Several months ago, I changed job and found myself in need of a rental property. When I am looking for something, I start by researching the company prior to dealing with them. The mixed reviews caused some hesitancy on my part. I called and talked with Cyndi Bates. She listened to my needs and showed properties that were available that would fit what I wanted. She found the perfect place for me. I want people to know that you should not believe all of what you read. I have contacted her several times over the months and she has always responded within a reasonable amount of time and has gone out of her way to be helpful. I highly recommend Cyndi and the company she represents.

Beware!!! They will try to keep your security dep...

Beware!!! They will try to keep your security deposit. We moved into a filthy property and asked for it to be cleaned which they denied. When moving out we cleaned to property much better than how we found it upon moving in. I asked if I needed to be present during the final walk through and they told us no that if there were any issues they would contact us about it. We never heard anything back and received a portion of our security deposit in the mail. When I called and asked about it, I was told there was dust on the baseboards, the sliding glass door was dirty, and there was some streaks on the cabinets. They said that was over and above normal wear and tear on a property and was charged a $150 cleaning fee. Also, it took them 2 months to get us a key to the pool at the facility. Hard to reach on the phone at times having to email for a response as they did not return voicemails. Poorly run operation

I just can't say enough about Susan Lawrence. She is amazing! She is honest, realistic and when I was getting stressed she calmed me down. Kept us informed from the moment we signed to the moment our house closed. The smoothest house sale ever for us. Do not hesitate to have her sell your house!

My property has been managed by ERMC for well over 10 years and I've always been pleased. I wanted to let everyone know that Cyndi is nice as well as professional, in the rental management business you encounter all kinds and I know when she says she will do something it gets done!

HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES. TREATED ME LIKE TRASH. RENTED AS TENANT FOR 3 YEARS. GIVEN 30 DAY LETTER TO VACATE. HORRIBLE UPKEEP ON MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS. LEFT ME IN A NIGHTMARE SITUATION. NEVER HAD TO LEAVE A HOME IN SHORT NOTICE UNTIL I DEALT W/ THESE PEOPLE. AND IF YOU CANNOT EVEN TRUST THEM W/ A SIMPLE RENTAL HOW COULD YOU BUY A HOME FROM THEM??

It never ceases to amaze me how people so quickly ...

It never ceases to amaze me how people so quickly try to discredit the quality and integrity of a companies employee and how quickly people take what is written about a specific employee to be gospel ? After 28 years in law enforcement I have learned that "not everything your hear or are told is ever gospel". I recommend you take a look for yourself ! I did and found Ms. Bates to be extremely professional, polite and a fine representative for Essentials Management Company. She was a big part of finding me the home I was looking for with in my needs. And continues to be very helpful when ever I have questions. Again , please take a look for yourself if you are looking for a new place of residence , Ms. Bates and the Essentials team is an excellent place to start !

Do not do business with this company, they will no...

Do not do business with this company, they will not honor their word or their procedure for customer service. Grossly un-professional, Made call to make appt. for property viewing and application process, salesperson told me property was not available yet to view due to homeowner request, took name and number and was told would be first one contacted when available to view,. Made call about property a couple days later and was told it was under application by someone who did not even go tru the company guidelines for application and they allowed that to take precedence over my initial call about property. I guess their conversations with customers and their word mean nothing. Contracts with homeowners to rent property provide against customers screwing over company, but no recourse for customers against company screwing over customers. Its all about a commission for the realtors and not about doing business in a Professional manner in consumer interest.I hope the Owner of this company does not condone this type of behavior and deals with the Rental agent accordingly.

Cyndi Bates was very helpful and amazing to help me after hours. We had a electrical issue at 7:30 at night on Sunday my family had come in from Virginia to visit . We called and left a voicemail for Cyndi and she returned our call within about 10 minutes . By 9 o'clock she had the issue fixed if I could give this company 10 stars I would . Very professional and prompt service .

It s been a long time since Bob and I rented a place and I must say that renting from you guys was a great experience. You were always responsive to whatever issues we had and sent someone to address them promptly. You don t always get such good service from management companies.

I was in the market to buy a home in North Topsail...

I was in the market to buy a home in North Topsail Beach, Lisa Matthews was the sellers agent. Ms. Lisa Matthew's was unresponsive, misleading, and often not transparent with her intentions or action.

May 26th, we put an offer down on home in North Topsail Beach, it was down hill from then on out. It would take days, weeks, or at times we had to reach out to her several times before she would respond. Only after we signed the contract and called to let her know she would receive check the next day, did she inform us that they accepted another offer. The listing was placed in Pending Status night before we even knew there was another buyer. There was NO transparency regarding potential buyers during the entire process, nor did we have the opportunity
to counter because the transaction had been finalized with the other buyer. During our three day wait, she was ensuring the other offer went through beforehand; all in effort to benefit her pockets with no concern of how unethical she was being, or perhaps she just didnt care.

We spent a month of her not responding and dragging out the process to see what better offer she could get. It became apparent she did not want us to have the same opportunity.

If you are looking for a unprofessional, unethical, and unreponsive realtor then Ms. Lisa Matthew is your realtor.

Very disappointed in putting my house on the marke...

Very disappointed in putting my house on the market with Susan Lawrence. I spent so much time going to and from offices signing papers. She sent contractors to do minor repairs on Sunday lying to them to get the work done saying an inspector would be there on Monday. Said my house wouldn't appraise. I know better.

I can't thank Ms. Bates enough for going the extra mile for my family, I was in a tight situation and she went the extra mile for me. She stayed after hours to make sure I got the keys and the final paperwork. I would highly recommend her and the gentleman that showed me the home. Both were very knowledgeable and helpful.

If I could give this place zero stars, I most definitely would! I rented a place about a year ago and decided not to renew my lease. I have absolutely no idea how in the world Mr. Buddy Blake still allows to let Cyndi Bates (the lady in the front office upstairs) still work there! It really amazes me! Some of my friends who also rent there feel the same way, and I'm sure almost everyone does too. Nothing but absolute problems with her. She must really hate life, that lady. I could go into detail, but my life is good, therefore, I will leave it at that. Just glad I do NOT have to deal with her anymore! It is unbelievable the things this lady has gotten away with. Mr. Blake, please, do everyone a favor, and get rid of her, even though I know he won't. This is your warning people, read the reviews. STAY FAR AWAY! This company is corrupt!!!

Their rental property management division is horrific. They sent a questionable technician out that broke an appliance. When contacted about the issue, suddenly managers (Cyndi and Butch) ignored all calls and emails. Highly unprofessional group of people.
