Went to a memorable event here recently. Food wasnt too bad, staff was curtious and professional and great views of Brooklyn.

Super staff. Really did right by my school event!!!

Beautiful place. Our server was wonderful. The food on the other hand -horrible. The salad - serioulsy looked liked it was made days in advance, the steak (i took pics) was beyond well done. The chicken was boiled before they made it into marsala (again i took pics). Whoever cooked the food should be embarassed of serving anything like that. My table sent back several dishes. seriously the steak was like shoe leather. We went to domino's afterwards. for $300.00 for four people, disgusting. And truth be told i went in with an open mind- two days before others had told me that the food sucked - they weren't kidding!

I went years ago. When the waiter used a dirty dishrags to wipe down my matt that had fallen on the floor. It was the end.

Cool beach, but doesn't have enough Lifeguards and everyone is forced to be in one spot near the available guards or we cannot swim or be in the water.

Beautiful place. I have attended two functions there and I like it a lot. They are wheelchair accessible.

I had a banquet at this location. The food was delicious, the ambiance and decor was fabulous. The staffing was accommodating. I worked with Sal to plan this event and he was SUPERB! I would recommend this establishment for a gala, banquet, party or any event! You will NOT be disappointed!

While the world is in crisis you as an owner should be disgusted with yourself to take people hard earned money while people are about to face hardships they are uncertain of . No refund at a time like this ??? Your doors should remain shut!!!

Food is not up to par at this place and the food is horrific. Had a business breakfast there and one of my friends asked our waitress for some tea and the waitress said this exactly, "Just so you know we work on tips." We could not believe that. It was the only thing our table asked for. The breakfast was cold as well. It's a shame because even 3 weddings I attended weren't great. They could really do better if they tried.

Good luck parking. FILTHY WATER and smelly dirty bathrooms....but then again...what can I expect from staten island?

I was here on New Year s Eve... Steak was extremely well done. Lobster tail was very cold. Real bad coordination

Had my baby shower here at the Vanderbilt this past January. Everything was amazing, from the food, to the ambiance, to the service. Sal was amazing at being my event coordinator. He took the time to answer all my questions (at the venue and via email), altered the menu to meet my needs, and really worked with us when it came to any last minute changes. Felix, my Matre D was so helpful before, during, and after the event. He helped to make sure that my vision for the shower was executed by helping us put the decor together, was there for us during the entire party for any help we needed, and helped us make sure we were able to get all the presents home. The brunch menu was perfect, with so many options for the guests to choose from and was beautifully presented. Overall my experience here was amazing and I m still getting compliments on how nice everything turned out. Definitely recommend the Vanderbilt for all your party needs!

On Saturday September 19, 2015, my husband and I had our reception at The Vanderbilt. I don't even know where to start, this place was AMAZING!!!! We worked with Sal throughout our planning process and he was EXCELLENT!! He made us feel like we were family. He worked with us in personalizing our menu from the cocktail hour to the first course to the main course. The staff was awesome especially Felix and Kelli. Kelli was my bridal attendant who was at my side the whole time. She helped with the photos and even bustling my dress!! She was on top of everything and we couldn't have been more grateful!! Felix our maitre'd was also amazing he worked with our photographer and DJ to make our experience a dream come true!! All of our guests were raving about the food, ambience and service. Believe me it is hard to please 175 people!! The wait staff here were more like guests they were taking pictures in the photo booth with my guests and making sure all of the guests were taken care of!! I definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone!! I even told my husband that I want to have all of our parties and family functions here that's how much we loved it!! Thank You to the whole staff in making our wedding a top priority and like I said before a dream come true!!

Great beach view and beach right at the back. There is a board walk on the back of restaurant too.
The location is really good to spend time with your family.

Just had my daughter s Sweet 16 here and it was amazing!!! Sal took care of everything from start to finish. He was always available to take my questions and help with whatever request me or my daughter had. The day of the party was perfect from start to finish. Staff was so accommodating and helped with whatever we needed. Service was incredible and very attentive to all 180 guests. Felix was unbelievable and made sure we had everything the whole night. No stone was left unturned. The party was ran perfect, the food was delicious and my guests had a great time.

Great place on beach. Went at mother's day and wait with reservation was more than an hour. But that day is crazy and should not be measuring stick. Great walk on beach after brunch.

Had my bridal shower at the Vanderbilt. It was booked VERY last minute due to a venue change, but Sal and his team were extremely accommodating. We had a brunch in the split ball room and everything was wonderful. We were even able to bring some decor items the day before. Everything turned out great the day of the shower and everyone loved the food.

