn t damage my car. Isn t fun? yeah ,and one of the reasons of leakages was again oil filter o-ring. I fixed all my leakages in different auto repair shop. My new mechanic confirmed the leakage was caused by o-ring on oil filter and told me that o-ring was really old ,so that s why I had motor leakages. He said it was not changed probably for 2 years. ( I was changing my oil for 3 years in the same place ). Autonation basically neglected my car for my money. DO NOT EVER BUY ANY MECHANICAL SERVICES FROM THIS PLACE. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. THEIR MECHANICS MESSED UP EVEN WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGE.

Overall a very satisfying and stress-free car buying experience. The sales associate, Emmanuel, provided no-pressure assistance and advice, taking the time to understand what I was looking for and not trying to "up-sell" me something else. Percia, who handled the financial part, was very informative and helpful as well. All of the staff were very friendly and non-intimidating. Very much appreciate their being open late as well. I would highly recommend them to anybody who wants a low-stress car buying experience!

Service center employees were very courteous and k...

Service center employees were very courteous and knowledgeable, and the facilities are great; free coffee and comfortable waiting area. However, service speed is a bit slow (oil changes alone usually take well over an hour), and services are a bit on the expensive side.

Edit: After another recent service, I couldn't have more praise for the service center staff and facilities... But a few other issues certainly prompted a lower review:

This probably isn't a recent change, but they no longer offer a courtesy vehicle for major service. They contract out with a local Enterprise rental facility, but the whole ordeal of waiting for a shuttle to and from, and having to do all the usual rental paperwork in addition to the service is inconvenient at best.

Also, I'd you're scheduling a service online, there's a large (~30% for me) discrepancy between estimated and actual service cost. A service I was expecting to be under $400 ended up being almost $600 out the door even AFTER my service contract covered the oil/filter change at no cost. Seems like some prices need updating in the system.

Still recommend, but could improve.

This place was great at first - helping me get my new vehicle. However they upsold me on a vehicle protection program and told me I could get refunded for the amounts I did not use.

I sold my car a year after and told them to provide the refund. Its been 7 MONTHS and after speaking to about 4 people, going to the office about 5 times. FYI I am still waiting as of writing this email.

If you want unfulfilled promises packaged in a shiny box this is the place for you.

Wanted to add that the finance manager or department head has really high turnover and goes to show how badly run it is.

This review is for the sales department; I brought my Honda in for some repairs last week and was completely transparent with the service department about the fact that I did not want to invest a lot of money in repairing my car (it's a hybrid and the cost to replace the battery is more than the car is worth). Kudos to Bill Shipley who was very honest about the repairs that would be needed, and when I asked if there was any resale value he said he'd have a salesperson call me back. I spoke with Tenzing Dhakhwa twice that day and he appraised the car and said they could offer me $200 for it and sent me a trade certificate, we emailed several times and made an appointment to bring the car in. The day of our appointment I am told by a different sales manager that they cannot offer me anything for the car, that the $200 was contingent on trading the car in for another car. At no point was this ever communicated, and I was absolutely clear from the start that I was not looking to buy a car at this time (my husband just died and I am keeping his car). Look, I understand that they need to make money and that they decided this car wouldn't make them a lot of money; what infuriates me is that they were deceptive and wasted my time (I took time off work to complete this transaction and also had a colleague take time off to drive me back). A little honesty goes a long way, and you won't find that here. I definitely won't go back to AutoNation Renton Honda.

Came in a few weeks ago to have my VTC actuator in my 2015 Fit replaced under extended warranty (they're commonly defective and it's a VERY common issue). It wasn't under the normal warranty anymore, but I had purchased the extended warranty. However, the extended warranty denied the claim, despite the fact that I change my oil every 5,000 mi (this part was not Autonation's fault).

I talked with John and he handled dealing with the warranty company. It seriously seemed like the service staff here had never worked with an extended warranty company before (although 'm sure the sales people will try to push one onto any car buyer).

I submitted my oil receipts to John and he forwarded them to the warranty company. Waited a day. Was told it wasn't enough.

I submitted a sheet of the date/miles of when I did the oil changes. Waited a day. Wasn't enough.

