I purchased a '16 Stingray from a dealer in Grand Rapids, Michigan and hoped to use the same one for my next purchase. However, some poor experiences during my last few visits led me to look elsewhere. I started researching dealers within a 500 mile radius that had 1) Excellenct customer service and 2) great prices and as luck would have it, I found Ray Chevrolet. I drove down that same day, saw the car I wanted -- a Seabring Orange Tintcoat '19 Z06 2LZ at a great price! Of course, not 100% satisfied it was the best deal, I proceeded to search for an even better deal...this time nationwide. There just wasn't anyone that could match their prices, even on equivalent '18 models. After a few conversations with George Gigovski and his team I decided to ink the deal. Customer service was fantastic and would recommend to everyone! Thank you George, John and Keith! A++ rating!

I purchased a brand new 2018 Chevy Traverse LT on ...

I purchased a brand new 2018 Chevy Traverse LT on June 27th 2018, with the extended warranty... At the time because of where it came from they only had one key, that was fine as I was promised come my first oil change they would have it and would program it while I waited...

First oil changes comes and they have no record of owing this second key I never got, so I ask for the salesman I worked with, he who happened to be on a 'leave' at that time and I was told by Kyle Miller that they didn't know when he would be back.... So i physically texted Sean, as he had previously given me his number, he said he would take care of it by my NEXT oil change....

So a few months later I come in for Oil change number 2 and work with Luis, whom was very helpful and apologetic that for the SECOND time not only do they have no record of owing me this key, they have no key in stock to even cut me one.. So after speaking with Chris M as Sean with not in again, he assured me that next Oil Change, or if I wanted to come sooner I could, that they would have this key and it would be cut and all that would need to be done is have it programmed.....

So yesterday I called in and asked to speak to Sean so I could make sure this key was going to be there as I was going in today for my THIRD Oil change.... He assured me that he would not something in service to see this through and I shouldn't run into any issues....

Go in this morning and had to laugh because for a THIRD time now after confirming with MANAGEMENT AND MY SALESMAN, my BRAND NEW vehicle still has but one key. Absolutely unacceptable. Now we are in yet another stage of limbo because this key that they already 'had cut' is nowhere to be found and they do not want to just cut another and 'waste it' as I was told...

To top it all off right before shaking Sean and Chris M's hand and sealing the deal, I was still very indecisive and because of how much my payments were I was not set on getting the vehicle. I asked for my keys back and Chris M asked me and my father to wait a second. Came back over with a slightly lower payment and said that he would also throw in OilChanges for the life of my warranty if we 'signed and drove' that day...

So obviously I did, and would you also guess what they have NO RECORD OF OWING ME... The OilChanges...

Needless to say if you dare to use this dealership. PLEASE make sure you get everything in writing.

I hate car dealerships. I have to prepare myself ...

I hate car dealerships. I have to prepare myself for going to one and typically set a timer on my phone for a hard out to not spend the whole day there. I have been searching for a specific car and for the last couple of weeks had very difficult, demoralizing situations from different dealerships. I called over to Ray Chevrolet out of spite while discussing with another dealer and they were not only very professional, but made me feel like a priority (I think her name was Jen? then transferred me to a manager Ryan). We were unable to come to a deal on the phone but when I went into the dealership the following day, I was greeted as I was getting out of my car by Anthony who introduced himself and we hit it off since he had such a cool name.

Ryan the manager whom I spoke with the day prior, remembered me and seemed genuinely concerned about my other dealings. He apologized on behalf of car dealerships and remembered details about me and my situation that made me feel relevant. Anthony sat me down and after hearing about my busy, demoralizing morning at another dealership, offered me food and refreshments and was concerned that I may not have eaten lunch. I assured him I was okay but he got me waters and made me popcorn anyways. He was straight forward and professional. He gave me realistic time frames and never once tried that, "let me check with my manager" and disappear for hours. He was constantly checking on me and between him and Ryan the manager, they were able to get me more money off the price than I asked for (A first for me at any car dealership). They were very fair and honest and would 100% recommend the folks over at Ray Chevrolet if you're looking for a no hassle experience. On top of the sale and professional courtesy, Anthony actually used his lunch break to help me get both cars home (I live 20 miles and about 40 minutes away from the dealership).

