Front desk staff were not friendly, they more resembled the staff of a junior high school barking orders at students. Granted they are at an awkward location with homeless people on the doorstep at night causing them to lock the front doors requiring you to use your card key to enter the facility.
Bring a compass, map and string, this place is a maze. Rooms all different sizes it's hard to say which one is better. Beds could use replacing as they are all warped out of shape.

Ok if you just need a place to sleep and shower but overall a bit disappointing. Having renovation works going on in the entry hall certainly doesn't help the vacation feeling. Probably would have picked a different place had I known about this in advance.

We spent two nights at this hotel and had nothing but exceptional service, the Front Desk staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were also very accommodating for our early arrival on the day of check in.
The room was very clean and decor was very nice. We had all the amenities we would have hoped for including WIFI. Our room had a great sitting room, very comfy beds and air conditioning which was ideal!
The location was great for restaurants, night entertainment as well as shopping and close to Rogers Arena for the concerts we were in town for.
Overall it was exactly what we were looking for in a hotel in Vancouver and was very affordable compared to other hotels we had looked at. We would 100% stay again. Thank you!

The room was great and the bed very comfortable. It included parking and a full breakfast which was terrific. The hotel itself is old which is only really noticeable in the halls thanks to recent renos. Overall a great place for a reasonable price in a central location.

30minutes prior our checkout at 8am. Our car was broken in at the parking of Ramada Downtown. There were no important valuables taken except some clothes. The management showed us the footage but they were not willing to help us with any compensation for the damaged window. The cost to repair was $750 for our 2018 Ford Escape. They offered to clean the vehicle because the pieces of glasses were scattered inside and they also offered to tape it up. It s as if this is a common thing that happens to their parking. Please be cautious in booking with Ramada. Find somewhere else where they have better parking.

The walls of the rooms are thin like paper. People in the room next to talk to each other at 4am and we can say what they are talking about. The service is adequate and the rental is good. But, I will not choose this hotel again because of potential noise from neighbors.

I've never been a room so small that I couldn't close the door if my suitcase was on the floor. My special request due to an injury was not honored until I told the woman that someone would need to come and carry me down the stairs. I would never stay here again.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I was in for one night because I had a business meeting the next day. Upon checking in, I was notified that a nightclub was next door and that there was an event that evening. Needless to say, I slept only a few hours. The music from the club was loud, people above me were partying until 3 a.m. and down the hall until 7 a.m. The room itself was fine and clean. The TV didn't work, the bathroom light switch started a fan that was incredibly loud and sounded like it needed replacing and the wi-fi was non-existent.I had to leave to get anything done. If you're traveling for business or with small children, I would spend the extra money and stay elsewhere. If you're looking for a cheap place to party, this is probably for you.

There is no 0 Start so I have to give it a 1 star to be able to write the review.
Please be advise with this hotel. Very Very unprofessional and I wish I could say Rude. Specially the way the manager, CAREANN.

We got a death threat right before we open our room, ROOM 509 ( Please see the Photo ).

The Note we found at 10:25PM

Yes this could have been a note from a Sick Mind, possible a joke to to someone with mental disorder. Yes, who would write a death threat on a piece of note pad supplied by the Hotel. But in today's world, even a 1/billion chance, we could not ignore it.

we called 911 and officers responded. we explained and they helped us clearing our room.
Thanks VPD for helping us grabbing our belongs. Police Report Filed, Call 911 , Officer Responded ( Please see the Picture )

By the time we left hotel, it was around 11:30PM, literary no place to go and stuck. The next morning, I called the company that we booked this place through for full refund.

Their policy stated that we should contact the hotel for any refund. So we did.

The manager Caryann if i am spelling it correctly refused, offer 1 day refund, because of her logic that we left the hotel after 3PM check out time, therefore we missed that deadline and we were only going to get 1 day refund.

This is how a person, in supervision manages situations like this. Wow, that is all I can Say. "SIR, DID YOU STAY HERE OR NOT? DID YOU USE OUR HOTEL SERVICES FOR THESE DAYS OR NOT? SO, YOU MUST PAY FOR THOSE DAYS. YOU KNOW THE CHECK OUT TIME IS 3PM, WHY ARE YOU ASKING FOR FULL REFUND?

Still in disbelief. Can't believe someone in management position can use their reasoning and logic in this way.

Better training handling these situation is definitely necessary for her managers.

Just to advise on those who like to stay here. Be very careful as there is no Camera except for lobby.

We all know that things do happen, we are all human beings. It is a good practice that we should put ourselves into each others shoes and possible understand what others.

I can tell you being tough does not take anyone forward in life, yes you may feel good afterwards, but sleep with it and see where it takes you.

Good location for a decent price. We got a great deal for staying here. It's located close to anything you need. The rooms are ok in size and the building itself is somewhat old feeling. But the staff is good.

Do Not book here! There was blood on one of the duvets in the room. They left a window fully rolled down when they parked our car. When talking to the front desk manager an older blonde woman about these problems she was extremely rude and belittling, didn't even get an apology or any compensation. Also the rooms were extremely small and dated and the cleanliness was well below par. Much to over priced for what you get and the service was absolutely horrid. Never going here again.

On edge of night district. Pot shops, strip joints, adult stores down the street, for those who want to avoid them (or for those who want to find them, I guess). Lots of decent quick food (poutine, doner, pizza) nearby. Room was clean, but little space besides bed.

Good location, however dirty since we arrived, never cleaned, just put shampoo and more or less tend the bed (do not ever leave something on the bed because they do not do it!) Amazing for a chain hotel.

Good location. Spent one night. Bar downstairs was extremely noisy until 230am. This was on a Saturday and we were watned at checking in that it would be noisy. If youre looking for a place thats walking distance to shops and nightlife and arnt spending too much time in the room than this is your place. Was clean and comfortable.

