The process was easy. It only took about two weeks from the initial call.

I had a great experience working with RateGenius while refinancing my car. I worked with a young man named Quin Fraser who was very courteous and helpful in the process. He worked diligently with me until everything was handled and my car was refinanced at a much better rate with much better terms. Thank you Quin and RateGenius!!!

Received an offer in the mail to refinance my vehicle at a 3.1 % rate I filled out the application and was approved for a 4% rate. then the process begins 2 weeks later after they received all my pertinent documents including my vehicle title I am told my dti.is to high so they cannot move forward with the approval. After I sent them insurance registration vehicle title pay stubs and tax forms for the past two years.. this is an insane process steer clear of these people. now i have to sit and wait for all my documents including my title to be mailed back to me. I will stick with my local federal credit union less hassle. Now do to this arduous process my credit score has drop from 696 to 656 40 points lower do to the fact that my information was sent out to several lenders.. I am still waiting for my vehicles title to be mailed back to me..

Fairly painless on-line auto refinance with follow up from agent, competitive rates, no fee

They did what they said they would do. They saved me money. But there is a fee involved.

So I get a offer from them on my credit karma saying we can save you on your auto loan by refinancing. Gives what seems like a good deal. 82$ less a month. When I click on it my offer is a much lower interest rate for 36 months. 12 shorter than my original loan. My payment would be 88$ more. When I do the math I would only save 22$ total by refinancing and paying almost 100$ more a month. What a joke

Currently unemployed due to the pandemic, not my choice, but do have money and am receiving money. Rate genius has denied me refinancing due to being unemployed during a pandemic. I have a $369.88 car loan that is paid on time every month along with excellent credit. Rate Genius is not in a hurry to help people during this crisis and this will be remembered in the future. Mariah, however, my customer service agent was friendly, though not helpful. I wish there was some sort of "tips" or "advice" note on their website stating that if one is unemployed (even if temporarily due to a worldwide pandemic) that they recommend waiting until one returns to his/ her job. I'm disappointed with the experience today and would not recommend Rate Genius to anyone, but I would recommend Capital One. Capital One has been very helpful in helping me build credit over the last 5 years and with my car loan over the last 3.

I can't recall EXACTLY how I found this "genius"...."WAIT A MINUTE!". Yes I can....I didn't.. After I got my Mustang rag-top last Sept (2017), and the dealer had "their way with me" on the financing...essentially MY FAULT (how often do you hear/read that?); I wanted payments I'd be confident affording, resulting in a SEVEN year loan at a nose-bleed high rate. Shortly thereafter, & due in part to my new mid-700's credit status, loan refi application began falling from the sky & these guys' were among them...they actually were MANY of them. I was easily able to make the original payments, & so I now pay $25 more & I'll be done with it 2 years sooner at a full 2% less. They obviously deal with a number of Federal (& other?) Credit Unions, which was why there were a number of offers (came from the banks but thru the "smart guys". (Not sure if they're REALLY geniuses....haven't been shown the IQ tests...so I...wishing to be accurate...(is& brief would've been nice when it usetabe possible too)....will call them very pleasant to deal with and knowledgeable at what they do, though I'm not sure if they hold a chair up while they whip the banks for lower rates....or is it the other way around...in their financial circus performance.
In short....didn't we pass "short" 7 lines & 10 minutes ago?...they were stuck dealing with ME & for handling "THAT" they should get an award & a month vacation....AFTER they pay me off for typing this on my smart phone (which doesn't necessarily have a smart owner) with my 1/2" fingers on smaller than 1/4" keys. (WHICH MEANS stopping every few words looking for the usual typos... (since I often make up a word here & there, I refuse to let Samsung/Google/Android correct my creative linguistic expressions....HEY ya like that one dintcha?
So I'm figgerin' another 1/8th point off per line typed here, meaning I'll have to get a form to take their monthly payments TO ME from their account.

My transaction with rateGenius was completed over the telephone!! No problems,no confusion.Them folks at rateGenius has got it going on!!!!!

Super impressed, bought an Audi TT RS at a 9 APR gave rategenius a try, Taylor Johnson called me with around 6% the first call. We talked he looked at my score and felt he could do better, got a call later in the day and he got me 2.95%!!!!! Easy process they send you all the documents needed to be signed and anything missing they called to let you know. Great company great rates!!!

These guys are hands down amazing! Cut my interest rate in half!! Total time was less than 2 weeks, would've been one week if I didn't mess up the paperwork. Any questions I had were answered within minutes via text or email!! The guy I worked with was Troy Trigg and was super helpful and amazing. They even helped me look for a lower auto nsurance and life insurance rates!!! A+++

You have to use them as this company has their act together being easy to use to save you more money than you think possible!

I do not recommend Rate Genius or Ann McKinley. The entire process felt rushed and inconvenient for me so she can move on to the next customer. I was confused about the "amount financed" and asked her over the phone before signing paperwork about it and I kept referring to the "amount financed" that the documents included... well, when the loan gets funded it's most than what the document listed because under the "itemization of amount financed" there were more fees and those fees didn't add up to the section I was referencing, when I called and ask about the amount she just said that we talked about that but clearly she didn't explain it or ask why I was confused.