VERY BAD BUSINESS!!!

VERY BAD BUSINESS!!!
first thing in the morning I called to confirm the car was there...they said they would have the car put aside for me and set up an appointment for 8pm
called at lunch to make sure we are still good...called @ 4 only to find out my sales rep left but they had me meeting with another person and the car is still there.
called again when I was 45 minutes away and car was still there and the person said they were physically looking at the car.
5 minutes before I got there they called me and said the car was sold earlier that day!!!

They tried to get me into another car, classic case of BAIT AND SWITCH!!!
Went online the next day and they made a new listing on ebay and craigslist for the EXACT SAME CAR I was told they sold!

BUYERS BEWARE!!!

Hugo Ayala was my sales person when buying a 2015 Camaro pace car. My experience was quite refreshing as I did not have to go through the typical 3-4 hour dealership hassle. Hugo did everything to make us comfortable while waiting approx. 1 hour for the finance person to become available. Once we got home it was noticed that the special Indy 500 temporary license plate was missing (adds authenticity to the car). After calling Hugo the license plate was found and he mailed it to me! he could have blown me off but went the extra step to make my purchase and experience at this dealership one of the best I have ever had! Thx. Hugo!

George Zakrzewski at Ray Chevrolet was great! After shopping around for a new car for some months that would accommodate three large dogs we were able to find one that fit what we needed. George Z was honest, friendly, and not pushy! He was knowledgeable and was able to show us how to navigate and work all the bells and whistles on the car. He also wanted to make sure we were comfortable with the price and such. The entire crew at Ray Chevy was great! Shopping during these unprecedented times we were unsure about how this would play out. The establishment was clean and all guidelines were being followed. Ray Chevy exceeded our expectations! We will be returning there for service and for future purchases. Thank you to George Zakrzewski and the team at Ray Chevy!!

I have been a loyal Ray Chevrolet customer for over 12 years. Not only is this the only place I will purchase a car, it is the only place I will recommend. We were recently getting ready to look for a new car, but not quite at the decision point when I received a call from the Ray Customer service dept from a gentleman by the name of Dale. Dale was extrememly cordial and suggested that this may be a good time to look. I stopped by Monday afternoon at about 2:00 pm on a very strict time schedule. Our salesman, Ed Dembski, pointed me in the right direction right away. I was on my way in our new Chevrolet Spark by 3:30 pm. We returned the next morning to complete the paperwork and have the care properly prepped. This experience is exactly like every other experience I have had at Ray. If you are shopping for a new car, but don't like the car buying experiences you have had in the past, give Ray a shot. Go the Ed Dembski and tell him this is a "TIM LEAD!"

I was having a tough time searching for cars after...

I was having a tough time searching for cars after my old one broke down. I went to multiple used car dealerships and personal sellers, but I wasnt having any luck. During the process, George Zakrzewski. helped me by not only showing me the used cars his dealership had the first time I came through there, but he also helped me ensure that the used cars I was looking at from private dealers were legit by looking up the carfax for me (for free) because that's just the kind of guy he is. He's able to put the business aspect aside for a minute even when things didn't end up in his favor. After 2 weeks of searching with no luck, I ended up taking his advice and got myself involved in a car note. He was patient the entire process, showed me multiple cars, and helped me out in the financial portion and the negotiating process. I never would have thought that I would have gotten the car I got with such a great deal/package. Thank you, George. I will definitely be recommending you to anybody trying to buy a car - I owe you more than one for sure!

Buying a car can typically be a high stress event,...