I submitted my receipts for the oil filters. Waited another day. Was told it wasn't enough.

It would be nice if the staff was trained better, so that they could tell me what typically warranty companies want, so that I don't need to keep coming back to the dealership to submit papers. I assume this wasn't the first time they've dealt with an extended warranty claim, right?

To top it off, they charged me with a $100+ diagnosis fee. They diagnosed the issue with my car as a defective VTC actuator. That wasn't new information. I told them when I went in that it was the VTC actuator. It's such a common issue that you can search for "honda startup noise" on Google and see thousands of results about the issue.

During a separate issue I had with my car about a year ago, they misdiagnosed an issue I was having with Fit as a bad alternator. I declined because I knew that the alternator was charging the battery fine. They wanted me to spend $700 for parts & labor to replace the alternator, but the issue ended up actually being a bad $50 sensor.

I would steer clear of any business car dealership that associates itself with or is owned by Autonation. These guys are crooks. To find out for yourself, click on the autonation web site and act like you want to sell them your car, and see what they offer you. With many choices about whom to do business with, there is no reason any educated person would want to do business with these people! I wouldn't even think of it.

I did some research before committing to buy a specific car. Therefore, i went to AutoNation Honda Renton to purchase/inquire about the car i want. The car i want is a manual transmission and the salesperson told me that Honda has not manufactured this type of transmission which is a big lie. This salesperson was not honest and cost this dealer to lose my business. Maybe they need to some internet research before deliberately lying to a knowledgeable potential customer.

A hassle-free buying experience. I did not expect to buy car like this. A Salesman named Tim had an appointment scheduled for us and had the car pulled up to the front door when we arrived. The whole process was quick and easy, I never expected this kind of customer service. Tim made sure we were well taken care of. We are very satisfied with the level of service provided by Nation Auto Honda. I would definitely recommend a friend or consider buying a car from them in the future.

We visited several local Honda stores as we worked our way through the make, model, trim and color decision tree. The folks at AutoNation Honda of Renton were very helpful and low pressure. They gave us an aggressive discount off MSRP and a generous trade-in on our 15-year-old CR-V. I recently bought a 2015 BMW here. Jeffrey was more than helpful and super sweet. He definitely excels in customer service. He was so patient with the process and kept me informed of everything. When I thought it may not work out, he found a way. The finance manager was not pushy or rude in fact for the first time that part of the process was pleasant.I am glad I shopped around and waited. I went to Honda service center to diagnosis again to make sure it is actual problem. Bill at Honda service center patiently listened the problem and told me that he will call after diagnosis is done. I was amazed when he called back and told me that there is problem with AC clutch and they replaced it for free. He pulled the my car warranty record and there is extended warranty on clutch. So they replaced it for free. I simply amazed by the extra mile he went to help the customer. Now on wards I will only go to Renton honda for all my car service..

Came to Renton Honda with high expectations and they more than lived up to their reputation! Paolo was very warm and welcoming and did what more salesmen out there should do....LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. He wanted to know exactly what I was looking for and what I was comfortable with spending. We have always been a Honda family. After moving to Washington from the east coast, we needed to find a dealership out here that we could get into a long-term relationship with. Mission accomplished! Paolo and Carlos worked diligently to earn our business and got us exactly what we were looking for at a mutually beneficial price point. Stan in finance helped seal the deal with the Honda Care coverage we needed. Long story short, we couldn't be happier with our new car and I would 100% recommend friends/family/colleagues to buy their next car at Renton Honda!

***UPDATE 4/18/16****
Went back to Renton Honda (now Autonation) to upgrade to larger vehicle. Ossman was extremely knowledgeable and took his time to explain all new features on 2016 Odyssey. Went in 75% sure I was going to buy, but Ossman made it easy for me to be 100% sure. Negotiation was great, we worked together to come to a price point that we were both comfortable with.

I bought a car here <2 years ago and knew I had to go back for their exceptional service even though I live almost 30 miles away. I would recommend this dealer to friends, family and strangers alike!

I was checked in by Bill Ackerman as a waiting appt for an oil change, he made sure to go over the service history on my car and confirmed that there was a software update on my car. I set up the appt for 7 am and was surprised that it only took an hour and 15 minutes to get my car back. Bill also made sure to put my car in for a quick wash before checking me out. I still have his card and will definitely remember to call him next time.

