Beautiful hotel in lovely location surrounded by countryside. Hotel staff were excellent and served a wonderful Sunday lunch which was thoroughly enjoyed by all! I am sure we will be returning here very soon.

Warm welcome, friendly staff great service for my uncle's 95th birthday lunch. One thing I noticed is that the hotel needed a little tlc! A fantastic day, Thank you for your hospitality.

We went for a spa day so my review is just for that. I am being quite harsh with the 3 stars because it was a lovely place and we would go back, but the more I thought about it the more I thought of things that weren't quite perfect. E.g. we had to get changed back into our clothes when we went for lunch as you have to come out of the spa and walk back over to the hotel. No one wants to have to change back into a wet swimming costume. If that was advertised I could have brought 2 and it wouldn't have been so annoying. My boyfriend was also a bit disappointed that he didn't bring clothes for the gym, but again it wasn't clearly advertised that we would have access to the gym with the package we bought. Only about 40% of the lockers actually worked properly so I spent the first 10 minutes of my visit with my clothes locked in a locker where the key wouldn't come out but I couldn't unlock it and then the next 10 minutes looking for one that did lock properly. The changing room could generally do with an update - there were doors and a partition wall missing from 2 shower cubicles that clearly had them before. So nothing that completely ruined the day but it didn't feel as luxurious as I expected.

Had an amazing spa day, had a facial and a ritual wrap and massage with Becky which was fantastic. Lovely staff, very friendly and accommodating. Very pleased with the overall experience.

Had my school prom here. Beautiful venue, very open and pleasant interior design. Location is a bit out of the way but is perfect as the outside open space beautifully complements the building and provides very nice views

Room was very Run down with Dirty Glasses and inch thick dust on the lights and higher places (I am 6'3)
Gym and spa was great in honesty.. but cooked breakfast was very basic and we where left to feel uncomfortable with the creepy gentleman working in the breakfast room
Carpets in room and around in very bad condition have photos of it all

Loved this place for its service and great room upgrades however my last 3 visits have been a poor experience. Mainly focused around the spa and certain facilities not working. On my last visit though it was a general average experience. Jacuzzi not working due to high chlorine levels. The room we stayed in had cracks in the walls and wasn't repaired very well at all. We requested an item from the reception to which they were going to call the room with the outcome but they never did. Our room service breakfast order that we paid an additional five pounds for was missing items and had wrong items on it. When we mentioned this on checking out we were very suprised that we were still asked to pay the full charge for the room service and had no apology for the service just a reason of lack of available items. Though we had to submit our order the night before!!!!

Hotel with pool, spa and gym in the Usk valley, great local walks, a friendly and helpful team make this a great location for a weekend break. A choice of bar meals or restaurant (or room service)
The building has a rich history and was built before catering for folks with accessibility issue was considered. We were assigned a room on the ground floor which was step free, with shower, was ramp to access leisure centre. However there were steps to restaurant which I could manage, I think there is an alternative restaurant entrance with no steps but I did not ask or use, so if you need I suggest you check.

Heritage room means old and creaky. It was quaint for about 10 Minutes before the floorboards did yer nut in. It had
Zero soundproofing and was directly a above breakfast room.
Spa is lazy and dialled in.
Breakfast was menu one day and buffet troughs the next.
Staff nice enough. But building not invested. It looked as knackered as I did after cutting down my 3 night stay to 2 due to lack of sleep.
Also loved the 7am saturday facetime call the parents had with their kids in the room above.
Think we can agree that the kids have mastered Hello.
Lastly the sofa... Disgraceful. You wouldn't let a dog sit on it.

Lovely spa and changing packages to suit your requirements is possible which a lot won't do. Staff lovely, facilities excellent. Recommended

My husband and I came for one night for our honeymoon we was made very welcome from start to finish we would most definitely recommend it and will most definitely be booking again the staff are outstanding and very friendly with a very warm welcome.
The cleanliness was of high standard and the food was the best ever with extremely fair prices 10/10

Relaxing experience, treated exceptionally well by staff

Stayed here Saturday to Friday for our honeymoon recently.. Staff were amazing and very helpful, food was delicious and there was lots to do within a 45 min drive. Also had spa treatment which was great especially as it was my first one ever. Stayed in room 26 which was a lovely spacious room. Great experience.

Go there on a regular basis and the spa and gym is 5 star

Nice setting for a wedding. Basic rooms in need of a bit of love. Room was double booked when we arrived but eventually sorted, so we may of been in an emergency room, which was about to be sorted . Would go back

Great Christmas atmosphere, despite a lack of electricity.