Terrible experience. Got to the hotel and then got notified their system overbooked and need to switch us to another hotel. We booked more than 2 weeks back and there is no notification before our arrival! We have to drive in the downtown evening to find the other hotel with our kid. Terrible terrible experience.

Very good hotel for the price. Our stay was very pleasant. Suggest using public parking instead of the more expensive hotel parking. Public parking lot is right across the hotel parking lot and the access is through the back alley.

The employees were lovely, but that's where the compliments of this facility end. The elevators, hallways, and room stunk like a moldy porta potty. The toilet paper holder and air conditioning cover kept falling off the wall in the room. The carpet was old and coming apart too.
There was a disgusting bus stop along with bums and drugs located right outside of the hotel.

A little worried about the reviews read before we got there we were pretty happy. Yes the staff is nice and yes the hotel is basic. But if we take into account the comments and we ask for a room in the floors and the arirere (numbers 08 to 20) it is ok.
Rest the cramped rooms especially with family. The absence of air (the window does not open) and the heat (the air conditioning is incredible because it does not change or clean the filters).
In short, only one advantage is central.
To reserve for a short stay even a single night.

Stayed on fifth level and the bass from the bar was soo loud we could not sleep. We got moved to a room just as small on the fourth floor and still heard the bass, but it didn't shake the walls. Small rooms. Mediocre mattress. Dirty untucked duvets without covers. Hard to find check-in parking.

Look bad outside and smell bad inside. Attendants were nice and polite. The rooms are horrible and stunk. Make sure to book with bathroom in your room not shared. I'm glad i stayed at Howard Johnson by Wyndam Hotel across the street. Better price and does not smell.

Terrible service. I am still waiting for a call back from the management(over 2 months!!!). We stayed in this hotel in July for 3 nights. Second day they didn't pick the garbage or empty the recycling bin ,Didn't leave enough bath towels for 4 people. 2 days in a row I had to call front desk to get bath towels, sugar/coffee etc. Talked to their housekeeping , I was told that I will get a call back from the supervisor, no one called me back. Will never ever stay here again.

Disappointed with the 3 star rating on this hotel ...

Disappointed with the 3 star rating on this hotel and associated with Ramada brand. It's like a measly motel with substandard service.

1. Dirty bathrooms aside from the cramped space. The toilet bowl doesn't get scrubbed properly. I can tell that the housekeeping doesn't clean and spend their time chitchatting with each other because point 2
2. Hotel staff cleaning the rooms at 4pm - I don't even get to rest after the day and forced to get a cup of coffee at Blenz around the corner. I caught two housekeeping ladies saying they were "helping each other out" but in fact they were gossiping. They did not clean at all, left used dishes and utensils by the kitchen counter.
3. No towels, no bathroom amenities. I suspect the housekeeping keeps the bath soap, shampoo and conditioner for themselves. No slippers too, like any other North American hotel but clean the carpet, the carpet isn't even vacuumed properly.
4. Hallways smell like alcohol and weed.
5. When I asked for the front desk for directions to Chinatown, she told me to board bus 14 and get off at Abbott street. Little did I know that Abott was a bad neighborhood full of druggies. As a local and a hotel staff I would expect you to give me the right directions and to a safe neighborhood.
6. First night I did not sleep at all because of the noise. Don't believe getting some measly discount for losing sleep. The nightclub noise did not stop until 3am.
7. Some of my prescription medicine are missing. Housekeeping probably threw it away. That's not nice.

I am now hesistant to book other Ramada hotels around the world because of this experience.

EDIT: the review below is very negative. However lots of people complained about the breakfast etc and lots of changes have been made. The breakfast service has been improved but there are still some changes yet to be made but the hotel listen and have acted to improve things.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
This place that has simply given up. The staff were not friendly, the cleaning leaves a bit to be desired. The breakfast was so bad I would have wanted to be paid to eat it. I will not be wanting to stay here again anytime soon. Don't waste your money. This place is dated and everything leaves you questioning if it's meant to be like this (exposed wiring etc)

The one saving grace is that the beds are comfortable and that house keeping do a good job of keeping the rooms in reasonable condition.

Do not waste your time and money on this hotel.

Do not waste your time and money on this hotel.
Location is Granville street, which is prowled by weed smokers, homeless, loud drunken people.
Rooms are very tiny and the only view from the room is another room's window.
Worst of all, the Internet is horrible. It will always stay connected, but you will rarely have usable Internet. Complaining the front desk has no effect. Said would call back after fixing. She never called back nor was the Internet ever fixed.
Also, not sure what the problem is, but the cell phone network inside the room is also very spotty. Hence, cannot use cell phone Internet as well consistently.

The location has it's plusses and minuses. It's downtown, which is good, but if you dislike panhandlers, you won't appreciate staying here. The rooms, and the hotel itself, are old, with a thin skin of update and lipstick. On the upside, this gives it a charm you won't find at a highway more, for sure. It's reasonably priced, with transit at your door, and on site parking. Overall, not the best hotel I've stayed at, but far from the worst.

The staff were so rude, impolite and insensitive. Very disrespectful towards me. Very old, smelly hotel with zero soundproofing. The room was NOT clean. Everything from hairs in the bathtub to actual stains on the comforter. The bed sheets did not smell like they had been freshly washed. If you want a super clean hotel do not come here!

Right downtown.. Very friendly staff. The parking wasn't bad.. (valet parking) about 30 bucks. Only thing that Sucks is the club downstairs makes a lot of noise but it's only weekends.. Shouldn't go to bed early anyway..

Great stay here. Room was clean, tidy and looked nice. It really helped that it also had appliances like microwave and fridge. Wished they didn't charge extra for parking at the hotel, should be included.