Do not buy car from here ! they take forever for an oil change that cost 50$ and take 2 hours. They sell car that said 135 point inspection brokedown within 1 months . Never help end up taking a lost on car and buy new one.

If you can, go to a different location! Honda of Seattle for example....... The Renton location is a bunch of crooked sales people. We were lied to by both the sales guy and the finance guy!!! We know a lot of people in the Asian community and rest assure with social media around, they will be aware of the way we were lied to. We trusted these people but we were wrong to do so. Lesson learned.
We bought another car in the same week from Honda of Seattle and it was the best experience ever!!
We will never go back here.

Went and bought a car over the weekend from these guys. The place was nice and well kept and I was quickly helped. My salesman, Emmanuel, was considerate and listened to what I had to say which I appreciated. He struck a good balance between helping me navigate the process and still trying to sell me something. After taking the car for a drive and finding it acceptable I went through the usually ill-perceived process where I give them my money. My salesman was straightforward and didn't seem to obfuscate anything he had any control over. The one major criticism I have, and I'm sure this is per their company rather than their individual workers, was that my final payments for the car ended up on running a credit for me that would only be processed once I signed for the car. I was given an "estimated" monthly price, signed my name, and found a very slightly different price when I went through all the financial paperwork.

Now this worked out fine for me. However, if you know you have bad credit, be careful as I can't say your final payments will be much the same to your original discussion.

Overall the people who work here seem nice and friendly, able to work person to person rather than provider to consumer. This was my first time buying a car and it worked out fine for me thanks to the staff helping me.

We went to Autonation because it was close to home and we stayed because we felt welcome there. The service was great and we came to a great deal, took a beautiful car home; a Honda Civic 2016. We bought it in black with leather seats and all the best technology. The car is luxurious and sporty at the same time. We were very pleased with what we came home with. I don't have much patience in general but the people there did and they treated us with a lot of respect a courtesy. I hadn't bought a new car in a while. The last time was was almost 10 years ago and it was with Chevrolet. All our other cars are Chevys actually, we've had a couple used Hondas and they have been reliable. We knew Honda was a great company and their cars run very well and were great on gas which is important. We were helped by a very friendly person named James Salinas. I have to give a shout out to him because if it had been someone else I don't know if I would have stayed. As I said I don't have much patience and sometimes I may anger people because I can be tough to deal with when it comes to big deals like this. I'd like to hope that if I ever buy a Honda again that James is still there. If I don't buy a Honda I'd hope every salesman is like James.

Took over 2 hours to get my oil change. I had a 10 am appointment. Didn't leave until 12:30pm. The excuse of the customer service guy was that they were 2 workers down. Had to pay for my oil change when I'm under a contract and have prepaid oil changes...Customer service guy was also rude and unprofessional. Needs to take a few training classes. Only reason I'm giving it a 2 star is because I love my car.

There was problem with my previous car but he took his time and gave us the best option and searching for best thing we could do to afford this new car. Overall sales consultant was excellent and couldn't ask for more.

I took in my 2007 Honda Odyssey for 90,000 mile service. I asked to check on TPMS because I had a warning light. I told the service agent given the age of the vehicle, I wanted to know the cost to correct the TPMS problem before I approved the expense. I was told it was a little over $200 for cost and labor. Since I appreciate this feature I approved. After the service was complete, the next time I drove the vehicle, the TPMS light once again displayed. I took the car back and after 2 1/2 hours waiting, I was told that there are really four sensors and only one of them had been replaced. It would be over $500 to get the other sensors repaired. I would not have approved this expense if I had been told the true cost initially. So now I am out the $230 that I paid to have the LF sensor replaced since the TPMS light is constantly displayed on my vehicle.

We were dreading the entire experience of purchasing a new car. We visited 3 local dealerships and decided on a Honda. Nhat, our sales person was GREAT! He listened, he did NOT try and up sell, or pressure us into a 'sign NOW deal', he gave us Honda's bottom line so we could compare and make our decision. Honda delivered the car as promised and have been available and very helpful in answering our many questions. Thank you and we LOVE our new Honda!!
