We came in for my girlfriends birthday and I'm gonna say the experience was excellent. My server Jay was beyond excellent she is very genuine and just a wonderful server. If you come here which I highly recommend ask for Jay she is Great. All in all I had a great time the food was incredible. Please please check this place out. Love it.

Mercury provided customer-focused quality service in an exemplary manner. I highly recommend Ray's for excellent food and Mercury as server of the year!
DELICIOUS. When I went here for the first time, my taste buds were in LOVE. Their drinks were some of the best drinks I've ever had as well as their fish. Great date night spot, very elegant.
For dinner this probably a good choice be wary if you are considering it for lunch. In town for the weekend and went there for lunch, could not find anything on lunch menu that I was willing to order, as they had a limited lunch menu. We asked to order off dinner menu (the one we had researched) and they did not offer their full dinner menu for lunch (never had a restaurant say that ever)....so after the waiter made a couple of trips to kitchen to see if our top dinner choices were available for lunch, we scored one for three choices, we got up and left. Not going to pay crazy prices for a nice meal and it be my second or third choice. I have only got up and left a restaurant two or three times in my lifetime and it has usually been for crummy to non-existeny wait service, never because I couldn't find something to order.
So honestly this place is overrated! I mean, the food was good but it wasn t worth the money it cost at all. Two of my family members got the steak and the meat was not seasoned at all. They fixed it immediately. The dessert, we got the chocolate cake and the cheesecake, bleh.
Outstanding place for quality Quality Meals. the food was tasty. looking forward to a return visit. it has a great feel to it. food is similar to a cafe in portland i loved.
Absolutely delicious! We had high expectations that were dampened by an underwhelming welcome by the host. But once we were seated, Danielle was fantastic. My wife and I were torn between scallops and grouper. Danielle offered advice about the scallops, including recommending an off-menu option. Best scallops I've ever tasted, complemented by lobster risotto and Brussels sprouts with cauliflower. The Goat Cheese fritters with pimento cheese and pepper jelly were also amazing. We will definitely visit again and are also excited to visit Ray's on the River for brunch based on Danielle's recommendation.
Wow! This place definitely lives up to the hype. The staff are SUPER! We made reservations and were seated at a really small table close to the fish tank. It was a beautiful view but the table was very small. We mentioned it to the waiter and he spoke with the manager who swooped in like a knight in shining armor and seemed excited to move us to a more intimate room. What can I say besides the fact that everything we were recommended to eat, from our server (I think his name was Marcus and I cant find my receipt) was absolutely delicious. The timing in which everything was brought out was superb. We had the Ruffino and a white wine Sangria as our drinks (Delish), Crab Cakes and Seafood Gumbo as our appetizers (crab cake was okay but the gumbo was superb), a lobster sushi roll, Shrimp and Grits (Omg! It was heavenly!), and Salmon Oscar (very tasty) as the entrees. All in all, it was a great evening, made even greater by awesome and attentive staff members, and wonderful food. Now this place is not for the faint at heart or should I say wallet as our entire bill was about $194. So definitely come prepared to spend some money. However, I promise you it will be well worth it!!!
Our waiter was good and very nice food was good. Place was half empty and we were given a table that was practically in the kitchen ( the noise from the dishroom drowned out the music!) The busboy stacked up our dirty dishes like a Jenga game, I was afraid they would end up in my lap!
Upscale Restaurant. My Husband and I just had Our last date night in Atlanta. We are moving North to another State. We went here for Dinner and to see the sights. The Bartender was very nice and the Waiter that had me laughing in the restroom was great and funny. The party was in the Ladies room lol.
Great selection of oysters. Very good steaks. Good bar too. The contemporary element is popular. Good place for that special night out. Brian made sure we had a good night.
I stopped by Ray's in the City Saturday late for a night cap. The bartender, Melissa suggested the Red Velvet cake for a desert and boxed it to go and it was outstanding.
Sunday evening I sought out the cake again to share and unfortunately it was after 9 pm and they were closed. Drake saw my sad face at the door at 9:20 and let me in to grab a piece of cake to go. It is refreshing to see customer service these days. Thanks to the Ray's in the City team for good service and for making my short stay in Atlanta more pleasant.
I expect exceptional service when I pay $48 for an entree. I did not receive that here. I received better service at Longhorns. The waiter was very apologetic for the service on every mishap but that was not enough. I did not feel the 5 star service that I would expect from a fine dining establishment. Three stars for Good food though.
Great food! Highly recommend the parmesan scallops with lobster risotto! Went here twice while I was in town, and the waiter Najee/Clifford was AMAZING! Very attentive and suggested delicious drinks. :)
Oh my goodness!!! My bestie and I came for Many Rivers to cross Music festival, and after 4 hours in an uber, and not able to see anyone we came from Greenville, SC to see, we chose this place for dinner. BEST choice ever!!! The bartenders; Darlene, Sandra and Melissa were beyond awesome!! Their service was outstanding and recommendations on what to do in the city were fabulous!! We are both retired bartenders/owners, and we were beyond impressed!! We have shared this place with all of our friends and will definitely be back!!! See you soon!!
I was killing time until my flight and just happened upon Ray's. I lucked into a half dozen oysters for 7 or 8 bucks, happy hour special. Beautiful presentation, but I must've caught the bartender on an off day.
