Modern hotel but with a cozy and clean style, very comfortable room, buffet dinner with a good assortment of dishes and good quality of food
subway just in front of the hotel 4/5 stops and you are in the center

A nice Marriott property. They don't have a lounge but the hotel is nice. It's located a bit outside of the city center, but it's close to Schoschburg. The breakfast is rather local than international and you don't want to arrive for breakfast late, because the attendants were not happy (and they made us feel it). Nonetheless, there's a nice shopping street nearby with some bars and restaurants (and an Irish pub as well).

For the price, this hotel is AMAZIng!. The location is not directly in city center but you can easily walk (1 mile) or take the subway or street train--Vienna is very easy to get around. The hotel is very modern, I love the decor. My last visit I said at the Renaissance Riding School and prefer this hotel (Riding School has bigger rooms but not as well kept as the Wein). The hotel has the vibe of a W (for those SPG people.) The breakfast is great and the staff was very helpful. My husband used the Sauna and said it was spotless. Their is an Amazon 24 hour pick up station super close so you can use AMAZON.de to get any last minute items (Or as we did to have a car seat sent ) This will be my Go To Vienna Marriot.

Very pleasant, beautiful rooms, albeit with small flaws. The breakfast is plentiful and the staff friendly.
The only drawback: the staff at breakfast is very motivated (positive) and clears up too quickly, without then e.g. if the napkin is dirty, replace it with a new one / put it down or ask the guest whether it can be cleared.

And the senior staff (service) should keep the tone friendly towards their own staff in front of guests. It is an absolute no-no to look at the kitchen staff in front of others.

Could have been a 5 star, but the staff brought it down to 3. Horrible check in. Was sent a message saying I was upgraded. Got to my room and it was the same one I booked. I asked the hotel and they said it was a mistake. Great customer service!

I may have rated this hotel higher but... here s the story. We booked the Marriott Courtyard by the Prater the day before on Expedia. We took a train from Munich to get to Vienna s main train station (4-hour ride). Then had to take several subways in sticky heat to get to said Courtyard only to find there was a glitch in their system. Our reservation had been lost and they were full with no rooms available. They gave us a room at the Renaissance for the same price, included breakfast and covered the taxi ride clear across Vienna. Biggest issue there was we were much further away from Old Town and all the sites we wanted to see AND there was subway construction. To get to Old Town, we had to get off the subway, take a bus then get back on the subway. Major pain. The Renaissance itself was nice - clean and friendly. However, they had the worst bath towels I ve ever experienced - thin with frayed edges. They provided one tiny bar of soap plus bath gel but... no wash cloths. The room safe didn t work. Wouldn t even turn on. And the street noise was terrible. Ear plugs needed for sure. Breakfast was excellent - huge variety and everything was fresh/replaced often. Biggest downside was the hotel location and the transportation obstacles.

They refused to let me check out one day early (3 nights instead of 4) arguing that my rate doesn't allow me to do that. A little flexibility would go a long way, I'm a pretty loyal customer that spends over 100 nights/year at Marriott hotels

The bathrooms doors do not close fully, but has a large gap that does not provide privacy. Also, the rooms have no bathtubs and the design of the shower makes it almost impossible to take a shower with wetting most of the bathroom floor. I was less than pleased with my accommodations.

Great place to stay, hotel staff very friendly, easy access to all public transportation that includes trolley, subway and bus lines. No need for a car. Wonderful city to visit with lots of history. Restaurant was great for breakfast with eggs to order, if you can find the cook. No transportation provided to/from the airport. Nice rooms.

Modern and clean hotel. Staff were polite. Located near U Bahn station so handy for getting around. Breakfast was 25 euros - too wasn't prepared to pay this so can't comment on that. Wifi free upto 512kb, but was easily recieving 1-2mb/sec. We would stay again.

The hotel with the best price - performance ratio in Vienna !!! The bar and the food is good !!! The bartender Anatol is a soul of man .... Very nice and tried to make everything possible .... He asked eg in the kitchen if we get from the menu a clubsandwich, the way was excellent as the whole food .... That's why alone this hotel would have earned a star extra from me !!!!