Buying a car can typically be a high stress event, but having to jump in without a plan due to a vehicle dying, raises the stress level beyond belief. We came to Ray Chevrolet due to previous experience and family referrals and did expect good service, but our Sales Rep., Adam Walker, went further than expected, to make this experience as easy and stress free as possible. We came in, totally uncertain, that my daughter's budget would make it possible for us to purchase her a good used car. Adam greeted us with a smile and immediately seemed to realize this was more of a need than a want and that we were nervous. He asked my daughter, right away, what her monthly budget was and what she was looking for. Before we started looking, he immediately told us of one vehicle that he believed would fit both her budget and her needs. Once she saw and drove the vehicle, she loved it.
The next step was the most stressful, financing. I expected difficulty as this is usually the hardest part. He kept the atmosphere light and kept assuring us that everything would be fine, and he was right. She drove away, smiling, in a vehicle that she should have for many years to come. Thank you Adam, for making a rather difficult situation, easy. We so appreciate everything you did.

He was friendly, courteous, and answered every question I had. Had a wonderful experience at Ray Chevrolet last night! After finishing out my lease on a 2012 Chevy Cruze, Adam Frandsen helped us through the process of buying a new 2014 Cruze. Adam was incredibly knowledgeable and made the process as enjoyable and simple as possible. The whole team was great- we came in pretty late and Adam, Joan from the tech team and the finance dept worked to get us set up with the most reasonable deal in a reasonable amount of time. I would definitely recommend Ray Chevrolet to anyone. Thank you all for the help, I'm so happy with my new car!!!

We have bought a few cars from Ray Chevrolet and I would have to say that Tony Jensen has been one of the best sales man we have dealt with. He worked with use and was not a pushy sales man like some of the other ones I have dealt with and also Tony took the time to listen to what we wanted and made it happen. He also told me if there was anything else I need to give him a call and he would do the best he could to help me. I called him about my light in my car and he was there to help me like he said he would. I like that Tony Jensen is a sales man of his word and you need more sales man like Tony Jensen on your Team cause he is one of the best ones that I have dealt with. We were looking for a used truck for about 2 weeks. We found a very nice truck on Ray Chevrolet's website. It was very helpful to be able to ask if the truck was still available and we received a response from Ray's customer service department within a few hours. We were able to set up an appointment to view/test drive the truck. There were a lot of sales people and lots of things going on, but once we got with our sales person the process went pretty smooth. Within 5 hours, and looking at two trucks, we were driving away in our new truck!! Couldn't be happier with the help from the staff at Ray Chevrolet!! I definitely recommend setting up an appointment with them for a test drive as they had over 700 cars while we were there. Makes it much easier of a process!

I walked in with hardly any money to put down on a vehicle and came out with a new Chevrolet Impala. I'm very pleased with my Sales Consultant Sean. He helped me get a low interest rate for the car I wanted. He took his time and put his negotiation skills to work with the bank lenders. The car buying process here did not take as long as most dealerships would. I am looking forward to buying another vehicle from Rays Chevrolet in the future. No hassle

I have purchased two cars from this dealership, a lease in 2018 and recently a used car in 2020. Tony Jensen is a great salesman, always been supremely helpful.

However, in both car buying experiences with Ray Chevy, I have been asked to return to their finance office after a week to sign new paperwork. I am befuddled at this.

First instance, the finance department needed to re-work the lease agreement, the new paperwork had to be signed a week after I was into the car. I was bothered by this as my father and I had to meet and come together and he lives out of state. Otherwise, service on that lease was as good as it gets.

Second instance I was called on a Friday evening 6 days after signing the initial documents. I was told, "we have new paperwork for you to sign, please come in." Totally fine, things happen. When I was finally brought back to finance (Lucas) I was asked for an additional $650 dollars and that they had not initially included my first down payment either. If I was told about this upfront on the voicemail, maybe I would not have felt so blindsided. It's unacceptable how this was handled. Not only was I angry for the request coming out of no where, but this is an atrocious request as I worked with someone (Tony) to complete the agreement in terms I would go for. I did not want to put ANY money down, but we achieved a good deal through the initial down payment (which wasn't even processed with the original agreement).

I will NEVER buy a car here again. This was unacceptable, I feel very strongly that Tony Jensen is a great car salesman who is wonderful to work with. However the finance team has disappointed in both transactions. I would give Ray Chevy a 1 star but I do feel like their sales and service team are highly competent and do a great job. Otherwise, the blindsiding was the last straw.

