An amazing piece of Regent's park history. Many a sheakespeare play has been performed here especially A midsummer's Night Dream. A very magical theatre space. At the end of the year Jesus christ superstar will be performed here.
Nice sized theatre, refreshments a bit expensive but can have a picnic before and enjoy the shows in the evening
Saw Little Shop of Horrors and had a blast! Great experience, from the picnic dinner for two through the hilarious production.
Performance last matinee of season cancelled due to heavy rain
We just love the open air theatre for the relaxed atmosphere and creativity of the shows and stage design. Not all of the productions we have seen were amazing but some have been really top class (recently we saw As You Like It which was brilliant). The outdoor environment really adds to the experience and the location is fabulous.
We have also enjoyed both picnic hamper or covered dining on occasion before the show. Covered dining is not worth the money - Food is average and choice limited for what you pay for. Picnic hamper is great and we would definitely do this again!
I would highly recommend a visit and we will continue to return for the right show!
Well priced snacks and drinks, in an amazing environment. Highly recommend it, especially on a warm evening.
Great venue when the weather is good. Good burgers and reasonably priced
I was lucky enough to see the amazing show Jesus Christ Superstar at Regents Park theatre. The whole experience was so well thought out, the staff and venue were very well organised with social distancing and safety. The show itself is spectacular!!! Absolutely loved it and really enjoyed being able to watch love theatre again.
Very well organised. Social distancing absolutely well planned. And the show (JCS) was brilliant!
Fantastic watching Peter Pan in the open air theatre. Seating was fantastic for viewing the play.
Unreal setting in the heart of London. When the weather is condescendingly nice, there is no better way to spend a summer evening. Great productions, I have loved every single play and performance I've been to. There are also many dining options; I love the atmosphere at the summer cafe and bar, and for a family day out, you can even have your own picnic. Can't wait for this year's selection, especially Twelfth Night, I'm sure it's going to be superb.
Everyone so happy and friendly. Production was brilliant even when it rained.
A delightful and magical venue. The park location provides the perfect location for a pre show dinner and drink or enjoy a picnic in the gardens prior to the show. Take a blanket as it can get a bit chilly.
A night of romance and magic, although some douche bag skipped the queue during intermission and ruined my night
Charming! Open air theatre in the heart of London, great cast (Jesus Christ Superstar), lovely bar area, lush and green! They even seem to tolerate you bringing your own champagne, making it a really jovial experience. But do buy a drink from the well stocked bar, the theatre company is mostly self supporting, extra income from the bar will keep this little gem afloat.
We had a wee bit of rain (British summer) and they had to interrupt the performance to dry off the stage.
Weather related cancellations will get you a ticket for another show - no refund. So a tiny bit of a gamble.
Thoroughly enjoyed the show with excellent seats prefect afternoon apart from queue at bar in interval which took too long to be served drinks
If the weather is not terrible, you can see some wonderful shows with talented people, with a great open air atmosphere.
Big theatre with picnic area and cafe. The park around it doesn't hurt the appeal, either. Productions are hit or miss and generally not at the same level you can expect in the West End.
Have just seen Hansel and Gretel. Great show, great performances and staging. Be careful in the sun as there is little shade but at least it didn't rain. Will be back in a few weeks.
We to see a star is born open air cinema. It is a great venue and location
Great location, fantastic atmosphere. Sort of place that you'd get a good view wherever you sit. Went twice this Summer for comedy, and has good sound and well organised. Looking forward to returning.
Great venue as per usual but the bar is so overpriced, it's a bit too much for what it is.
Turn of the Screw - Extraordinary Theatre & Production!
Out of this world production. Even better than last year. Would come again and again if I could. Thanks to all in the JCS company for an amazing evening. I'm emotionally exhausted xx
Always a fabulous atmosphere, the fairly intimate tiered seating, the tall trees, floidlit after dark giving a unique ambiance. I've never seen a bad show there, either, always full West end quality. A must do venue for visitors and Londoners alike.
Panbloodytastic! Loved loved loved this swashbuckling take on a classic childhood fairytale. As did my 11 year old son, 'Epic!'. We definitely still believe in fairies! Just wonderful. Thank you.
Great experience watching shows outdoors. We had seats to the side but we're still able to fully enjoy the show. There is a bar serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The toilets are clean and are able to serve the long queue of ladies fairly efficiently.