Andrew Stanley helped me throughout the entire process of refinancing my vehicle. Drew made the entire refi a complete breeze. This was my first time refinancing, Drew was knowledgeable, friendly, and available at all times to answer any questions I had as well as continuously kept me informed on the status of the refi. If anyone is looking at using RateGenius to refi their car note, ask for Andrew Stanley. I cannot speak highly enough about his customer service and multitude of ways he helped make this process the least stressful thing I've done in quite some time. Thanks again, Drew!

RateGenius does not clearly disclose that they run a hard inquiry, they will do so even if they don't have your social security number. Every other website I worked with asked questions, ran a soft inquiry, offered estimated rates, and then ran a hard inquiry after you showed interest in an offer. I now have a hard inquiry that RateGenius could get removed with a simple email stating they do not want to have an inquiry listed on my credit report, however they have decided that they will not be doing so. This is not how business should be run and they are frankly rude if you speak to them about resolving a small issue.

I ve been trying to work with The representative Michael Youngblood to get my auto refinance locked down. Only problem is it s now taking two weeks because he keeps contacting me by text and then never follows through on the scheduled call time. If RateGenius want to correct it by getting me in touch with a loan officer who wants to do their job I can perhaps up this rating. In the meantime I ll be spreading this review far and wide.

I just refinanced a car for the first time. I had a lot of questions and concerns. My loan officer Jeremy Odom consistently and promptly responded to all my questions and immediately took care of any concerns or issues that came up along the way. It wasn't that way with everyone that I had to work with there, but Jeremy more then made up for any shortcomings or misinformation I received from any other contacts. He saved the day, every day, and put my mind at ease.

Horrible experience, I was lied to that I got approved send all my personal info to Keith Edwards and after all he never called me back to inform me that after all I wasn't approved. I NEVER received a call from his supervisor to let me know what went wrong. This company not only lied but didn't even had the decency to call me and explain they just left me in blank and with a million questions. Don't trust this company they don't know the meaning of TRUE customer service.

Andy Law was a pleasure to work with. I got a great rate and deal. I thought I had a great rate with another lender and was told if someone beat theirs like rategenius there would be additional fees associated. That was totally false. I highly recommend rateGenius!!!

I had never heard of rateGenius until I used their services late in 2016. The person I worked with - Drew - could not have been more helpful. Refinancing can be a confusing process but Drew was always available and willing to answer my many questions via calls and text messaging - very convenient. Would definitely recommend rateGenius.

This company is a joke, for starters they never contact you! I had to contact them after waiting 4 days although their automated email says someone will contact you within 1-2 days. Than when I call I'm told I can't be assisted because the value of my car is to high, but I read the fine print and am within the value the terms and conditions noted. What a waste of time and a hard inquiry! Thanks for nothing rate"Genius".

After we completed our refinance with RateGenius, we got another email with a lower payment offer days later. Why weren't we given that offer the week before!!

Initially it was great. Communication was very good. They had my vehicle information wrong, so I gave them correct info. Suddenly everything changed and was told they would get back with me. Have not heard a word since. Total waste of a hard credit inquiry.

All the paperwork is kinda a pain to do but in the end it was all worth it I saved 10% off my old loan they are definitely worth trying out the work with a lot of lenders so your odds of getting approved at a lower rate are high "if you are refinancing your current loan"

This company is a FRAUD. Do not trust this company. If you apply in credit karma, DO NOT consent or agree to terms and conditions if you don t want them to pull a hard inquiry on your credit report.
I did not provide them with my social security number,( I thought that way is safer). But all they needed I guess was my full name, address and birthdate. They pulled my credit NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE. please read the disclosure. When you click the agreement on the application, you are authorizing them to pull your credit report. ( this is exactly what they said on the phone after I called them).

Beyond Unprofessional!

They told me that I was approved three times. They went so far to have me mail my title in; and they took my money. I even cancelled my warranty with my current financing company. They put me in a very uncomfortable position. I am yet to figure out what to do with my warranty problems now.

They promised to help me; but when you call back and get someone different each time that is a little hard to do. Rayon was supposed to be the big boss. But, he passed me off on Tim who brags to be the best. I found him to be the rudest and most incompetent of all. Beware if you get a loan officer named, Tim, he was the biggest of liars. All he did was run my credit again and lower my credit score more.

Then, said sorry Donna, I have bad news. I think they are nothing more than a scam. They even had me mail in my title and put off my current payment with my current financing company. They took my money which I literally had to dispute the charge with my bank as an inappropriate charge. And, I've yet to receive a courtesy call back from Rayon who promised to fix this. I have never wrote a review in my life; but I would not want anyone to be scammed by this company. I am staying with the well known companies that i had in the first place: GM Financial.

By the way, I have excellent credit score and never been turned down in my life.

Saved a lot on a refinance through RateGenius... highly recommend!

