REBNY's offices are rather stale and dated. Though strictly functional, You would expect the governing organizations for one of the most profitable locations in real estate to not look like the DMV or a government office.

If you've come hear wondering why another broker or salesperson or even someone in your office is doing something questionable, unethical, and illegal and you're totally confused - if you've come here baffled by the lack of integrity from a landlord - it's because this organization serves and represents the interests of powerful landlords in NYC.
They do nothing to support Residential Brokers except collect money. It s also a told joke with the awards giving out. It s a popularity contest. They gave the Henry Foster award about being ethical to one of the most unethical brokers I have ever met. It s a sham. Half of the firms are not associated with them. Other firms make their salespeople and broker be members. I would say 98% would opt out if they could.
As someone else here stated, They do NOTHING to support Residential Brokers except collect money. Me partner and I have tried reaching out to them over a week now. Via email and phone, left multiple voice messages too. Absolutely no answers!! $400 a year for them to not even answer a simple question.
On February 14, I attended Jerry Feeney's Fair Housing Seminar as part of a REBNY Continuing Education course. It was by far the most interesting seminar on Fair Housing I have ever attended! Jerry gave the historical origins of our Fair Housing Regulations which was a great way to start and keep the subject interesting. It also helped explain how we got to the Fair Housing Regulations we have, why the Fair Housing rules are a good thing and why we must work to enforce them. Great job Jerry.