I don't know if it's because I had already picked out exactly what I wanted before I went in to Ray Chevrolet today but this was by far the smoothest experience I have ever had at a dealer.
When my father and I arrived, Ray himself greeted us and then graciously passed us along to a member of his sales team, Sean Renions . I had been in contact with their scheduling department and they were expecting me. They took me out to the vehicle I had picked, charged the battery, and we went for a short test drive. Sean was courteous and knowledgeable and extremely upfront about everything, answering all my questions and addressing all of my concerns. Sean and his shadowee were laid back and friendly, not overbearing like some salesmen I've met on my two week long adventure of trapping about the greater Rockford area to find the perfect car.
This dealership definitely lived up to its stellar reviews and more than deserves its five-star rating. The facility was exceptionally clean, the sales team and owner friendly, and when they realized the battery in my car was really 100% shot, they replaced it. They even provided a Carfax and gave me time to discuss the vehicle with my father and Sean personally showed us multiple review sites that provided a history of the vehicle in question, and he personally introduced us to a member of the service department.
All in all, it was an excellent day and I cannot recommend, Sean, Ray, or Ray Chevrolet enough. If you want a new or used vehicle, go to Ray Chevrolet- it was well worth the hour long drive.

First of all George Zakrzewski is the greatest! He's patient, caring and wants to be the best help he can be in every situation. He took his time to explain the benefits of buying versus leasing, and also took the time to show me some cars and was overall a huge help! He kept me informed through everything and made sure I was comfortable, he is not pushy in anyway and is definitely not someone who just wants to "make a deal" he truly cares about the customer's overall happiness of what they are buying. He willingly answered every question I had with patients. George is a very knowledgeable salesman and you will be very lucky if you get to work with him, I'll never work with anyone else! I HIGHLY recommend him to everyone. Also I spoke with Kayla Stodulski over the phone a couple times and she was so sweet and informative, truly another valuable employee.

I visited Ray Chevrolet on Saturday, September 19th and walked away with a great car. Matt Kiscellus was my salesman and took very good care of me. Buying a car is a long and exhausting process but Matt made it enjoyable. You can tell he cares about his job and even more, cares about his customers. I am looking forward to a very long relationship with Ray Chevrolet. Everyone from sales to finance to tech to service are TOP NOTCH and truly put their customers first. Who can ask for more?

As a business owner myself, I was impressed with how courteous and helpful the staff was at every level. Sales, service, customer relations, finance, technology, etc. You can tell the difference between a dealer that is trying to sell you on every bell and whistle and one who is fair and wants the right fit for you. I've been to plenty of other dealers, and now I'll never go anywhere else.

Ray's customer service is outstanding! I will never forget one early morning I was leaving for work and could not get my car to turn over. It was like my steering wheel was locked. Not knowing how to solve the issue.... but called your service dept. The guy was pleasant and told me how to turn the steering wheel and got me going. Little things like this I never forget. In my life I have bought two other cars from other dealerships (mercury mariner and a jeep (before you had the Jeep side). BOTH times I have said, wish I would have gone out to Ray Chevrolet! It's worth my hour drive to you! Keep up the great work!

Sales experience was pretty typical. We bought a 2014 GMC truck that they delivered to us after using a loaner because it still needed to be inspected and detailed. Unfortunately after only 2 weeks of having the truck, we had to pay over $1300 to have all the brake pads and rotors replaced.

Random tip: bring a coat because it is FREEZING inside the sales area and you will be sitting there for 4+ hours.

I shopped around at many Chevy dealers looking for the lowest price on my new Malibu and Ray Chevrolet beat them all, and they had the exact model I was looking for in stock which the other dealers did not.

I started taking my Suzuki to Rays after Suzuki st...