Wonderful experience I would advise sitting right at the back though if your a bit funny with heights
Was here for the Little Shop of Horrors, attended the first time and the show got rained off, they sorted out replacement tickets and were very professional and pragmatic with their decision. The second show went very well, produced and put together and will return here in the future.
Simply the best!! Been three years in a row. The productions are always amazing
A fantastic performance of Jesus Christ Superstar. Theatre staff and cast did a great job of working within the current restrictions.
Fantastic and magical performance in a spectacular setting. Our seats were as high up as you could be directly centre with the stage and the view even from here was excellent. Well worth going to.
Good option to spend a pleasant evening in London combining theater and open air in good weather.
The work has been interesting combining song and interpretation, the decorations and very careful setting. Entertaining and entertaining, although English speaking to "Shakespearean" can lose at times in terms of understanding, but without problems understanding the context and what happens.
Amazing theatre and amazing show (Jesus Christ Superstar 2020)!
Wonderful experience. A must for anyone on a sunny day
Great place...it appears to have had a face lift too so bar and eateries with a vzriety of food choices . You can still do fine dining or get a hamper or burger and chips if you want, or bring your own food. Toilet facilities also decnt...though pretty bog standard ( pardon the pun) there were a lot of ladies cubicles. I don't actually think there's a bad seat at the Open Air theatre...I've sat in different spots the 3 times I've been and had great view of the stage.
Great place but you need good weather, no overhead coverage at all!
One of the best things to do in London. Make sure you buy a ticket for the correct performance as they do matinees!
We had a great day very well organised and perfect weather.Great uplifting performance.
Usually have wonderful experience here, at the very least the set is wonderful with the birds and trees. The only downside is if it rains or finding the theatre - I don't think Google maps gives the correct directions. I also thought the acoustics weren't very good for the opera I saw there, but I think that's a factor of the outdoor setting. Little Shop of Horrors and Our Town were both wonderful.
Great Experience. Would highly recommend going to see a performance if you are in London
A definite must see place. Nowhere else like this in the city, or anywhere I can remember! A beautiful place that always has top quality shows. Just prey it doesn't rain!
Quintessential London experience. Summer highlight.
Exactly what is says, open air theatre in the centre of Regent's Park, London and yes, if it rains you do get wet and if it really rains then you can have the performance suddenly cancelled right in the middle of the play (but they do allow you to rebook for free). It us a magical setting for theatre. The standard of performance is on par with any West End or Broadway productions.
Seeing a show here has been one of the best experiences in London! The open air theatre is surrounded by the regent park which provides an enchanting scenario for any show. The acoustic is very good.
Toilets, bar and burgers (also vegetarian) available.
Saw Little Shop of Horrors - amazing show! Lovely surroundings and good bar!
Brilliant little theatre at the centre of a historic London Park. Atmospheric particularly when night falls. Bring a blanket in case it gets cold towards the end of a play and bring a poncho too in case it rains. Needless to say there is no cover.
Fabulous production in a magical setting. Can't wait to see what they are putting on next season.
I love the opn air theatre, you can seet in any hair and you can see everything from any side of the stage. Hi lee recommended, and waiting for upcoming shows.
Fabulous open to the elements theatre slap bang in the middle of Regent's Park. Just inside of the Inner Circle near the Boating Lake.
Every performance I have been to here has been magnificently magical. Sometimes this experience will be a wet one. But on the whole a fantastic experience of a Summer's evening.
I have seen Shakespeare plays here (The Tempest and Twelfth Night with real lightning were memorable), but they also have musicals and children's shows too. (Also saw Peter Pan, The Wind In The Willows).
Nearest stations are Baker Street and Regent's Park.
Excellent spot to see a performance. Jesus Christ Superstar in the summer of 2016... amazing.
Very beautiful park. Ideal for a nice walk and a small picnic
Superb summer venue. Top quality stage production and a great to meet with friends and enjoy a luxurious picnic pre theatre
An awesome experience on a sunny day watching Peter Pan
A great show with interesting twists. Love the venue and open air orchestra in the middle of the the park. Surreal.
Only in the UK....could you have fun, sitting in the rain, waiting to watch a Play ! But everyone is in such good spirits that the weather doesn't stand a chance ! A hidden gem in the Park. A good selection of food and drink (at fair prices) help this venue to be memorable. Go just once, or become a regular, it has a magical quality like nowhere else !
Very nice, great facilities. Great view from most places you sat and a really different feel from being outside. Saw turn of the screw and they really intergrated the backdrop of trees and plants.