It's been okay. I don't find the current situation at breakfast optimally resolved (everything does not have to be wrapped in plastic, someone also prepares it), but that's the way it is right now.

This place has been a horrible nightmare. Went to work out in the fitness center only to be barraged by naked old men who were apparently using a sauna next to the center. I vomited from the shock. Marriott, please warn me next time.
When I went to the front desk to address the issue, I was verbally attacked by a very fat white bald man who told me that was the Austrian culture and if I did not like it I should leave. I was also accused of praying to God??? where did this come in???
A night manager worked it out so hopefully I can work out at a nearby Marriott.
Would never stay here again and will seriously reconsider staying at any Marriott in Europe.

Just not up to par.

I liked this hotel for a classy cozy feel and nice room amenities. It was outside the city centre but Vienna public transportation makes it easy to get around and alternatively, it was close to the palace. The staff were friendly, the rooms were very clean and the gym and wellness centre was top notch!

We were very happy with this hotel. Good staff made two dining suggestions that were spot on. Quiet room, especially considering that we were on the ground floor next to the street and rail line. Hotel seems to be a little out in the burbs but with the U4 subway line right across the street getting around was a snap. Only one stop from the palace which is not to be missed.

Modern structure, with spacious and clean rooms and bathrooms. Staff always friendly and helpful. Good location, close to the metro, in ten minutes you arrive in the center. The garage for the car costs 25 euros per night.

Exterior was not so nice looked very unclean. But there is a lot of traffic in Vienna in the middle of the street.
Great inside for that. Modern, chic, everything is great.
Great breakfast, with everything that goes with it.
Some people just have no behavior, go to breakfast with sweatpants on. Or the one waiter sneezes at the guests ... but everybody has to sneeze in the crook of his arm when doing something like that ... you have to know that when you do such a job

ok

A great hotel with easy access to public transport.
Only breakfast should not as a private traveler between 8 + 9: 00 clock. During this time you meet in this hotel on boorish, loud, draining and sometimes even outrageous Chinese. If that's the general way, then good night with this "country team".

Stayed 4 days in the hotel, the rooms were very clean every day, the staff at the front desk are very accommodating, the bartenders understand their job, we have been here for the second time and will be back, thank you

Nice hotel with modern decor, coffee can be prepared in the room itself, great location in the immediate vicinity of the subway, booked online and forgot breakfast booking - subsequent booking on site very restrictive, only for the price of 25 .-- possible, so only 4 stars.

We stayed at the Renaissance Wien Hotel for one night.

PER:
- Staff are very courteous.
- Modern, quiet rooms
- Breakfast (at least included with us)

CONTRA:
- Cleanliness: there was thick black hair in the toilet, the carpet in front of the bed was not properly vacuumed, various "crumbs"
- Breakfast with a lot of choice, but everything tasted very bland. For an inclusive breakfast okay, but if we had paid the advertised price of over 20 euros per person, we would definitely have complained.
- Late checkout quite "stuffy": only as a member of the in-house reward program we were given one hour free of charge, for each additional hour we would have had to pay 10 euros each. We have never experienced this in any other hotel before.

NO GO:
A large glass pane with a slightly milky tint on which the mirror on the bathroom side is mounted is installed as a design element between the sleeping area and the bathroom. Despite the frosted glass, you can look directly from the bed at the toilet / washstand and see (not completely, but more than just guessing) what is going on there.
In addition, the sliding door to the bathroom has a very large gap to the wall, so that a) you can hear the smallest noise and b) look at the toilet from your room.

Here you have to be very tolerant or familiar. Even as a long-married couple, there should be areas that are private that you don't HAVE to share with each other. This is really difficult in this room - you are practically forced to stick your head out of the window while the other is in the bathroom.

Would we stay here again?
No thanks!

Wonderful hotel. Great rooms, although a little small, the bath room was huge. Nice comfortable beds. Great restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and remembered my name every time I met them. Would stay again!

Twice the key cards did not work and we had to schlep back down to the lobby for a refresh. No door on the shower guarantees a watery mess in the bathroom. A window into the bathroom(!) from the bedroom means you can't leave the bathroom light on so you can find it in the dark. It also means you can watch your wife on the loo.

Obviously the Renaissance is a hotel designed by people who never stay in hotels.