I started taking my Suzuki to Rays after Suzuki stopped servicing the US but Rays was(is) a certified Sukuki repair service.. However I've traded that SUV in and got a Chevy Malibu from #HowardsBuickGMC in Elmhurst. When I took it for a test drive I thought the car "ran too loud" but it seemed fine. it drove good. it looked good etc. But as time went on the LOUD Humm just got under my skin, eventually I Took the car back to #HowardsBuickGMCElmhurst I told them the car ran #TOOLOUD (to me), and that folk had been telling me that "oh' that's just how it sounds". But I have been in my sister chevy (impala) it didn't run loud... I wanted a diagnostic just to make sure everything was fine, they claim to have found a "leak" and repaired it via the warranty and my $100 deductible but did nothing for the LOUDNESS of the car! so since they "didn't find anything" I rode w/it. but again over time the LOUDNESS of the car began to IRK my nerves I could hear it even over loud music playing. So (this is where #RaysChevrolet comes in. (I felt comfortable enough w/them since having taken my Suzuki in to them)

so I took my Chevrolet Malibu to #RaysChevrolet same concerns it runs too loud, the performance lacked (to me) but perhaps because it's a 4cylinder and 1 other concern (minor) anyway ... #Rays service department 'found and FIXED" THE ISSUE... When I picked my car up from rays (which I drove 1.5hr (each way) to get to them for EXCELLENT Service..#Rays found the issue / fixed it. OK the test for me came when driving my car home. (again 1.5hr) on the hwy... that LOUD ANNOYING HUMMMM was NO MORE!!! OMG Now I can feel myself falling in LOVE w/my car. That was Monday when I picked it up and even today on the hwy to work, I'm listening and #AHHHHH Yes Bu (malibu) I can love you now... Like I should have from the start!! Anyway

I will say I do feel comfortable enough w/#RaysChevrolet to say that I trust taking my car to them for needed services and would recommend them to anyone who's looking to get the job done.. #Kyle was my service rep at this time....

I wish I had gone to Rays from the JuMp. I went to Howard b/c my sister referred me b/c she'd gotten her impala from them (which she's since traded in for a newer model at a different dealership) BUT I just wanted to add that I had an issue at #HowardBuickGMCElmHurst when I went there for service (which has been resolved) but I Think they want me to keep coming back for another $100 deductible. I shouldn't have had to pay another deductible (at another dealership b/c they Howards should have found and resolved the same issue when I took it to them the first time.

I couldn't be happier than I am with Steve in the service dept. at Ray Chevrolet. I know that I will always be taken care of. I know that I can trust him and the work being done on my cars. I highly recommend Steve in the Ray Chevy service dept!

This is my second vehicle I have bought from Ray's Chevrlot and I will say it was a much more pleasant feeling this time around and I have to say it was both the salesman Rupie and Ryan the sales manager. They got me as close as they could to the new vehicle I wanted at a very reasonable price. I would recommend seeing Rupie if you are to visit Ray's and you are interested in buying a new or used car.

I purchased a used vehicle from Ray Chevy in 2016 which I was satisifed with, just recently I went in to see what my options were with that vehicle and possibly get into a different one. I spoke w/ the same salesman too, so he's familiar with my credit and information. After everything was said and done spending 5 hours there, I left with a brand new 2017 Chevy Cruze, and left the used car as a trade in. They advised me to change over my insurance right away and I would be hearing from the bank shortly after. As time went on I never heard anything so I gave them a call, it took a couple days to finally reach someone and I finally spoke with the finance department and was told they were still processing it and nothing was finalized (this was about a month into it). They claimed my job wasn't verifying what they needed which wasn't true because my job didn't receive anything! (The same salesman I have been working with decided to shoot for a low APR rate), which he knew no way in hell I'd get approved. So after such a long process I decided to be done with the headache and return the car back to them! I don't think it's right for them to make it seem like everything is approved and finalized when a bank wasn't even settled. If they were to tell me this before I drove off the lot and had the vehicle for quite sometime it would have been different, I would have never decided to take the new car. I will never go back here and go through that again! Be careful if they put you in a new vehicle...make sure everything is finalized with an approval from the bank before you drive off the lot! Im highly dissapointed in them! They have lost not only my business but my family's as well!

This frustration has not just been with the sales department. I have also been there multiple times since i bought by car 3 years ago for maintenance purposes in the service department. It was a bad buying experience, as well as 90% of the service appointments since then, and other calls I have received or made.

SUMMARY OF ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I bought my car from here a little over 3 years ago and every. single. time. I leave this place I feel frustrated, used, lied to, etc.