Only one night in this wonderful place unfortunately. The ambience here was just fantastic for a couple of Aussies. Also had a great time at an inn at Usk.

Stayed here for family event and it was okay. Room was large, if a little dated but overall nice and the noise from the corridor kept me awake most of one night. Food in the evening was really good however the hot breakfast was disappointing, not worth the money. Would stay here again but would likely pick a room away from main house.

Excellent value for money. Spa resort really nice and relaxing. Brand new gym equipment and great cooked breakfast included. But the best thing of all were the staff members. Lovely people. So welcoming. Will definitely come back.....worth a trek out into the beatiful hillside to not have to stay in a miserable side of the M4 motorway hotel....

A really nice hotel in Llangybi, Usk with very friendly staff. The rooms were a little bit dated without A/C however they appeared to have been recently decorated and were very clean and tidy and provided a fan which was definitely needed due to the heatwave we've been having. In addition, the rooms do provide all the usual amenities you come to expect in a hotel these days (smart TV, kettle, hair dryer etc). I have to admit though I am not a great admirer of the whole pushing 2 single beds together to make a double bed idea that they seem to have going on at this hotel. The gym and spa with pool, sauna, hot tub, steam room was a brilliant place to burn off some steam and then relax after a long day at work. The restaurant served nice food and provided good service however it was a little on the pricey side. Overall i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and I will be returning again in a couple of weeks.

Attended venue for a conference. Good venue for conferences, you need to get to venue early-ish as the carpark can fill up quite quickly.

The hotel is lovely and in a idyllic spot rooms are good too and food is usual hotel grub pricey but ok . Front of house is good. Reason for 3 stars is bar staff are woeful . When serving they are good. But sometimes all go missing. Someone needs to have a word with them. 3 can keep chatting but someone needs to be at the bar . Too many times seen this before

We came to the hotel for our honeymoon and honestly loved it!!! The staff were always on hand if we needed anything it was clean and tidy we had room service come and clean our room everyday. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. We had a spa treatment it which was calm and relaxing I would recommend it to anyone will be booking again :)

Rooms tired, lovely location restaurant staff dismissive. When asked to provide table service for drinks drinks they totally ignored the request with guests having to treck to the bar.

My daughter had her wedding here 11 years ago. I was a bit disappointed this time as it's looking a bit tired. I would still return as I love the location. Just hope they spend some money on it soon as it needs some love and attention. Beautiful area in the Usk country side

Quiet nice hotel. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful pool with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Friendly staff.

We decided to book a romantic weekend getaway and regretted it.

Here is why:

1. The room was dirty and the shower broken - no one came to fix / clean it.

2. The Spa was noisy, people were diving, shouting, and when I complained to the staff about that, I was told it is Saturday and they cannot do anything about it.



Bottom line - never book a stay in that place. The hotel chain is respectable but the place is run by incompetent, rude shallow - minded people.

This is my second stay here and we chose it because we had enjoyed our first stay so much. We needed somewhere drivable from Newport as my partner was working there but in the gorgeous Welsh countryside. We love the spa facilities here and I had a great massage. We were in the main house this time and the room was lovely as was the bathroom. The only downside was the old window was letting quite a draft in but I never felt cold despite the weather. Breakfast is a little hit and miss depending if you go for the included hot food that is decidedly average but the supplementary choices were very nice.

Was bought a spa-day (overnight) stay. Had a really lovely time, would really recommend. Staff very friendly, helpful. The room was beautifully furnished, the bed was very comfy a fab birthday present.

Overall a lovely place to stay and would visit again. During the pandemic we felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Gym and pool facilities were good standard, food was lovely (try the carrot cake cheesecake!) and rooms were of good standard. We were offered a free meal one night due to an inconvenience with our room which was extremely good of them. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the grounds were lovely peaceful setting to enjoy!

It looks good but doesn't live up to good. Bar prices are sky high, service is sloppy and food only OK.

Made to feel really unwelcomed. Waitress was rude and talked down to us from the second we got there. Wouldn't go again. Would not recommend.

After being let down massively by a holiday camp we drove everywhere (Bristol and Burnham on sea) no were had any availability. After travelling back towards Newport at very late at midnight we decided to ask if they had ananything available. They were amazing both the Porter and night manager (Jamie and Bryan) let us stay showed us to the room and was so kind we couldn't ask for anything else. Especially with crying kids! We have stayed in the past and ever been let down a massive 5 stars recommend to everyone!

Ok for the night but was in need of an update. Pleasant breakfast.