I was 2 years ago there , was great restorant ! I love that .

My wife and I just got married at the Vanderbilt yesterday and it was absolutely amazing.

The story about how we wound up at the Vanderbilt is one of luck working in our favor. When we were browsing around for a place to host our wedding, we were travelling from one venue to another and had some time to kill before the second appointment. We decided to stop in for the heck of it with absolutely zero intention of having the wedding there. Then, we met Sal and we couldn't believe how patient and flexible he was. My wife and I asked for a minute and we knew we were never going to make it to that next appointment. We signed the contract immediately and went home very excited.

Over the next few months, Sal was there any time we had questions and he did a great job of keeping my wife calm when she thought we were behind schedule (we were actually months ahead of schedule). As the day drew closer, Sal helped us go over every single last detail with incredible patience and the right advice when we needed it.

On the day of our wedding, the amazing service continued with Felix, the Maitre D, and Kellie the bridal attendant. My wife and I aren't very demanding people (or so I hope lol), but they were there to take care of things before we even knew they needed to be taken care. It was amazing. Our entire bridal party was blown away by the level of service Felix and Kellie gave us. They simply didn't miss a single beat. It was amazing and made us feel like the most important people in the world.

While my wife and I didn't get to interact with the other servers all that much, our guests have already started telling us how great they were, as well.

I am absolutely floored by the level of service we received last night. Sal, Felix, Kellie and all of the other people we wound up talking to over the past year were absolutely amazing to work with. Sure, the hall itself, is beautiful and the ocean view making the room that much more breath taking, but the service is the real crown jewel at The Vanderbilt.

Bunch of crooks. Stole the deposit because they had to cancel a sweet 16 for my nieces. Very unhappy with this venue.

Beautiful ocean views from the South Beach boardwalk. Food was ok. Service was mediocre. One server was rude when a customer asked a simple question.

Terrible, unprofessional attitude, & poor service. The event planner decided to change my plans and agreement to suit their own $$$ needs. Double booking is their goal. No refunds were given back. Save yourselves the stress & deal with another venue.

I never write reviews but I had my wedding at The Vanderbilt on 6/8 and they were fantastic! The staff is so polite they made sure my day went smoothly and even took over pushing my son in his stroller through out my reception so we could enjoy ourselves! When I say they did an outstanding job I mean it! They went above and beyond! They are highly recommended!

Sal was always a phone call away and ready to take care of anything we needed or wanted to change. The venue is spectacular and everyone was raving about how incredible our beach ceremony was. Felix, our matre'd made sure that our wedding ran smoothly and was always around to make sure we were having a great time, eating and of course not letting us cry too much! Kelly, my bridal attendant was always there to help me with anything I needed! I would highly recommend using the Vanderbilt for your wedding or any other event that you may have! It is the perfect combination of classiness with a wow factor and the staff was absolutely amazing!

I think I found the place where I'm going to spend a few future Thanksgivings. Food was delicious and very elegant venue.

The decision to host our wedding here was the easiest one initially and turned out to be the best one. Even with my high expectations the level of service and quality of the food, drinks, and ambiance exceeded everything my husband and I had hoped for. The open bar was great, and the bartenders were awesome and kept the drinks flowing the entire evening.

Better than could possibly be advertised... there's really not a single thing we would change about choosing The Vanderbilt. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue!
I intend to personally write the corporate office a letter complimenting the staff at the Vanderbilt for an exceptional job. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

A wide, sandy beach by the ocean. Hardly crowded. Good basic infrastructure - a boulevard in the form of a wooden bridge, neat toilets, lifeguards towers every 100 meters, but remember that this is the mouth of the river and the water is just full of rubbish. The beach is not too clean either. Watch out for sunbathing: don't feel that the sun is sunbathing strongly because there is a constant wind from the ocean. The effect is felt only after leaving the beach, also carefully with the sun.
It is worth coming here because of the amazing view of Brooklyn and the Verrezano bridge

I can't believe it has been close to 1 month since our wedding that was beautifully hosted by The Vanderbilt. Sal and his team went above and beyond our expectations. All of our guests loved our soft & romantic garden ceremony and were blown away at our intimate reception in the Palm Room. We were dancing non stop from beginning to end! The Vanderbilt staff were all smiles, they treated my friends and family with the up most respect - it was an AMAZING time overall. Sal you are such a joy to work with. Thank you for making our wedding day a joyous day to remember!

We had our wedding there on May 6th of this year. It was everything we wanted and more. From the beginning, Brittany and Felix were amazing to work with. They put you at ease and carry out everything you could ever ask for. Thank you for helping to make our day so amazing.
