Pros: Large suites, almost like small apartments. Pricing was very reasonable, and also has complementary Ohare Shuttle service. In-Hotel Starbucks is nice. Rooms have plenty of space and amenities for stay. Very Business-Class feel. Shower had an /actual tub/ in it!
Cons: Paid Breakfast, Paid Wifi. Bed was "well-worn in", which meant I was unable to get a good night's rest the entire time. Bathroom had two sink mirrors arranged in the corner, so trying to actually see to shave/morning care was a PITA.
Other thoughts: The hotel is nice, staff were friendly, and the whole place has a Business-class feel to it. Probably the best rooms overall I've been to in a while. The bed and mirror situation, in addition to needing to pay for food & wifi knocks a star off in my book. Would stay at again.
Hotel was ideally located close to Ohare airport. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great with consistent water pressure and temperature. The room was well kept. I was disappointed that the lounge was closed, so I'm not able to judge it. The breakfast buffet was delicious as well. I'd definitely suggest staying here again.
The location wasn't bad close to the highway and CTA stop. The room was nice, but charging $4 for a bottle of water in the room and $3.25 for a bottle of soda in the soda machine seemed crazy. Also, housekeeping needs to knock before entering a guest room as twice housekeeping just let themselves into the room without knocking while we were in the room.
Stayed one night at the Renaissance on a asaturday night. Staff was friendly, room was clean and the rooms are well appointed. Being near the airport, there was some plane and train noise but nothing disruptive. My wife called her shower the hottest water she's ever had on vacarion! (In a good way!)
Was ok not the best. Doors squeeked like crazy in the room, house keepers came randomly late in the day, and front desk was ok. Probably would go somewhere else next time otherwise fair enough place.
Ok place to stay. Little on the old side. Staff was very curtious and friendly. Clean rooms. Good pillows (Little stuff like pillows make me want to come back)
We got into this hotel for a great deal of 100 supposed to be 600 and its a 4 star hotel. They have their parking space for 35 overnight and 20 for day
Rude, unhelpful staff. They also changed my booking on me from a king bed to two doubles upon check in. And as if that wasnt bad enough, they ding you $35 for parking that was conveniently not mentioned when booking online. I would advise anyone to stay far far away from this place. Just a bunch of scammers.
Great place if someone else is paying. We had family stay with us in another room. We took the suite, they took the regular. It was EXACTLY the same same room. In fact, the regular room had an additional piece of furniture to it. So save yourself some money and just get a regular room.
It was clean and well kept, and the staff was very nice and helpful. I didn't try the restraunt , Asado, but the Starbucks in the lobby was a life saver. Overall, I would stay here again, but only if someone else was paying. What you get for a 4 star hotel was a little lackluster in my opinion.
Pipes knocking loudly while trying to sleep. Air conditioner did not work. We had to switch rooms, luckily it wasn't fully booked. Refrigerator was not cold, had to call for repair. People were smoking in their room in the non-smoking hotel. The smoke came into our room, had to call down for Security.
I cannot believe that they charge an extra $30 per day just to park there, and there are no other parking options! On top of that, parking garage is not directly attached to hotel, so you have to walk either outside or through hallways and down different elevator. Tv in bedroom was fuzzy, hardly any channels. We are disappointed given the good reviews...
My room was a very nice size with a sitting area with desk separate from the bedroom. Nice size bathroom accessible from both the sitting area and bedroom. The property is right off the freeway and an L train stop, but I did not feel the noise level was an issue. The L train stop is really convenient if you want to head downtown. It's about a 40 min ride that takes you right to the heart of Chicago without the need to transfer. The hotel staff were great. Nice size 24/hr gym with locker room & suana. Indoor pool & hot tub was perfect for soaking up ache muscles from walking. I prefer to stay downtown, but if you're looking for a hotel near the airport, this is a great option.
Have stayed in many hotels in this area and this was one of my favorites. The hotel is perfect for longer stays, because of the fridge, microwave, super nice and large desk and the fact that the bedroom and living room is separated. The food at most hotel restaurants in this area is really high(at least for me) and the fridge+micro can save you some $$ if you want to buy food from Mariano's nearby. They also have a nice Jacuzzi.
Went here for a friend's wedding. The food was fantastic. The decor was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. Will definitely look into the venue for a possible wedding
This hotel is in a nice location, close to the airport and a good amount of dining options nearby. Also the blue line is a quick walk if you want to go downtown. The rooms are clean and large, a plus is that the windows open allowing fresh air in. My interactions with the employees were all pleasant.
Quick overnight since a flight was canceled. Room was clean but a little older in regard to furniture and decor. Interesting room layout between the bed, bathroom, and living room but it was nice to see it separated.
The staff was extremely friendly and made my stay here enjoyable. I recommend for anyone in the area.
I went there to meeting a friend for the Chicago Wolves game. I was just there for a short period of time but as soon as I walked in everyone at the front desk was really friendly. My friend was in the eighth floor I think Room number 816. Everything was recent remodeled and very clean. For being there for short period of time and the room being only costing $89 a night I wouldn't mind staying there a lot longer....The only thing I found really bad was $4 for a 12oz bottle of water and a candy bar for $3..It was a little pricey for my taste. I suggest to bring your own watering snacks but other than that very good experience
Everything was ok until we opened the sofa bed in our suite. It was obviously used (hello yellow crusty things on the crumpled sheets) and had not been cleaned prior to us checkinf in. Not sure why we this hotel should get premium price.
Staff is nice. Rooms are very nice and clean. This hotel frequently cleans and renovates to ensure high standard for it's guests. I give this place 5stars or A+++++.
I m giving them 2stars just because of the pandemic. We had no housekeeping our entire stay called numerous times for linen that never arrived until we went down to the pool to get some. And the staff at the front desk wasn t so nice we were told breakfast was included it wasn t as well as it was a $50 per stay deposit it was definitely per day not per stay and parking omg it s $35 to park per day. I definitely feel we should have been compensated somewhat but I will be contacting corporate
Rooms are ok but the house keeping is non-existent!! You have to call the front desk and beg for coffee, shampoo. You cannot reach the front desk aka (Delighted to Serve).. not thru Bonvoy chat either...Not returning
The customer service was horrible and it's so expensive also there is a water bottle in the hotel room and it cost $4.00 just to drink it the hotel was ok but not perfect.
Marriott hotels seem to bank on the name 'Renaissance' which to me in the was positioned as an upgrade from the Marriott Hotel brand. Well here is my list why it is just a name: 1) extra cost internet is 6 Mbs down hardly worth a cost approaching $20 per day 2) Concierge level room too small for this size hotel with bar napkins and paper cups for coffee instead of real mugs for coffee 3) Checkin missed the fact you cannot leave the garage unless you get a front desk parking pass 4) Oatmeal bowls in restaurant are really coffee cups. The building is nice but not worth the cost considering the services once you are there.