Worked with a representative named Rebecca who was very flexible, very patient, kind, respectful, and worked with me constantly. I could text, call, or email her at any time and she got back to me as soon as she could (they're very busy, as am I).

It was easy to do the refinance through them as they took care of everything. They knocked down my loan almost $100 which made it easier to pay for car insurance, plus my APR is so much better! They cut it beyond half of what it was!

I was skeptical at first to accept help from a middle man to get a refinance. No other banks would accept a refinance under just my name (even though I've been paying for my car for over 2 years with a ridiculous APR and payment per month), but they helped to push for a loan under my name and it worked.

I highly recommend their service. 5/5.

If there was zero stars that is the rating I would give this company. After having received an email stating that my application was incomplete I then proceeded to call customer service and get it straightened out. Once on the phone with the customer service employee she proceeded to asking me questions about my vehicle and my application, which in the end she told me she could not do anything for me and that there was no way I would be able to refinance my car loan and hung up on me. She was not only unhelpful, inexperienced, but extremely rude. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

I decided to apply for a refinance on my car based on credit karma's criteria. I haven't heard anything for a week and decided to give rate genius a call. I was greeted with a series of electronic prompts asking me for all of my personal information. After I answered it I was told that a customer representative would be right with me, when she got on the line she proceeded to ask me the exact same information once again I complied once again and she proceeded to tell me that my refinance had been declined when I asked her the reason why, she couldn't tell me. I then asked her why didn't they just send me an email... again no answer.

Worse than that, there was a hard inquiry on my credit. My advice to everyone is don't waste your time with this sham of a company it's not worth it!

Honestly I couldn't say anything but positive things about rateGenius! I have been shopping around on my own for new finance rates for my vehicle. The lowest rate I could find on my own was just under 10% and my monthly payment would remain high. It was not worth it to me to refinance unless it was a considerable difference. After several months of shopping on my own, I found rateGenius online. I filled out a very short application that took me about 2 minutes or less. That was on a Sunday night. By Monday morning I had an email saying I had an approval for a loan! I was still a little hesitant, because I had no idea how rateGenius worked (I sort of filled out the application on a whim). I was almost immediately contacted by Jason who explained to me in detail about my loan approval and how rateGenius works! I have not so perfect credit history, and a Vantage score of 644. RateGenius was able to get me a loan from a credit union that lowered my interest rate to 6.6%!!! My rate was 14.2% with my original lender. Not only did they help me lower my rate considerably, but the also OFFERED me (you do not have to add these extras to your loan it is only an offer) a great warranty package that was far better than the one I purchased from the dealership with my original loan, and the process was quick and painless. Plus, they did all the work! FOR FREE! The also helped me with GAP protection, and advised me I may be eligible for a pro-rated refund from my past loan GAP protection. Do not be clouded by the few bad reviews here. People should take accountability for their ability to get loan or not. RateGenius does not write your credit report, you do! I also wrote everything down almost word for word when I first spoke with Jason, and he explained everything to me in great detail, there were no surprises (also it is your job to completely understand what you are getting into with any situation like this). If I can get a great interest rate with some derogatory remarks and just a fair to poor credit score, so can you. I would just make sure you have at least one year of on time payments with your current lender. Jason is an awesome asset to the rateGenius team and Ali was super helpful as well. Not a bad thing to say about rateGenius!!! What a great business for people looking to refinance!! If I could give more stars I would!!

I bought 2 vehicles in October 2017 and Rate Genius was able to refinance them in January and dropped my interest rate 8% and 3%. I am supper happy with my results and having 2 loans paid off and 2 more building credit history is awesome.

RateGenius it's not genius, it's stupidity.
Absolutely worst company. RateGenius is not a credit union, they are intermediaries (dealer) that mislead people. On your behalf and without your permission, send requests to banks and thereby destroy your credit history.

The guy that helped me was great! He explained everything on how the loan would work.I Don't remember the guy's name, but was really nice.

I think CreditKarma and rateGenius has a scam going on. Don't answer any offers to "see if you can get a lower rate"! You are applying for a loan. The offer was to see see if I was eligible for a lower rate without affecting your credit score. I was curious, because it said that it would not affect my score. Two weeks later, I received two denial auto loan letters in the mail! When I called the company, the condescending rep said that I did apply for a loan and proceeded to read off the "fine print" to me. . .and in so many words. . .you deal with it. Now my credit score has dropped to fair rating.

Pleasantly surprised on how easy the transition was. I am especially grateful for Andy who was able to walk me through everything.

Called for a quote and ended up giving small amounts of personal info, the women insisted they do soft hits on credit I had told her I was pregnant and getting a mortgage within 6 months. This company must have sold my information because 5 hard hits from different company's including there's were on my credit report which increased my interest rate on my mortgage quote making it almost impossible for me to think I'll be in a home before my baby comes in July. I would stay far away from this company saving $60 a month is nothing and not worth it... these good ratings must be employees because when I called back to complain I spoke to a man named Chris who said he was a manager well let's just say talk is cheap because there's no Chris in management there. Super upset not I will suffer till 2019 till this is removed from my credit report.
