Campus Realty is a highly unprofessional company. Yes, they lease primarily to college students - but that's no excuse for the lack of professionalism and customer service.
The office employees (Shayna and Beth) regularly close the office with little warning, and are always incredibly rude and/or dismissive; both have come across as highly annoyed during every single interaction I have had with them, either on the phone or in the office, even during interactions as short as dropping off a rent check. Frequently, when walking into the office, you are greeted with a cold "What do you want?" - not the way you would like to or expect to start a conversation with a leasing provider.
Absolutely zero effort is put into Campus Realty's customer service - the company's first approach to every situation is to remind tenants of all possible fines and repercussions, rather than consider all solutions. For example, my property lacked a bike rack - rather than install one, Campus Realty threatened everyone locking their bikes up elsewhere with fines or removal of bikes. Only after ongoing follow up from multiple tenants was a bike rack installed. Campus Realty treats all tenants as irresponsible college students, and shows an incredible amount of disrespect. Thankfully, my roommates and I have not encountered a significantly large issue; I cannot imagine having to deal with the Campus Realty staff for a prolonged or more severe issue.
As for the property itself, it's adequate; old, and not in the best shape, but did have some work done on it. Doors and windows leak, the building was infested with bees, but some attempt at correcting these issues was made. The maintenance staff is the most helpful aspect of Campus Realty; they respond relatively quickly, and, compared to the office staff, only require follow-up requests occasionally. Rent is high, though comparable to other leasing companies in the neighborhood. However, Campus Realty's high maintenance fees (paid each year, even if the lease is resigned) are much higher than their competition's. Staff is slow and unclear with communications about tenant accounts and about fees. Forms are often provided lacking relevant information (such as parking payment agreements that lack the actual price of the parking spot).
Overall, I would not recommend Campus Realty. While they're just adequate as a leasing company by incredibly low, college-housing standards, they're horrible at any regular standard of service. The lack of respect for tenants and dismal customer service make interactions with Campus Realty unpleasant and worth avoiding.
