I should have been worried when a lady was screaming in the parking lot when arriving. Anyway check in and room is ok and turn on the ac. Come back a few hour later and the room has a really bad musky smell. I tell the receptionist in lobby and she says maintenance will come but they have no other rooms yet the parking lot was empty. Well maintenance never showed up. Go to check out the next morning and mention the issue and the they could care less. Will not be coming back.

Very run down rooms, but I hear they're renovating so that might change, and also quite dirty. For some reason they do not have wheel tracks for the curtains across the whole window so not only did it feel like people could see into my room, but I also had the outdoor lights keeping my room bright at night. My room was on the first floor and I was able to hear the lobby music all night as well as the heating unit (or something else that made a constantly repetitive grinding sound) and they kept me awake for a long time. I was here on business so unfortunately I was unable to switch hotels, but I'm very disappointed.

Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly and helpful attendants. I was there for a professional event struggling with my equipment and staff assisted me without me even asking. All around a great place to have an event or conference.

We travel about 40 weeks a year and most of the time try to find a Marriott. That said, I ve held a couple of events here in connection with companies I work with and this is one hotel that far misses the mark in terms of service.

The location is convenient and the decor is good but the service on every front is so far lacking and does not represent the Marriott that I know.

From the front desk, to Housekeeping, to the restaurant, it often lacks in both sufficient staffing and kindness (that s not to say all staff is unkind... but as a whole it s lacking).

This is often a reflection of underdeveloped leadership and/or ownership aptitude but is easily fixed with training and awareness.

I wish his place good luck but this is our last trip/event here.

I should have known right from the start that this was not going to be a good experience. During the reservation process I had to yell for the woman taking my information to hear me and she also had to yell because of all the background noises and laughter of her coworkers.

The lobby was nice but my room was horrific. For a $300 one night stay I received the following:

Cob webs hanging from the ceiling.
A slow draining tub with 3" of water around my ankles during my shower.
Sand paper quality towels and wash cloths
Large unidentifiable stains on the furniture.
A front door with a gap wide enoughto see into the room from the hallway with the door locked.
Cheap motel quality mattress that feels like the floor with springs.

Stay away from this place. Its definitely not worth it.

I gave The Renaissance 5 stars mainly for the quality for the price. We recently stayed two separate nights for lacrosse tournaments. Although we were about 30 minutes away from the fields while others paid more to be closer, I am so glad we did. The hotel is large, classy, yet modern and fun. Parking and access to room was a breeze. Hotel staff was efficient, extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are stylishly decorated and include Aveda grooming products, and bottled water to brew the delicious coffee that comes with the room --usually I don't even drink "hotel room coffee" because it's so disgusting! Last but not least, the buffet, (not a big fan of hotel complimentary buffets due to food sitting out and limited choices and assistance) but this one is phenomenal! The chef makes waffles, omelettes, and happy families to order! Fruit was fresh and there was a large variety of both healthy and decadent breakfast foods to start your day off right. Even the wait staff was attentive and friendly, bringing you freshly pressed OJ and more delicious coffee! As long as this place maintains high standards with the upkeep and cleanliness of their facilities, food, and staff, I would highly recommend staying here if you are headed that way!

For full disclosure I didn't stay at the hotel as a guest. I attended a company function. Yet, I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on what I experienced. The lobby is comfortable and pleasant. The stuff is friendly and professional. There's plenty of parking and the parking lot is well lighted. The hotel is right off route 1 South and a few feet from the Garden State parkway North

This is a decent hotel and was remodeled not long ago. The restaurant and bar leave a little to be desired but the rooms are nice albeit typical. The location is fantastic with lots of dining and shopping nearby.

Needed to find a decent hotel to stay one night in central NJ on Saturday 8/19/17. Came across this location which was great as it was 15-20 min away from two family events. Hotel was easy to get to from DC (driving) and sufficient free parking. Check in was quick. Our room was located on the first floor right next to the swimming pool area. You could hear noise from the pool area but that was ok as we would be using the room late and leaving early (we checked in at 4pm to get our key and turned around and left right away to the family event - returning about 11pm). Room (King size bed) was clean and decent. Bathroom was clean. As a Marriott Rewards member, we received passes for the free breakfast buffet. Took a little longer than desired to be seated but breakfast was good. Check out was easy. What I would like to really thank the staff for concerns my camera bag I left in the room. Didn't realize I left it till maybe 3 hrs after we checked out. Luckily, we were still in NJ. Drove back and explained to the front desk I think I left my bag...lo and behold, they had it behind the counter! All I kept thinking driving back to the hotel was replacing the $3K worth of equipment in the bag. Yes, totally my fault, but THANK YOU for the honesty of the Renaissance staff!!! I would gladly stay again, just would ask for a room not facing the swimming pool when being used.

Beautiful downstairs, nice pool looking from the hallway but the first room had bugs. It was some big bug on the sheets and I had to take something and crush it. It was bug guts on the bed. So housekeeping came and saw it then they moved us to a different one and that had bugs too. The V.I.P lounge had expired milk that I also almost gave my 11 month old. Something said ask the guy how many times they check and he said they replace as they run out so when he checked he was like oh wow its expired. He told a young lady to get some milk so she brought back a cup of milk and said sorry. I really wanted to like this place and make it a staycation spot but I'll pass. My last straw was when I lifted the sheet up off the mattress and it was a lot of black feathers, thick layer of dust and I'm not sure what else it was but it was just gross underneath. I took my babies and left because it was disgusting to know we laid on top of that. They gave us a refund and she said she was surprised the bugs made it to the 2nd floor. All in all it wasn't a pleasurable stay due to bugs.