Great service from Troy & Janise! Super helpful with recommendations and the food was exquisite. My wife ordered Brussel sprouts which were amazing. I ordered the filet mignon medium well which was really good as well. Without a reservation still got to a seat within 20 minutes!
Went for lunch with a colleague. Service was quick and efficient. We shared the loaded blue cheese chips which were devilishly good and then had the smoked salmon and quinoa salad which was fresh and tasty. Note-A little messy to eat.
I went here on 2/1 to celebrate my birthday. The service, food, & atmosphere were very nice. There were a couple people who weren t dressed up to match the dress code but, otherwise it was a nice evening. There was also live music which gave a nice vibe to sit and listen.
Sooo good! I had the BBQ shrimp and the fiji apple salad. The shrimp was spicy, probably too spicy if you dont like spicy food. But cooked perfect and came with rice. The salad was just the right size. The pineapple margarita is a little tart, but once you get half of it down, you can't taste anything! Lol we had a large party and our waitress was awesome. She even took our picture! My friend got a shrimp cocktail and it was garnished with dry ice! So cool!
First review, but my second visit to Ray s In the City. My first visit wasn't all that great so I was a little hesitant, but this past Friday made up for it. I went with my BFF... We just wanted to get some drinks initially, but then we decided to eat dinner. So now for the FIVE stars.... Our server was Lucion and I must say.... he was the best damn server I ve ever had. He was very knowledgable, funny, down-to-earth and patient (we were very indecisive lol) with us! We asked him to recommend a couple of seafood dishes and he recommended the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and the Shrimp & Grits.. I went with the crab cakes and my BFF chose the shrimp & grits... we shared the 3 cheese mac. Everything was great. I wont hesitate to come back, but only when I know Lucion is working LOL! But seriously.... He really made our night... the food was a bonus.
Amazing food, ambiance and staff. Tilesa you made our anniversary so special. Thank you! You never know when u r new to the city where to eat. I look at reviews but it doesn t always tell the story. This place is a gem.
Place was terrible, expected way more from the Ray's brand. I have had better food at bad chain restaurants. My wife and I ordered the "special" to share, in my experience at restaurants of this caliber the steak would come out pre-cut for sharability, it was not. Once I tried cutting (sawing) into the steak I immediatly knew that this steak was not worth the money we were going to pay for it, and no seasoning, absolutely flavorless. The manager was receptive and did not make us pay for dinner. If you are looking for a classic steakhouse experience I would not recommend.
Easily the best steak I have ever had! My sides were delicious and well worth the money. The staff was friendly and this place has a chill vibe that makes going there fun. The sushi was way too overpriced (did they go buy it from Kroger?)
TERRIBLE SERVICE from Clifford!!! Lied about the drink specials and refused to let us order anything from it! Seemed out of it or high. Took forever to do everything!! Forgot EVERYTHING!!!
Pretty good mother's day brunch. The online menu said "subject to change" and it did not have some items listed and over sold others. Im pretty sure most, if not All, items on the dessert bar were from Kroger but All together good food. I would expect more from a fine dining restraunt/for the price.
This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in the city. I usually stay at the hotel next door and walk over at least one, maybe two times in my trip. I probably should try other things on the menu but I can't get past my love for the blackened seafood platter. It comes with fish, shrimp, scallops and a crab cake with rice and green beans. It is always seasoned well and cooked perfectly. For appetizers we had the lobster bisque.
Excellent experience! Destiny was our server and she went out of the way to ensure that our experience was magnificent. I would highly recommend based on service and food quality.
Made 7:30pm reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. I arrived 30 mins early and was promptly seated. The buffet set up was beautifully & the food was very good.
Great food!, I had a Oysters to start, and the Kansas Strip w. Lobster Tail for dinner. The food was spot on. Our waiter Mercury, was very attentive and made a lot of great suggestions. If you get him, your in good hands.
Yes, yes, and yes! Loved everything about it! Oh, but the parking is horrible, not their fault though. Arrive very early to find parking, it's not easy to find. You must try this place!! I'm sure all the locations are great! We will try the one up north soon.
The food was tasty. But my seabass was not completely done. We was waiting for our food for a long time and check for a long time. No one apologized for the long wait or for my food not being done. Horrible service
I ate here 2 times during Dragon Con this year. I had the dynamite roll each time and was impressed. I'll be sure to check them out again if I return to Dragon Con.
Exquisite, food was fresh, hot and delicious. Cocktails hit the spot. Price point is also good. Highly recommend this place, and will def revisit when in ATL.
Excellent food. Great service. Could not have been more pleased! Highly recommend the scallops, the steak frites, the horseradish grouper, the hair cheese bites, and the oysters Rockefeller!
My first visit was for my birthday, the food was good...the service from Dominique however was not. She added an additional meal and inconvenienced me and my party 30 minutes for an error that she did not own up to. She made many excuses and manifested a nasty attitude. The manager was present before the matter to bring a gift for my special day but he was not present for the inconvenience the server created. :(
Good Service, Good quality of food (fresh), recently priced for the quality/food. The ambiance is good as well. Everyday they have a happy hour from 5-9pm with a drink at a good price and some bites. Best to make a reservation for dinner time since it s even hard to find a spot at the bar if you just walk in!
Atmosphere was great...live jazz which I love. Server di a wonderful job. The food... I ordered a filet and grilled shrimp the 4 (four) shrimp were fine. I ordered the filet medium it came out medium well and was seared to long on one side (nice way to say it was burned). For the price you pay for their food, it should have melted in my mouth.
